Tybalt had been awake for a long while by the time Las had come-to. His wounds had been bandaged, but his entire body still ached as he lay, eyes half-opened, watching the Princess interact with the stranger and his pet. He wished to retrieve his compass and to return to his study where he could tinker and invent to his heart's content..
But he was still stuck in the palace. He was still stuck in that same dammed infirmery with that same dammed stranger. Slowly, the elf sat up. His dark, messy hair falling over his unusually paled features, he looked almost as rough as he felt. 'I'll get some water and be on my way, I think..' He edged himself off the bed, trying his best to ignore the others in the room as he concentrated on keeping himself standing. {ooc}: I won't be able to post tomorrow. ^^ Don't get too far ahead me, alright? |
Soleil caught sight of Tybalt getting out of bed. Her eyes flooded with concern as she saw it was difficult for him to move.
Her dress rustled as she moved from the bench into the infirmary. Eira was next to the man who had attacked and that cute little dog was sitting on the man's chest. She felt nervous with Eira that close to the man, especially since he had woken up. Not to mention that it was very suspicious that he had suddenly picked up a book and began reading like everything was fine. Soleil reached Tybalt's bed. With concern, she noticed how pale he was and something told her he was struggling to stay upright. "Do you need help?" she asked him quietly, trying to not attract attention from the others. "I could get you some water or something." |
He was surprised to hear a voice within such a close proximity. Looking up suddenly, he realized that Lady Soleil had come over to see to him. Was that pity he saw in her eyes? "I am fine.." he replied, somewhat startled by how harsh his voice sounded. He cleared his throat and tried again, "...Water? Please." He nodded to her and then sat back down upon the bed.
He hadn't been sleeping well the past few nights, either because he had been up all hours working on his inventions or simply because he couldn't fall asleep. And for some strange reason, his thoughts were often turned to the Princess. Perhaps his subconscious had picked up on the stranger's arrival even before it had happened, and had some how known that the Princess would be endangered by this man? Somehow, Ty thought not. '..It is difficult to think just now...I'll think on it later..' He yawned and gazed wearily out the window.. |
Soleil went to get him a glass of water, slightly stung by his harsh tone. But she knew he was probably in a lot of pain. And for whatever reason (Soleil just couldn't fathom why) men just had this thing where they didn't want to look weak. Soleil sighed. This had started out as such a pleasant day, and now this man had put everyone on edge.
She put the glass on the table next to Tybalt's bed and offered a smile, hoping to cheer him up. Soleil thought that it was time they started asking this man some questions because she didn't want the Princess so near him until they knew why he was there. She didn't want him poking that sharp metal stick anywhere near the Princess. |
All this talk was seriously disturbing Zane's nap. 'One would think,' he thought to himself, 'that having to endure being in this accursed body would be enough! Instead I have to listen to that man complain about how thirsty he is, THAT one,' as his puppy eyes shifted to Soleil, 'pining over him when he will OBVIOUSLY be fine, and all the General can think to do is read a book! We need to get out of here...'
All of this he thought, but to everyone in the room, all that happened was the dog in the chair yawned and repositioned itself for better napping. {OOC- Going to eat, probably be on later. Pectoris can move my dog as he sees fit.} |
She was a bit surprised by the question, to say the least. How had her village run without violence? Was spell-like eternal peace not an option to live by? What confused Eira was how people could possibly live and function normally acting out such hostility to mere strangers. Was it that unbelievable that the world could come to a state of being able to trust fellow human beings without having to worry if they'll, say, grab you and use you as a hostage?
"That's just the way it's always been in Aurora Grove..." She answered simply. There was no real other response she could give. It was all she knew. Seeing that Tybalt had finally come to, Eira removed herself from the wounded general's presence momentarily to go accompany the man she'd grown accustom to having here in the palace. Growing up she'd always known him as the young man always coming up with brilliant new ideas and inventions. She sat perched on the edge of his bedside, looking over his wounds. "How are you feeling?" She queried, laying the soft, pale skin of her wrist against his forehead to feel his temperature. |
When Eira left the general's side, Soleil took her place, having overheard the general's question.
