Nex walked himself into the room and quickly plopped down upon the bed, he felt the ship moving soon after, uncaring as of now, he knew that they were just finding a safer location to land. All he did was close his eyes and sigh, ready to sleep right there.
Sylus lifted his head out of its hiding position, turning toward her as she stood up. Perhaps... This is exactly what she was asking... To love again... What is going through her mind...? "Vienna..." He reached up and grabbed hold of her wrist gently, "What do you think I've been doing ever since we started talking? I've told you things that nobody else knows outside of me and Yu. I have been opening up, I'm just not very social. Alright...?" He heard the hurt in her voice, feeling as though he had insulted her in some way. "I heard the hurt in your voice... And the last thing I want to do is hurt you... I enjoy your company, I really do." Sylus pulled himself up so the two were face to face and took hold of her hand comfortingly. "Tell me... What is it? Something is wrong, something has been bugging you and it involves me. Just please.... I'm listening?" Sylus's voice held a kindness in it that he had never used before. A kindness that let her know he was there for her. Now all he had to do was hear what she had to say. |
Cara walked in, following suit after Nex, plopping down onto the bed beside him. This time, she was by far too tired to change into sleep wear, she could sleep right then and there, physical exhaustion finally taking its toll on her body.
Vienna inhaled sharply feeling his hand on her wrist, slowly turning to face his again. She nodded, knowing this. She had been asking too much of him, and too fast. She let out a breath as he mentioned the hurt tone of her voice, her eyes going elsewhere, not having the courage to look him in the eyes at the moment. A light blush covered her cheeks as he took her hand into his, though she knew that comfort was all he meant. She ahd been asking herself this question all day and night, and now.. in her physically exhausted state, she had found her answer. She shifted awkwardly where she stood, not wanting to drop the bomb... but she did. Rather quickly, too. "I fear I'm falling for you.. of course I will not ask anything of this sort from you.. as you have already said, you would need someone as strong as you anyways." Her voice about broke just then. She had never done something of this sort before, and it was rather nerve racking to her. Taking a deep breath, wanting to hold back whatever emotions now wanting to escape, she again turned from him. "Now if you'll excuse me, I need to find somewhere to sleep." she spoke softly, voice cracking as she fought back something she had dreaded. She had not truly cried since she was 9 years old, and fragile. Earlier when he had been taken was only the second time in her life, but it still puzzled her as to why she was holding in sobs now. |
Sylus has his mouth open and his jaw drop to the ground as she said this. It was a shock for him, it was beyond a shock to him. Why had she fallen for me? I'm not that great! I'm nothing! I've been distant and I only helped her because I thought she could use a break from it all. Sylus only sought someone as strong as him because he knew that their limitations would almost never be met on the battlefield. He would not have to worry about losing her, he would never have to worry about this... The two would be at an equillibrium. Sylus felt this thought tossed aside and shattered like glass against the wall. He felt the stone of his heart stabbed through and the blood flowing out upon the ground for the world to see. His hand went limp and his legs went weak. "Vienna..." He said her name one final time, "I could never be good enough for you anyway. I.... I'm sorry..." Before she turned away, Sylus did something completely out of character. A tear fell from one of his eyes, he closed them and the two would part ways with Sylus's mood going downhill. He would sleep in the cargo hold tonight.

