A warm smile spread onto Bellatrix's face. "He is.. he has made bad choices in his past... horrible, really. But he intends to make up for his mistakes with this.. helping his planet." Her eyes were still on the window when he next mentioned giving her temporary sight, her face lighting up a bit. This would mean a lot to her. "Thank you.." she said softly, before hand, knowing she may indeed not like or even notice what she saw apart from what she would see through his eyes. With one hand, she took his as he had told her to.
Cara watched her arm wide-eyed, not quite sure what to think herself. It took Vienna a moment before really reacting to this, her hand reaching out and grabbing Cara's wrist, turning her hand over. Normally on the back of her arm, the faint outline of veins would be visible, in the natural colors; blue and red. This was not what they would see.. Instead, the veins in that arm were of a pure black color, and the the joints all strained at Vienna's touch, a cry of pain coming from Cara as her wrist was grabbed. The blackness of her veins was quickly spreading, though, reaching her elbow, through her upper arm, and along with the odd coloring, more throbbing came. Vienna's eyes widened tremendously. "Oh God." were the only words that came from her as she firmly pulled Cara out of the hangar, out of the eyes of everyone else, and into the first room she found in the hallway. |
Ray nodded, "We have all made our mistakes in the past. Those mistakes only truly come into a true importance for the individual when they realize those mistakes and try to fix them. You are a good mother for him to turn out to be the savior of his own planet." His mind then went to the current topic as she reached out to hold his hand. She would suddenly feel a power in her as light and colors came into view. It might be confusing at first for a blind individual, but it would obviously be beautiful. She would also find that she had temporary control of his neck, allowing it to turn as she pleased. If she would look outside and see the stars, he would also notice Ray's face reflecting off of the glass. He still had the similar smile from before.
Nex's eyes locked on the blackness of her arm, he only repeated what Vienna said and chased after her, wondering exactly what Vienna was wondering. But along with that was a great deal of worry and hoping that everything would be alright in the end. Sylus simply speed walked after them and did nothing else. Wondering what was going on. |
Belllatrix only nodded in agreement before the sudden almost shocking change of view. She had had a good idea of what things looked like by the way of which she was able to 'see', but just by the colors of the interior of the ship.. the ease in seeing everything was breathtaking for her. Very slowly, she turned to look into the window, into space. As she had imagined, as she had heard.. it was nothing like actually seeing it in person. There was also a reflection that she was curious of, looking closer to see Ray's face. It was something like she had 'seen', but she found herself breath taking just by the view of it. Humans were so intricately designed.. Curiosity again led her eyes to her one body, again breath taken. She wasn't necessarily attractive, of course, but the way humans looked compared to what she saw them as through her way of 'sight' was amazing. She then began to wonder what her own son looked like, though she would not be so greedy as to ask that of Roy. She simply looked around the room for the remainder of the time, wondering when she would go back into her own line of sight.. her own body.
Needless to say, Cara was freaking out. "Via?! Via, what's going on?" Vienna had made her sit upon the bed in the bedroom she had ran into, and at the moment, Vienna was freaking out as well. "Don't.. don't move, alright!" The blackness of her veins steadily grew, running upwards now to meet her neck. Vienna had a knife out at this point, trying to determine what to do. At first, hand shaking, she was considering just cutting off her arm, but once it reached her throat, she threw the knife to the ground. "Damnit, Cara, hold still!" Cara was obedient to this, despite, the violent shaking coming from the right side of her body, her breath soon catching. She was choking. Vienna cursed under her breath at this, her eyes going to Sylus and Nex. Cara was soon unconscious, Vienna calming down the slightest bit. "I.. Is there any way we can communicate with the IAP? I ned to get ahold of someone.. Cara's been poisoned by someone and I'm gonna have to get contact with him fast." |

Ray himself did not pride himself in his looks, but he was not unattractive at all. He also saw Bellatrix in his own line of sight, finding his own eyes examining her as he saw along with her. Ray smiled, hearing her thoughts by now, after all it should have been obvious since they were connected. "And If you want to see your own son," Ray's mouth moved, "I'd be happy to do this again for you.... You may return whenever you like." Sylus and Nex looked at each other for a moment, they knew who did this, and Nex was ready to take some head. Pulling something that looked like a cell phone out of his pocket he put in a specific number combination that would allow him to contact the IAP. No response. "Urgh... No good.... The Comm Link is dead for some reason..." |