"What do you mean, without fighting?" Soleil was confused and a frown wrinkled her brow. "I don't know what fighting is." She thought for a moment, then remember her mother telling stories about people who couldn't get along and were always hurting each other - like this man had done to Eira. Her mother had said that they were just fairy tales, intending to show that peace and love are what truly make people happy. Could this man possibly think that no one could exist without those type of fairy tale things? "But how could anyone survive with them?" she asked out loud, more to herself than to anyone around. |
the stepped over to the one armed man's bed and and felt something odd burn within him. a hot angry feeling he couldn't describe, which was very strange, because he normally didn't feel. the height of his emotional spectrum was the adrenaline rush he got in battle. everything else he said and did he did on instinct or because it was strategically correct to get what needed or wanted. he had never really been happy, or sad, or angry, or anything of the sort. he just saw the situation and acted. but now, now he felt something. when the princess cut off their conversation and perched on the angry cripple's bed, he felt something unpleasant, and he couldn't describe it. it overwhelmed him. "Hey! i was talking to you!" he called harshly, reaching to his hip, but remembering his weapons were not on him. by that point however, the girl who had hit him with the vase had come to his side.
"how could anyone survive with them?" she asked him. "it's how you keep the people in line. it's how you show people you are in charge. the only way to gain respect is to demand it. you two ladies may not have noticed, but i'll bet what i'm saying makes sense to him." Las said pointing at the one-armed man. "that's why he destroyed my sword. he was demanding respect from me when i showed him none. looks to me like there's a black sheep in your perfect world." he smiled internally, calling out the one-armed man and planting a seed of doubt in his friends seemed to satisfy that burning feeling he had. |
{ooc}: As I said, I won't be able to get on tomorrow. :C
{bic}: "Thank you." He nodded to the woman as she handed him a glass of water. The liquid was cool and refreshing agianst his parched throat and it seemed to soothe his entire being. The aching in his body dulled slightly and he felt the turmoil within his mind begin to subside. Rest was really all he needed now.. He blinked, a little surprised that the Princess had managed to pull herself away from the hostile stranger and that she now sat beside him, "I am fine. I'll need to change out my bandages this afternoon, but I think I should be back to relatively normal health in a week's time." Her cool skin against his feverish brow seemed to work the same sort of magic on him that the glass of water had and he felt himself relax slightly. The harsh words from the stranger broke that sense of calm, however. Tybalt felt frustration tie a tight knot in his ribcage when he looked across the room at the man, "..I didn't want your respect, fool. I wanted you rid of that strange tool of yours so you couldn't hurt anyone with it." His brow furrowed, Tybalt downed the last of his water. EDIT: The next post I write will probably be my last for this evening. ^^;; |

what time must you be leaving us this evening? :. |
[[OOC: I probably won't be on much tomorrow. I have church->play practice->the Oscars]]
Soleil was beginning to feel another foreign feeling build in her chest. Something about the man's tone was making her feel strange. It was like when she was annoyed by her mother, only stronger. Much stronger. All she knew was that this man came in and threatened the Princess, and when they try to help him he's rude! Soleil crossed her arms and narrowed her green eyes at the man. "Even though you come in here unannounced and threaten the Princess, we still help you once you are wounded. And yet you are rude to us! Why do you assume that we ladies know nothing? Ladies of the court have as much influence as the men." Soleil tried to put her feelings into words, but what words do you use when you don't know what you are feeling? All Soleil could manage was "You may think you know everything, but you could stand to learn something from us." |
.: ooc:Everyone's going to be gone tomorrow it seems. ): :.
