Shit! Luis thought, hearing the gun shot. He kicked the door in, his gun drawn.

He ran in and saw a woman still holding the gun out. His eyes followed the direction it was aimed and saw the man laying on the ground. It looked like the bullet went into his abdomen. Luis heard the man crying out, quietly in pain. "Ma'am, please lower the gun while I approach him." he said the the woman in a soft voice. He pointed to Patience and them pointed to the woman, indicated for her to talk to the woman about what happened.

Luis went to the man, putting his gun away. He knelt down beside the man and checked his wound. "You're going to be alright, sir. Just stay calm." He turned his head to his right shoulder, pressing the button with his right hand, he spoke into the radio. "We need an ambulance to the location of the domestic disturbance, immediately."

"Honey... Hey... Look at me."

The woman spoke in French.

Patience smiled and started speaking in French back to the woman. "Mon nom est la Patience. Mettre le fusil... Nous permettre de parler bien?" (My name is Patience. Put the gun down... Let's talk ok?)

The woman shook her head and pointed the gun at her own head. And in English she spoked. "This all started because of him."

"Honey... It's ok now... Come on.." Patience was in front of the woman and took the gun from her.

The woman collapsed against Patience's chest crying.

Luis heard the sirens coming down the road. He looked over to Patience, "Is she going to be alright? Does she have any injuries?" he asked, applying pressure to the man's wound.

The EMTs came in with their bags and check the shot man. "Is he going to be alright? We are going to have to talk to him about what happened here." Luis asked the EMT, who nodded his head.

Patience nodded. "She's fine." She left the house with the woman in tow and put her in the car.

She shut the door and leaned against the car looking at Luis. "That could have been bad." She said crossing her arms over her chest.

Patience nudged her head to the woman in the car. "I think we should take her back... See what the other ones can get out of her." She sighed and looked up at him before getting in the car.

He followed the stretcher out and went to the car, as Patience was putting the woman into the backseat. "Alright, let's take her back." he said to her and opened his door.

"He is going to be alright and we will send someone to the hospital to question him." Luis climbed into the car and buckled his seat belt. He started the car and waited for Patience to get in.

Patience got in the car and looked at him. "Well... Look at it this way... We got there just before anything to horrible happened." She shrugged. "I could have been worse."

She looked at him and smiled. "We need to get you cleaned up once we get back though... Got a little bit of blood on the uniform..." Patience smiled and took a sip of her cappuccino to finish it. "And just think shift just started."

Sun was setting when they got back to the station. "Do you want me to handle her? Or do you think you can get her?" She got out of the car and looked at him once they got back.

"And I think I'm gonna have someone else question her... I don't think I could handle this one." She sighed and stretched a bit with a yawn standing outside the station still near the car.

"So you think you can take her in or do you want me to do it?"

Luis looked down at his shirt and then up at Patience. "I think you should take her in and pass her off, while I go change my shirt." he said, then noticed her yawn. "Are you tired, doll?"

"Yea a little bit... I haven't been getting much sleep lately." She shrugged and nodded then. "Alright. I'll take her to Yvette... She's the only one other than me that can speak French. You go get cleaned up officer." She teased the last part.

Patience went to the back door of the car and pulled the woman out of it. Taking her inside she passed her to Yvette. She headed back to one of the backrooms where they had punching bags and a few other things.

She got into her sports bra, sweat pants, and her running shoes before heading over to one of the punching bags. 'This is nuts...' she thought to herself as she punched the bag and kicked it. 'I think I need a new job...' She sighed and closed her eyes as she punched and kicked at it still.

'I'm an angel... I was sent here to protect people...Save people... But... Couldn't I have been given a different assignment other than a police officer?'

Luis laughed as he went into the station. He walked back to the locker room while Patience took the woman away.

After changing, he went to find Patience. He discovered her in the gym beating up the punching bag. Luis walked behind the bag and held it for her. "Are you alright, doll?" he asked her, a little worry seeping out of his voice.

"Just peachy." She put her hands on her hips and looked at him. "I'm... fine... really." Patience said panting. "Thanks for the concern Luis." She looked up at him. "I think I should find another job... I don't even know if I can handle this...." She shrugged. "Not that your a bad partner... You're not... I just know what my mind is saying half the time I go into those situations."

She shrugged again and looked up at him. "I do thank you for the concern though." Patience smiled at him. "But... I think I'll last awhile longer.... Just so I can keep you in check." She teased and went to change back into her uniform.

The sadness could be seen on his face when she said that she was thinking of looking for another job. "Dang...scared you off already." Luis said, trying to tease. He watched her walk away and said, to her back, "I'll wait for you in the front."

Patience came back up in full uniform. Sighing to herself she walked over to her partner. "Alright... And... No... You're not scaring me off... I like your company." She teased and headed out the door to the car and leaned against it smoking a cigarette.