Vienna didn't bother to turn around, she did not want him to see her in a state such as this. She used to be the girl with commitment problems, the one that never got into relationships or even thought about them, but in one day, her world had completely changed. The tears escaped her eyes even before she had left. Vienna simply nodded in understanding before walking away, trying desperately to hold in the tears, but of no sue. She kept walking, only until she reached a turn, pressing her back against the wall and sliding down to the floor, the tears running free now. She had chosen this against however many times she'd warned herself, however many times she'd told herself no to love.. it found her, it got her. And man, was it a bitch.
Cara awoke for the second time that night hearing quiet sobs from outside their room. What the hell? At this hour? Sighing softly, she got up, careful not to disturb Nex is he was sleeping. Slowly she crept over to the door, opening it and peeking her head outside. "Via?" her voice was soft as she saw her friend in this position. She had only seen her cry a few times in her life, and this confused her. Vienna slowly lifted her head to look at her, eyes red already. "Oh, Vienna." she quickly approached her, keeping her voice soft as she attempted to comfort her. |
Sylus sat in the cargo hold alone, his eyes to the ground. Within an instant his heart had shattered into small pieces and were thrown out to the vast blackness of space. He had opened up to Vienna, and in the process he felt as though he had made a major mistake. He had broken her heart, and in the process his own heart had been broken. He truly cared for Vienna, but if anything was to happen to her because of him... He could never forgive himself. That is why he could not return the love, because then she would be directly involved with the danger that was his life. She had no idea what she was getting into.
Cheng Yu had been awakened by the cries of two individuals, he grumbled to himself as he walked out with a glow stick in his hand. Looking to the left and seeing Vienna who was crying upon the ground, and to the right where he could feel Sylus's dark energy escaping the cargo hold. Something was very wrong, Sylus could not sleep and Vienna was crying on the ground. Cheng Yu walked up to the two of them, evident that he was not in the best mood. "Judging by the set-up of things Sylus must have done something stupid again. I apologize for whatever he has done to you... What was it...?" Yu questioned, wondering exactly what had been going on between Sylus and Vienna for the past few days. |
Vienna again rose her head to face Yu, simply shaking her head. "There's no need to apologize, he has done nothing wrong." she said simply, not wishing to humiliate herself any further. Cara gently rubbed her cousin back, embracing her to attempt some sort of comfort to her. She wasn't sure what had happened for sure, but it seemed there had been heart break involved, a state which killed her to see Vienna in. "I apologize if I woke you." she said rather shakily, the tears from her finally stopping. They would resurface later, she knew that for sure, but she did not need anyone else seeing her in such a state.

Cheng Yu rose an eyebrow, She has had her heart broken... And the only one up I know of is.... Sylus. "Do not worry about waking me up.... I just need to take care of some things." He said, walking off towards the cargo hold.
"What happened back there...? She is completely depressed." Sylus said nothing to Cheng Yu's question, he only walked towards the wall, resting his head against the metal. "Come on, you cannot hide it. She felt something for you at some point in the past few days. What happened?" Sylus said nothing for a long pause, he turned his head a bit toward him. "Who am I to fathom the depths of human emotion. Who am I to even deserve to be around such a proud and noble people..." Yu hadn't seen this side of him before, he was depressed, it was evident with his words. "Sylus, you've spent your entire life saving these humans. You cannot say that with a whole heart." Sylus kept his eyes to the floor, thinking a bit with that last statement. With a whole heart..... "You know what... I actually agree with you on that one. I can no longer say anything with a whole heart. For it was broken ever since my first mistake. I was never made for love, I was only made to be a great and mighty hero." Sylus spat the word hero with such disgust it is as though he had always dreaded the idea. Cheng Yu shook his head again. "I see you are not listening to reason right now. She was in love with you, and you must have at least felt something toward her, it is why you cannot be with her at this moment." Sylus gripped his hand into a fist and turned around to meet his son's gaze. Sylus spoke in a pure blind rage toward his own son, "You dare tell me to listen to reason after what had happen the first time. The only thing I have been listening to is reason. I am deaf to my own heart, I am deaf to my emotions, I have no choice but to do what I am doing now! I don't want to see her hurt! I don't want to see what had happened the last time happen to her! I don't think I wouldn't be able to take it if it happened again... My heart wouldn't be able to take it again..." He collapsed to the ground, his hand still clutched into a fist. He released some of his hanger, punching a dent into the floor of the hold. The sound echoed through the entire ship, causing Nex to stir in his sleep. |
Vienna silently cursed, hearing Sylus' yelling, the whole ship shaking a bit in his wrath. This made her jump a little, relaxing for the moment and closing her eyes. It was then that Cara caught on. She had heard bits of the yelling at Yu, and she was for the most part, caught up. "That's cruel to the both of you." was all she said, embracing her friend tightly as the tears again came to her. Vienna shook her head again, disagreeing. She saw reason in Sylus' actions, and did not blame him for it... besides it was her that had fallen for him, and she had a feeling it may as well be one sided. Cara's curiosity got the best of her, and she peeked around the corner, spotting Yu and Sylus. Sylus looked hella angry. "Perhaps... you should talk to him?" Vienna's eyes opened quickly at this idea, and she again shook her head. "He has made his point clear. I will not disrespect that by challenging it."

