Victoria was a little surprised when Izelle bowed, even if it was only a slight one. She then nodded once, accepting what seemed to be her form of apology. She wouldn't say anything aobut it aloud, just in case Nicholas hadn't seen the face she had given them.
Nicolas noticed Victoria pause and look back up the stairs, but shrugged it off. He need not worry right now.
They reached the ground floor and walked out into a dining hall that was busying itself with the breakfast meal. Nicolas concentrated his thoughts on the magic that surrounded him and brought forth a bottle of what seemed to be red wine. It placed itself on the table. "Hungry?" he asked, waving towards the wine. |
Victoria looked around the room in awe. She was a bit surprised when a bottle of what looked like red wine appeared. "Uhh.. Yeah." she said, smiling. She then wondered why he'd asked if she was hungry and motioned towards wine..
Nicolas picked of a wine glass and filled it with the red liquid. A sharp, metallic smell filled the air as he passed it to Victoria. "It won't taste as...." he paused, thinking of the word "..sharp as the real thing." he said, pouring a glass of real wine for himself.
Victoria was confused. Sharp? Sharp as what? The metallic smell that it gave off was a little weird.. and she was starting to think it wasn't wine at all. Shrugging it off, she put her glass to her lips, taking a small sip.
Nicolas watched. He hoped this was alright. He began to remember the guests at his party, a few of them had requested this wine. Well, it was not really wine. It was blood mixed with a few trace amounts of wine. Nicolas had never tried any himself, the sent was a little much for him. But hopefully, Victoria would like it.
Victoria blinked in surprise.. It wasn't just blood, it seemed like there was something else in it.. wine? Victoria smiled, looking at Nicholas. "Thank you.. And, what is this? It's... good." The smell was a little different to her.. it didn't smell all too pleasant, but it tasted good enough.
Nicolas smiled. Victoira liked it. "It's called blood wine. Simple and strait forward. I'm not too sure of the type of blood in it, but wine is the secondary ingredient." he explained, sipping at his wine.
Victoria nodded, smiling. She didn't need to ask what blood type it was, she knew from the taste. She sipped it a bit more, leaning against a wall.
Once Izelle was alone in the hall, she took one of her favorite forms. She was a black cat with luminous green eyes. She snuck into the room on silent paws where Victoria and Nicholas were drink a red liquid that smelled like a battlefield after the war, blood laced with earthier traces; it pierced her sharp nose like needles.
Victoria spotted a black cat walking into the room, and smiled. Same blood type as Izelle's, and she doubted Izelle was fully human. She watched as the sharp smell reached her and frowned a little. Victoria would have to go brush her teeth after this.
When Nicolas didn't seem to hear her, Alia followed them into a room. She wondered where the other girl had gone, as she was no longer next to Alia, but didn't give it to much thought. "Hello Nicolas, will you please show me the way out now?" The two seemed to be drinking wine. "Can I have some?" She asked then, it had been a long time since she'd had alcohol.

Spring nipped at Sephelia's heels as she stood in front of the castle doors contemplating her next move. Her season was just about over, and she usually went up to the north to reside until the next year. But through her travels this year she had heard some interesting stories about the castle in front of her. Always draped in darkness it was said, cold, bleak and inescapable came the whispers. This was when her curiosity came in, it seemed like an excellent way to pass the time. On the other hand, going for a nap didn't seem too bad. Looking down at her feet, Valentine, her beautiful white wolf lay patiently for her decision. "What should I do?" she mumbled aloud.
Thinking over it once more, she came to a decision. Besides, for all the rumours about its inescapability, she knew that no enchantment in the world could hold back a season, much less winter's fury. Confident that this year would be just a little more fun, she raised her hand to rap sharply on the door three times. |
Sitting down against the wall, Alia noticed a black cat. She had always like cats, so Alia reached out to pet him or her, as she didn't know if the cat was male or female. "So?" She promted Nicolas, getting a little impatient, and seriously craving some wine.
Victora heard a knock at the door, then looked between Nicholas and Alia. It seemed that niether of them was going to answer the door, but she didn't want to seem rude and not answer it. "Um.. I'll go get that." she said setting down her glass of blood wine. She went to the door, opening it slowly, and looking out to see who was there. "Hello?"
A cold wind blasted through the door as Victoria opened the door, Sephelia stood with a slight smile on her face. "Hello, there. I've been travelling for awhile and would like to rest here. Do you know who I should ask for lodgings?" Valentine, the white wolf, looked behind the girl curiously and yawned. It seemed like Sephelia already knew the castle did not belong to the girl, but was asking to be polite.
Victoria nodded, opening the door wider for them to come in. She was a little chilled now, due to the blast of cold air coming into the room from outside. "You should talk to nicholas, he's in the next room." she said, smiling politely. Victoria was a little surprised that she knew not to ask her for lodgings, but easily pushed that thought aside, leading the girl and the wolf into the room were Alia and Nicholas were.