'I know I'm not suppose to do this but I need one... BAD!' she told herself. Patience looked up at the doors to the station wondering if Luis would come out so they could talk for a bit before heading out again.

Luis followed behind her and stood at the station stairs, while she lit a cigarette. He frowned at her and shook his head. Walking towards her, he spoke, "You know doll, smoking is bad for you." Then he added, jokingly, "Just like me." She had no idea just how true that statement was.

"Only smoke when I'm stressed out." She looked up at him. "And you never know... I might be the one that's bad for you." She grinned and shook her head.

Something is strange about this man she works with. Her thoughts going to how strange though. Sighing she put her cigarette out once it was done. "Sorry... I don't smoke all that often... Just once in awhile." she shrugged again. "But meh... I don't know."

"I won't hold smoking against you." Luis laughed and stood next to her. "So, how long have you been an officer of the law, doll?" he asked, beginning to get curious about his new partner.

"A few years." She looked at him and smiled. "What about you?" Patience leaned against the car. "So... We heading out to go intimidate people?" She laughed a bit.

"Or are we going to have a doughnut or two?" With that she laughed a bit again. "So... Let's go Luis." Patience looked up at him. "Oh... Actually..." She smiled. "About the movie date... What if we went clubbing instead?" Her eyes watched him then waiting for an answer.

"I've been on the force for seven years." Luis answered and thought about her other question. "Intimidating sounds fun but I'm hankering for a doughnut." he said laughing.

Climbing into the car, he thought about a club instead. Seeing her dancing would be very enjoyable. "We could go to dinner and then to the club. Does that sound good, doll? And who called it a date. It could just be two officers having a night out." Luis said and then, as an afterthought, said, "Unless you want it to be a date?"

She blushed a deep scarlet red. "Sorry... I assume things sometimes." Patience looked up at him then and got in the car. "So.. I'll get to dance with the famous Luis Samson?" She grinned.

"Is that going to be intimidating to dance with Patience McGee?" She teased and shook her head. "Sorry... I talk to much." Patience bit her lip out of habit putting her seatbelt on.

"Doughnuts do sound good.." She laughed slightly.

Luis laughed, "I don't know about famous, doll. But there shall be dancing and it will be with me." Luis smiled as she bit her lip and buckled up. She was so adorable biting her lip.

"You don't talk too much, doll." he said, brushing his hand on her cheek lightly. "Doughnuts it is." he laughed and pulled out of the parking place.

She smiled with a slight blush at his touch. "I'll have to find something worthy of wearing around you." She looked at him. Her cheeks still pink.

Patience tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. "But I say doughnuts for a job well done for earlier." She laughed a bit. "So... When shall we go out... This weekend?" Her eyes looked up at her partner.

Luis took his time finding a doughnut shop. "Well, since tomorrow is Friday, how about tomorrow night?" he smiled over at her, then pulled up in a doughnut shop parking lot.

"So, your going to wear something nice for me?" Luis said after he parked the car. He opened the door and climbed out. Luis waited for Patience at the front of the car.

Patience looked at him. "Yes... I am... and that sounds good." She grinned and went into the doughnut shop.

The people in there knew her well.

"Patience... How are you?"

"I'm just fine."

"You want the usual?"

"Oh no... I've had my fill of cappuccinos today." She smiled sweetly. "Just a powdered doughnut and a soda is fine with me."

"Alright." The man behind the counter nodded. "How's the force treating you?"

"Pretty good actually... I got a hot enough partner to keep me on my toes.." She joked a bit.

The man behind the counter laughed a bit then. "Well... You deserve a nice guy."

"Roaul!" Patience blushed a deep red.

"What?!"

Luis followed her in and was surprised to see how Patience was welcomed into the shop. He smiled coolly when she commented on how 'hot' he was. He laughed at Raoul and said, "I'm not always nice. The beautiful lady next to me just brings it out of me." Luis smiled at her and then at Raoul.

"Can I get a creme filled doughnut with chocolate icing?" he said, taking his wallet out to pay for both their doughnuts.

Patience laughed and smacked his hand. "I'll get it." She grinned. "You paid earlier." She smiled. "Go sit." Patience grinned.

Raoul shook his head and laughed a bit. "Patience you have a good guy there... Don't screw it up..."

"RAOUL!" Patience face palmed then. "You are a dirty old man." She teased.

Raoul shook his head. "I'm not old... I'm seasoned." He said and gave her the doughnuts.

Patience rolled her eyes and went to sit with Luis then. "I always get hit on when I come here...It sucks."

"Yes ma'am," Luis said and walked off to a table.

He laughed when she came to the table and said something about getting hit on. "A beautiful gal like you should be used to it." he said, taking his doughnut from her and took a bite. The creme was about to drip so he used his tongue to lick at it.
