Luis Samson had been on the force for seven years, going through one partner after another. No one had been able to put up with him for more than a few months. Once he met Patience, everything changed. She was his equal.

Background: Well mannered unless you make her mad but otherwise all around good girl. She puts everyone else's needs before her own. She is a guardian angel and has a long way to go before she can be considered archangel. She is quiet but has her moments when she needs to to be cocky.

Patience stood. Her gun on her hip. Sighing she drank a cappuccino. Her hair pulled back out of her face. She sat at her desk wanting to cry. Work was getting worse right now. Homicides, Suicides, murders, etc. She just got back from a suicide.

"This is nuts." She sighed to herself. Her partner was the only one to keep her sane lately.

She wipped her eyes a bit to stop them from watering and gain her composure back.

Luis approached Patience's desk, cup of old coffee in his hands. Seven years of the force and the coffee never got better. "You going to be alright there, doll?" he asked her quietly, so not to draw attention to her.

She was still new to him but he knew that things like this bothered her. She was a woman after all.

Patience wiped her eyes again. "Yea.... I just can't believe crime rate has gone up as much as it has lately." She got up and looked at him. "And my shift just started." She sighed and shook head.

She got up. "Well... Let's go and patrol like we should be doing." She smiled gently then. "It might help me anyway." she shrugged.

"Alright, let's get a move on," Luis smiled at Patience. She was a rather pretty woman. In fact, she was his loveliest partner. He did a little bow and gestured with his free arm. "Ladies first..."

Patience smiled and went through the door. "Thanks Luis." She grinned and finished her cappuccino. Throwing the cup in the bin as she walked out the door. "So... Luis... Tell me about yourself..." She grinned up at him. Her green orbs meeting his.

"I think it only right that we get to know one another better."

Luis's eyes followed Patience's body as she walked before him. When he heard her voice, he looked up to the back of her head and then into her eyes when she turned to smile. "Ah sweetie...What would you like to know? I am an almost open book." he said giving her a wink.

As they walked through the door and to the car, he wondered if she would want to drive. "Want to drive, doll?"

She shook her head at the driving question. "No.. I'll just ride... I like looking at the scenary." She looked at him. "Well.. What would you like to tell me?" She teased.

Patience grinned and shook her head. "Sorry... You know.. childhood.. personal life... do you have a girlfriend... wife... children... you know... the stuff that people should know."

"Alright, I'll drive," he said, laughing at her little tease.

Luis unlocked the car, opened the driver door and climbed in. "Childhood is a little personal but I never really had one. I don't have much of a personal life either. I might go out sometimes on my day off to try to relax and get away from the job. Then again, I might stay in and do some reading or resting. Whatever tickles my fancy."

He laughed again at the girlfriend, wife, and children notion. "No, doll. I have no girlfriend or wife or children. I am alone in this world. Its why I can do this job without worrying about leaving someone behind to grieve my passing."

Luis turned his head to her, "Now, how about you?"

"Same with me... No boyfriend... no children... no nothing..." She shrugged. "But I read a lot... Sit in my pajamas and read most the time i'm off." she smiled at him. "Romance novels mostly." Blushing she shrugged again. "I guess most girls read them though." She said climbing in the car.

"But what do you read?"

"Thank you for the image of you in pajamas..." Luis said with a smile and a dreamy look.

"Books," he said, being a smartass. Luis laughed and the sound echoed through the empty care as he pulled out of the spot and started down the road. "Seriously, I like to read mystery books. I also enjoy dark stories and mythical things." He smiled over at her and said, "I do believe you are right. Most gals do like romance."

She shrugged. "Then I'm a statistic.... So sue me." She laughed a bit. "Mystery is good... Hmmm.... What about movies? I enjoy a good horror movie.." Patience smiled over at the other in the car. "I'm the girl who can watch tons of horror movies and not get scared, but scream to the top of my lungs when toast pops out of the toaster." She laughed a bit.

"Sorry but it's true." Patience took her hair out of the ponytail it was in so she could redo it. The barrettes underneath missed a little bit of hair. "Gah! I hate my hair..." She stated more to herself then to him. Getting her hair back up she looked at him. "Anyway."

Luis laughed at the joke she made at herself. "I don't see many movies. I rarely have the time to enjoy them." he said and watched her let her hair down. "You look prettier with your hair down."

