Relieved that they wouldn't have to blow open the door, Cara relaxed. She enjoyed the rather short flight, but understood his need to save fuel. She took Nex's hand to help her jump out, then looked around where they had landed. The middle of a forrest... She hadn't payed much attention to what direction they were heading in, and there were a large amount of forests on her planet. Needless to say, she wasn't exactly sure where they were. Not liking the idea of being lost, she found a tall rock and climbed onto it, looking over some of the trees. Cara quickly found the village they had come out of and mentally noted which direction it was in. Hopping off the rock, she turned to Nex. "So.. off to find your ship's parts?"
Nex was sure not to fly too far away from the village, hearing Cara's words he nodded slowly, "Knowing where they are and how fast that the mayor was able to sell some of my parts... It is only a matter of time before they are most likely melted down, we need to first head to the man who is within town, then we can head for the other people... See if one of them has my control room, so I will not have to travel 400 miles... The first stop is of course in town..." he paused, stretching at first he looked back to his fighter, He knew that her mind was buzzing with questions about his actions earlier on, a piece of him wanted her to ask those questions... Before the two had gone on the hunt for his ship together.
Cara glanced at the sheet of paper she has taken from the stolen file. No name.. but I have an address. She slight nodded, and started heading back towards the village. It wasn't far, but it would probably take a few minutes walking time. She knew there was little time for questions, but curiosity got the best of her. "Nex, what did you mean when you said you cared too much for me earlier? When you were yelling at the mayor?" Part of Cara wanted to stop so she could ask all of her questions, but she knew better than that. He was in a hurry, and she wasn't going to be one to slow him down. However, asking a couple questions on the way wouldn't hurt. She turned to hear his reply.
Nex heard her finally speak of it, he stopped himself, turning around to answer her question, "Well... I was simply telling the Mayor that you were more to me than just some random woman... When he requested a trade as though you were just a piece of property, that kind of hit a piece of me that really shouldn't have been brought forth, the piece of me that would defend you no matter what happens... Although I hope that what never happens..." he was serious in all of his words, his eyes down to hers now that the trip was temporarily interupted by this questioning. There was no question by now with the way that Nex stopped their walk that he was waiting for these questions. He looked for any chance he could to express his heart, in however situation it might be.
Cara felt her heart flutter a bit, and turned her gaze downward momentarily. Content with his answer, she decided there was at least one more she wanted... no, needed to ask before they went any further on their trip. "And... when you said you had all the woman in the world you would ever want...?" Her eyes slowly went back up to meet Nex's gaze. Her heart race had increased a little since the beginning of the conversation, and she knew her cheeks were darkening with a blush already.
Nex thought this one was obvious, but with the way things were going, she was just most likely wanting to hear it again, just to be sure she was not just imagining things. Humans were an adorable lot... And although his cold, and calm circuits replaced some of his being, he was still a human himself, he felt his own heart rate increase and the familiar beep from earlier began to resound between them, an indication that this was not just effecting her. "If you really want me to say it..." he smiled and looked her directly in the eyes, first outreaching with his human arm to hold her hand, caressing the top of it with her thumb. "It means out of all the woman in the world... I only want you... I only need you..." He smiled, saying nothing after that, another beep echoing forth from the speaker in his arm. A blush appeared on his face, he had nothing else to say. God.... Thank you for nobody watching us...
Cara was sure she already knew the answer, especially after last night, but hearing it again would be reassurance to her. And hearing those words come from him meant a lot to her. After hearing his words, she smiled, hearing the familiar beeps coming from his arm. God, how she loved hearing those beeps. A blush rose to her cheeks, and she returned his eye contact. Not entirely sure what to say again, she leaned closer to him, planting a gentle but meaningful kiss on his lips. She gently wrapped her fingers around his human hand that held hers, lacing their fingers together. Cara wanted to stay this way a bit longer, but she knew that Nex was eager to get ship ship back, especially with the threat of it being melted down. Pulling back from the kiss, she slowly began walking down the trail towards the village again.
Nex knew that she enjoyed the beeps escaping his arm when his heart rate increased, it wasn't anything romantic for him, but it allowed her to tell when his heart was racing, and it was obviously racing at this point. There were no more words needed as the two met in a loving kiss, Nex returned it with a smile upon his face, his hand intertwining with hers as she tightened the grip, something he loved doing with her was holding her hand, even though it was a small gesture, it still made his heart jump everytime he felt it.
He knew it was not to last long, but even when it was short it still meant a lot to him, he still had her hand within his as he walked into the village with her, following her along toward that address. "So... hmmm.... how far do we have left to walk Cara?" |
Cara looked at Nex, hearing his question. "It should be... this.. house..." She turned towards one of the smaller buildings on the street, quickly checking the address. The building was pretty run-down, and she double checked the address a couple of times. "This is it." She said somewhat confused. Why would such a poor-looking house want ship parts? Gently tightening her grip on Nex's hand, she walked up to the door, seeing something rather odd. What looked like a keypad replaced the door knob, and she glanced at Nex, confusion clear on her face. "Umm.. should we just knock..?"