Eira observed the conversation and escalating tempers silently, her head following one side to the other like a tennis match. At Tybalt's final remark, she turned to him and as reassuringly as she could insured that she was alright. The cut she'd received was hardly noticeable after all. She took into account that the man's forehead was quite warm and reached for a damp cloth that had been placed on his bedside table. Folding it neatly, she gently set the cool cloth where the inside of her wrist had been momentarily, hoping that it would help in bringing his fever down. Turning back to the conversation which Soleil had joined as well, Eira continued to watch with a mystified expression. "What is it that you seek in coming here?" She asked softly to the stranger, her voice hardly audible over the voices of the others. |
[ooc---anybody who isn't going to be on tomorrow should make a post finding a reason for their character's absence. thank you!!!!)
"i seek nothing here," he replied to the princess, ignoring the others and highly pleased that she was speaking to him again, "i was sent here against my will in the midst of a great battle. i was on my horse slaying my foes, with great skill, i might add, when suddenly i was knocked off of my horse by something, i looked up to find an ancient priest standing over me and the next thing i knew i woke up here. from there i sought information, supplies, and intelligence. all of which i can see i'm not going to recieve seeing as how you're all oblivious to anything that could be helpful to me." and with that he lifted the book once more and began reading, all the while stealing glances over the book at the princess. |
{ooc}: Could we pause the role-play? Just for tomorrow? It doesn't seem like we'd be very productive if half our group is gone..
Aaand...I have to leave now. x3 Tah~ |
[[OOC: I'm still going to come up with a reason for my character to be out of the roleplay for a bit because exams are coming up and I have a ton of school work + play practice and I'll probably only be able to post once or twice a day during the week]]

{OOC- Quick explanation for my sudden absence last night >.< After eating, guy who lives with us was on, then the menewsha site was down by the time I got back on.}
{[BIC]} *Puppy snore* |
This man was nothing more than a concieted fool. Tybalt watched him in utter disbelief as he first explained to them his 'purpose' and then insulted them almost all in the same breath. When at last the General ended his monologue and went back to reading, Ty turned slowly back to the Princess. Fury was evident in his fair features as he gently pushed away the cloth she had pressed to his warm forehead.
"I'm afraid that I cannot stay here for much longer, my lady." He did his best to keep his voice even, "..I will be returning to my home within the hour, though I appreciate all the time and care you and Lady Soliel have given me." He nodded slowly before turning back to the General. He seemed to have reigned in his seething temper a bit, "..And I expect to be taking my compass with me." He looked at the man pointedly, his gaze unwavering. |
.: ooc: Hai! (: I know Adflicta won't be logging until at least 8:30 EST, but it's awesome to see you back!:.
A bit taken aback by the harshness found in the tones of both of the wounded men, Eira frowned, not exactly sure how to respond. Seeing as that the general had gone back to his reading, she returned her gaze to her old acquaintance. "You're...you're leaving?" She asked lightly, concern written all over her face. She suddenly felt a wave of guilt fall over her, realizing that because she had been the one to bring the general back to the palace in the first place, it was partially her fault that that this man had been so wounded. "If you like I can arrange a room for you in another part of the palace? It's quite a walk all of the way back to the residential area of the village...and you need rest.." Hearing his request, her eyes widened, confused until she remembered having seen the compass which he had spoken of earlier when the general and herself had barged in on his presentation of it to the board. Getting up, she glided across the infirmary to where the newcomer's possessions had been placed, silently looking through them until she'd found the pouch containing the device. She moved to return back to Tybalt, an earnest dazzle in her eyes. "Here you are..." |
He took the compass as it was given to him and sighed inwardly. Would he never leave this palace? Would he never be allowed to return to his inventions? It wasn't as though he was being forced to stay in the palace, Tybalt knew, but how could he refuse such an invitation from the Princess? And how could he live with himself if he was to return to his home, knowing full and well that he had left the young woman and her friend alone with such a harsh figure as the General lurking within the vacinity?
