[alright, i'll wait before replying then.]

Edit;

[sorry its short again. x.x]

Cara's smile faded rather quickly at Wolfe's question, knowing the subject of what had just happened was inavoidable; it still had to be explained to teh group that had gone after Wolfe. Her gaze turned away from the group again, now embarrassed and angry at the man who she still called, and will be related to amongst the group as her father. In her thoughts, she had not been paying much mind to teh conversation, again only catching the last bit as her thoughts cut off. Some of them.. left? Somehow she had missed this, her eyes immediately returning to the 'newcomer's group', searching for teh missing faces. at this, she was only further ashamed with particular members of her family, the only member left in their group was Vienna. Not only family members, but several old friends of hers, people she'd never had suspected this of. How naive... she only thought, her expression again falling.

Vienna exhaled a breath she hadn't known she had been holding. Cheng Yu, she found, was a very interesting and... trusting individual. Not only did she respect this man, but she now found herself with great gratitude towards him, giving her group a second chance after such events. Her eyes went to Xander, whom she was also friends with, and she managed a grin, though the subject they were explaining to Wolfe and teh group that was absent called for different emotion from her.

Xander's face fell, hearing this news, especially after the last bit, some members of the group were still loyal to the bastard. He himself was a bit confused, especially at the fact that the man had turned into a lizard, but decided not to ask.

Sylus followed the remaining members of their group with his eyes, he would be the ones to kill them in the future if he knew the hearts of these people. He had his own brand of compassion, yet he believed that it justified him killing. He believed that life did not end upon death, that it ended upon something great on the other side. He had felt himself there once, but he was not sure what it was. He had felt among the spirits, a great power flowing through him. This Chakra the humans seemed to be so obsessed with this energy that flowed through all living life forms. Some of them lacked belief in it, but the majority of them had some obsession with a higher power. Cara was not a true human in his eyes, all true humans went down with earth. She was simply a humanoid to him, nothing more.

Sylus was the most daring individual of the group, if he had a hunch or a question, there would be nothing that would stop him from at least attempting to get the information. He knew that Cara would not betray the group, but he had to know this information. Sylus in all of his long haired shirtless glory stepped forward slowly, the group lifting their heads from the feeling of reality giving them a big slap to the face wearing off only temporarily. Everyone seemed to release a huge sigh after this, knowing that the question eventually would come up. Nex widened his eyes. "I have a few questions for you.... And I am sure you know exactly what they are going to entail." He paused, raising a single hand to push aside some hair from his eyes, revealing his strangely colored pupils, they glowed a dark purple. "Did you know that your father had this strange metamorphasis ability within him? Does it come from a magical ability or is it part of his mutated DNA? Will you become a lizard next?" He paused for a moment, letting her answer those two before continuing. "... You've known your father for the longest time out of all of us. Tell me why you did not see this coming? Were you blind... Or were you just hopeful?"

If Wolfe questioning this just moments ago hadn't racked Cara's mind enough, Sylus' blunt approach to questioning sure as hell did. Vienna took a breath as f to start talking, but Cara dismissed her with her hand. These questions were for her directly, and she knew it washer who needed to answer them. Whether or not she knew the true answers. "I feel its necessary to say that my father went missing when I was 9 years old. I'm not sure whether he was lying or not, but he did say he went to get genetic enhancements from the IAP, which I do believe to be true. I do not think myself to have any connections between his... turning into a lizard." she stated rather plainly, hoping she was right. If, atop everything else she did indeed turn into a lizard... she go completely insane, if she hadn't already. "It's true that I've known him the longest, but I fear I also know him the least. I.. I have seen him as a lizard before. The first time my village was raided, the same year he disappeared. I did not recognize him, and did not suspect him of being my father." she then paused, just now seeing how deep her blindness had been. "He took everything he possibly could from me.. killed my mother, and did things to me, which I would never expect of a father to do to their daughter." she again paused, her voice turning cold as she spoke about him at this point. "I believe it is needless to say, after explaining this to you, I was indeed very blind to it."

