A World Unknown

((Firstly, I'm terribly new to RP on Menewsha, so forgive me if I deviate from what it is you're used to...))

{This is a land much like Earth, but untainted by humans and their technology in most places. Fantasy elements of all kinds are commonplace. It begins at a strange house in the middle of a field, surrounded by woods.

There isn't a set plot, everyone just needs to bring their own party to the table. All kinds of characters are allowed, feel free to mix it up, as long as the traditional RP rules and Mene's TOS are followed. Ya know, no cybering, no godmodding, stuff like that. As long as you post something everyone can work with, length shouldn't matter. But do try your best to make your posts enjoyable to read!

If you're interested, just jump in. No need to PM me or however that works, just post your profile in whichever format you like and have FUN!}

Name: Sleix
Species: Dragon
Gender: Male
Age: 349 years
Appearance: A more 'western' styled dragon, his scales are silvery-blue in color, with the webbing between his wings being snowy white. Long, thin spikes follow his spine, and they can shift between standing up or folded flat along his back. They are black. His eyes are catlike and large, and they are vibrant orange. His forked tongue is orange like his eyes, and he spits acid rather than breathing fire. His claws are white like his wings and webbed to allow him to swim well.

eruvyreth 03-08-2009 10:43 PM

Thump. Thump. Thump. The muffled sound reached only its maker's ears as the great beast lounged in the sunlight. Sleix yawned and continued thrashing his tail rhythmically against the dirt as he observed the strange house. He could swear he saw movement in the windows a moment ago...

The grass made soft crunching noises as the dragon lifted himself off the ground and padded towards the house. It was a dry, hot day, and the field was turning brown. He paused at a large, ornamental window that was thrown wide open, sniffed the air carefully, then stuck his head inside to his shoulders. A long growl tore though his fangs, at first seeming like just that, but then it changed, turning into a string of greetings uttered in a few different languages. "Hello? I'm sure I saw something moving in here. If anyone's here, couldn't you come out and say hi?" Sleix repeated over and over in all the local tongues he knew.

Name: Hazel
Species: Dragon
Gender: Female
Age: 320-ish years
Appearance: Silver with a blue tint, with sparkling green eyes. Her wings are a little longer than average, but it allows her to fly longer. She can swim, but she's not very good. She can blow fire.

Hazel had been flying when she saw the house. It was colorful, and that's what grabbed her attention. She circled down on one side of the house. In the native tounge of the area, she heard someone asking, "If anyone's here, can you come out and say hi?" she she moved around the house and found another dragon. "Hi!" she said cheerfully.

eruvyreth 03-09-2009 04:13 PM

"Oof! What...?" Sleix mumbled, accidentally bashing his snout into the side of the window as he whipped around to see the female dragon. He coughed, trying to cover up his embarrassment. "Oh. Er, hi there." He straightened up as he spoke, resting slightly on his haunches. "Name's Sleix. Who might you be?" the dragon dipped his head as he asked, flourishing a front paw to add effect to the gesture.

silverkittyempress 03-09-2009 09:01 PM

Hazel smiled. She liked scaring people like that. "I am Hazel, nice to meet you Sleix." she said. "Do you live in this house?"

eruvyreth 03-09-2009 09:22 PM

Sleix shook his head, causing the fin-like ears on each side of it to flap. "Nah, I don't think I'd fit. Look inside, it's meant for human-sized somethings." He glances back to the window he nearly broke sheepishly. Then he rumbled, "Just watch your head on the way out, Hazel." He smirked, turning back to her and finally noticing her color. Very similar to his own, Interesting... "So, what brings you here?"

silverkittyempress 03-09-2009 09:24 PM

"Ohh, um, well, nothing much." she said. "the house just stood out so much, I had to come and see it." she looked inside. He was right, it was really for more human purpouses. There was a small table, a bookshelf, Nothing like her library though.

{{I do hope this is alright.}}

Name: Cytherea BloodMoon (nickname Cyth)
Race: One fourth human, one fourth ghoul, two fourths arch devil.
Age: Seven-hundred (looks eighteen-nineteen)
Gender: Female
Appearance: Cyth
Quick Facts: Cytherea has lived in solitude for quite a long time in this strange and enchanted house in the middle of nowhere. She looks blind, but that is just how her eyes are given her ghoul blood. She is mute, but can communicate using telepathy. She can telepathically talk to someone if she can see them. She always wears silk or soft cotton nightgown-like garbs. She has a strong power over black and blood magic.

Cytherea was in her study, writing when she heard voices from outside. Someone, male by the deepness of the voice, had called to see if anyone was home. Oh dear! I just need to finish up this paragraph and then I'll be done. She thought, writing just a little bit faster. Then another voice sounded in the front room. Female this time. The voices dimmed down just a bit, and Cytherea guessed they were talking outside.

