Two Soldiers live within a mighty kingdom, the kingdom is called Labrynna, and its in the middle of a war with the opposing kingdom called Holodrum. Its been three years and the end of the war is nowhere in sight, over those three years, the soldiers become the strongest knights in the whole army and stay within the castle to protect its king. They also developed a relationship within that time, even though they truly don't know one another, but they look out for each other, defending the kingdom and everyone's lives.

Link from Hyrule, a kingdom half-way across the earth from Labrynna, has lost his memory, all he knows is how to fight and his own name. He can't remember that he was an amazing and brave hero in his life or the fact he had friends back in Hyrule, which he left behind soon after losing his memory. Now he lives in Labrynna, defending innocent lives like he used to when he knew who he was, but a day comes when he has dreams of his past and it frightens him so much that he can't sleep.

It keeps happening until he can't take it any longer and he wishes to discover the cause of his dreams, he desires to remember his past yet doesn't even know it. He leaves Labrynna, even though the war is not over, his love tries to stop him, but its no use, so she decides to go with him. Labrynna loses two of its best knights in the middle of the war, but the only thing on Link's mind is trying to find out about his past, and the safety of his one true love.

Family - He has no family, his parents died when he was just a baby and anyone who had treated him like family is long forgotten due to his memory loss.
Occupation - His job is to save those in danger and smite any evil or threat to the innocent public. If only he could remember how well he did this job.
Weapon - He carries a thin yet sharp and strong sword with him, it can cut through anything and never have a dull edge, thanks to an excellent blacksmith.

Shad:
A soldier in Labrynna's army, he is in love with Gabri Ella, but since shes in love with Link instead, he hates Link with a passion. He likes to cause Link trouble, but he never wants to do anything bad to Gabri. He has a smug, overconfident attitude and considers himself better than most people, he became friends with Ryudo since he hates Link too.

Ryudo:
He is Gabri Ella's long lost brother, he lived in Holodrum and became a soldier in their army, he heard about Gabri in Labrynna one day, so he did everything he could to see her. He almost killed the king in Labrynna, he was sent into the dungeons, sentenced to death, after finding out he was actually Gabri's brother, he was set free and joined Labrynna's army. He doesn't trust Link, at all, and ended up hating him since he feels his sister's life is threatened by him. He became friends with Shad since he wants to ruin Link's life as well.

The Kingdom of Labrynna has had a few days of peace from the constant attacks from the west by the Holodrum army. But Link has never lost his concentration or focus ever since they stopped attacking, he stays within the highest tower in the castle that faces the west, always on look-out. The Black Tower that was once in the current spot of the kingdom was destroyed and taken down many years ago, it was replaced with a giant stone castle and all of the main bridges lead to the castle for quicker travel for soldiers. He spent so much time within the tower that they put a bed in for him and practically made it his new room, which he gladly showed, as he does sleep there during the night.

Link was staring out the window of his tower, viewing the landscape and enjoying the bright sunlight and clear skies, which seems to fade away when Holodrum's army enters their land. He sighed impatiently and had an angry look on his face, "I know you're planning something..." he said to himself as he stuck his arm out the window, his finger pointing at Holodrum. A baby blue bird flying by decided to perch and rest on his finger, so his anger faded and he slowly pulled his arm back in and gently pet its head, he chuckled lightly and heard chirping come from the window.

It was two other adult blue birds, possibly the baby's parents, so he stuck his arm out the window again, finger straight, and the baby flew away and off with its parents. His fingers spread out as it flew and he slowly pulled his arm back toward him, he sighed, "if only our lives were as carefree as theirs..." he said, sitting down in a chair near his bed to rest. He took a moment to think during his break, "I wonder if Gabri Ella knows I'm up here..." he said out loud. He had his hand under his chin, his fingers against his cheek, he rested one leg over the other as he sat and he moved his dangling foot up and down, making his armor squeak quietly.

She had been watching the Holodrum army all day, always keeping an eye on them when not checking on her family. Gabri Ella decided it was time to hand the job off to the next watcher and seek out Link. Slipping into the shadows, she whispered into the night, "I trust you to watch them well," knowing that the next watcher was there.

