Evolet crouched behind a large wooden box under the cover of night. She was wanted in the town for magic a much hated thing in this part of the world and needed to leave as fast as possible. she had spotted the ship Belle of the sea earlier that day and deemed it safe enough for her escape. as she made sure know one was coming her way she hurried off the dock and onto a rope ladder.She climbed it half way and spotted someone so she quickly climbed the rest.

Once at the top she saw a door and opened it. Stairs decended into darkness and she thought it was safe so she felt around. "more wooden boxes" she thought only vaguely curious of what was inside. "its probably just some merchant selling fine silks or maybe shugar. She could have cared less really just so long as she esaped. she leaned against one of the boxes and sighed, sure she would be fine

Even if the ship might seem fairly empty at the moment, there of course was some one still there. There always had to be some one on a ship, or it might be stolen. But it was a somewhat unusual person guarding it. It wasn't human. It looked human, but had large red wings. And considering that he was still on the ship, he was obviously a member of the crew. More or less. But if he could, he would leave the ship right away. But he couldn't. He had a chain attached to his foot, that was chained to the ship. But at least it was a fairly long chain, so he could move around freely around the ship, and he could fly above it as well, so he was good for lookout. He was the one taking care of the tasks no one else wanted to do.
But oddly enough, he didn't seem to have any objections to this at all. It was simply because, his kind had no emotions. So if they were given a task, they would do it. At least as long as their emotions remained sealed away into a small crystal that each one of them had around their necks. But he of course still would leave if he had the chance. But oh well.

He had noticed some one sneaking onto the ship, so of course he was to see who it was. Dragging the chain after himself, he headed to where he had seen the stranger sneak in, opening the door and taking a glance around. Was somewhat hard to see, since it was rather dark, so he was listening instead.

"Who's there?"

He simply asked out after a while. If he didn't find the intruder before the others got back, he was sure to be in trouble. And he was not going to let himself get into trouble because of some one sneaking in.

the hairs on the back of Evolets neck stood on end. she had miscalculated and know she would pay the price. she changed into a small black house cat and hoped she hadnt made to much noise. she hoped the shadows his her well enough from who ever was there. she had heard a clinking sound as the person moved and thought he might be a prisoner but Evolet didnt want to take any chances and be thrown out. all hope would be lost she was sure of it if she was indeed caught. she looked around the boxes and over to the person asking the question unsure if she should answer or not. she decided against saying anything.

Since whoever it was, obviously wasn't going to come out on its own, he went and grabbed a torch that he put on fire, so that he could go and see who was in there. And just so that no one would sneak out without him noticing, he closed the door behind him. There was a small gap between the door and the floor, so the chain didn't get stuck. Kind of an adjustment that they had made on the ship for his sake. Some one with wings were useful, so they of course made sure he was able to get inside if the weather was bad or cold. But it wasn't big enough for some one to get out.

So since he could see and no one could sneak out, he started heading into the room, starting to look around to find whoever it was that had snuck on board.

Evolets natural reaction would have been to hiss but she refrained as not to be caught so soon. she leaped onto one of the boxes and looked around for another exit besides the door. there was an opening she could see but it was small and Evolet was sure she wouldnt fit. she was sure she would be caught but she moved from box to box as silently as she could manage so the light wouldnt hit her. she was glad that as a cat she was black. she looked at the hole again and hopped down from the boxes again and poked a paw throught the hole. she though she might be able to get her head through the hole and just possibly the rest of her body but she was but sure how she would do it with the light shining around here and there.
she poked her head through and took it out to be sure that would at least fit but she saw the light coming towards her and she skitted away towards the boxes again until the light was away from the hole and as soon as it was she saw her chance. she quicky went back to it and poked her head through and as she tried to get the rest she got stuck half way

He looked around a little longer, and was pretty much about to give up and go back out as he saw something stuck in a hole. A cat? On a ship? He could have sworn he had seen a person, not a cat. But oh well. Probably would be troublesome just leaving it there, so he headed over to it, and taking a good grip with his free hand and pretty much just yanking it out of the hole, without caring all too much if it hurt the cat or not. It was either that or being stuck in the hole for the rest of it's life. And he doubted that was a way for a cat to end it's life.
And for the sake of it not going somewhere else and getting stuck again, he made sure to hold it by it's neck for now, taking a somewhat curious look at it. Where on earth did the cat come from? But on other hand, it was none of his business. Might be some animal the captain had picked up and decided to keep or something. But just in case, he would keep an eye on it till the others were back. So he wouldn't let go of the cat till then.

so for now, he just made sure to hold onto the cat and head back out so he could put out the torch and go back to what he had been doing. Not that he had been doing all that much. He had just been sitting around watching the sky. Not much to do when no one else was on the ship. But now he had a cat he could sit around and pet for a while. So that was rather nice.