She finally finished her writing and went to the front room and opened the front door into the wonderful spring air. Two dragons sat talking by her window.
"Good morning to you." she spoke into their minds.

eruvyreth 03-10-2009 02:11 AM

((It's perfect! Welcome!))

"Yes, that's what drew me to this area as well." He conversed lightly with the other dragon. Then thoughts that were most certainly not his interrupted his train of thought. Sleix started at Cyth's mental voice, not expecting such an intrusion, as he was listening more carefully to Hazel. He shook his head again, then looked at the doorway and blinked stupidly. He'd been sure nobody was inside, after his calls went unanswered.

It took him a moment, but he finally returned the greeting. "And good morning to you, as well. I apologize for the intrusion..."

silverkittyempress 03-10-2009 11:28 AM

Hazel wasn't used to having someone barge into her mind like that. She jumped a little, but she realized it wasn't a threat. "Oh, hello!" she said cheerfully. This girl was obviously either really good in color coordination, or maybe she was just trying to be friendly when inside was a deep secret. She loved imagining things like that.

Closet Shadow 03-10-2009 08:22 PM

Cytherea giggled lightly as the two dragons jumped. IT had been quite a long time since she had ever talked to anybody other than herself. The first one, the male, replied first. "And good morning to you, as well. I apologize for the intrusion..." he said, still a little taken aback. "Oh, hello!" said the female dragon, who was about the same shade of scale as the male.
"Sorry for startling you. It's been a long time since I've had visitors, I've forgotten my manners. And it is quite alright. As I said before, I very rarely get visitors at all, so it is nice to see you two." she said yet again into their minds.
Cytherea then curtsied.
"My name is Cytherea BloodMoon. Please, come in." She said again, opening the door for the two dragons.
To the naked eye, the small house looked like a normal cottage, but it was heavily enchanted, not normal at all. If needed, the house would grow, on the inside, to hold the two large dragons.

silverkittyempress 03-10-2009 09:22 PM

Hazel was soon accustomed to this odd way of speaking, and she watched as the house expanded to allow them to let them in. "I am Hazel. and this is Sleix" she said.

Closet Shadow 03-10-2009 09:32 PM

Cytherea smiled as the two dragons came in. The female introduced the two of them as Hazel and Sliex.
"Hazel is not a name I've heard commonly used for dragons." Cytherea commented.
Once the two dragons were settled, Cytherea opened more windows, so that there was more circulation, it was hot with the two dragons.
"Would you two like anything to eat?" Cytherea asked.
"I've a wide variety of food." she added.
She went over to one of the ten doors in the front room. Each door held four rooms, giving Cytherea plenty of space to live in. Except for the front door which only led outside.

eruvyreth 03-10-2009 09:50 PM

Sleix nods slowly as he rumbles, "It's pleasant to meet you, Cytherea BloodMoon." He followed Hazel and Cytherea inside, marveling at the enchantment. Settling into a snug position near a comfortable looking chair, he looked up to respond. Food?

He snorted, unable to help himself. Truly, he was the type to raid a village every once in a while. He did like to take a... souvenir or two on his way out. Though with a light sniff, passed off as his recovery at laughing, he could tell Cytherea would not taste quite right to him. Simple humans were the most delicious. "Thank you Cytherea, but I'm afraid I just finished a meal not long ago." Then he glanced about, noticing the sheer number of doors. "This is quite some home you have."

silverkittyempress 03-10-2009 09:52 PM

"Oh, I guess it's a little original." she didn't like talking about her parents and such. It made her nervous. "No, it's alright. I'm not hungry." She wasn't being polite either, she was sick to her stomach, trying to ban her parents from her mind.

Closet Shadow 03-10-2009 10:17 PM

Cytherea frown as something seemed to upset Hazel, but smiled again as Sleix began laughing at something that had occurred to him. Cytherea stepped away from the door she had her hand on, and sat on a extremely cushioned couch seat when the dragons both refused something to eat. Sleix comment on her house, most likely noticing the many doors. Cytherea laughed at that. Her laughter was the only voice she had. It sounded like silver bells with some dark meaning behind them, Cytherea loved the sound.
"When living all alone, you too would take all the space you could fit." she responded.
"If you would like, I can show you around. I have many rooms. A treasury, a library, a dining hall, are a few." Cytherea gave them a few examples of what she had stuff magically fit into her house.
Cytherea loved large open spaces, for whatever reason, she did not know. But because of her love for large spaces, almost every room in her house was large and could fit a plentiful amount of people and things.

silverkittyempress 03-11-2009 11:39 AM

"I would be delighted!" Hazel said, rising to her feet. She knew this house was magical, and it was pretty cool. She knew that her library would always be bigger.

eruvyreth 03-11-2009 04:05 PM

A grin flashed across Sle's face, relfecting his interest in the house. He supposed if he ever did decide to stay in his cave alone all the time, he would carve new spaces in it just to do so.