Cheng Yu slowly walked out of the cargo hold with Sylus still in his terrible mood. "He is not in the best mood..." He said as he saw that Vienna and Cara were not too far away from the door leading to the hold. He overheard a bit of Vienna's conversation, deicing to comment. "I think it would be best for you to know... Sylus does indeed care for you... In fact, he cares quite deeply for you. I do not know if he is in love or not... But with the way he is acting right now... He wishes he could be with you... I think you should talk to him." Sylus was now laying upon the ground, not caring that the steel was cold beneath him.

Cara and Vienna looked up as Yu spoke, both of their eyes going to him. Cara let out a soft sigh, patting Vienna's back. "I think you should as well." Vienna looked to Cara, searching for the encouragement she had needed before standing, attempting to clean up her face a bit before nodding at Yu. "Alright.." Cara stood as well, rubbing her cousin's back once more before Via went to the cargo hold rather quietly. Vienna spotted Sylus laying upon the floor, looking, as Yu said, to be not in the best mood. Not wanting to push him, she quietly approached, sitting cross-legged upon the cold steel a couple feet away from his head. She did not wish to anger him further by invading his space, however, his seemingly upset state bothered her. Vienna did as she had earlier, slowly moving a hand to one of his ears again, gently rubbing it.

Yu's eyes followed her along as she escaped his sight, he was a bit worried, he had almost never seen Sylus in that kind of a condition. And he had also never seen anybody attempt to react with Sylus when he was in that kind of condition. Nex walked up behind Yu and Cara, wondering what the racket was all about. "Why are you guys up so early?" he reached up to rub the sand out of his eyes, yawning shortly after.
Sylus stood there unmoving for several minutes, his eyes were focused upon the cold steel in front of him. He felt another presence enter this room, Vienna had returned. Sylus's mind raced out of what he was going to do, so he simply sat there and didn't react for the longest time. Until she reached out to his ear. It calmed him just as before, it was exactly what he needed after how upset he became at himself and everyone around him. He didn't want to hurt Vienna, emotionaly or physically. He wanted to see her safe, just as he wanted for everyone else. But there always had to be something to keep him from that safety in his mind, and that thing that kept him away from safety also kept him from happiness. Sylus laid there for a few more minutes before finally speaking, he spoke in a voice of a man who seemed entirely broken, showing he was just as upset about this as her. "Vienna... Why me? Out of all the other people out in this crazy world... What made me stand out...?" He rolled over shortly after, his eyes now meeting with hers. It was at this time that he really did notice her appearance, he almost never noticed it at any other time. |
Cara nearly jumped a Nex came up behind him, grinning at her love in his still sleepy state. "Nothing you need to worry about, Nex." she said softly, not wanting to burden him with what was going on. That, and she was sure Vienna would kill her if she did. She simply grabbed his hand and held it after he rubbed the sand from his eyes.
Vienna continued to rub his ear, her gaze distant as her mind was elsewhere. She hadn't wished to face him after leaving like that. At his question, she removed her hand from his ear, her gaze going to him as he turned to look at her. His seemingly broken voice surprised her. How was he upset about this? It was his choice, whether it depressed the both of them or not. She agreed with Cara, this was cruel to them both, whether or not he felt as strongly towards her as she did him. Vienna let out a soft sigh, having to think about this. "Why do I care about you?" she asked, repeating his question. "I'm not entirely sure myself, I've never.. loved another, aside from family, before." she spoked honestly. "I do know that your different.. you do not treat me as a piece of meat, or try to 'score' as others have. You put off a rather intimidating front towards people, but when you open up.. you're a kind person. It may be because we are near opposites.. and I seek that other half in someone." her voice faded at that, her gaze leaving his. "It's not like I chose you.. Love's a bitch. She doesn't let you choose." |
Nex smiled and took her hand, looking at Yu for a moment. He smiled and nodded, "I am going off to bed... An old man like me should not be up at this hour." With that, he retired off into his own sleeping quarters. Nex squeezed Cara's hand, "Shall we head off to bed then?"