Sylus wondered what was going through her mind as she was questioned, knowing that she had a difficult life, he took every word she said seriously, nodding and showing no emotion. He felt now was not the time for comforting, just objective observation. "You remind me of myself in so many ways Cara... You have dealt with hardships beyond what a humanoid is expected to endure these days and you still keep on fighting. I admit, I respect you highly for that." He paused for a moment, Nex keeping his eyes on him the entire time, he was close to Cara just in case she needed the support.

"But I have one more question for you before I shut myself up entirely. A man does not simply waltz into the IAP to get genetic upgrades. There was never a day that was possible. You either have to be of an extremely high ranking in the IAP, obtain an immense amount of something the IAP wants, or have connections within the IAP that rank up to the supreme ruler of that organization. How did he do it?" He paused, awaiting her answer, but deciding it was only fair to add this little section. "To return the favor so it does not seem I am nailing you down with these questions on a one sided scale.... You may ask me of my past...."

As Sylus told her of his respect for her, Cara knew there was more. There was a feeling, a tone.. she couldn't describe it. She wasn't surprised at the second question. However, she was indeed surprised at how easily the answer came to her. "I.. I would not be very surprised if either were true." she stated, pausing afterwards. She knew this would need explaining, but she herself had just come to this conclusion without thought. "When I was little, my father was always away on business. My mother and I believed that he was working in other towns, but for what I do not know and I never questioned. He had.. odd friends over, he said he did business with them,, but I never quite understood. I know that when my mother was killed by this man, she had found something out, that until now I didn't suspect. I'm not quite sure what, but either of those possibilities would fit in to the scenario." This was hard for her to say, especially since, putting it all together, it angered her to see her blindness, and confused as to why he did such things. This was especially mind boggling to her since they were, still indeed, in a rather large group and she was sharing personal information so openly. after this, she waited a few moments before replying to his offer on her asking a question. "I have no questions for you as of yet. When I have one, I may just take you up on your offer."

Sylus looked upon her for a moment before speaking again. "Do not curse yourself for this, all children are taught to be blind to their parent's negative influence, its a sad sight to see really... But it happens more often then not... Its amazing to see you not as a pirate..... Or a corpse. I was lucky that my parents died before I was able to be influenced..." This was all he said, leaving many questions in the heads of all the people around them as he walked away to spend the rest of his day alone

Cheng Yu was the first to speak, "You took that well Cara... My father has never been that.... Polite to anybody." said the old man with a half-grin, trying to improve the mood. Wolfe looked to Sylus, "I don't know about you... But If he would have continued and I was in your situation.... He probably wouldn't have been standing for long." He said honestly. Nex was the next to talk, putting both hands on Cara's shoulders, "Is everything alright... Sylus kind of bombarded you with 20 questions... Must have been frustrating." He knew that she was strong enough to say no, yet he pondered as to why she did not stop him when the questions began to grow more personal.

Cara let out a breath she hadn't known she'd been holding as Sylus left. His.. consulting to what had just happened in her life did not help much if at all, but she was glad for it. She saw him walk off alone again, which seemed to be his element. But Cara would ask about this later. She turned to Yu as he spoke, then Wolfe, grinning at their attempt to lighten the mood. As Nex spoke, she then turned to him, and nodded at his question. "I am fine.. I think I owed everyone some questions after my father's little stunt, anyways." she replied softly, herself now having new questions about this. Cara felt a bit exhausted after today's events and she found herself seeking comfort in Nex's arms, hugging him rather than turning to talk to anyone else.

Small talk broke out in little pieces from the 'newcomers group', started by those who wanted to end the awkward silence, perhaps as a favor to Cara. And she was grateful for this, though she knew not who started this. She relaxed where she was, looking up at Nex for a moment before looking down. Questions flooded her mind, and it seemed that she now had a question for Nex, one that would other her endlessly until she had the oppurtunity to question her father. "If.. If I turned into a lizard, would you still love me?" she asked, rather seriously and hopefully.

