Gabri smiled at Link and then turned to her mother. "Thank you, mother." she said as she hugged her mother tightly. "I promise to return to you safely. Then we shall plan Link and I's wedding." Gabri released Sabrina and looked at her with a smile. "Don't worry about us, we will be fine." she said. She took Link's hand and looked back at her mother.

"I know you will be fine. I'm only crying because I will miss you so much. The both of you." Sabrina said, smiling weakly, looking from Gabri to Link and back again.

"We will miss you too, we'll miss everyone and everything here in Labrynna just as much" said Link, rubbing at his eyes to make the tears stop, he felt so bad about leaving now. He sniffed a little, "farewell Sabrina... we hope to see you and the boys again real soon" he gave her a hug, still holding onto the basket, then he stepped back again, smiling and sniffling. "This beautiful place... is my home away from home" he held onto Gabri's hand gently once more, "good bye Sabrina..." He stayed quiet so Gabri could tell her mother her last good-bye.

Gabri tried her hardest to hold her tears in and almost failed. They fell but not because she let them, because her eyes couldn't hold them any longer. Sabrina's tears fell freely as Gabri took her mother in for one final hug. Sabrina held tight, not wanting her only daughter to leave her. "Mother, don't worry, we will be back." Gabri said into her mother's hair, trying to make her feel confident in their departure.

Sabrina finally released her daughter and smiled through her tears. "I know. Its just hard to see you go." but she let Gabri go because she trusted Link to care for her daughter.

Gabri went to Link and took his hand. She guided him to the door, ready to go, she looked back at her mother and smiled. "I love you, Mother."

"I love you too, sweetie." Sabrina said as she watched Gabri Ella walk out the door.

Link turned his head toward Sabrina and smiled one last time, "see you again soon..." he said, trying to not sound like he was crying, and they left the house, closing the door behind them. They walked across the bridge above the waterfall, to the left of Gabri's house and soon ended up outside the city, inside the Forest of Time. Most of the trees were cut down to make way for visitors from other towns to enter Labrynna, the path they had to take was across the forest. He enjoyed the scenery around them, it was quite lovely and it started to calm him down and he got over his sadness, many small animals were running around in the forest, like foxes, rabbits and raccoons.

A line of trees would've blocked their path if the forest of never cleared, but now there was a hole in the line for them to pass through and walk across the base of the now abandoned mountain town, 'Rolling Ridge'. After passing through all this, they were greeted with more trees and barren dirt paths through the said trees, ready made paths for tourists and traveling merchants. They could hear birds chirping all around them as they walked, the tree branches above them blocked out the bright sunlight slightly, giving them just enough light to see ahead of them.

After about two hours of straight walking, Link grew tired and sat down on a large rock to rest his feet, "Perhaps we should eat what Sabrina so kindly prepared for us Gabri." Link suggested, placing the basket on a rock next to the one he was sitting on.

"I think you are right. I am getting a bit hungry and tired from all this walking." Gabri said, finding a place to sit off the path. She looked into the basket to see what lunch would be. She found a loaf of bread, ham, cheese, and some fruits. "This looks good."

"Yeah it does" said Link, grabbing a red apple from the basket, he took a bite afterwards and looked around at their peaceful environment. After he swallowed, he sighed and looked at the apple in his hand for a while, "I wonder why Shad and Ryudo were nowhere to be seen when we left." He took another bite, trying to not think about it anymore, when was ready to finish the rest of it, he heard a bird, chirping in the tree behind them. He turned around and saw a small blue bird on the branch, looking back at them both, it chirped and twitched its feathers, Link smiled, it was the baby blue bird, he recognized it from the white spot on its forehead.

He held his hand out toward it, finger straight and the bird flew over, perching on his finger, it remembered him, he tossed the apple core behind him and pet the bird's head. The core was picked up by a wandering raccoon, it scampered away into the bushes, as it did, Link had pulled off a small piece of bread from the loaf and crumbled it up in his palm. It was a lot bigger than Link remembered it, it must be old enough to live on its own, he smiled and laughed a little as the sweet bird ate the bread crumbs in his other hand.