Bellatrix had to admit she was a bit startled that he had read her thoughts, nonetheless it made her very happy to hear. Thank you.. you have no clue how much this means to me.. However, I believe now would be a good time for me to return to my body. She had had her temporary sight, but it was nothing she would want to get too used to. after all, it was not her body, and she hardly knew this man, she should not be asking such things of him. Though, she had to admit, that reflection was... well, not unattractive at all to say the least. Cara's body didn't stop the shaking even in her unconscious state, Vienna feeling her forehead as her temperature rose, sweat beading along her forehead. Hearing this, her face fell for a moment, but she quickly regained her composure. "If one of you could fetch a damp washcloth, I would appreciate it.. I want to try something." Leaving the bed side, she went into her small bag that hung over her shoulder, rifling through it for a minute or so before producing a headset. There was a simple button on the side of it, which she pressed before putting the headset on. Vienna left the room, lowly talking into the headset, making it obvious that the conversation was private. Most of Cara's visible veins were now black in color, her breathing labored as she lay there, unconscious. |
Ray was awaiting her to talk, allowing her to look as much as she wanted. Don't worry, I enjoy helping people. It should be everyone's nature, but sadly that is not the case with most people. Ray pulled his hand away as she finally said that she should get back to her own body. She would find herself blind yet again, Ray only wished he knew the cure for blindness, but even today's level of technology had its limitations. "So, did you like what you saw?" He asked, referring to what she saw in space and not his reflection.
Nex did as she requested, entering the bathroom quickly and coming out with a wet washcloth. He placed it upon her head, pressing it there gently so it would help comfort her. Meanwhile his right hand reached out to her hand. "I don't want you to do.... Oh god.... Please don't die..." He whispered to himself, worry being the only thing on his mind. Sylus just watched, taking interest in the situation but hoping that she would get better soon. [we all make mistakes^^] |
Bellatrix only smiled as she went back to her body. She was blind again, yes, but seeing herself, and another human was a great experience for her. Never had she truly been able to see before. At his question, she nodded. "i'll assume you meant space? Yes.. Space is beautiful.. I.. everything was." she wasn't sure what to say again, so she merely looked towards Ray. "Again, thank you."
Cara's body would soon stop shaking after the washcloth was upon her head, but her breathing was still quite heavy and her temperature was steadily rising. Something odd also happened, her skin paling a bit, though rather quickly. Vienna came walking into the room about 5 minutes later, headpiece off again. "I contacted her father." was all she said, obviously not happy with the conversation that had gone on. |
Ray knew she was at a bit of a loss for words at this point, it was understandable. If you give the people who are blind the gift of sight for just a moment the most insignificant of things seemed so amazing to them. "You are welcome Bellatrix...." Jacobs spoke up, "Commander, we are scanning some odd activity going on upon the planet, the energy readings are off the charts... I assume this means that the Omnigate is being used currently." Ray sighed, pulling himself up from his seat and looking at the large screen with a bar that was growing and shrinking again. As it grew it glowed red, and as it shrunk again it went back to green. "Someone is really putting a strain on the machine, if he continues all he is going to accomplish is create a small biological mess on the planet.... I guess he really doesn't know how to use it. Or he just thinks he can keep on taking chances like this." The energy readings calmed down, "Hmmm.... Looks like he's stopped for now." He looked back at Bellatrix. "Do you know how long Genesis has been on your planet? I know you are one of the gifted... Maybe you felt a strange presence..."
Sylus looked at Vienna as she returned to the room, the conversation obviously not going well. "Something tells me the lizard doesn't like the idea of his daughter still being alive..." He crossed his arms and looked at Nex. Nex looked at Sylus, then at Vienna. "I swear I'll kill that bastard personally for what he has done... What did you get from the conversation? Anything...?" |
Bellatrix's smile stayed in place until Jacobs spoke. Her eyes widened a bit, hearing what Ray assumed Genesis was doing. She wasn't aware of the happenings off the screen, obviously not able to see the screen as she was able to see at least the place of other objects. This made her rather tense, only knowing what she could hear for the moment. Once it seems that Ray calmed, she also did. He had stopped. Her expression twisted into that of slight confusion. Why would Genesis be after something that he didn't know how to use? Her thoughts were interrupted, her eyes going to Ray again. "I do not know. He seemed to have hidden himself pretty well until this point.."