Nex put his arms around her, Yu overhearing the starting of conversation all around him, for once in his life, he felt like he needed a drink. Something heavy. He pulled a bottle out of his pocket. Kept for emergencies only, he pulled a small glass from the top of it and poured the liquid from the bottle into the small glass. Downing the glass quickly, he shook and made a noise as though it had taken a lot out of him, he was not the only one feeling the effects of this though. Sylus felt the alcohol catch up to him, losing his balance, he released a loud groan and fell forward. Face planting right in the middle of his walk, remembering the two large bottles he had downed earlier... It amazing that it did not effect him until now, but Sylus was a strange creature who was like this. He groaned yet again, pushing himself up.

Nex's eyes were only on her, the one that he loved. He knew it would be different if she had ever turned into a lizard, but he spoke what was on hid mind on the subject, his arms tightened around her as he kissed her on the forehead. "Inside.... I know it would still be you.... Your heart, the woman I had fallen in love with." He ran a hand through her hair, "There would be no way I could not love you.... No matter what..." he said with a warm smile, kissing her on the forehead yet again.

Cara immediately smiled after his reply. "Good, cause ya scared me there for a minute." she said teasingly, smiling as she did so. She tilted her head up so the when he leant in to kiss her forehead, she caught his lips. The mood change since this conversation was a miracle in her mind, but she didn't care. She would keep her mood as happy as long as she could, pushing out all other thoughts for the moment.

Vienna and Xander were standing nearby, both of their eyes on Nex and Cara. Vienna sighed, and Xander just shook his head. "Our little girl's growing up." he said purposely loudly, pretending to wipe a fake tear form his face. Vienna joined in this, pretending to start sobbing, burying her face in his arm. Cara frowned a bit hearing this, not happy that she was interrupted et again from being with Nex, and turned to face her friends. They instantly straightened up and left each other's side, acting as if nothing had happened. They had got the hint.

Nex smiled, laughing quietly with her response. As she rose her head he felt his lips make contact with something he was not intending to touch at first. However, that did not stop him, he smiled into the kiss, it lasting lingeringly and slowly as he pulled away slowly. He then lifted his head to see that Xander and Vienna were just joking around, he grinned, looking at the two of them. "Your little girl has been grown up longer than you know then." He then looked into her eyes with a warmness in his heart. It was late by now, easily 11 o clock, "We should go to our resting quarters in the starship... Its getting late." He gave her another kiss, suddenly finding himself in a much better mood.

Sylus pulled himself from his drunken faceplant, Mavericks all around him laughing at this, indeed it was obvious he was a lightweight. He pulled himself away from the group, leaning up against the wall and sliding down in a sitting position. He passed out right there, not caring how comfortable it was.

Cara simply laughed at this, looking up into his eyes. Though things had not been the brightest today, she was.. happy. In an odd sense. She nodded in response to him, letting out a yawn as if on cue. Cara happily returned the second kiss, putting a bit more effort into it than the first one, but pulling away just as slowly. "C'mon." she said softly, gently grabbing his hand and heading back towards the ship.

Vienna sighed in disappointment, seeing how Sylus had just... passed out. She found this to be rather lame coming from him. And, for some reason, she also didn't like it. She walked over to him and attempted to lift him up a bit, only succeeding in getting his upper body off of the ground. She sighed, then saw Xander. She called him over, and asked him to help her. He was confused as to why she would do this, but it didn't matter. If Sylus had not woken up, they would have successfully carried his body into the starship and lay in a a bed, rather than letting him sleep on the ground. Satisfied, Vienna left, as well as Xander, who was, at this point, still confused.

Nex loved her kisses, every second of the two of them kissing was another moment of pure bliss for him. He was sure to stay as long as he could against her lips.

