Edward lightly found himself by my side. "You saw Tam?" he asked. I nodded and pointed. He leaned over me and looked in the direction I pointed out. So I was right, Edward had wanted to go after Tam. He then jumped down to where the wolves were. Bella and I followed him. He motioned for us all to move back into the woods. "I'll talk for Jacob and you two," he motioned to Rileanna and Seth, "and we can plan a way to get Tam back." he said, a serious look on his face.
It was hard and slow, strategizing with four people who only had one voice. But we got through it. Rileanna's idea for splitting them up was good. She, Jacbob and Seth could draw them out and in circles with their strange scent, then Renesmee, Edward, Bella and I would fright off the vampires around Tam and get the hell out of their. Bella, Rileanna, Edward, Tam and I had powers that could render the enemy vulnerable, which was a good. Maybe, just maybe, we could take all forty of them on. Just a little bit at a time. |
Edward spoke for Seth, Jacob and I, since we needed to be prepared to fight in case on of the vampires holding Tam found us. We spent about five minutes doing so, then agreed that splitting them up would be best. Us wolves would walk around them, amke a little bit of noise and let them catch our scent. Then some of them would hopefully come to find out who we were, and we would destroy them. Meanwhile, Nessie, Edward, Bella and Icy would attack the vampires that were gaurding Tam. I was kind of excited, I looked at it as somewhat of a competition. Tough I was still extremely worried, if I lost Icy.... I shuddered just thinking about it. Or Seth. Or Renesmee. I sighed and then headed off to attack some vampires.

Rileanna, Seth and Jacob began their part of the plan. Edward, Bella, Renesmee and I waited for the other vampire to take the bait and scram. Hopefully, some of Tam's guards would also go.
I heard a deep growl from across the clearing, and all the vampires snapped into alertness. There were more growls, and to the untrained ear, they sounded threatening, but to me, I could tell that Rileanna was much more excited about this thea her pack. I smiled, my spirits lifted by hers. Thirty-two of the vampire charged into the woods, snarling and confused. That left just the guards and the ones holding Tam down for us. Edward was the leader now in our little rescue mission and we waited for his signal to attack. They one minute Edward held me back felt like an hour. I could not wait to tear apart the one who dared touch Tam in such a manner. My anger was slowly replacing my fear and sadness. Edward lifted his hand only a fraction of a inch, and I sprang on my enemies. They were caught completely off guard, and in their surprise, Tam got free. He was by my side. "I knew you would hear me." he whispered thankfully in my ear. I nodded, but then, with my eyes, told him we would talk later. The five of us then fell upon the vampires. Tam used his music to deafen the vampires, I slowed them down, and hen Renesmee would touch them, overloading their minds with hate that left them stunned. Edward and Bella then tore them to bits. I knew that The other vampires that had survived the pack's attack would hear Tam's music and come running. Hopefully their numbers were smaller now. |
Jacob, Seth and I growled, pacing along the edges of the clearing, easily catching the evil vampires attention. About thirty two came running toward us. Oh crap, that as quite a few. Even though there were so many of them, we were still able to rip about ten of them into shreds within fifteen minutes. It was difficult, but we had the advantage of surprise, and they were confused as to what we were and why we were after them. I let another snarl rip through my teeth as I lunged for another vampire. As I sank my teeth into him, he crushed my shoulder, and there was a loud crack. Ouch dammit! That hurt like hell. And it would take atleast an hour for it to heal. Riles! Are you alright? Seth asked, anxious. I'm fine, take care of that vampire though. I limped off, facing the fight scene the whole time. I concentrated then, and set all the vampire shreds on fire. Those remaining were horrified by this turn of event. "What are you?!" One of them snarled, cursing as Seth's teeth found their mark on her neck.
A few minutes later Icy, Nessie, Bella, Edward and Tam showed up, and after that quickly finished them off. |
It was done. All the wretched vampires were dead. Well, not quite. I found the head of one, lying there in the dirt. I was about to call Rileanna over to burn the thing, but then I found an opportunity to get the information I wanted. I walked over to the head, tilted it so it was looking at me and then asked it "Who sent you?" I asked, using an icy calm tone. That freaked her out. I was surprised this had even worked. "C-c-ciaus." she said, having a hard time talking. That was all I needed. I threw the head in Rileanna's direction. This was the most she had used her fire power and she looked pretty hyped. But something was wrong, she was hurt. I could see it. "Riles, you alright?" I asked walking over to my sister.