Her sides hurt and she didnt like being held as if she was a tame cat but she figured she might as well suck up to the person holding her. She was fuming on the inside at being stuck in the hole and being caught but she showed nothing but calm on the outside. she squirmed for a minute but quickly saw he wasnt going to put her down so she started purring at him to show him she was freindly, for now anyway she would be. no sense in making the person holding her mad.

she couldnt see him very well in the dark but assumed him human as she couldnt see much in front of her.she ran through her mind possible senerios of escaping and wondered if any of them would work. probably not she thought. she also wondered about what waited for her if she would be found out or not. she was still mad at being so damn careless in the first place. if she had never changed in the alley back on the port then she would never have been found out in the first place. besides being mad at her life she also wondered who the man holding her was. she wondered if he had seen her as a human.

When he got outside, he made sure to pull the chain in so that it wouldn't get stuck or anything. He hated it when it did that, so he'd rather not have it stuck anywhere. And after that, he pretty much just went back to where he had been before, which was in the watch out, up the mast, so he pretty much flew up there, the cat with him, sitting down up there and not doing all that much. He didn't have much to do, except keep an eye out so that no one snuck onto the ship or anything. And he was doing that job rather well, since he had noticed the cat? sneaking on borad.

And for now, while he was sitting up there and keeping an eye out, he was entertaining himself by holding the cat and petting it. He really seemed to need something he could have around when he was alone. Not that he was all that social. He actually was quite anti social. But anyone needed some proper company when being a prisoner on a ship like this.

evolet looked at the ground below her and didnt feel so well. she had always had a fear of heights but she was more suprised at haven been flown up. she didnt think he was human anymore and felt foolish for thinking so in the first place. she looked around him and for the first times saw the wings. she was almost curious enough to start asking question and turn back into a human but her sanity got ahold of her. she started wondering why he was even there in the first place. she looked down and wished she hadnt. she had seen the chain and relized he was being kept prisoner and it wouldnt be wise to show any human qualities.

Reality finally took hold of her and she realized that she might be kept prisoner also on the ship and she became more aware of the heights. she buried her head into his arm and thought of safe dry land and what may lie ahead if she wasnt caught. her plan to escape had been stupid and she was sure that sooner rather then later she would be paying the price. "why oh why is it always me" was all that ran through her head.she just hoped that she wouldnt be tied down the way he was.

He blinked a bit as the cat hid it's head in his arms. Was a cat afraid of heights? Couldn't be it, had to be something else. But he didn't think much about it. He would just pet it for a while and see if that calmed it down. He wasn't all too good with animals, so he was just trying to test and see what the cat liked. And it was somewhat nice to have the cat there. It didn't talk and it wasn't a large smelly guy that was telling him what to do. And it a cat was allot more soft.

He rubbed it behind its ear and petted it's head, simply waiting for the others to come back. But he pretty much fell asleep before that happened. Sleeping quietly on top of the mast with the cat still in his arms, kind of petting it as a reflex, simply because it was there.

Evolet eventually got ahold of herself enough to take her head out of his arm. the sun was rising slwoly and she could start to feel its glow on her fur. she wished she could have stretched but she was afraid he may wake up if she did so.she wondered if she could remain a cat the entire voyage if they couldnt tell what she was. she didnt much like the idea of being such a small cat for the time though. she had two cat forms. her small house cat version and a cat about the size of a cheetah but just a little bulkier, not by much though. she hadnt ever stayed in a cat form for more than 2 days as at times it got unconfortable.

Evolet looked at the dock and saw several men come towards th boat. a fluttery feeling grew in her stomach and she though about hopping of the lookout but knew that would be dumb, she liked living even if her life was rather down right now. the men didnt seem like trust worthy merchants they seemed to take on the looks of crooks. the fluttery feeling turned into a sinking one as she realized the ship probably wasnt transporting sugar. she wondered how she could have made such a careless mistake but then again she thought ive been making plenty of those lately