The ship was currently about 2000 kilometers above them, out in the outer atmosphere of this planet and protected by the powerful force of gravity which prevented people from floating off into the black nothingness that is space. A blue light appeared on the ground about 20 feet away from Nex and Cara. Nex explained it to be a transportation device that would lead them back to the main hallway. Their bedroom was not too far away from that location. Nex led her there, the transportation not having any effect on Nex, it would just feel as though the two of them were stepping on ground as it quickly changed into metal. If she had a very weak stomach however, she might be effected somewhat.

Sylus stood silent, he made no noise at all in his sleep at all, as though he was in a trance. But upon the feeling of another against him, that trance and any trace of his drunkenness seemed to leave. At first he gritted his fist and tensed up, ready to smash whoever disturbed his sleep into the ground. But as he came to his senses he relaxed at her grip and pulled himself to a standing position, brushing the dirt from his past he hid his embaressment with the length of his hair. He saw Xander coming up to help as well, great... Well, from this point on, no more alcohol.... He sighed softly and turned halfway toward her, "Thank you.... But... I'll be fine... Don't worry about me." He said, pulling himself up now that the redness on his face had entirely left.

[short, sorry >.<]

Cara was a bit confused by the concept of the transportation light they had stepped into, though it had little effect on her. She simply blinked a few times, returning to the ship, not have expecting it to have gone so smoothly, especially after the way they had come down. She followed after Nex, her hand still around his as they went to their bedroom. When they arrived, she went straight to the bed and sat down, the mattress beneath her feeling nice on her exhausted form.

Vienna only stepped away quickly, looking away as if in embarrassment. "Alright." she said quickly, before walking off, making sure to get as far away from that group of people as possible. What was with her? She was just being... decent.

[s'allright]

Nex could have explained why, but he was a bit too tired to do any of those things. He walked into the room lazily, seeing the bed which was his haven that would take him away temporarily. Everyone needed the rest, the first day was already very tiring, and it would not get any better in the future. He plopped down upon the bed, his full body just hitting the bed head first, causing the mattress to bounce a bit in reaction. It was evident was eager to get off of his feet.

Sylus lifted his head just in time to see her head torned away, while everything seemed fine just a moment ago, now something seemed to be wrong. Sylus in his curious nature could not help but dig, but he was kind about it. He placed a hand on her shoulder, "Wait..." He said simply, "There is something in your actions.... You seem eager to leave... Is something wrong?" He remembered the offer he made to her earlier when the two had met, it now held firm at this moment.

Cara had had her eyes closed when Nex plopped onto the bed, and she opened them only to smile and giggle at her love. She turned towards him, gently kissing the side of his neck that she could reach from there. Cara was already half asleep, sleep could take her at any moment. She knew this, but she had no problem with sleeping in her current position. She was exhausted.

Vienna almost jumped, startled by the hand on her shoulder. Not because it was any hand, she got that often, but because she knew it was Sylus'. She let out a soft sigh and turned to face him, her eyes locking with his momentarily. "Everything is wrong. But nothing in particular." she said softly. Truth was, she was more confused about why she had cared for where the man slept, which almost scared her. And when she was scared, she ran away. In this situation, attempting to leave was her form of running.

Nex smiled, tired himself, but at least sure to remove his shirt and tossing it aside so he would not sleep in all of today's clothing. With his other arm he reached around and pulled her close until the two were closely snuggled up next to each other. He tilted his head toward her, his head just above hers, lowering his head every once and a while to give her a kiss. He could sleep where he was as well, he had no problem with sleeping with Cara in this way, but knew that Nex was a mover in his sleep when he was restless, and he knew he would be restess with all that was running in his mind. He hoped it would not disturb her sleep, but his mind was not on that right now, his eyes were heavy.

Sylus rose an eyebrow, she had avoided the question, meaning she did not want to talk about it. However, he thought it would be best to not leave her alone about this. Whatever her problem was it obviously involved him, and she was not going to avoid it. "Those who constantly run away from their problems often find themselves running into them along the way. Eventually those problems will stop them in their tracks. It is best to get them out of the way now, or at least find peace temporarily. Come on.... Let me take you to a place where I go to think. Not a sound beyond nature can be heard there, I think it would help give you peace, do you want to?" He questioned, already ready to walk there with her.