"Oh, Gabri, would you like to feed him too?" Asked Link, he held his hand out toward Gabri with the bird on his finger, it chirped cutely as it looked at Gabri with its dark blue eyes.

Gabri eyed the little bird and shook her head. "No thank you." She took a few grapes from the basket and a piece of bread. She started to eat and thought about what Link had said before the bird. "Why would they be there to see us off? Then again, I think that they would have loved to see you go, just not me." She finished her grapes and started on the bread.

He nodded his head, understanding if she didn't want to feed him, he brought him back and he moved his hand up to his right shoulder, the bird flew up and perched on it, then Link continued to feed it bread crumbs in his left hand. "Exactly love, why wouldn't they come to give me one last hateful remark and say good bye to you? Its actually a bit worrying..." He was a bit shocked, getting so worked up over those two idiots, it was a bit laughable in truth, but, in the pit of his heart, he was still worried about them, despite how much they hated him. Once the bread crumbs were gone, Link took some of the grapes and started to eat some, he offered one to his little bird friend and he started to pick at it, trying to eat it.

It stuck its beak into it and actually sucked out its contents, like a hummingbird, there was only the grape's skin left in Link's palm, he laughed at what his little friend just did. "Should we keep him and name him love?" Link asked her, petting the bird's head and then offering it his last grape, it repeated the same method as before to the sweet fruit.

Gabri Ella became paranoid and started to look around the area, searching for anyone else behind them. "What if they are following us?" She became very cautious about the trees and how well someone could hide behind them.

Trying to clear the thought from her mind, she looked at the little bird and thought it would be a good idea to have a pet of sorts. "We should keep him only if he wishes to stay." she replied but tried to think of names to give him anyway. Her mind came up short, What do you name a bird?

Now that Gabri brought up the fact Shad and Ryudo could be following them, he also grew cautious, looking around them, but when he saw the bird, he relaxed, he didn't want to scare him away. He thought of a name for him, since Gabri couldn't think of one, "How about Cody?" Link asked, the bird chirped happily, Link laughed, "he likes it, don't you Cody?" Link asked him, petting the bird's head, it side stepped across his shoulder and leaned against Link's neck, it chirped again. Link smiled and patted its head, "Cody it is then" he said, he then continued to eat his fill of the lunch Sabrina made them, offering his friend food, but he didn't eat, he must've been full.

After Link was full himself, he grabbed the map the king gave them to check out the forest's paths and exits as he waited for Gabri to finish her lunch. "Hmm... according to the map, if we continue down this path, and then take a right, we'll come upon a lake, once we pass that, we'll have exited the actual forest." He put the map away in his backpack and stood up, brushing off any crumbs from his lunch, "ready love?" He asked Gabri, Cody chirped on Link's shoulder, as if asking the same question in his own way, it made Link smile.

Gabri smiled at Link and, their new friend, Cody. She finished eating and rose herself. There was still some food left in the basket so she picked it up and decided to carry it this time. "I'm ready. Will we make it to another town before nightfall?" she asked, hoping not to have to sleep on the ground.

"Actually, I didn't see a town close by to us at all, but don't worry, I'm sure the king packed us materials to build a tent out of and sleeping bags, that would be a bit strange if he didn't." Link then held Gabri's hand and continued down the barren path with her and Cody, they had soon reached the fork in the path that the map mentioned, so they headed right. After an hour of walking, the trees practically revealed the gorgeous lake to them, it sparkled in the bright sunshine, Link's jaw dropped slightly at its overwhelming beauty, "wow... isn't it amazing?" He asked both Gabri and Cody, Cody chirped a little, as if replying to Link's question.

