Soon Shadow heard other wolves running after them. He cursed under his breath and ran to a little hole in the ground big enough for one. He looked at Hazel "get in the hole and dont come out."

Hazel knew it wasn't big enough for two. "But what about you?" she asked. She heard growls coming closer.

Shadow looked at her "I will be fine now get in" he siad as he shoved her towards the hole

Hazel finally allowed herself to be pushed in. She sat down and waited, hoping the snarls and growls would go away, it reminded her to much of her old Pack.

After Hazel was in the hole shadow stood guard. Soon a big wolf and a few other wolves appered in front of him. The big wolf growled at shadow "I thought I said that you should stay clear of this place." Shadow growled back "I am just passing threw nothing else" the big wolf smerekd "well to make sure that you remember to stay out of out part of the forest we are going to teach you a leason" the other wolves had surounded Shadow and started to attack him.

Hazel heard the wolves talking. then she heard snarling and attacking. Hazel remembered a time when she would leap into battle along her Pack. "But my pack is no more!" she reminded herself. She paced the small hole, listening to the sound, wondering what to do.

Shadow soon layed down the ground all beat up. He was bleeding at the neck where one of them had bitten him. One of this front paws were badly hurt and he was bitten all over. The big wolf called off the other wolves. He smerked at Shadow "now you know better to come into our part of the forest." then turned and walked away back into the forest with the rest of his pack

Hazel stopped pacing. She heard the wolves go away. She jumped out of the hole and saw Shadow all beaten up. "Shadow! Your hurt!" she immediatly started licking his scratches.

Shadow smiled at her weakly, happy to see that they had not seen her. "trust me they could have done alot worse." he said as he got to his feet weakly

"We need to get you somewhere safe." she said, looking and sniffing around. "You seem to know about the area, where is the nearest place that is safe?"

Shadow thought for a monet "the safest place is about a hours walk from here at a old cave." he said as he limped a little

"We need something closer." she said. "Don't you walk anywhere. You're hurt. I'll see if someone will take us in, or even safe ground." she padded away, calling back, "Don't you move!"

Shadow smiled "okay I will not move" he siad a and layed down

Hazel ran, sniffing wildly for just a speck of unclaimed land. Just as she was giving up, she found some.

Shadow started to fall asleep when she found the land

"I found a small log, can you make it? It's not far away." she said, pointing toward the log.

Shadow looked at her half asleep and nodded. "yay I think I can make it" he said a she got to this feet slowly

Hazel led him slowly, as if they were walking through a minefield. When she got to the log, she said, "You rest. I'll stay on guard." she planted herself in front of the log.

Shadow smiled and layed down "thank you." he siad softly befor he fell asleep

Hazel nodded and planted her eyes on the clearing. So far, so good.

In the shadows a wolf was watching them, it was one of the ones who had beaten him up. He then ran off to the leader to tell him about what he had saw

Shadow stayed fast asleep

Hazel thought she heard a russeling, but she dissmissed it. She tried to concentrate, but she kept on worrying about Shadow.

Soon all the wolves from before were in the bushes and the leader steped out. "well hello there miss, what are you doing here?" the big leader wolf said

Hazel cursed her horrible sense of smell. "Um, just resting......." she tried to hide the seemingly huge gap that showed where Engel was resting.

The big wolf smiled at her "well it is very dangerous out here, you sould be carefull" he siad as he took a few steps closer