Vienna shook her head a little, not in response to Nex's question, just in slight disbelief. She used to work for this freak. "He.." She paused, her eyes going to Cara, as if just to check upon her for a moment, before looking back to Nex. "He said he has an antidote.. I've seen it before, too confirm that. I've seen such happen to someone else." she said softly, motioning towards Cara a little as she did. "He wants a pilot for his starship.. that was my old post, and he wants me to fill it again." she said this with no facial expression, no tone in her voice, something very out of character for her. Her eyes went down as she spoke again. "I intend to go meet up with him. Someone will have to come along, so they can bring the antidote back for Cara.." |
Ray sighed, "He has taken the form of the commander... So it could have been anytime between about 1 year to a few months. The IAP has been here for a while, the current commander has only been here for a few months. He could have been watching and waiting this whole time... Waiting for a distraction. That would explain his activity, and now that everyone is in one place if he finds out how to tap into its hidden powers then that could mean the end of mankind as we know it..." He sighed, sitting down yet again, this was all very stressful for him, but he felt he had to explain things. "Have you.... Do you want to hear what could happen... What the Omnigate's true powers are?"
Sylus's eyes widened at the request. "What!?" His tone changed from worry to anger as he looked at Vienna directly. "That lizard wants to trade an antidote for you.... Grah! Why doesn't he just get one of the IAP to do it.... They have enough pilots that could double as starship pilots. I... I don't want to lose you... I know that lizard will take you and I'll never see you again. I'll kill him! I'll kill him myself and take the antidote back... I'll..." Nex placed a hand on his shoulder, "I know its hard... Just calm down... We will find a way through this.... Somehow...." He looked back at Cara, "... How long will the poison take to kill?" |
Bellatrix looked fairly relaxed for her knowledge of the situation, though it didn't seem as high of knowledge of it as Ray seemed to have. It was a bit odd even to her as to why he was remaining calm, so she nodded at his question "Yes.. please."
Vienna set her chin in a rather stubborn position as she listened to the two of them. She'd done so since she was a kid, and she did so now Her eyes were still on the floor, but they slowly lifted to Cara's motionless body. "She's the only family I have left.. the only real family. I'm going regardless, Sylus. He will not kill me, that much I am sure of, and I'm not sure about you two, but I'm pretty sure a life is worth more than a forcefully given job. This man is smart, and the type of poison he injected into Cara, I will not go into detail, but he has control over it. He can quicken it, slow it, and the only way for this to work is to properly dispose of it with an antidote." She then got the courage to look at Sylus again. "It usually moves pretty fast.. a day was about the longest anyone had lasted, that I know of.. and they were rather strong. I need to go before then." |
Ray was naturally calm, through all of his life he was taught not to overreact in any situation. If that ever happened he knew that his emotions would get in the way of his real missions. "Well... I'm sure you have already heard the general legends of it being a place of new birth... Basically it contains all the collective DNA from the creatures from the original Crystellion Star System. Collectively our people gathered over 100 planets and about 300,000 different species, this includes ourselves. Originally we just gathered the information to have a massive learning database that might come in handy later, but it was constantly suggested by people in the Old Council that it be used to create a machine that would use that collected DNA to allow the repair of any abnormal DNA.... With this you could eliminate diseases and other deformations. We successfully created the machine and life flourished, there was little death and there was no war, the machine was open to all who wanted to use it. And that was the problem.... A rather intelligent being got their hands on the machine for a mere 20 minutes alone. He was able to unlock some sort of hidden power with the DNA... Using the DNA to create monsters and other creatures, the technique was never perfected, but it never overheated like Genesis is doing it right now. I don't know how the power was unlocked or that it even had the potential to do that... That is all I know. It was a machine of better health and it was turned into a machine of war. We should have never created something with that potential...."
Sylus still had anger in his eyes, thinking of the lizard man and while hoping he would die somehow. He didn't want to lose Vienna, but he had a point, he could not just let Cara die. Nex wouldn't want it, but he was at a loss for words. "I'll escort you then.... I'll return with the antidote so Cara might live... Then I will try my best to get you back.... I swear it." Sylus lifted his head and locked eyes with Vienna as he spoke his heart. He would be with her until the end... Until she lost her free will to this lizard. But what of Genesis? She was going to die in six days anyway by Genesis's wishes, Sylus wondered how the lizard would deal with that through his quiet depression. |
Bellatrix remained remotely calm through out the explanation of this, though it was quite different inside of her mind. She was rather scared for the fate of her planet, this was made somewhat obvious by the face she made in reaction, but she knew better than to be too panicky. "And what do you propose should be done about this?" she asked, her eyes set on Ray.