Sylus decided on pulling himself up, knowing that the cold of the floor was annoying the bare skin of his upper body. He listened to her words and nodded, understanding how love could be a bitch and how some things are unable to be answered. Sylus sighed, he decided this would be for the best. "Vienna, I care for you. That is the whole reason I blocked you off at first, I was just thinking back to the first time... I don't want that to happen to you too." Sylus reached out and put a hand on her shoulder. "My life is not just dangerous... Every day is a near-death experience for me... I feel you need explaining, but I need you to promise me something." His tone changed into a serious one, stressing how important this was to him, "You cannot so much as breathe a word of this I tell you. I do not want people to panic and I do not want people to see me as a failure..." He took a deep breath, beginning to tell his story. "I am hunting someone, someone who is very dangerous. Much more dangerous than the space pirates and the IAP could ever dream of being. He was the reason that I destroyed Earth a long time ago, he was the reason I became hated across many lands, and he is the very same reason that I was kept within a laboratory for the past 15 years of my life. His name is Genesis, he was a monster that was created back at earth before its chaotic times. After World War 3 some Chinese radicals from the terrorist group known as the Red Dragon got their hands on the information gathered on the human genome project and used it to attempt to create what they defined as a 'perfect human'. The result was GX764, and he was more power then they could ever fathom. The creature slaughtered all of the radicals which created them and then took their forms in order to sneak out of the laboratory unscathed. He then proceeded to push himself even further through the United States Government and drive it to the point of nuclear warfare, he took the face of a familiar political powerhouse... And then took control. I had caught him in the process of attempting to burn down what was left of the earth, realizing he was dangerous enough... i couldn't allow him to escape earth. So I caused earth to implode using a series of well placed charges... But unfortunately from what I have heard in recent reports... He did not die from the explosion. My belief is that he has taken the form of the IAP commander which is leading the operations here. I cannot allow him to leave this planet alive... For if he gains any more power... The universe could be pushed into an intergallactic war which could tear so many innocents apart..." Sylus told his elongated story, his head down by the end of it. "If you love me, I am afraid Genesis will find you and use you to his advantage... He has already tried it once. So I want you to know that if you really want to go through with this... This might be the biggest risk you have ever taken in your life..." He reached out to hold her hand, both out of comfort and from his own heart. "I want you to really think on this..." |
Cara smiled a nodded. "Yeah.. probably." She snuck one last peek around the corner at the two before heading back to her and Nex's room.
Vienna stayed quiet as he spoke, listening to every word very carefully, trying to understand this. She did get the main concept, though she had no clue who the 'Chinese' and the 'United States' were, since she had learned so little of Earth. This story had her in awe, the sheer power he spoke of from this... 'Genesis'. As he stopped speaking, her gaze went downward, wondering where this left her. After a few moments, when he spoke again, her gaze stayed focused upon the floor, in deep thought. She felt his hand on hers, and took no time in gently grabbing it, and holding it. She was silent for a quite a few minutes after this, her mind racing. To tell the truth.. she could care less about how big a risk this was for her, it just took her a while to process all of this. Slowly her gaze went from the floor to lock onto Sylus' eyes, staying there as she finally spoke. "I'm.. not sure how long you would like me to think on this.. but I have already reached my decision. No matter what amount of time given, it will not be changed. I do not care for how big of a risk it would be to me, nor the threat Genesis creates. If that is what comes from loving you, then I accept it with open arms.." |
Sylus allowed her all the time she needed, and when she had finally spoke her mind, Sylus was almost in a daze from the response. After the story he had told her of the major events on earth, of how his life was always full of terrible things, and of how he was always on this single mission to kill one man. She had still wanted to be with him, Sylus couldn't help but crack a small smile, something out of character for him yet again, but Vienna had changed everything for him. He was at a loss for words for a long time, but with those final words he realized someting himself. He finally decided to speak, and he had decided to speak from the heart. "I.... I think I have fallen quite hard for you..." Was all he said as the redness of his emotion appeared all over his face. Sylus had finally blushed.