"I wish we could go swimming right now..." he said anxiously, but, knew they had to keep going, so he walked around the lake with them, staring at it as they went past. Cody flew off Link's shoulder and took a quick drink of the clean lake then flew back, perching on his shoulder once more, he needed to wash those bread crumbs down. They had to jump over the small river that flowed into the lake on their way past, but it was fairly easy, and were soon walking past more trees down a dirt path.

Once they past the trees though, they entered a giant, lush field, surrounded by mountains and more trees that spread for miles around. The field itself was split into four thanks to the dirt paths, leading to different towns many miles away from them, and within the intersection, there was enough room to build a tent. Even though it seemed like just a few hours since they left, the sun was starting to go down, turning the sky a deep orange, "its this late already?" Link asked himself in disbelief, but he sighed, "I guess its time we set up camp and rest till morning."

Link removed his back pack, Cody flew off Link's shoulder and perched upon a rock in the path, watching Link rummage through the pack to find anything to build a tent out of. "I can only find a sleeping bag, love, can you check your pack for tent materials?" Link asked, now holding the giant sleeping bag, it was about 50 percent of his pack space, it looked like it could hold two people.

Gabri stared awe struck at the water of the lake. It was magnificent. "Its beautiful and I wish we could go swimming now too." she said but continued to walk behind Link along the path. When they stopped, she started looking through her pack. "It seems I have the tent materials," she said with a bit of a giggle.

She began to pull the materials out and laid them on the ground for him to see. "So, I guess we are making camp here. Seems like a good spot." Gabri smiled and began to work on setting up the tent.

Link assisted her in building the tent, shoving the wooden polls into the ground and then draping the large blanket over them, once the tent was done, it looked more like a giant tepee, than a typical tent. Link looked back at Cody, still perched on the rock, Link then got an idea and began to go through his pack once more, he found an old raccoon fur hat and ran off into the grass. He picked the grass and placed it into the hat and soon he had a nice nest for Cody, he ran back and held it out for Cody with both hands. Cody chirped happily and climbed in, as he got comfortable Link placed him into the safety of the tent and smiled.

"Its time for bed for us both now love" said Link, giving Gabri a kiss, then a hug and he picked up the sleeping bag, he then walked inside the tent. He unraveled the bag, it WAS big enough for two people, so they had some place to sleep together on the road, he smiled and placed it in the middle of the tepee. He removed his sandals and then climbed into the sleep bag, holding it open for Gabri, the bag had built in pillows, making it incredibly comfortable for them.

Gabri laughed as she watched Link make a nest for Cody. He was soon in the tent and she was right behind him, removing her shoes as she went. She crawled in next to him and laid in her normal position, her head resting on his chest to listen to his heart. "Good night, my love. Have pleasant dreams."

He cuddled with her, giving her a kiss on the top of her head, he smiled and continued gently cuddling with her, "I love you Gabri Ella, sleep well." He looked over at Cody, sleeping peacefully near the tent exit and smiled at him, then he fell asleep himself right after. Before the sun rose into the sky, he forced himself to wake up, he did he best to not yawn or even make a sound to wake up Gabri and Cody. He smiled and slid right out of the sleeping bag, after putting on his shoes he tip-toed outside, knowing they wouldn't wake up, however, Cody heard Link walk past, and he woke up. He climbed out of his nest and flew after Link, quickly finding him and landing on his shoulder.

He shouted in surprise, but calmed down when it was just Cody, Cody chirped, as if asking what Link was doing, "I'm trying to make an early breakfast for all of us Cody, and I wanted it to be a surprise." Cody chirped, he seemed to be asking if he could help, Link smiled and pet his head, "you can help if you like buddy, I'll catch some fish and you can go find some fruits. Come back to the lake if you find any, I'll go get some" Cody chirped in confirmation and flew off in search of fruits, Link continued on to the lake.