Gabri Ella went back to the camp to inquire about Link and discovered that he had been staying in the highest tower of the castle. I wonder if he might be hunger... she thought to herself. She started to make a small package of food enough for two, closed it up, and headed towards the castle.

She followed the hallways to the tower stairs and began to climb. Reaching the door, she knocked gently and waiting for an answer.

He had accidentally fallen asleep in the chair, snoring loudly, he must've been more exhausted than he thought. When Gabri knocked on the door though, he woke up slowly, he stretched his arms out and stood up, "I bet thats her now..." he said, rubbing one of his eyes as he walked to the door. He opened up the large door, it squeaked a little due to the old door hinges, he covered his mouth as he yawned and smiled sweetly at Gabri in the doorway. "Hello Gabri Ella, please, come in" he said, offering her a seat inside at the table, as he noticed she had some food for them both. "How are you today?" He asked her as she sat down, he pushed her chair in for her then walked over and sat in his own near her.

Always the gentleman. Gabri started to remove the food she had packed, bread, cheese, and some meat, laying it out on the table. "I'm doing well. Just released from watch and I was thinking about you," she said, smiling up at him. She took a piece of the bread and broke it into pieces, eating a few before asking, "How are you? Hiding yourself up here."

He smiled, knowing she was alright, but frowned when she asked how he was, he sighed, "I'm not sure how I am today love... theres this thought in the back of my mind about our future, I feel like... we may end up leaving Labrynna soon." He decided to get creative with his food, he cut off two big slices of bread, placed some meat on one slice, then some cheese, and put the other piece of bread on top. He cut it in half and gave one half to Gabri, while he took a big bite of his own half, his face lit up, "yum!" He said after he swallowed, "try it Gabri, its delicious!" He said before taking another bite.

He turned his head to the window as he ate, still worried about the upcoming army, but he decided to let his guard down and stop stressing so much. He wanted to enjoy a nice meal with Gabri Ella, and thats exactly what he would get.

Gabri looked down at the creation Link had just handed her. "What do you mean 'leave'? We have to fight, to protect our home," she said not looking up at him.

She brought her half to her mouth, worry etched on her face, and took a bite. It tasted good but she still wondered where his mind was and what had happened to him while he was up here.

He scratched the side of his head, upset that he brought up such a subject, "lets not worry about it until the war is over Gabri Ella, sorry for bringing it up." He ate the rest of his creation and started to think of what they could do while they're on their break, "would you like to join me for some swimming in the river by Lynna City? We haven't spent much time together since I just stay in here all day until we need to fight." He felt they would be taking a risk leaving the castle, but he wanted to spend more time with Gabri since he hardly does at all anymore. "I'm sick of being a worrywart right now and I think some swimming would do us both some good, what do you say?" He waited for a response as he started to make another sandwich.

"If the war ever ends..." Gabri said to herself. She took another bite and smiled up at Link. "Swimming sounds like fun." She continued to eat and finished off her half of the sandwich before saying, "Have you been up here thinking the whole time?"

"Mostly I was on look-out duty and only started to think until my break" he didn't want to tell her about his dreams, which kept him awake and exhausted since they scared him so much. After they both were full, he got up and pulled out Gabri's chair, he held her hand as they left his room and started to head down to Earth from the tall tower. They walked off the castle grounds, passing through all of the hustle and bustle going on in the grounds, soldiers were practice fighting and training, to not get rusty since Holodrum hasn't attacked for a while. Before they could leave, a few soldiers stepped in front of the exit, one Link recognized right off the bat, which made his blood boil.

"Hello, Shad" he said with disgust, a soldier with the same outfit as Link was standing before them both, he had black, short hair and some hung down over his left eye, his eyes were blue and he had a smug, overconfident attitude. Shad was in love with Gabri until Link came on the scene and Gabri ended up falling in love with him, from that point on Shad made Link his mortal enemy, even though they're on the same team. "Link, where do you think you're going?" Shad asked him, sounding angry, Link pulled Gabri close to him, his arm over her shoulders.