He turned his head to watch the road and then let out, "I rather enjoy horror as well. Would you like to see a movie with me sometime?" Then, almost immediately, he said, "Sorry...it just slipped out."

She looked at him oddly when he said she looked better with her hair down. Shaking her head she took the blush away that was creeping it's way to being noticeable.

Patience smiled and nodded. "I wouldn't mind going to a movie with you." She bit her lip out of habit. "I haven't seen a good movie in awhile." She grinned. "Don't worry about the slipping... I understand it happens..."

His eyes went towards her but his head stayed facing forward. A smile came to Luis's face, "Is there a movie you are interested in seeing?" he asked her. He looked forward to the movie even though he didn't know which it was. "Maybe we can make it a date and do dinner too."

"OH... a date and dinner?" She teased. "I'm kidding." She smiled. Patience looked at him. "Dinner and a date sound wonderful...." She turned to look at him as best she could with the seat-belt across her chest.

She thought for a moment before speaking again. "So.. bad boy has a soft side?" Patience giggled a bit before sitting back in her seat the right way. "But as far as movies go.... My Bloody Valentine sounds good." She shrugged. "But so does The Unborn... How about you pick between those two."

"Only for pretty ladies," Luis said to Patience, giving her a wink. He pulled over to the side of the road, parking in front of a 7-11. "Need something to eat. Want anything?" he asked, undoing his seat belt. "Oh, and My Bloody Valentine sounds like something I will enjoy."

"Just a cappuccino is fine with me. French Vanilla if you don't mind." She smiled and handed him a five dollar bill for it. She grinned and fixed the barrettes in the back of her ponytail.

"Sorry I have a slight obsession with them." Patience grinned and looked up at him. "And thank you Luis." She was trying to hide the blush slowing creeping up about the pretty lady compliment.

"French vanilla cappuccino it is." Luis said, climbing out of the car, he left her holding the money. Pausing at the door, he leaned back in and smiled over to her. You are more than welcome, doll."

He shut the door and walked into the the store. Luis grabbed a sandwich from the cold area and walked over to get her a French Vanilla Cappuccino. Taking his things to the counter, he pulled out his wallet. Once the lady behind the counter rang it up, he took the money out and handed it to her. "Don't worry about a bag," he said, taking his change and carrying the things back out to the car.

Luis opened the door and passed her the drink. "Here you are doll." He climbed in and put his seat belt on. Taking the sandwich out, he took a bite, then started the car.

Patience blushed a bit and put the money back in her pocket.

Once he returned she took the cup and smiled. "Thanks again..." Her eyes looked up at him.

"I have to wonder... I've heard around the precinct that you've gone through as many partners as you have underwear.... Forgive the pun but I would like to know why? I'm just curious... You don't have to answer."

"No thanks needed." Luis smiled at her. He pulled out onto the road before he answered her question. "Well, it seems that some people cannot handle me and my attitude." he said. "The boss man won't get rid of me though, because I'm such a good cop. He just rides it off as me not finding my perfect match in partner. Or the fact that I live alone and don't even have a cat." Luis said with a laugh.

Patience laughed a bit about the cat thing. "Aww... Big bad boy doesn't have kitty cat either?" She teased and laughed a bit.

"And what do you think of me so far?" She laughed a bit. "I have my faults I know that... But outside of that." She looked up to hear the CB turn on for something happening down the road from where they were.

Domestic Disturbance. "Damn." She cursed slightly. "You take the guy... I'll talk to woman?" She looked up at her partner then.

"Guess I'll get back to your question later." Luis said to her and brought the speaker to his mouth. "723 Responding to domestic disturbance," he said and put the speaker back as a voice came back with a "10-4".

He pulled up to the building and looked to Patience. "Yeah, I'll take the guy, you get the gal." Luis said, smiling at her.

Luis got out of the car and approached the building. He could hear yelling coming from the building as he got closer to the door. He knocked, "This is the police. We got a call about a domestic disturbance." he said and waited for someone to answer the door.

Patience got out of the car and followed after Luis.

Her gun out just in case. One thing they taught her in training. "This might not be good."

Just then she heard a gunshot. "OH HELL!" She blushed at the word. 'Angel's aren't suppose to say that..' she told herself.