Nex did not like the look of this house one bit, even from a distance without seeing the keypad he had an uneasy feeling about it. His eyes were in complete shock as he saw the keypad, he knew that this was not what it had to be on the outside, the keypad was much too advanced, and this town seemed stranger by the moment. "Well... Erm..." he paused for a moment, scratching the back of his head, "I was never one for stealthy approaches..." he attempted to turn the knob, if it was locked, he would knock on it, he was tempted to hack into the keypad, but a public hacking didn't seem to be the best option in this case. He might get some eyes, this village seemed a bit too advanced for its own good.
Much to Cara's surprise, the door was unlocked, and it opened when Nex turned the knob. She didn't like this place already, and seeing that no one came to the door made her even more uneasy. Looking at Nex, she took a step into the house. From the looks of things, it was deserted. The room they were in was completely empty, with no signs of human activity. It was dead silent, and Cara flinched when a floorboard squeaked underneath her. Looking around the room again, she shrugged. "Um. No one's home..?" The floor beneath her started to shift downwards into what looked like stairs going downwards. Cara, startled, quickly caught her balance on one of the stairs, then looked towards Nex again.
Nex guessed that there was more to this place than he expected, yet the keypad on the outside seemed to indicate that this building had some hold of power upon these people, because people passed by it every day and did nothing to investigate, he guessed it was a well known organization that used power and fear to its advantage. "Keep your eyes open, I'll take the lead." he said as he was the first to walk down the stairs. He knew that this was most likely a space pirate facility, he did not know what tech level this facility was exactly, but it did not matter, at any level if it was owned by a space pirate it was considered deadly. Nex kept his eyes open, it was dark as they went deeper, Nex had his built in night vision on before letting it get too dark.
Letting Nex take the lead, Cara followed him down the staircase. As it got darker, she had to use her feet to feel out the stair to make sure she didn't trip. It was hard to see for her, but she could still faintly make out Nex's outline in the dark. The stairs broke out and leveled out about 2 regular stories down, and there was a pair of metal double doors, also with a keypad. This one looked a bit different from the other, but Cara had seen it couple times before. The keypad had a monitor above it, usually used to verify who was going in by scanning their eyes or hands. By the look of this one, it was probably hands. Turning to face Nex, she motioned towards the keypad. "How opposed are you to hacking into it?"
Nex groaned, "I was never good at hacking face scanners.... you need an actual dna sample of someone who works here!" Nex turned, seeing a man walk down the staircase to obviously enter his dna signature, this was way too convenient. He grabbed the man by the legs in the darkness and smashed him up against the metal doors, knocking him out right there. He then hauled him upward and pressed his hands against the scanner. The scanner beeped in response and the double doors slowly slid open, he walked in casually, if he needed a way out he would simply punch open the double doors, "Coming Cara?" he said, casually leaving the body propped up in a sitting position against the wall.
Cara quietly watched Nex open the doors with the unconscious guy, then quickly followed him in. "Yeah.." The room they were now in was lit up nicely, so she could now see. They were n what looked like a balcony overlooking a garage. It was a lot like the mayor's except this one had men working on their ships, gambling, they even had a bar in one corner. The garage door let out upwards, seeing as they were fully underground. Spare parts were laying all over the garage, and Cara really had no clue what was what. "Um. See anything familiar, Nex?" She looked over piece of paper, seeing if it said what they had bought. Booster? Is that a part...? Glancing at Nex, she furrowed her eyebrows. She didn't know ship parts, so she wasn't sure how to say it. "Boost..ers?"
Boosters... He looked about the room for the rockets which caused his ship to move forth across space, he spotted nothing right now... Only pieces of what could or could not be part of his boosters. He looked for a bit until finally he had caught hold of the blue rockets that seemed in tact here, they were massive, almost filling up the entirety of that section of this underground garage. "These space bastards will think twice before messing with the Nexius...." he muttered to himself, then turning to Cara he placed a hand on her shoulder. "Stay here... Watch my back... I have an idea..."
Nex took it upon himself to use his mind and stealth his way to the other side where his boosters were, they looked to be full of fuel, so this was the perfect situation for what he had planned. he began to sneak to the other side slowly, being sure to avoid any wandering eyes... |
Cara frowned, thinking about what boosters might be. She obviously never worked with ships before, she she wouldn't know, but she was curious. She nodded when Nex told her to stay, and watched him sneak over to what looked like rockets. Are those are boosters? Raising an eyebrow, she watched Nex carefully, trying to figure out what his plan was. Looking around, she made sure no one had seen him or her. Seeing a female space pirate at the bar, she frowned again. The leather suit she had on was much more form fitting, and showed her skin along her stomach. Grumbling, Cara remembered the belt he had given her. Smiling to herself, she quickly stepped into a corner, changing her outfit to match hers. She looked down, admiring the fit, then went back to keeping guard.
Nex looked up at her, seeing a light for a few seconds, the form fitting suit becoming even more form fitting, he attempted to not let it distract him, as he had a mission to do, but he was sure to put a comment about it when he returned.