Glancing at Hazel, he laughed again, amused by her contagious good attitude. "Well, Miss Cytherea, it looks as if you've got a tour to give." Sleix rose to his feet, though keeping his head down at the same level as his shoulders, and his wings folded snugly against his flanks. He still didn't know how much magic was in this place, and he didn't want to push it and accidentally break something.

Despite his efforts, he forgot his tail. Flicking idly, it accidentally nicked the edge of a small table, setting it off balance, with anything that may have been resting on top.

Closet Shadow 03-11-2009 04:15 PM

Cytherea smiled widely as both Hazel and Sleix accepted her offer of a tour. She was just about to open the door closest to the front door on the left when she heard something hit sometime else. Sleix has accidentally knocked one of Cytherea's tables off balance. Right before as the table hit the floor, everything on it froze in mid-air. Cytherea had her hand out, holding the objects afloat with black magic. The table clattered loudly on the wooden floor, but everything that was on it, that could break, was safe. Cytherea placed the objects on a self higher up and lifted up the table upright. A few things had missed Cytherea's line of sight when the table fell and a tea cup or two had broken.

After that incident, which caused Cytherea no distress for it was not purposely done, she opened the door she had her hand on. At first all one could see was a jumble of images, but it soon settle on a large library. Cytherea stepped through the door and motioned for Hazel and Sleix to follow.

silverkittyempress 03-11-2009 07:24 PM

Hazel knew it was dark magic. This place just kept getting stranger and personally, more uncomfortable by the second. She followed Cytherea into what was a library at the moment. She wondered if it would bens and move, like what she was used to seeing dark magic as.

eruvyreth 03-12-2009 12:19 AM

Sleix grumbled to himself as he turned to the table, carefully lifting the broken pieces with the tips of his claws. He collected the shattered remains of one teacup into his left paw and took a moment. "I'm sorry about that, friend. Though, the good thing about keeping a hoard of treasure is that one learns the spells to repair fragile things." The pieces reassembled themselves and seemed to seal up at the cracks. After repairing what he could, he set the items back down where they belonged, then went to stand by Hazel, allowing her to go first out of his 'ladies first' sort of attitude. It seemed she was getting uncomfortable about something. It couldn't be the enchantments of this place... She was a dragon, surely she'd be accustomed to such things? Perhaps she was different. She did have a different sort of name, perhaps it said something about her upbringing...

Sle shook his head of the thoughts, trying to keep himself from looking dazed for what must have been the thousandth time today. He instead looked into the new room, and his bright eyes lit up. "Marvelous..."

Closet Shadow 03-12-2009 12:36 AM

The library ceiling and walls expanded a little for the dragons to fit more comfortably. Hazel still seemed worried about something, but Sliex looked amazed. "I've mostly spell books in here, but I do have a number of history books, maps, and a few of the original written journals of King Elleron, lord of my birthplace." Cytherea stated the last part with pride. She much respected King Elleron, and being trusted with some of his journals made her feel good. King Elleron was a great vampire tyrant who could rule a kingdom of waring races in peace. He amazed Cytherea.

"When you are done here, tell me, where would you like to go next?"
Cytherea asked as the dragons looked about.

silverkittyempress 03-12-2009 11:31 AM

Hazel went to a bookshelf and started looking at titles. have, have, have, have....... wait! she paused. there was a huge dark magic book right in the middle of the bookshelf. She tried not to show how uncomfortable she was, but quickly backed up and said, "What a marvelous collection."

eruvyreth 03-12-2009 04:27 PM

Sleix looked around for a moment before deciding which direction to take. He turned slightly left, weaving between shelves with a serpentine grace one might not expect from such a bulky type of dragon. Stopping at a wall-side bookcase, he looked at the titles on his eye level, but was quickly distracted by a silver-leaf and jeweled cover a few rows down. "Ooh..." He crouched to look at it, carefully removing it from the shelf. A history. Of elves. Sle had had no idea any of the elven races made such riches as to have jeweled history books. He gaped at the cover, unable to resist picturing it on his reading table, open until he finished, then sitting gloriously at the front of his Elven collection. It would stand out so well! Most of his items were gold or bronze, meager shiny things. This had color, and the silver practically glowed...

Sleix spun, shuffling over to Hazel and Cyth, and held the text before the other dragon. "Hazel, have you ever seen such a gaudy cover?" he crooned, using the term 'gaudy' in such an endearing way it was practically another word, such as 'lovely' or 'exotic' or 'incredible', all of which it was.

He looked to Cyth after his excitement began to ebb and he was calm enough to think again. "You mentioned a King Elleron? I feel like I've heard his name before. I'd love to learn about him and your home, if it's not intrusive."

((I felt a new color was in order. :P))

silverkittyempress 03-12-2009 07:32 PM

Hazel looked at the book. It was beautiful, but she had one that looked not like that but similar. "Yes, I guess." she said.