"For your information, we were going to enjoy some swimming by Lynna City, now if you don't mind, could you move out of the way?" Shad growled quietly at Link, but his face returned to a calm smile and he laughed, "well too bad Link, the king is making us all stay here since Holodrum's army could perform a sneak attack at any time. You two ARE the best knights and it would be a shame to leave the king with inferior defense, wouldn't it?" Link's anger and hate for Shad faded for a second, he took a moment to think, "yes, you're right Shad, I guess we'll stay here then Gabri Ella."

He felt so disappointed, his whole day with Gabri, ruined, all because they can't leave the castle, he started to head back inside the castle with her, until Shad stepped before them again. "Don't keep yourselves all cooped up in the castle, its not going to improve your already amazing fighting skills, how about a little sparring match, Link?" He handed him a wooden sword, it was what all the soldiers used for practice, so they don't hurt their opponents. "Of course, if you don't want to practice and just want to stay in the tower, ALL DAY, then perhaps Gabri Ella would like to stay for some practice" he held her hand and smiled a cool smile.

Link didn't like that very much, so he swung the sword and smacked Shad's hand, he let out a painful sounding yelp and rubbed his hand to stop the pain. This made him angry, so he grabbed his wooden sword and braced for a fight, "clear the fighting arena, we have two new opponents!!" Yelled one of the soldiers, everyone cleared the way, then Link and Shad entered the arena, standing at opposite sides. They had an angry stare down before they ran at each other, their "practice" fighting then ensued and their fellow soldiers cheered for Link or Shad.

Gabri Ella could feel the heat between the two men, once that will always be in love with her and the other she will always be in love with. She attempted to smile politely to Shad when he said something about practicing against her. She knew she could take him but really only wanted to spend time with Link.

Walking to the side lines to watch the fight, she could see the anger between Link and Shad. Both hating each other and getting the chance to take it out. It was good therapy. At times, she wished they didn't argue every time they came together. "Men..." Gabri said softly to no one, shaking her head.

She stood there watching for a few minutes, then grew tired and walked away to find something productive to do. Gabri walked past some people working and decided she just wanted to rest. Finding a tree, she went and sat under the shade of its branches. She was still insight of the fighting arena and hoped that Link would see her as she closed her eyes and relaxed.

Link and Shad's fight continued on, you could hear the wooden swords strike each other from a mile away, but it was slightly muffled from the loud cheering of their fellow soldiers. In the middle of their fighting though, Link began to feel a slight pain in his head, he held his forehead and started to sweat from the pain. He was having visions of his past fly through his mind again, within that time, he dropped his sword, so Shad thought he was giving up, he prepared the final strike, but a soldier ran up and stopped him. "Shad, knock it off, the fight is over!" He and a few others from the crowd had ran to Link's side, worried what was happing to him, "Link, are you alright? Whats wrong?"

Link groaned in pain, he saw a vision of a little boy, he was shy and said, "someday, I want to be just like you, Link..." it faded away afterwards, "Colin..." He uttered, he was doubled over in pain, everyone was curious at what he said, but they worried about him for now, "come on, lets get him to his room!" One soldier said, Link had another vision, a young girl standing by a horse, she turned around and began to speak with a worried look upon her face. "Link... can you at least promise me... that you'll come home safely?" She said, a sweet smile appeared on her face and that vision faded right after.

It was too much for Link's consciousness to bare, so he fell to his knees, his face in a trance-like state, then he fell down, unconscious. "Link?!" Yelled one soldier, "hurry! Lets help him up!" Shouted another, two soldiers picked him up under his armpits, while another held up his legs and they ran off toward the castle, Link's cape dragged across the ground. Shad looked around and tried to absorb what just happened, he grew frustrated and threw his sword to the ground, it bounced and landed out in the crowd somewhere. All of the soldiers grew angry and glared at Shad, Shad's anger faded and he calmed down, a bit nervous from everyone staring.