I watched as the others destroyed all the remaining vampires, not able to do anything except set the peices on fire. I watched as Icy asked one of the heads who had sent them. I still thought it was the Volturi, though the head proved me wrong. "C-c-caius." The head said, having a difficult time speaking cut off from it's body. Then Icy tossed it in my direction, I set it on fire mid-air. It was actually really cool to watch, one second there's this head flying in the air, then it's a ball of fire. "Riles are you alright?" I nodded, even though my shoulder was aching a bit, I knew it was already starting to heal. It would only be about half an hour now and I would be back to normal. Well, if you could call me normal anyway.

I smiled and nodded. Rileanna was okay. And so was Tam. I felt relief wash over me and I readied myself for a beating form Carlise. I walked over Tam and embraced him. I had not he chance when I was a human, so I did not know the difference, but Bella told me it was a big one. I walked around our little rescue group and thanked everyone for coming along, and apologized ahead of time for all the trouble I probably got them in. Bella, Renesmee and Edward were fine, they had also wanted to come after Tam. Jacob and Seth were find as well, given that Jacob was the leader.
We headed the slow trek back home. Everyone ran as fast as they could without pushing any limits, for we were all much to tired to make an effort back home. I hoped and preyed that Rileanna would be spared too much hassle. Mom and Dad were never really those to ground, but disappearing must really put them off. |
After all the pieces of vampire had finished burning, and my shoulder had healed enough so that I could run, we started to go back home. I was a little afraid of what punishment I would get for dissapearing for two days, and sighed. Unlike the first time, I would probably get grounded. For one, it was my second time dissapearing and I couldn't use getting lost as an excuse. I would have to think of another one. Got any ideas guys? I asked, knowing that Jacob, Seth and Edward could hear me, and Edward would probably ask the others. "Riles wants to know if any of you have an idea for what she can give as an excuse to her parents." Well, this mind reading thing did come in handy quite often I supposed, even though it was kind of annoying.
What if you just told them you were kidnapped or something? And then you ran away from them the first chance you got. Jacob though, thinking of different ways to make that work. I don't think that'll work Jake, I mean my parents would call the police and probably ask me for descriptions, and then maybe even hire someone to watch our house or something. Besides, then the school would get in trouble for not keeping a better eye on their students and... I let that thought trail off, letting Jacob think about it. I knew Seth was trying as hard as he could to find a way to keep me out of trouble, but so far he was coming up blank. I could always say that I got locked in a refrigerator at school. I suggested, not really serious, Edward snorted. "And who locked you in?" He asked, joking. Hmm, maybecuz I was in the kitchen helping or something, and then one of the ladys told me to go get something from the closet and I accidentaly walked into the refridgerator that is only for storing stuff and doesn't get used often. Though I suppose that that would get the school into trouble too. |
I tried to think of something that might help spare my sister the problems she would face back home. "You could say that Seth snatched you away for a trip to the circus, a whiles away, and you didn't have the time to tell them and you thought you left a note?" I suggested I knew it sounded pretty silly, but it might work...
Rileanna seemed to take that into account as we reached the Cullen's house. We said out goodbyes and I hugged my giant wolf of a sister luck. I watched as she padded off with her pack and then turned my attention to my problems back at my new home. Tam held me close and comforted me with a soft tune. Alice opened the back door for us while we were still a long ways away. Unlike Rileanna, I had no excuses as to why I had disappeared. Everyone in that house knew why I had run off and where I was headed. Carlise looked like he was about to explode. But to my surprise, it seemed like worry was his emotion, not anger. But of course, that could just be Jasper working his magic. Before he or anyone else could say anything, I spoke up. "I know I didn't listen to you and left and put myself in danger, but I honestly could not stand sitting and waiting for either Tam to just come back, or for someone to send us a ransom message." I stated simply, hoping they would understand. |
A circus, that could work. Only that might get Seth into trouble. Don't worry about it, if it gets you out of trouble i'm all for it. It would suck if you got grounded, then you wouldn't be able to come down to La Push. Seth thought, truly not caring about himself at all. I sighed, if I couldn't think of anything else, then that was what I was going to use. When we reached the Cullen's house, Icy hugged me and went inside. We wolves padded off into the forest. Jacob to go to La Push, me to go to my house, and Seth to follow me. He wasn't going to come in, but he was coming with me anyway. We ran as fast as possible, both our minds working double time to try to think of any other excuse. And, if I was going to go with the circus one, why hadn't I called them? Maybe cuz the power was out at the hotel and all the public places within a three mile radius, and it was late? Ya, that could work.