When he reached the rocket he jumped atop it quickly, leaving no signs of his stealthy walk through the garage, his eyes went left, and then went right, making sure that nobody was in the way. Then he began to draw attention to himself. "Hey you space assholes!" The entirety of the room tilted their heads upward to Nex's position. "This is what you get for stealing my rocket!" he reached downward toward the massive, blue hunk of metal and started the rocket right there with his palm. The rocket reacted, breaking all that was holding it down and steadying it and causing it to burst forth, but there was something missing.... One of the wings jutting from one end, the rocket spun around in reaction to its lack of control and began to bowl over every space pirate it could in its path, most of them escaped, running frantically for any escape as they did anything they could to not get flattened. "Give up yet you thieves!?" it looked incredibly stupid to see a man riding a rocket chasing a bunch of other men and women around. |
[im sorry but that should be a sport XD extreme rocket riding]
Adjusting her suit, Cara watched Nex set off the rocket. Biting back a laugh, she watched him chasing around the space pirates. When she realized she was standing by the only exit, she nearly freaked out. Acting casual, she watched the others flood through the door. Smiling to herself, she let out a small sigh of relief. They hadn't noticed the difference like she thought they would've. Watching Nex for a second more, she wished he wouldn't be so rash. He's gonna get hurt one of these days.. Sighing, she made her way down the stairs as everyone exited from the man who was extreme rocket riding around the garage. |
[hmmm.... Actually I would like to see it in the Olympics.... Would be an interesting event ]
Nex stopped the rocket entirely as the pirates left the room in a hurry, he had gotten back his rockets, step one of many a step to come, but at least he knew his rockets were back within his grasp. He looked around, he had created quite a mess, there was once a workplace, but as was Nex's specialty, he proceeded to ruin things for everyone else. He jumped down from his massive rocket and looked at Cara, "I think I deserve 10 points for that one... And you..." he looked her up and down, "I see you changed your suit... Its a bit more...." Nex blushed a bit, "... revealing...." and I thought the previous one was revealing. Nex attempted to push back the rest of his blush, but it was shown as well as Nex's blunt thoughts, "God your beautiful..." Nex looked as though his jaw was fit to drop to the floor for a moment, but he shook his head, "Sorry.... It happened again..." Nex repressed his perverted mind for the moment. Now wasn't really the time for this. |
[Yep..]
Cara felt herself smile, looking at the pirates' ruined workplace. Her smile only widened a bit more after his next comment, and a blush rose to her cheeks again. "Thank you... it probably looked better on the other girl.. And it's okay.. I don't mind." Noticing that they were still in space pirates' territory, even if Nex had run them out, she realized this wasn't the best place to be standing around in. Regaining the normal color in her cheeks, she looked around the garage. "So." She looked at the rockets, then up at the garage door. "Where should we put those and how exactly should we get 'em there?" |
"Hmmm... Somehow I doubt it... I think it looks amazing on you..." he decided at this moment that it would be best to change the subject. Crossing his arms he turned and looked at the massive rocket, the many options that he had for getting this thing out of this pit flew through his mind, but one came to his mind quickly more than any other, minus the fact that they could bust out of her rocket-cowboy style, but he didn't think that destroying the city along the way would be too kind to the good folks who live around here, even though this town did seem a bit space-pirate heavy and it would most likely benefit the whole planet if this hole was bashed into the ground. But Nex was a nice guy, "Look for a switch... If they had plans of moving these rockets out they would have to have an opening roof..." he looked around the walls for a switch, a button, anything that could open the ceiling.
Cara was happy he liked the outfit, but she forced that thought out of her mind for now. "Okay.. Well, I don't see a button, how about a lever?" Without waiting for him to answer, she pulled a lever on a nearby wall, and the ceiling folded upwards, revealing the sky. After being underground for a while, seeing the sky was nice. Looking around the garage for something to lift them out with, she thought for a moment, realizing that she wouldn't know what they needed to be lifted up by. "Umm. What next?" Turning to Nex, she waited for him to answer or do something.
"Yeah... That will work..." Nex tilted his head upward, seeing the sky finally show itself as the metal ceiling folded outward, he smiled. "Good... And I'll show you what I'm gonna do..." The rockets did not seem to take any damage, which was good, because he might have some issues if they could not take off. He jumped atop the rocket again and found the same area that activated it, after punching in a few commands the rocket began to react, he jumped off of it and moved onto a second one, he only had two, he needed both in order to be sure that the ship would not spin out of control.
The rocket beeped loudly in response, two large arm-like attatchments escaping out of its sides, the arms used their amazing strength to push themselves upward into a standing position. The arms then used the terrain to their advantage and pulled themselves out of the metal garage one by one. They began walking in the direction of the fighter, a mechanical whirr resounding out every time they lifted their leg. "There.... That should put them where i can use them..." |
Cara stared in awe at the rockets moving on their own. That's insane... Adjusting her suit again, she looked at the paper with the parts and locations on it. "Looks like the next one's in a different town.. Should we start on our way there?" She hadn't thought about it until now, but god, was Cara hungry. The only thing she'd eaten in the past two days was that slice of cake, and her body was fatiguing to show it. However, not wanting to slow Nex down, she pushed that thought back, trying to remember how to get to the town the next part was in.
