"Just fine, love, happy to know you're not hurt" he smiled, but then looked around the battlefield at all of the piles of empty armor, "what on Earth could make such things?" He asked himself, kicking over a large pile of armor and weapons. He looked around at the cheering crowd of soldiers, he saw Shad and Ryudo, so he walked over to them, "hey, Ryudo!" He shouted to get his attention, "did you know anything about this?" He asked him, Ryudo folded his arms, "maybe I did, maybe I didn't, why should I tell you?"
Link growled frustratingly, "well, if you won't tell me, then tell Gabri or the king! Either way, since you were a part of Holodrum's army, they're gonna want answers from you and your two other friends!" He stomped back over to Gabri, still angry at their stupidity, "come on love, lets go back inside for some rest..." he held her hand and started to walk back with her as all the other soldiers began to leave the battlefield. |
Gabri walked with Link, looking back glaring at the two men she would never like. She was glad to be getting away from the battlefield. It was not her favorite place to be.
Once they made it back to Link's room, she stripped of her weapons and shoes. Her body was too hot, so she also removed her pants, revealing shorts. "What's on your mind, love?" |
He removed his armor, his weapon and placed it on the free space on the table by his bed, he did as Gabri did, but removed his shirt instead, placing it with his other equipment. He fell backwards onto his bed, using his hands as a pillow, and he sighed, "I'm thinking about leaving Labrynna, love..." He said it without thinking twice, he wanted to leave, but he didn't exactly say why. "I want to leave... to find myself, to find Hyrule, to finally remember who I truly am."
|
Gabri froze, not sure of what to say. "But...there is still the war going on. Its our job to protect the King and I cannot do it alone. Nor do I trust anyone else to help me." she cried, grasping at straws to get him to stay with her here. She didn't want to lose him.
|
"I never said I wanted to go alone" he reached out and held her hands within his, "come with me... you did say you wanted to run away from all this, I want to as well." He gave her a kiss and then hugged her, trying to calm her down.
|
Thinking it over, she almost collapsed onto the bed. "I did say that...but I didn't think you would actually consider leaving." Gabri wasn't sure of what to think. Her head was swimming with thoughts of leaving.
What would she do about Mother? Who would protect her? And her brothers? Then another question came to her mind. What about her? If she didn't go, she would end up worrying about Link. She would be left here with Shad and her new brother to put up with alone. Gabri looked down at Link, she smiled, leaned in and kissed him. "I will go with you." |
"Great! But, we should leave tomorrow... we still need to say farewell to your family, I promise you though, we'll come back to Labrynna, unless, you want to stay in Hyrule." He kissed her after he was done talking, he cuddled with her and rolled over so she was on top of him.
But, what Link and Gabri didn't know, was that Shad and Ryudo were outside their door, they heard the whole conversation. They quietly left afterwards to go tell the king about their departure plans. |
"So soon?" Gabri said, as she lay atop Link. "I guess I will have to be ready...For you." she smiled, looking into his eyes. She kissed him, then rested her head on his chest. She loved this position, made it easy for her to hear his heartbeat.
|
"What time do you think we should leave then?" He asked her, gently hugging her and smiling.
"What?! Is this true?" Shouted the king in the throne room, Shad nodded his head, "yes your highness, Link and Gabri Ella are planning to leave us in the middle of the war." The king looked down, looking a bit disappointed, he got up out of his throne, "come, we must talk to them" he headed off to Link's room, Shad and Ryudo followed behind him. When they reached his room the king knocked on the door, "Link, open the door!" He said as he knocked. "His highness is here!?" He rolled over, he was on top of Gabri now, he pushed himself up off the bed and grabbed his shirt. He put it on as he ran to the door, then opened it, "uh, hello, your majesty" he said, looking nervous, but then he noticed Shad and Ryudo. "Uhh, come in..." he let them inside, "my boy, I hear you want to leave Labrynna..." Link looked confused, "how did you hear about this...?" He looked over at Shad and Ryudo, standing in the doorway, looking at Link with a smug smirk. He growled and walked over to them, but he was stopped before he could leave the king's side, "not now Link, I need to speak to you..." Link turned to the king, he closed his eyes and his head pointed down, looking upset. "I just want to say... that I encourage your departure" he put his hand on Link's shoulder, Link opened his eyes and was a bit shocked, but Shad and Ryudo were more than shocked, their jaws dropped. The king gave Link a kind smile, "just say the time and I'll do everything in my power to make sure your travels are their safest" Link felt like crying, he was so happy to have such support. "Thank you your highness!" He said, giving the king a quick hug, the king hugged him as well, laughing heartily. Shad and Ryudo grew angry and left the doorway, they headed down the tower to the kitchen for lunch. "I'll leave you alone now Link, please, rest now, that battle must've taken a lot out of both of you, farewell for now" he left Link's room, Link then closed the door. "I'm so excited, love! Aren't you?" He ran back to the bed and sat down, cuddling with her once more. |
Gabri's jaw dropped at the King's support. She couldn't believe he encourage the leave of his two best knights. Grateful for his support though, it would be better that he support them though. Wouldn't want the King out to get them.
She watched in silence as the King left. Gabri saw the happiness in Link's face and tried to mirror it, though she failed miserably. "I'm scared, Link. Of what we might fight out." she said, sitting up on her elbows to look at him. "But, whenever you are ready, so shall I be." |
"I'm scared too love... I can admit that with total honesty, but I'm also excited, I can finally remember who I am now, should we go talk to your mother about this now? Or, would you just like to relax here for a while?" He smiled, giving her a hug, then a kiss, he waited for an answer from her before he'd make another move.