I quickly threw on my clothes, and walked around to the front door. Taking a deep breath and bracing myself for whatever yelling I might get, I opened the door and walked inside. "Hi Dad." I said, cringing when he whirled to face me and began to ask questions. "Where the hell have you been Rileanna?! Your Mother and I have been worried sick, this is the second time you've dissapeared without telling us!" His face was red, and he was screaming all this at me quite loudly. "Didn't you get my note?" I asked, knowing that of course he hadn't gotten my note, because I'd never written one, but I was trying to go along with my plan. "What note?" He asked, a little more calmly. "Well, Seth took me to the circus in Seattle, and I didn't have time to tell you so I wrote you a note because neither of you answered your phones at work. All the power went out at the hotel we were staying at, along with anyplace that had a phone within a three mile radius, so I wasn't able to call you. I'm sorry." I said, letting that sink in, I was usually a very convincing lier, and he seemed to buy it. |
I breathed deeply. I knew that I could not truly breath any more, but it was a habit. Carlise rubbed his temples. "We need to move." he said, falling down onto the couch. Esme came and sat by his side. Everyone tensed up a little. Bella sighed. "Charlie was starting to pick up on it anyway. He tried, but he's a smart person, he would have figured it out sooner or later." she said. Charlie? Chief Charlie Swan? "Yes." Edward answered my thoughts. I let it go. From the tension in the air, despite Jasper's power, I knew right now was not the time for off topic questions. "Move?" I asked, just wanting to get a clearing picture on what that meant. Rosalie answered. "We need to get out of Forks. We've been here far to long and people might start catching on now that all this shit is happening. If we conveniently disappear, all will go back to normal for everyone here." she said in a bland tone. I nodded. Tam had his arms wrapped around my waist from behind and rested his head on my shoulder. "So..." Emmet started. "Where are we going, and when to we leave?" he asked. Carlise shrugged. "I don't know yet." he said.
I went up to my room. Tam followed behind me. "Why do I feel like this is my fault?" I asked him. He rubbed my shoulders and looked out the window with me. "It's not your fault. It's nobody's fault but the Volturi's. They sent Ciaus away and he made all his happen, and the vampires that kidnapped me had followed him. He had wanted to make his own hoard and take Volterra for himself. I heard them talking about it." Tam said, a not too pleased look on his face. "They kidnapped me, trying to get to you. They saw you kill their master. They wanted payback.." he explained. I nodded. I wondered how Rileanna was doing. Did she take me up on my circus idea? Did it work? |
Since my Mother had been at work when I first got home, I called her, not wanting her to worry anymore. "RILEANNA DILEV!" She had screeched at me when I told her it was me. "DIDN"T I TELL YOU NOT TO DO THAT AGAIN TO ME?!" At that point I held the phone away from my ear, since I was a werewolf, I could hear things much louder than most could in my human form, and as a wolf I could hear extremely well. "YOU ARE GROUNDED FOR THREE MONTHS. THAT MEANS NO TV, NO PHONE, NO COMPUTER. WHERE WERE YOU?!" Once she stopped screaming so that I could explain, Mom decided that I would only be grounded for two months. Well, I wasn't planning on going along with her no computer or phone rules, I would just have to be quiet about using those. After I got off the phone with her, I headed outback to run as a wolf for a bit, and then maybe go over to the Cullens. Dad had left to go fishing, and Mom wouldn't be home till eight, so I would be able to get back before either of them realized I was gone.