He fiddled with the compass half-heartedly before looking back at the Princess and nodding, "..A room would be most appreciated, my lady, if it isn't any trouble." {ooc}: It's all good. xD I should be on and off all this afternoon and into this evening. |
.: ooc: Oh yay, same here. (: For now it's just the two of us I'm afraid, but the others should be getting on eventually. :.
Eira smiled lightly, happy to hear that the man would indeed stay for the evening. She felt it was the least she could do, and his positive response helped her in reassuring herself that she was doing well in making that effort. "It would be no trouble at all, sir. I could escort you there now, if you like. Or, if you'd prefer, a suitable guide to lead you there? Do you think you can stand?" She asked gently and again feeling his temple, concern apparent on her brow. "I'm afraid you still have quite a temperature from that fall...were you feeling ill prior to today?" Although her abilities were mainly in the health and restoration of botany, she had always had a strong desire to help others, particularly those who'd been hurt. She sat at the edge of Tybalt's bed once again, waiting for a response to see if she should offer assistance in case he'd decided to take her up on her offer and wished to go rest in his quarters at this time. |
"I'm feeling much better, my lady. I'm sure I'll be able to make it." He smiled and chuckled, trying to add a bit of humor to the situation, but doubted that he did a good job of it. At this point, he just wanted to get out of that blasted infirmery and away from that destructive stranger. Not to mention, if he could just have a moment to speak alone with the Princess and perhaps voice his concerns...
He got to his feet and mantained relative balance to show that he would be perfectly capable of making the journey. Ty managed to hide how the aching in his head bothered him rather well, though there was something subtle in his facial expressions that gave him away no matter how hard he tried, "Shall we, then?" |
Eira had definitely noticed the hesitation and worried glances cast upon her from both Lady Soleil and Tybalt. She had yet to address the issue concerning the matter of the violent and rude outbursts of this stranger, and she knew that this was causing some growing weariness among her fellow peers.
Noticing the obvious discomfort in the man, Eira raised a brow, curious as to whether or not it would be appropriate of her to offer assistance yet again. Lightly biting her velvety, pink lower lip, she came around to Tybalt's side of the hospital, hesitating before offering a hand. "Are you sure? I don't mean to make you uncomfortable...you just appear awful pale, sir," |
"...appear awful pale, sir..."
Before the ailing man had an opportunity to answer, he was interrupted by a short 'Yip' and a yawn from the chair in the corner. Even as a pup, Xander was obviously bored with these customary niceties. Instead of trying to find further rest in this crowded infirmary he hopped down from the chair and plopped his way back towards the garden. "Atleast I may be able to study some of the plant life..." |
Las could feel that burning welling up inside him once more. what was this feeling? why did he feel so compelled to kill that cripple when the princess spoke to him in that manner? so sappy, so..... caring. it was infuriating. he just couldn't seem to put his finger on what was going on. he couldn't even concentrate on his book any longer. he felt compelled to cause harm to something, but he felt that any further attempts on these people would be a waste of time. so he decided to go hunting. he slowly rose from his bed, head still throbbing slightly, and began gathering his gear without a word.
|
{ooc}: Daw.. xD Is somebody jealous?
{bic}: Tybalt watched as the little dog sauntered off. Where had that little beast come from, anyway? No matter...He turned back to the Princess and was a tad surprised to see her hand outstretched to him. Did she think he needed help? True, he didn't look or feel like he was in top condition, but he was standing on his own, wasn't he? And even so...He had never needed assistance before, so why should he now, even if it was from the Princess? '..but couldn't a single touch sustain me, if not heal me?' The thought came suddenly before Tybalt could filter it out. To each his own class, his own caste, he reminded himself... He shook his head slowly, gently patting her hand as the Princess offered it, "I am perfectly certain that I am well enough to walk to a different room, my lady. My wounds are minor ones and only cause me mild discomfort, not immobility." He smiled, trying to convey his appreciation for her concern, completely oblivious to the stranger's thoughts or actions (he wouldn't have noticed much of anything, anyway, with the Princess looking at him as she was). |