When the lake was in sight, he got a running start and jumped in, holding his breath, he swam around in search of fish, they were still asleep, making it incredibly easy for Link's fast reflexes to catch two big fish. He climbed back out, carrying the two fish, he snapped a strong twig from a tree and grabbed a vine from it, tying the two fish's tail fins to the stick for easier carrying. Cody had soon came back, chirping happily, it seems like he found some fruit, so Link followed after him, when Cody stopped flying and rested on a tree branch, they had reached their goal.

There were some apple trees around them, along with raspberry bushes, "good work Cody, this'll be great!" Said Link, shoving the stick into the ground to keep the fish up. After finding some of the ripest fruit, he picked a few large leaves from a tree and made a sort of carrying case out of them, he placed enough fruit in it and then tied the knot, picking it up. He retrieved the fish and headed back to camp, Cody sat on Link's shoulder on the way, once they reached camp Link began finding material for a fire. About five minutes later, with help from Cody, there was a roaring fire a few feet from the tent.

Link started to prepare the fish, once they were all clean, he stuck them onto some branches and used some more branches to support them over the fire. As they cooked, Link warmed up by the fire, to dry himself off from the lake, Cody flew back into the tent to get as much sleep he could before morning, which was fast approaching. When the sun rose up, the fish were now perfectly cooked, so he removed them from the fire quickly to not burn them, "oh Gabri!" He shouted to wake her and Cody up, "its breakfast time!" He started to get the food ready for proper eating.

Taking some plates and utensils from both their packs, he had all of the food ready, so he waited for Gabri to join him, since Cody was now wide awake and by his leaf with raspberries on it.

Gabri moved a little when Link left her but didn't actually wake up. She soon heard Link call her. Her eyes opening, she rose from the sleeping bag and rubbed her eyes. She looked to her side and remembered that Link wasn't there. She could smell the fish.

She crawled out of the sleeping bag and slipped her feet into her shoes. Walking out, Gabri saw the spread. "Good morning love. It looks yummy." she said, sitting down before a plate. "Are you going to be alright today? You woke up rather early."

"Of course love, I'm wide awake and full of energy!" He said cheerfully, taking a bite of the delicious fish on his plate. Cody was pulling off individual segments from the raspberries, eating them one by one, it was a cute display and it made Link smile. As they ate breakfast, Link heard a hawk's screech in the sky, a shadow flew over Cody, it made him chirp, he was frightened and he flew onto Link's lap. Link pet Cody's head to calm him down, "don't worry Cody, I'll never let you get eaten" Link grabbed what was left on his leaf and held it for Cody to eat. He continued eating, happy and relaxed now that Link would protect him, the hawk screeched once more and flew away to find another meal.

Once Cody was full, he flew up and perched on Link's shoulder again, Link then continued eating the rest of his breakfast. He ate the last bite of his fish after finishing off his fruit and then grabbed the map from his pack, he looked for the quickest path to a town. "The map says there is a large traders town called Medina about 10 miles east from here... looks like we got some walking to do" said Link, laughing weakly. He threw the leftovers from his breakfast into the fire and placed his plate back into his pack, he then began to take down the tent and he placed the materials into his pack as well.

Once all of the camp was cleaned up, Link kicked dirt onto the fire to put it out, needing to throw some onto the flame, but it was soon gone. He put back on his back pack and carried the raccoon fur hat, still full of grass, for Cody to nest in on the way to Medina, Cody flew into the nest and got comfortable. "Are you ready, love?" Link asked Gabri, ready to head east.

Gabri enjoyed the fruits and soon finished off the fish. She smiled at Link and rose from the ground. "Here you are, love," she said, handing him her plant as she walked to where the tent had been. She picked up the sleeping bag and folded it into her pack. "Alright, I'm ready." She walked over to Link and smiled at him.