Vienna's faltering expression showed that she obviously wasn't too happy about this either. She was scared, more than anything, of being apart from Sylus and how her ex-comrades would react to her return. Not well, to say the least. Still, she kept her composure, only nodding solemnly before she spoke again. "I'd hope to leave within the next couple of hours... After she awaked things won't be going as smooth as they are at the moment." Not that things were gong 'smooth' at all, but she knew the stages of the sickness caused by this poison. The first; blackness of veins, throbbing, unconsciousness. The second was less prettier, and the third even less. Vienna, to say the least, would rather shoot herself in the foot than have to watch the rest of the stages again. At the thought of leaving, again, her expression betrayed her. Her expression was that of someone in a depression, and this showed greatly and plainly, despite her efforts. "Excuse me." she half mumbled, leaving the room to walk down the hallway. |
Ray thought to himself for a moment. "Well, our technology has its limitations.... and unfortunately at this point our tech has bitten us back. We would just emp it and cause it to short out and never work again, yet it is resistant to our own emp pulses. So we need to get near the Omnigate and disable it by entering this special code which will cause it to short out. Unfortunately we have to more than likely get through Genesis to do it... So it is going to be quite a challenge. We need a good distraction... Do you have any suggestions?"
Sylus followed her outside, allowing Nex to stay alone with Cara. If Cara would die, Nex wouldn't want to live... It was evident in the way he acted. But if Sylus allowed Vienna to slip away... What would happen to Sylus? Sylus walked out and stopped her before she got to far, clinging to her in a soft hug. "If we have to send you to this lizard man... I swear that I will come back to save you.... I swear it by my life...." He said, his arms tightly wound around her as they stood there. Sylus proceeded to do something he only seemed to ever do in front of Vienna, cry. |
Bellatrix let out a soft sigh. It went full circle, coming back to Genesis. Her expression went into that of deep thought after his question, not suite sure how to distract such a being. "Well.. If nothing else, I shall try myself. No guarantees I would last long, though." her voice showed no sign of emotion, just the hint that she was still thinking. Her husband had died long ago, so its not like there was anyone in her life that would really stop her; her son respecting her opinion too much to even attempt to do so.
Vienna had started to cry even before Sylus stepped into the hallways. What he said just worsened her mood, pushing her already low motivation towards going down. Eventually, she would turn to return the hug, burying her face into the side of her neck, not wanting for him to see her cry. |
Ray eyed her for a moment, he did not know the limitation of her strength, but he had to speak up. "No, no matter how strong you are.... I do not want you to risk your life to take on a being like genesis... I wasn't able to defeat him, Sylus is unable to defeat him, people from all over the galaxy with powers nowhere near ours are unable to defeat him. I don't want you to risk your life in any circumstance. Every life is precious, and that include yours." He paused, looking toward Jacobs, "Do we still have those recon droids sitting around, we might be able to distract Genesis with those for a short amount of time. However I have no idea how long they will last." Jacobs thought for a moment, "What about Sylus? He could be a wall... And there is no way Genesis would commit suicide, Sylus could just stand in the way and Genesis would be at a loss.... We only need a few seconds to enter the code anyway." Ray put a hand on his chin, "Very well... We have the droids and Sylus... The droids are disposable... Sylus is not.... But we might have no other choice."
Sylus now switched to words of encouragement, knowing that she would need it for this. "But I know.... You are a strong woman... Its one of the reasons I fell in love with you Vienna. I know you can fight through this, I know you can hold your own despite these difficult circumstances.... I know you can fight. Without you I would be back in the laboratories being tested on for the rest of my miserable life.... I owe you everything... It is your strength and devotion which saved me...." He placed a hand on her cheek and tilted it upward, "I know you can do this." He looked her directly in the eyes, intensity and sadness all in one expression. |
Bellatrix only nodded in agreement. She did not know of Genesis, though it was clear he was strong. She had simply offered in her form of help, but it was clear that they didn't want a life to wasted in trying to stop this.. creature. At least she assumed him to be a creature, the way they described him.