Cara let out a soft groan. She didn't want to sleep in dirty clothes, it was an issue for her. Getting up, but not bothering to walk to the bathroom, she changed her clothes, into a tank top and silky bottoms. These were definitely clothes she could sleep in. Comfortable, she reclaimed her spot, snuggled up close to Nex. Her eyelids were heavy, so she decided she may as well say goodnight now. "Goodnight, my love." she said softly, gently kissing his cheek.

Vienna sighed, seeing that she would not be able to escape from this. Not only that, but the place he very shortly described sounded rather peaceful, and nice in her mind. She nodded in agreement, turning fully around to face him now. "I'd like that." she admitted softly.

While she was up, Nex deciding on removing the rest of his own clothing. He was now in his boxers, a good enough sleeping attire for him. He sighed, his arms around her as she came back down to him. "Goodnight Cara.... I love you..." he said quietly in her ear. Then he allowed sleep to take away what was left of his connection with reality. He slept soundly, squirming occasionally in his sleep.

Sylus walked at his own pace out the western gate of the city. He did not take much time, knowing exactly where he was going in this maze of a forrest, it did not take them more than 15 minutes before they found the clearing which Sylus had talked about. He was sure to allow her to catch up just in case she needed to.

It was a beautiful sight, something that was out of character for the dark and dreary Sylus. There was a single, large tree stump with vines encircling it, a garden of flowers surrounding the dead tree. The light was no longer here, but the moom peeked its way through a hole in the trees which was positioned around the area of the tree stump. Sylus wasted no time, walking up to the tree stump and sitting on one end of it, there was more than enough room on the massive stump for both of them. "If you have never meditated before you will know what to do.... Simply pretend there is nothing around you, and whenever you feel comfortable with talking.... If you wish to, you may tell me."

Cara smiled softly, closing her eyes and relaxing at his words. "I love you too, Nex." she whispered ever so softly, so as not to wake him if he had already been taken by sleep. Within moments Cara herself was asleep. she slept rather well, and unmoving, as was usual for her.

Arriving at the clearing, Vienna was rather awe struck. Not only had she not expected such a place of Sylus, but that he could find such a beautiful spot so quickly.. it was almost unimaginable. Hesitantly, Via walked over to the tree stump, sitting at the opposite end. She had never had trouble talking to people, with the exception of her earlier encounter with Wolfe, and now. This was odd to her, an she couldn't help but feel a bit awkward, sitting there. What did he want her to say? What was there to say? Did he want her to still answer his earlier question? Sighing, Vienna got up off of the log, laying in the flower covered grass as opposed to sitting. She found this much more comfortable. "It's a beautiful thinking place, you have here." she said softly, her gaze locked on the sky.

Sylus took a while to respond to her words, he was in the same trance as before. He opened an eye, it looked down to her as she spoke. "Yes.... Yes it is. It is very peaceful, it gives me time to think..." He sighed, out of his meditative state right now. He looked downward at the grass, "... Of all the things I have done, and of all the things I have yet to do." He paused, for a moment, obviously frustrated, but not depressed. "You know, its not easy being faced with a difficult decision. Especially when that decision involves you taking billions of lives... Nobody understood why I did the things I did back at Earth. Only I can do that... Its true, I ended the lives of an uncountable amount of people, but I did it to stop something from coming to its true power.... I can still feel his heartbeat in the Cathedral. Genesis...." He spoke the name with such hate, Genesis, obviously a name which he held a great amount of hate for. Whoever he referred to, it was the reason for him killing many people. Sylus paused in his thought, smiling a bit, another thing which was out of character for him, yet today was special. He almost never vented, not wanting to burden others with his cause. He never cried, he never bitched, and he never complained about his own life. That does not stop him about complaining about others though. "I apologize... This is not really for me, I just usually think about this stuff while in peaceful locations. I'm not used to people following me here. But this is not my time, this is your time. You may relax or tell me what was bothering you back here. That is your choice." He paused, falling back and treating the stump as a bed for himself. His hands were behind his back as he rested, but he kept his ears open for any response.