Yo, Edward, tell Icy i'll be there in a minute. I thought, trying to scream my thoughts so that he would hear them. I had run for a while as a wolf, and then doubled back to the Cullens to see Icy. It was nice to get away from reality for a while, and the easiest way to do that was become a wolf. Though sometimes, that didn't work because Jacob or Seth were in my head. |
"Icy?" Edward called. Well, he did not really call, he more like said it, but I could hear him. "Yeah?" I asked back dully. "Your sister is on her way." he said. That perked me up. If she was on her way, things must not be that bad. I hoped she would get here soon.
Tam and I walked down the stairs. Carlise was going over all the places we could move again. The most favored one was to move back in with Tanya and her clan. They were like us, vegetarians. But that would bring our troubles to them, which we did not want. I sighed and looked out the window. I needed Rileanna. |
Once I was close to the Cullen's house, I phased back and slipped on my clothes. Wondering if Edward had told Icy that I was coming, I ran to the back of the house and walked in the glass door. "Hello peoples!" I said, skipping over and kerplopping myself on the couch next to Alice. "Heya." She said, not really with us. She was probably having one of her visions. Then Icy asked me how much trouble I'd gotten into. "Well, I got yelled at, banned from the computer, phone and television for two months, and got grounded for two months. But they did buy the circus story, they were just mad that I hadn't told them about it beforehand. It's no big deal, I can sneak out, and sneak on the computer if need be. And I have my cell phone that they don't know about." I heard Carlisle and Esme talking quietly upstairs, something about Tanya's family and moving. I didn't like the sound of that. "What are Carlise and Esme doing?" I asked, confused now. Maybe they were just talking about Tanya's family moving, but it sounded kinda like they were planning which places would be good for them to move to, and if they moved then Icy would be moving too.

I heaved a sigh, another one of my human habits, as Rileanna told me she was alright. Then she asked me about what Carlise and Esme were talking about. "Well...." I hesitated. I knew that we were moving indefinite. I had no idea to say that. Yeah I could just spit it out but.... "We're moving. Carlise says that people are starting to wonder and too much crap has been going on with us to make us seem normal." I said with a frown on my face. I needed to figure out a way to tell my parents I was going to be gone for good. That I would never be coming back. But how?

When Icy told me they were moving, the only thing I could think was that I wanted to go with them. "I'm coming too." I announced, but then started thinking about Seth. "And so is Seth I suppose." I added, because I knew that if I was going, then he would be sure to follow. Before anyone could respond to that, Edward said, "Fake your death." I turned to him, surprised, but realized he was looking at Icy. "What did I miss?" I asked, because I assmued that he was probably answering one of her thoughts. Maybe to let Mom and Dad know that she would never be coming back? Edward nodded, and I sighed, adn started trying to think of ways that she could 'die'. And, if I was going to go with them, there was no doubt in my mind that I wasn't, then I might need to fake my death too. "Hey Riles!" Somebody, sounded like Emmet, called, and my head snapped over to the clear back wall. Emmet and Rosalie were just coming out of the trees. "Heya!" I said back, knowing that he would hear me.
Emmet and Blondie walked in, I think I got that nickname from Jacob, and Emmett challenged me to a game of chess. I accepted and grabbed the board. Rosalie just glared, she obviously didn't like the fact that Emmett and I got along so well. But whatever, that was her problem. |
"Fake my death.....?" I said, as both a question and a statement. Edward nodded. Just then, Rileanna called to Emmet and Rosalie, who were coming back from hunting. When Emmet got here, he challenged Rileanna to chess. She jumped up and got the board. I sighed and then turned back to Edward. "Talk to me." I said, basically telling him to tell me what he was thinking.