As he encouraged her, she did start to feel the slightest bit better.. the crying from her stopped, her eyes upon him as he put his hand to her cheek. Though the tears were gone, sadness was still prominent in her features. "I love you, Sylus.. I'll try to get back as soon as i am able to. However.. the poison inside of Cara.. it was caused by her own blood, by his blood. He can stop and restart this at his own will with her, if I am correct.. I cannot leave until Cara is cured and he is dead. At the same time, of course.." This, she rethought in her head a few times, before nodding once, as if agreeing to what she had just said. Her eyes stayed upon his for a moment before moving once again back towards the door. A cry of pain would be heard from the hallway as Cara slowly awakened, her body's fever immediately rising and a slight shaking starting from her body as she lay there, surprised and in obvious pain. Vienna's face fell, her expression again getting serious. "It's moving quicker than usual.. We should go before..." her face again fell a bit, obviously not wanting the outcome to happen. |
Ray sighed, looking to Jacobs for a moment, "Have our scans of the planet brought up anything else?" Jacobs brought up another screen, "The number of life forms on this planet has drastically increased, none of these lifeforms are humanoid... All of them are some creature hybrid. Meanwhile large amounts of humanoids have died.... I'm guessing this is the work of Genesis still...." Ray sighed, knowing that deploying the units would only result in mass deaths of his own men. He walked back toward Bellatrix, "This must be hard for you.... Is there anything I can do?"
"Yes..... We should go now...." Sylus said as he heard Cara's pain yet again, Nex was the only one in there, reassuring her that everything would be okay and he would be here with her no matter what happened.... Whatever happens I'll be here for you... I promise. All Sylus could think of was Vienna having to leave again, "Where is he.... Is he on the planet or his starship?" Sylus asked, wondering if they were boarding a ship or not. |
Bellatrix stayed her calm, quiet, self, face blank and staring off into space as she listened in. As she was approached by Ray, she shook her head slowly. "It is hard, yes, but I can handle myself just fine." She had done so for many years, and she would continue to do so.. Living on alone, taking perfect care of herself, and keeping her own emotions in check. This came easy to her for the most part.
"His starship." Vienna answered simply. She hadn't thought about it much until now, but if his starship was successfully in the air, a pilot wouldn't be necessary. This just ruined her mood further, now knowing that a job was not what she was going to go there for.. her old comrades were obviously looking for something else, something she considered to be vile and cruel. Revenge. Hesitating for a moment there, she slowly backed away from Sylus. "We can use my ship.. When returning you can just use the autopilot.." She didn't like the sound of that at all, him returning alone. But, that was something she would have to get over, knowing she would be dead in 6 days anyways. She began to walk down the hallway, again heading towards the hangar. Cara was highly confused, but didn't say anything or move, her body already too tired, her voice far too weak to make words. But she was able to make one as she opened her eyes. "Nex.." Her voice was raspy, the normal color of her skin gone as its paling not became more obvious, and the blackness of her veins starting to show more so. The shaking had stopped, her body now falling into more of a fatigue.. moving, just the slightest movement, hurt. |
Ray nodded, respecting her strength as he sat down yet again. He knew that soon enough that the Mavericks would be heading onto an assault of the North Pole... That was the word he had gotten from Cheng Yu. But he wondered how far Genesis's reach had spread on this planet, was he everywhere or just in a single area for now? Ray thought long and hard about this, knowing that he was going to join them in this fight along with his own men. They would drive the space pirates out of the planet for now and go on from there, however they decided to do things. He just sat there in silence, his mind heavy in thought.
Sylus frowned at the response, he really did not want to return to this ship alone... He wanted to stay there with her. Even if it meant suffering through great tortures, all Sylus really wanted was to stay there with her. Sylus followed her along to the hangar, his eyes going to the ship that belonged to her. Sylus thought of how this could be the last time he would ever get to see this ship, the thought was very depressing, and although Sylus seemed to be an expert at hiding his emotions, they were all pouring out right now. Sylus awaited her to enter the ship. Nex lacked a reaction for the first few moment, feeling awful for this 'trade' of sorts that Vienna decided to undergo. He knew that Cara would not take it well, so he decided not to say anything for now, only telling her what he felt in his heart. "Cara.... God I was worried for you.... But don't worry.... I'm right here beside you... I'll always be beside you..." He held her hand gently, caressing it as he spoke. |
Bellatrix did nothing to break this silence, her own mind elsewhere as they sat there.
