Hazel was wondering if Corona had some, other-worldly weapon that she hid, so she was tagging along so she could move up in ranks, or even better, THE ELITE.

"Why are you helping us, anyway?" She turned to the demon girl. I'll bet she's one of the ambitious ones, the kind who like rank climbing.

Ivan nodded agreeing with amiritta with what they might need and with her question about why she was helping them. "yay why are you helping us?"

"oh, a passing fancy." she replied. "besides, I have direct directions to the Hidden Lands, so you shouldn't doubt me."

"Well," Amiretta said, grasping the flow of this one's thoughts, certainly the climbing type, "I hope your fancy doesn't pass before we reach the Hidden Lands."

"Hmm. I guess there is only one way to find out." she said, standing. "Are we ready or not?"

They had rounded up all their supplies so Amiretta squared her shoulder and faced the unknown, with only hope, a diary, and three companions to find her mystery mom.

Hazel looked at the diary. She read a little, then found a line that said, The hidden lands are in the south, by the Burning Mountains. There are rumors a beast lives there, but it is probably nothing. Hazel turned to the south. "We go this way." she declared.

Ivan nodded "okay lets go" he still didn't trust Hazel but she was the only one they had found that knew anything

Hazel walked ahead, not really caring if they followed her or not. If they left during the travels, she didn't care.

Amiretta followed the demon guide girl, not fully trusting her, but still ready to take a chance at it.

Hazel lead the way through the forest until they came to a huge field. There was a range of mountains in the distance. "We have to cross the mountains until we find the one that is spewuing fire." she said.

Ivan nodded "okay that sounds easy." he said as he looked at the mountains

Amiretta gulped. "A mountain of fire? That's, ummm, dangerous, right?" She didn't like having to take risks like that.

"That's what this says." she said, holding up the diary. "I'm sure i's a long way off, so let's get going!"

Hazel sounded almost excited, as if the thrill of impending adventure had thrown off some of her aloofness. "Off we go." Thought of adventure brought up Amiretta's own pulse.

Hazel padded along, occasionally wondering if Amiretta's mother was dilusional enough to go to the Hidden Lands. she knew that the Hidden Lands were fraught with danger and everyone and anyone could get killed.

As Amiretta was following the demon girl she suddenly stepped into quicksand. Awww, nuts she thought as she sank, trying to pull herself out.

Ivan saw Amiretta sinking and flew over the quickand. He held out a hand to her and said "take it I will pull you out."

Amiretta struggled and reached her hand out to Ivan. "Careful, don't you get trapped to!" She said, eyeing how close his wing was to the quicksand. She kicked her legs against the imprisonment and flapped her partially trapped wings.

Ivan took her hand and began to pull. "dont worry about me." he said as he pulled and she started to come out

Amiretta kicked even harder as she felt her legs slowly sucking out, feeling her wings get free she flapped like an enraged humming bird and tried to lift herself up.

Ivan pulled one more time and Amiretta came out. "yes your free" he said happly

Hazel was a little surprised to see that there, but it just proved her point even more. She waited until Amiretta was out, and then kept walking. She avoided the pockets of flowers that were in a ring, avoided any small hills, and jumped over dirt. She just hoped the others realized what she was doing.

As soon as Amiretta's feet hit solid ground she smiled and jumped a few times, greatfull for the use of her legs. "Is it safe to fly here?" She had been craving flight but she knew that it was unsafe near a city like tho one she came from.