As Emmet and Rileanna played chess, Edward, Tam and I planed on ow we could get this to work. "Well we have to cover your skin mostly." Tam said. Edward nodded. "Yes, your skin might look unreal, but it also doesn't look dead." he said I nodded. "I cold roll around in some mud or somethin'..." I mumbled. "You can roll around in a ditch then one of us could "find" you and tell your parents.." Tam said. "Rileanna can "find" you. But next we need to know what to do about the funeral." Edward said. Alice popped in then. "Make it a closed casket ceremony." she said, sitting next to Edward. I shook my head. "I've already expressed my want to be cremated. Just because the thought of being in a little box six feet under gives me the creeps. I've watch too much CSI." I said with a nervous giggle. "How could we make that work? Fire kills vampires. More or less." Tam said. "Rileanna might be able to help with that." Alice said. "Hey, Riles!" Alice called. |
Even though I was playing chess, I was still listening to the planning of Icy's 'death' and when Alice called to me, I knew exactly how this could be made to work. "Nice." Edward said, picking comments out of my head agian, though I was starting to get used to it. Alice cocked her head at him, waiting for an answer, but I spoke first. "Let's say that when we're supposed to cremate her, I bow out because I can't stand to watch the cremating, then, since my power works best as a wolf, I shape the fire around the box and create a pathway for her to get out. We'd have to do this right by a forest so that I can be close, and everyone is going to have to be on one side so that they don't see the pathway." I said, everything coming out in a rush. I would definately have to practice that first, and work on it so that I could be sure I wouldn't mess up. Alice nodded, and then I realized that Jasper wasn't there. "Where's Jasper?" I asked, thinking that maybe he was out hunting or something.

I smiled. Rileanna was the best. "Thats awesome! That way Everyone thinks they know I'm in the fire and the no one can tell with the ashes. But you want to come. How are you going to "die"? I ask. I knew that Carlise might not want to bring Rileanna along, and in in turn drag Seth with. But Jacob would be following Renesmee anyways. Might as well bring the whole pack. Edward nodded. "I'd be pretty surprised if Jacob didn't order Seth and Riles to come along." he said, answering my thoughts. Rileanna was confused for a moment, but she picked up.
To Rileanna's qustion about Jasper, Alice answered "He's out hunting. I wasn;t hungry and Carlise needed me to stay, just in case." she said. She then looked to Tam. "Got any ideas on how to make Riles disappear?" she asked. "Riles can scatter Icy's "ashes" on the cliffs in La Plush and "fall off" and "drown"." Tam suggested. I looked to Rileanna. She was not one to be careless, but her want for a thrill might be a good excuse. "What do ya think?" I asked her. |
I nodded, that sounded like a fun way to "die", I felt guilty about leaving the Zalens, but tried to forget about it. "Do I actually get to jump off the cliff? Well, make it look like I fall, but since my parents are going to want to come with me, then i'll just 'accidentally' loose my footing and fall." I said, and thinking about leaving my parents, made me think about my biological parents, or father atleast. I would have to make sure to push him into the fire before we left,or maybe now that I had control over fire I could just set his hair on fire, or maybe wait till he phased and then set him on fire. Yeah, that would totally work. And it would be a hell of a lot of fun to watch. Edward snorted, distracting me from my train of thought. "Something funny?" Bella asked, obviously curious. "Riles is thinking about setting Paul on fire. Oh, and Jacob and Seth will be here in a moment." He said, and Nessie came running down the stairs. It was amazing that after only a few months, she looked a year older. I grinned, happy that I would get to see Seth. "So, where are we moving?" I asked, thinking of places that we could move. Ireland? Maybe not, even though it rained almost every day there, it wasn't always overcast.

I smiled. Rileanna's plan worked perfectly. When she asked where we were moving I shrugged. "I've no idea. Edward?" I asked, turning to the bronze-haired vampire. He did not say anything at first. "We'll be heading to Tanya's first. She might be able to help us find a new place to live. Ireland sound pretty nice, but the not always overcast part is a downside." he said. I cocked my head at him. No one had said anything about Ireland. Someone must have thought about moving there. Rileanna was my suspect.
Not to long after we all worked out the kinks on how Rileanna and I were going to "die", Jasper came back. Alice flitted over to his side like she always did and the two of thm came and sat down with us. We talked things over with Jasper, the military guy he was, and we were set. I looked up to the clock. "Riles," I started. "You might wan to head home. Don't want mom and dad finding you out of the house." I said playfully, but seriously. Rileanna had gone through enough for me, I did not want her in any more trouble. |
Tanya's? Oh, right, Tanya, Kate, Carmen and, was it Elijah or something? "Eleazer." Edward corrected, and I nodded. Then sighed, I had always wanted to go to Ireland, well, maybe I would. Someday.