Vienna looked at her ship for a good few seconds before opening the glass and hopping in, staying quiet as she again took a few seconds to look at her ship from the interior. She may never see it again, and that was another thing that depressed her. This was the product of hard labor to build, and then, to see it go.. This thought, no matter how depressing, she tried to drill into her mind in an attempt to block the deeper sadness within her. The sadness that came from being separated form Sylus. She smoother her hands over the dashboard once, now only waiting for Sylus to get in the ship. Cara was exhausted. he felt bad for his worry, though t=she was not sure why, despite her weakened state and the pain she felt.. what had happened? Closing her eyes for a moment, she thought back. The blue ships had come, they had won the battle... Vienna had taken her into this room... Vienna. |
[Ray continued to sit for all eternity until old age took him away.... Not really... But i'm ending this unless you have something interesting to add XD]
Sylus walked into the ship with her, looking at the interior one final time but saying nothing else about it. He knew it was a beautiful ship and she was proud of it, but to know that she would probably not see it again was depressing to him as well... He wanted to see Vienna happy, and this lizard was trying to tear them apart. His mind wandered back to the time when he was in the labs, maybe if he was there... He would feel better... He would only feel physical pain, he would be back to no longer having any emotions. A small piece of him ached for that now... But the rest of him ached for a way out.... Sylus took his seat, his eyes to the ground. "Just rest Cara..." Was all Nex said as he continued to think to Vienna and how she was giving herself up for this. Nex couldn't thank her enough... He knew if there was any way he could save her right now that he would do so with all of his being. That is if he even got the chance to do so. He only wished he had power over this... He felt entirely helpless... As was seen with the depression in his eyes and lining his expression. |
Vienna quietly waited for Sylus to get seated before closing the glass and fully turning on the ship. They eased out of the hangar, and out into space within seconds, renewed tears coming from Vienna as they did so. Yet, she stayed quiet. If Sylus could not see her tears, and could not hear them, he would not know. And she didn't want him to see her like this again. Instead of turning to him to receive contact, she reached her hand back towards him, meaning to grab his hand if he wished her to do so.
Cara, to the best of best of her abilities, got her fingers around his hand before resting. Just that had been tiring. Deciding to listen to Nex, but not entirely wanting to fall asleep, he closed her eyes and rested her body a bit. She felt as if all hell was going loose inside of her, and the effects on her energy were tremendous. |
Sylus felt complete emptiness at this point. He wanted so bad just to get up and hold her forever... Wanting the moment to never end when they got to that point. He rose his head, seeing tears in her eyes bringing tears to his own eyes. He watched her hand... Coming closer to his... He reached out with his own hand, would this be their final contact together...?
No.... A sudden jolt in Sylus's heart told him that this was not to be their final contact, Genesis... He sensed him near, his eyes scanning the ship for any signs, but the sign was right in front of him as a black essence of energy. Sylus was launched out of the ship, becoming temporarily transparent until he phased through the glass and all that was left but the constantly changing form of Genesis. Before anything he reassured her of one. "Relax... Sylus will not die today... Do you think I would be foolish enough to kill myself?" He paused, releasing a quiet laughter as he saw her extended hand, then looked back to the lizardman's starship which was coming into view. Genesis smiled a bit, "Drive..." He said, his cold voice echoing through the interior of the ship. Nex was not looking forward to explaining the whole Vienna situation to her... He knew that it might result in his head being ripped off for not trying to stop her. But he could explain as best as he could... And try his best to save her later. He made that promise to himself later, squeezing her hand gently as though he made the promise to her without any words. He tilted his head downward afterwords, giving her a gentle kiss upon the head and a quiet 'i love you' into her ear. |
Vienna almost panicked when she didn't find his hand, a small yelp coming from her as Sylus was ejected, eyes widening in fright as Genesis took his place. She calmed a bit, knowing that Sylus would not die, but that didn't answer all of her questions. Her only answer to his demand was to increase the ship's speed, now approaching and soon entering the lizard man's starship's hangar. He and some of his men were outside waiting for her. Vienna did not get out, only waited to see what Genesis would do, and if she would ever get her final contact with Sylus. That thought again brought tears, though she stayed quiet as she sat in her ship.
Cara was soon asleep, though her body did not seem to rest as she wished it would. Her fever was still rather high, and her breathing a bit raspy and she slept. |