A thought then entered his mind, Gabri was alone at last, so he ran from the arena, pushing his way through the crowd to find Gabri.

Gabri heard the commotion of people shouting Link's name, she thought it was encouragement until she noticed the tone change to panic and worry. Her eyes shot open and she saw that the fight had ended but she didn't know where Link was. She didn't see him anywhere.

Getting up quickly from under the tree, she began to walk fast towards the walking arena. She saw Shad coming towards her. "Where is Link?" Gabri Ella said stopping just in front of Shad.

Shad had a slightly evil smile on his face, this was his chance to sabotage Gabri's interest in Link, "oh, I defeated him in battle, but I must've fought him too hard as hes off to his room to recover." He folded his arms and stood before Gabri, looking triumphant with a satisfied smile on his face.

Gabri wasn't impressed with Shad's over satisfied look. "Is he alright?" she said with a worried look her head looking towards the castle. She started to walk in the direction of the castle, all she could think of was Link and if he was alright.

He grew angry, unsatisfied that she still cares about Link, he growled, "who knows but more importantly, who cares?" He said, shrugging his shoulders as he turned around to watch her go. "Gabri Ella?" He said, no response, "Gabri Ella?!" Still no response, he practically shouted in frustration and kicked the rocks at his feet across the ground. He grumbled and started to head into the castle as well, to catch up to Gabri at least.

By that time the soldiers who carried Link in had climbed to the top of the look-out tower and placed him in his bed, keeping an eye on him as he laid there, unconscious. "Gabri Ella and Shad are here!" Said a guard outside Link's doorway, they were let inside soon after, Shad stayed by the door though, he was only there for Gabri.

Gabri walked through the door and saw Link laying unconscious on the bed. She rushed over and knelt beside the bed, the soft cloth of her pants brushing gently against the floor. Looking up at one of the guards, she asked, "Is he alright? Do you know what happened?"

"We don't know, Link seemed like he was having the worst headache of his life, and then he passed out, its so strange, but he said 'Colin' just before he lost consciousness." One soldier explained, "whats a Colin?" Asked another, "I don't know, but I'm sure its a person, not an object..." said the first soldier. "Colin... is a boy..." Link finally spoke up as he slowly sat up in his bed, it made most everyone gasp, but they were glad he was alright and awake again. "Where... is Shad?" He sounded very weak as he spoke, almost like he was sick, the soldiers turned around to face Shad by the door.

Shad rolled his eyes and walked over to Link's opposite bedside, "what is it, Link?" He asked, not sounding very worried or excited for him. Link quickly reached his arm out and grabbed Shad by his shirt, he was a bit shocked as Link pulled him down to his level, Link looked him straight in the eye with his head straight forward. "Don't lie about me to Gabri Ella again" he let him go, pushing him slightly back, just enough for him to stumble a little, Shad was wide-eyed and even more shocked. He was confused, how did Link know about his lie? But he stopped thinking about that and grew frustrated because Link outsmarted him again.

He stomped out of the room and headed down the tower, growling quietly to himself, Link fell backwards, his head hitting his pillow and he sighed weakly. "If you don't mind, I'd like to be left alone with Gabri Ella for now, I need to talk to her..." the soldiers gave him a short bow and left soon after, they knew he was in good hands with Gabri around.

She watched the soldiers walk out of the room. Gabri looked back at Link, now laying back on the bed, and hugged him, resting her head on his chest. She could hear his hear beating and it comforted her. "I knew that he didn't beat you, love. He would never be able to defeat you." she said with a small smile.

Sitting straight again, Gabri Ella gave him a serious look. "Now, tell me what happened."

He hugged her as well, its been a long time since he had given her a hug, so he really enjoyed it this time around. "I know love, its just fun to mess around with Shad's mind" he smiled as she sat up, but his expression turned serious as she asked him what happened. "I've been having dreams, you could call them nightmares, its been plaguing me so long that I can hardly sleep, I didn't want to tell you and make you worry, but now I just did. Its a reoccurring dream about a little boy who says he wanted to be like me when he grew up, and a young girl asking me to come home safely. I don't know who they are, but at the same time I do, since I know their names.