Vienna wasn't sure what his reaction would be, and the daze he seemed to go into worried her for a moment. A moment. When he cracked a smile, she couldn't help but smile herself, a smile from him seemed to be a rare sight. She waited for him to respond, staying quiet and waiting, the smile making her a bit hopeful to his next words. His words made her feel quite speechless, a blush of her won spreading across her cheeks, the smile widening on her face. She looked away for a moment, embarrassed, before looking back at him, content with the way things turned out. Vienna's mood had done a complete turn over from her earlier depressed, heart broken state.

Sylus kept his eyes on her for a while, just sitting there and saying nothing. But finally he decided it would be best for him to get out of this dull cargo room. He stood up on his own two feet and pulled her along with him. Before they left however, Sylus decided to give her a simple gift. His arms wrapped around her as he pulled her close until the two of them were close together. He took a bit longer than he would have thought though, as the time with their embrace seemed to be much quicker. In the back of his mind he was thinking of giving her a kiss, yet he did not know if she would accept it or not despite the two admitting that they were in love. So he kept her in his arms, just holding her there with his eyes locked upon hers. Sylus felt his heart rate increase.

Vienna stayed quiet as the two sat there as well, thinking words as of now were unnecessary, and even if she did not feel that way, she would not know what to say at the moment. She felt herself being pulled up as he stood, standing up as well. He then did something that surprised her a bit, even after their talk; she was pulled into an embrace by him, one which she eagerly returned, her arms going around him as they stood there. Vienna, too, locked her gaze upon his, her heartbeat fluttering quite a bit as she did so. She was amazed at how safe she felt in his arms, despite knowing hat danger their love would bring her. For a moment, she could've sworn he had planned to kiss her, but he did not, and she was almost unsure of what to do. Instead of forcing a kiss upon him, she simply leaned in a bit closer to him, as if to test if she had been right or not.

Sylus was also at a loss for words, he was not naturally romantic, with his last love dying a long time ago, it would be odd to find him to be a romantic. However, he knew the basics of this and kept his eyes upon hers and his arms around her body.
[i don't know if I have described him in detail or not.... But I like to do that with my characters] Sylus was by no means a man who prided himself on his looks, his long black hair regularly hid his face which had a large scar just above his left eye. His face itself was rather handsome and fit well with the rest of his body. His body itself was very lean, it was evident that his body had been through several battles. Scars along it just as any other man of war would have, but if people were able to overlook the scars they would find a good looking individual. His legs were long along with the rest of his remotely large body. He was a tall person, he was not that large otherwise though. His eyes followed hers along as he felt their faces getting closer, he felt her breath escape upon him which caused his mind to be somewhat lost in this moment. He decided that the message was clear as he leaned his own head in for a slow and passionate kiss. Sylus wasted no time with one of those quick and nervous kisses, he went straight to the passionate kiss. He hoped she would enjoy this as much as he did. |