Working out the kinks in our death plan took a little while, then Jasper came in and Allice was at his side in a flash. I kept eyeing the clock, not wanting to get in trouble again, especially since I'd been grounded. So when Icy pointed out that fact, I sighed, but stood up anyway and said my goodbyes. I got home just in time, Dad was unloading his fishing gear into the garage, so I dashed in the back door, into the kitchen and threw a frozen macaroni and cheese into the microwave and poured myself some milk. I had just barely sat down when Dad walked in. "Hey." I said, and scooped a burning hot bite of mac n cheese into my mouth. He looked at me kind of suspicously, but said hello and went to the phone to call, yet again, the police station to see if there was anything new on Icy. Of course, there wasn't, but I asked anyway, pretending to be sad when he said no. |
Carlise and Esme came down shortly after Rileanna left. I wondered what we were going to do. Tanya's would probably be the most probable place we were going. For now. Our two problems were the Volturi, would they come to Tanya's and wreck havoc there too? And then Rileanna and her pack. If Renesmee was leaving, Jacob would go with her. Same situation with Rileanna and myself. Seth also mixed in there. Then Leah, Seth's older sister would also come. That was the entire Jacob pack. Tanya's family tolerated the werewolves, but living with them was another thing completely. Edward nodded, saying "yes" to my thoughts.
We all sat on the couches, talking aobut what our next move was. "First, we need to come up with a reason for Icverna's disappearance, and why we are taking her with us." Carlise said. Edward and Tam looked at me, saying "you tell him" with their eyes. "We're gonna fake my death." I told the father vampire. He cocked his head to one side. "And how are you going to do that?" he asked. After Tam, Edward, Bella, Alice, Jasper and I explained out plan, Carlise nodded. "That works quite well." He said thoughtfully. "Rileanna will be "dieing" with Icy, so that she too can come with us." Edward answered Carlise's thoughts. Carlise nodded again. "Aha. I assume you have a plan for that one too?" he asked. The six of us nodded. "Well," Carlise stood. "No time like the present. Icy, head over to your house and talk to you sister. Plan a way that she can find you in a ditch." he said. "The rest of you, lets pack up. Tam, you can see Icy when you're done." and with that, I was the only one left standing in the large living room. I ran to my house. The sun was setting and the red twilight was beautiful. It almost looked like it was burning. I stopped to watch it fade away on our roof, my feet making no sound to tell those inside I was there. It pained me to come here and not tell my parents what had happened, where I was, what I was now. But I could not. We had enough problems with the Volturi. Once the orange light of the sky faded away into darkness, I slipped down to our window. Rileanna was sure to be in our room. I tapped on the window, hoping it was okay for me come in. |
A little while later, mom still wasn't home, and dad said he was going to run out to the store. After he left I snatched a beer. I normally didn't do that, but I seriously wanted one. And I was only going to have a little bit anyway. So I dashed up to my room, and pulled out my homework, calculus was still giving me a little bit of confusion, but I did the best I could. After I finished my homework, I hopped onto the computer, it had been quite a while since i'd gotten on Facebook. Wow, I had a lot of friend requests. Probably people from school, though when I looked at the names, one of the was Paul Black.
I was so furious I almost phased right then, but I managed to keep it under control. What the hell was he doing, asking to be my friend on Facebook?! I was in the middle of taking a sip of my beer when I heard a tap at the window. My first thought was that Seth wouldn't be very happy if I was drinking. But I relaxed when I realized was Icy, and went to open the window for her. "Hey, what's up?" I asked, as she climbed inside. |
I smiled and climbed into our room. "I'm here to talk over when you're finding me in a ditch. I'm not to sure-" I was cut off by a strange smell. On Rileanna's computer desk, there was a beer. I raised an eyebrow. "I presume dad didn't give that to you?' I asked playfully. It was just like Rileanna to snag a beer.
After we giggled about the beer and what Seth would say, I returned to why I was here. "So, again, I'm here to clear up when you're finding me in a ditch. With your whole grounded business, how do you think it'll work out?" I asked. I knew that being grounded would not hold Rileanna back form sneaking out, but we had make seem real. |