Vienna sat up while she spoke, rather interested in his story. She did not know this full story, and she doubted many did.. it was something she'd wanted to hear. However, when he stopped, she knew he was waiting on her to talk, not himself. Letting out a soft sigh, Vienna gain let her body drop back onto the grass, her fingers going to fiddle with the stem of a rather pretty flower that was next to her. "What was bothering me, eh?" she repeated softly, not quite sure the answer to this herself. "Well.." she started, then stopped, not sure how to explain what was... unexplainable to her. "I was going to carry you to your room with the help of Xander... this much you know. when you woke up, I suppose I was.. I don't know.. confused and scared." her voice faded a bit after this, not sure how to continue at the moment. "When I get scared or confused, I run.. I attempted to walk away, Supposedly my form of running.. But I'm guessing none of this is really answering your question." Vienna didn't have to say that, she knew it. He wanted to know what was bugging her, not her point of view of what happened earlier. "I don't know the answer, myself, though."

Sylus was confused, and not many things were able to confuse him at this state in his life. He spun himself around on the stump, now facing her directly and leaned over, looking her n the eyes after she repeated what he had already known, save for one thing. Confused, scared? Why would a human be confused and scared for the desire to help others, this should be a good thing, should it not? Sylus and his expression did not change at all, he thought to himself, trying to find an answer. For the life of him, he could not come close to pointing it out. "That makes absolutely no sense. A human should be naturally attracted to the idea of helping another human being. Although there are some special cases that are excluded. Were you afraid that I was going to harm you if I had awakened? And being confused... There is no reason to be...." He paused for a moment, hatching an idea in his brain. It was a long shot with the way she seemed to behave, yet it was all he had at the moment. "Are you not accustomed to helping others Vienna?" He asked, finally saying her name for the first time in the process.

Vienna let out a soft sigh at Sylus' obviously confused look. She herself didn't know what was the matter with her, as trying to get away when being found out for... trying to get a guy off of the ground. What is with me? Stupid, stupid, stupid. She did, however, know the answer to his next question, which was completely and utterly obvious to her. "I didn't think you'd harm me.." her voice trailed off as his had, seeing a new expression. Kind of like a "eureka" type one. This next question alarmed her, her eyes widening and she instantly stood up, rather quickly, in a manner that she twisted something in her foot wrong, causing her to just sit again. She also noticed something,.. he had said her name. This was odd, for whatever reason, and this oddness also confused her. "I help others.. usually not.. people I just met." she said softly and carefully, wondering if that had something to do with it.

So she was not one of those with a naturally kind spirit to strangers... What made me different then? Sylus sighed, he had this happen to him once before, but barely saw Vienna to be the one to do it. A woman who had pitied his natural preference to be by himself, she attempted to drag him back into the group multiple times until Sylus had to verbally rip her head off to get her to stop. It was not a pretty sight, but he knew that it was the only way to get what he wanted, to be left alone. Sylus wondered exactly what made her feel sorry for him if that was the case. "The way I see it.... It is one of two things. For some reason something in your mind has some kind of connection to me. Or something else in your mind has caused you to feel sorry for me. If it is the first option, We are back to square one of wondering exactly what that thing is. Tell me Vienna, do you pity me?" Sylus did not feel this situation called for harshness, he did not believe she was the person to push things when she knew things were getting too far.

Vienna's gaze went downward a bit after this, suddenly not so happy with her decision. It would sound bad. Why it mattered to her if it would sound bad only confused her further, causing great frustration within her. However, her eyes and the biting of her lip were the only things that would show this. She plopped back down onto the soft grass, yet another sigh escaping her lips. This was going nowhere. "I don't take pity upon others easily.. I highly doubt it is that." she stated rather simply. Via did know she shared a bit of sympathy towards him, knowing that.. what he did on earth was not easy, to say the least.