((Sorry, must go to bed now, really sleep, good night!)) |
Gabri looked at the room while she thought about it. Then she turned to Link, "I think we should do it now. To get it out of the way, so that we can rest without worry." She hugged him and kissed him back.
|
"Very well love, but, we'll have to get dressed again now" he laughed weakly, but he gave her one last hug and a kiss before he got up to get his armor on. When he was fully dressed he walked over and stood by the door, paying attention to it as he waited for Gabri to get ready herself.
|
Gabri rose and put her pants back on. She decided to leave her sword here but carry her staff with her, there wasn't much to worry about on the way to her mother's. She put her shoes on and walked over to Link as he studied the door. "Is it an interesting door, love?" she asked him teasingly.
|
He looked over at Gabri as she talked, he laughed nervously and scratched the back of his head, "it is actually" playing around on her joke, he laughed and held the door open for her. When she left, he followed and closed the door behind him, he held her hand and began to descend the tower's staircase to leave the castle. Everything around them seemed pretty mellow, Shad and Ryudo were nowhere to be seen, thankfully, so they managed to leave the castle grounds with no problem. On their way to Gabri's house, Link looked down into the gentle stream across from them, the water was so clear you could see the silvery scales of the fish swimming past.
The slowly setting sun just enhanced the beauty of everything around them, it made him smile, happy to live in such a wonderful place like Labrynna. He hoped that Hyrule was just as beautiful though, or possibly even more, they soon reached the hill where Gabri's house sat upon. He looked at her, then looked at the house and sighed, "here we go..." he said softly, then he climed up the hill with her, squeezing her hand gently. He knocked on the door and waited for Sabrina to answer. |
Gabri Ella took a deep breath and released it just as her mother opened the door. "Oh, hello Link, Gabri Ella." she said without excitement. "Come in. Your brother came by not to long ago."
Gabri looked at Link and then back to her mother. She walked in and took a seat. "I guess this means you know." she said to Sabrina. "Yes...He told me that you and Link were going to leave." Sabrina said and took a seat in the chair across from Gabri Ella and Link. |
Link looked down at the ground when he heard Sabrina's voice, Ryudo was sitting at the table, sipping some tea and he watched Link and Gabri enter then sit on the couch. "You probably know the reason why we want to leave, we can't simply be apart, we would both be sick with worry for each other if I left and she stayed here."
He looked down at the floor, "please understand Sabrina, I need to leave if I'm ever going to truly find out who I really am, and Gabri Ella agreed to go with me. I promise you though, we will return to Labrynna and to you once we discover my past, I can't leave this place forever." |
Sabrina looked at Link and smiled gently. "I understand. I also know that the King agrees with you leaving." She looked down at her hands, which lay in her lap, and continued. "If he encourages it, I am with you all the way."
Gabri Ella looked up at her mother and smiled. "Thank you mother." She got up and hugged her mother. "We will return to be married." It felt so strange saying that. Sabrina's face lit up with surprise. "Married?!" A smile came across her face. She became excited. And a blush came to Gabri's face. |
Link laughed a little bit, but blushed afterwards when Gabri said 'marriage', "yeah, we were planning to get married after the war was over, I'm surprised Ryudo didn't tell you..." He looked over at him confused, but Ryudo ignored him and continued to drink his tea. He shook his head though and focused back on Sabrina and Gabri, "we should probably head back to the castle now, shouldn't we Gabri? Its getting pretty late..." he stood up and gave Sabrina a short bow.
"Thank you Sabrina for being so understanding, we'll come to say our last good-bye before we leave" he gave her a kind hug and smiled. He then waited by the door for Gabri, just in case she wanted to tell her mother some last few things before they head back. |
"Thank you for understanding, mother. I love you." Gabri said as she rose again from her seat. She hugged her mother and glared at her brother. "We'll see you again soon. Bye." Gabri walked to the door, took Link's hand, opened the door and walked out.
"That was easier than I thought. She took it well." Gabri said, looking at the ground as she walked beside Link. |
"yeah... I just feel so bad, she has to put up with Ryudo's nonsense when we go now" he didn't feel like laughing, he was being serious. By the time they made it back to the castle and up to Link's room, the moon was starting to rise into the sky and stars slowly showed up one by one. He took off his armor once again and placed it on the table by his bed, he then climbed into bed and held open the blankets for Gabri to come in and snuggle with him.
|
Gabri smiled at Link. She placed her staff by her sword and removed her pants once again. She laid beside Link in the bed and looked up at him. "When would you like to leave, love?" she said, resting her head on him.
|
"Perhaps after tomorrow, love, I want to spend one last day in Labrynna with you before we go..." he gave her a kiss, then hugged her and allowed her to rest her head on him if she felt like it. He waited for her to fall asleep before he'd pass out himself. When morning came, the sunlight wasn't as bright as it usually was, so Link didn't wake up quickly, he looked down to see Gabri sleeping peacefully beside him. He smiled and kissed her, "good morning love" he whispered to her.
((I'm sorry... REALLY sleep, so I'm heading to bed now, sleep good alright? See ya tomorrow!)) |
Gabri fell asleep, her head on his chest. She awoke to the sound of his voice and the gentle kiss. "Good morning, my love," she whispered, her eyes still closed to the sun. "What would you like to do our last day in Labrynna?"
|
Link took a moment to ponder, "there are some places in the town we can visit that have some fun games, would you like to play them love? We could win something for your little brothers and mother." He gave her a hug and a kiss and grabbed a pillow to help support her head up as he got out of bed. Before he got dressed though, he felt all dirty and gross, it made his skin crawl, "perhaps we should take a bath love, its been a while, hasn't it?" He waited for her to wake up fully over by the door, he was carrying his armor after he picked it up off the table.