He smiled back, giving her a kiss, then he put the plate inside her backpack, he held onto Cody's nest and started to head east with Gabri by his side. After exiting the trees, they came upon an empty field, mountains placed sparsely out in the distance, dirt paths separated the long, thick grass around them. They continued to head east and after an hour of walking, there was a fork in the road, an east and a south path, someone was coming up the south path. It was a large cart, driven by two horses, a bearded man with a large straw hat, a white shirt and blue suspenders was guiding them along, he stopped on the path when he noticed Link and Gabri.

"Where you two headed?" Asked the man, he looked to be a farmer, he was chewing on a stalk of wheat. "Uhh, hello sir, we were on our way to Medina" said Link. "I was on my way there as well, got some animals to sell back here" he said, pointing behind him, Link never noticed the large wagon being pulled along, full of pigs, until that moment. "If you climb up here I'll help take y'all there" he offered, moving the stalk of wheat across his mouth back and forth a little, "really? Oh, thank you sir, we do have a long way to travel."

Link climbed up into the cart, plenty of room for all of them, he placed Cody's nest on his lap and waited for Gabri to climb in.

Gabri Ella was ever so happy that there was another way to travel rather than walking. "Thank you, sir," she said as she climbed into the cart next to Link. She took his hand, she was a little nervous because she never really trusted people she didn't know.

Link rubbed Gabri's hand with his other hand, holding it gently, "relax love, soon we'll be in Medina and even closer to our destination." Link tried to reassure her, the farmer snapped his horse's reigns and they started to gallop down the east road toward Medina. It would still take awhile, but the horses were moving faster than they were earlier, Link took this time to look around at their environment, for an empty field, surrounded by mountains and some trees, it was breathtaking. Pretty soon they passed the wild grasses and entered the part of the field full of hundreds upon thousands of flowers, it made Link smile at all of the different colors, quickly passing by them like a blur.

Cody enjoyed it as well, in fact, he liked it so much that he flew off into the flower field, "Cody, wait!" Link shouted, he was panicking for nothing, since Cody came back with a beak full of lovely daisies. He sat in his nest and handed Link the flowers, Cody looked at Gabri for a little bit, than back at Link, he chirped. Link nodded his head and gave the flowers to Gabri, he patted Cody on the head gently and gave Gabri a kiss on the cheek. "Isn't Cody sweet, love?" Link asked Gabri, smiling sweetly at her.

"Aww...Thank you Cody," Gabri said, taking the flowers with one hand and putting her hand out, finger pointed out to take Cody on. Once the little bird bounced onto her finger, she brought the blue bird to her cheek and nuzzled him. Then she kissed him gently on the head. "It was sweet..." the red head said, relaxing a bit. She lowered Cody to his nest and watched him jump in.

Cody chirped happily, glad that Gabri loved the flowers, he got comfortable in his nest again and took a nap, he'd wake up when they got there. The farmer was pretty silent the whole way, it felt awkward actually, Link braced himself for any words from him, but, nothing but silence. After about an hour or so, a large town made of stone was slowly appearing ahead of them, Link squinted his eyes to look ahead, he smiled, Medina was right before them. Twenty minutes later they were near the entrance of the town, "heres where y'all get off now" said the farmer, at last, Link let his guard down so when the silence was broken, he jumped a little.

"Oh, yes! Thank you for the help sir, we truly appreciate it" once Gabri got off, he climbed off as well, holding Cody's nest in his hands. "Y'all be careful now, ya hear?" He snapped the horse's reigns and he rode off into town to sell his livestock, "thanks again!" Link said once more, he looked at Gabri and smiled, "we got here quicker than I thought, lets check this place out." He walked into the active trader's town, holding Gabri's hand along the way with his spare one and carrying Cody by his opposite side.

Gabri Ella smiled over at Link just as the man came to a halt and spoke. His voice startled her but she refused to jump. "Thank you, sir," she said softly and climbed from the cart.

Gabri walked with Link into the activity. She watched him as he carried Cody and the nest. She had an idea for a gift to get them but would have to look at some of the shops to find it. "Can we look into some shops, love?"