Vienna wasn't a person who cared much for her looks, though they did seem to give her much attention. Her hair was much like Cara's style wise, though longer, her chocolate brown hair was pin straight and reached her mid back, side bangs just barely covering one of her light blue eyes. Her face was averagely pretty, also fitting with her rather average body. She did have a few scars, none of which large or greatly noticeable, which simply came from various encounters with space pirates which happened quite often on her planet. Vienna's gaze stayed locked with his as the two grew closer, the light brushing of his breath on her skin causing a slight tingling feeling. She greeted the kiss with her own passion, enjoying greatly the slow kiss shared between them, glad he wasn't one to give a nervous, quick kiss, she wasn't a fan of them. Her arms stayed around him, not wanting to let him go for the moment. |

Sylus thought she looked beautiful up close, enjoying and taking in her appearance as he could. But in this current kiss he found his mind in another place of pure bliss, losing his balance almost in the process as she was now against the wall. Sylus was barely the dominating type, although it might appear that way as she was pressed gently against the wall. Sylus pulled away slowly from the kiss, gently licking at her lips as he did so. Sylus wondered if she preferred to be control in his own mind, the way she seemed to act around men suggested that. But he was not about to ask that question to her, he would have to experience it for himself. Sylus felt that there was only one right way to continue with this before he kept on loving her physically, "Vienna... I believe I have made the right decision... I.... I love you." |

Vienna's mind didn't think of much as the kiss continued, though up close... hell, even far away, Sylus was rather handsome. She didn't think much on this though, she did not care much for looks in a man, as she had just found out. Vienna was a bit surprised as the kiss continued, finding herself gently pressed against a wall, the steel rather cold to touch on the bare parts of her back. When he pulled away, she was a bit disappointed, she had been enjoying the kiss, but found herself smiling as he licked her lips, something she had not expected. As he spoke, she listened, looking up at him rather lovingly. "I believe you did as well.. I love you too, Sylus." she replied, a smile again lining her lips. |

Sylus slid his hands along the bare parts on her back, getting as much as he could with those two hands so they would not have to touch the cold steel. He returned her smile, knowing that as soon as they got back to the battlefield he would be his same old self. But as long as he was with Vienna his attitude would stay this way. Sylus didn't want this to end despite the fact that the two of them had already wasted most of the night away. Maybe just... a few more kisses. Sylus pressed his lips to hers yet again, the two of them now pressed even closer together. He then pulled away yet again, slowly and lingeringly."mmm.... Maybe we should find a better place to go.... I think there is an open room somewhere in this ship.... After all it would be kind of odd being caught like this... Not that I would mind." |

Vienna let out a slight shiver feeling his touch upon her bare back, enjoying it, and grateful for not having her back exposed to the rather cold steel. She knew that things wouldn't always be like this.. but she would enjoy it as long as possible. The night was nearly gone, but Vienna found herself rather awake after all that happened in the the short while she'd been in the cargo hold with him. At the next kiss, she again greeted it rather eagerly, but not overly so. She smiled at his suggestion, and nodded in agreement. She wouldn't mind being caught like this, but it might be somewhat awkward. Knowing they would have to let go, she unwrapped her arms from around him, only to find a hand of his, holding it within her own as they went to find a room. |
Sylus felt her shiver, enjoying it greatly as she shivered against him, he was not quite as sensitive because he never wore a shirt, however, touching certain sensitive areas would cause him to shiver just as she did.
As the two walked down the hallway hand in hand Sylus looked at the doors one by one. He took some time in doing so, as he sent himself within the room spiritually to see if there were any life forms. It did not take them long to fimd one. Sylus opened the door for her and walked in himself, locking the door behind them so people could not just barge in. Sylus was not tired himself, he just thought it would be best to find a warm room to be in. Sylus sat on the edge of the bed, still smiling after all that had went on tonight. |