The boy's name is Colin... and the girl's name is Ilia, I can't remember anything about them but the way they look and their names. Its scaring me and I thought I wasn't afraid of anything, since I didn't know fear, so many questions enter my mind when I think of them, but none can be answered. Perhaps these people used to know me, they knew a totally different Link, and I'm not him any longer. I feel like I lost something, an important part of me, and I want to know what it is, but how can I?" A tear fell down his face, which he didn't bother to wipe away, he sniffled a little bit.

He felt a sensation in his left hand, which he lifted up and looked at curiously, he removed his armguards and glove to look at it. The Triforce mark was imprinted on his hand, almost like a birthmark, three perfect triangles on the back of his hand. They began to glow with a bright yellow light, but it quickly faded away a few seconds away, this must be an answer to his questions, so he quickly sat up and started to get out of bed. He put back on his glove and armguards, "Gabri, can you come with me to the castle's library?" He asked of her before he'd leave.

Gabri Ella rose from the floor and looked down at him. "I don't think you should leave the bed. You need rest," she replied to him, a stern tone to her voice.

She at next to him and took his hand. "I'm worried about you. I don't like that you have been keeping this from me. I'll let it go since we don't get much time alone these days."

Gabri looked into his eyes and looked down. "If you must go down there, I will go with you. I have missed spending time with you."

He frowned and his head began to sag, he looked at the floor, "I'm sorry Gabri, I promise I won't hide anything from you again and I'll spend more time with you from now on." He gave her a hug and smiled, then he kissed her for a while and after he stopped he held her hand on the way down the tower steps. Down one of the hallways passed the king's throne room there was a big, wooden door, which he quickly opened, revealing the castle's library. Some of the king's scholars were inside, reading and browsing for a book to read, he ran over to a stone bookshelf that held many thick and giant books, he quickly browsed for one.

He found the one he was looking for, it held history of many different gods/goddesses that people believed in all the way to Egyptian times. He grabbed it from the shelf, its immense size and weight making it a bit heavy to carry, he gently placed it on a free table and opened it up. He quickly looked through it, page by page, until he found a picture that resembled the Triforce, "Gabri, come here, I think I found what I was looking for" he edged her over to his table.

After she ran over, he pointed out some things, "this book tells us about the mark on my hand, and the ones who created it, three golden goddesses named Din, Nayru and Farore." He read the book with her, when he read the words 'Hyrule' and 'Triforce' he had his visions come back, but it wasn't as violent like at the arena.

A mighty kingdom appeared before him, so many places, so much beauty and peace, but it faded away as it reached a castle, much like the one in Labrynna. The Triforce appeared before him, twirling up in the sky, covered in a bright light and clouds, but that faded away as well and he returned to reality. He held his head, he had a headache now.

Gabri looked down at the book, skimming through the pages. Still looking at the book, she said, "What do you think it means? That you are from this place...this Hyrule?" she finished and looked up at him. Worry came across her face as she watched him hold his head. "Are you alright, love?" she asked him. "Maybe you should sit down..."

He smiled, "yeah, I'm alright love, just had another vision and it made me feel sick" he took up the offer to sit down, he grabbed a chair from the table and sat in it next to her. He tried to shake off his sickness and focus on answering Gabri's questions, "well, if I once possessed the Triforce like it says in the book, then I must be from Hyrule, why else would I have it?" Sadly, after they past all of the pages about the goddesses, nothing else about Hyrule or anything like such was mentioned, he hit his fist against the table and growled. "Damn it, we're left in the dark!" He yelled.

The scholars shushed him simultaneously and went back to reading, he calmed down then and closed the book, he sighed sadly. He lifted up the book and put it back on its shelf, he turned and walked back to Gabri, "come on, lets go get something to eat, its getting pretty close to dinnertime. We'll try and find more info on Hyrule later, alright?" He gave her a kiss and held her hand as they both left the library and headed downstairs to the kitchen for the castle's chef to prepare them and their fellow soldiers some dinner.
