Midna giggled and blushed slightly, flattered by Sard's compliment, Link smiled, "thank you Sard, Midna and I won't let you down tonight, promise" they watched Sard attend to Adelynn, but when Euphoria stepped up, he looked at her. Her beauty kept making him blush and he grew shy, "hello" he said hesitantly, but he regained his confidence and smiled, "its an old instrument, dating back to my childhood." He reached into his item bag and pulled out a crystal blue Ocarina, it had a metal ring around its spout and a yellow Triforce mark inside the ring, it seemed to left off a magical feeling. "It means a lot to me, so I shall play it tonight for everyone to enjoy, I hope you like it" he gently held her hand within his left hand and kissed it.
He smiled confidently at Euphoria and activated the Triforce, the power he gave her seemed to make her ankle turn to normal, she could walk without a limp again, "come now Midna, its time for some more practice" he headed off to the stage, Midna followed closely behind him. "Well well, aren't you a gentleman?" She said, giggling afterwards, he looked at her in the corner of his eye and smiled, "I did it to help heal her ankle, Midna" he looked away, trying to not blush. Midna just giggled, she knew Link was trying to hide the fact he did that for more than just healing her, but once they reached the stage, she sat down at the piano and began to practice. Link sat down on a stool, one leg over the other, and he started to test his notes, then began to play some small tunes that just pop into his head. |
Euphoria giggled and grinned when Link blushed and acted shy for a moment. How sweeet! The woman was stunned by how small and sweet the instrument looked. When Link kissed her hand it was her turn to blush, and somehow, her ankle stopped hurting her. "Ooh, it's beautiful. And what a pleasure to meet you, Link." Her voice was soft, and slightly confused, as she rotated her ankle and tested her weight on it.
Following Link over to the stage, she sat down in front of it and watched him play, her eyes closing and a soft smile spreading over her lips. Euphoria slowly sipped her wine and enjoyed the music. Between the tunes, she'd comment, murmuring something like, "That's so beautiful.." Or "ahh, so nice.." Music was pure bliss to her. Once in awhile, she'd even softly sing along, her voice soft, high, and sweet; just soft tones and notes, no intelligable words spoken. |
Sardonis smiled down at Adelynn and then went into the kitchen. He returned shortly afterward with a large salad with shredded cheese on top. He place it before her and took a fork from a holder by the bar. He offered it to her and spoke softly, "Please enjoy." He then busied himself with cleaning the bar. He gathered plates and mugs and took them to the kitchen. He set them in the sink and sighed.
Kane looked up from where he was kneeling, setting the fish fillets in the oven, "Something the matter, Sard?" Sardonis shook his head and smiled kindly at his friend. Although they had only known each other for a few weeks, it seemed like ages, "No... just busy." Kane smiled weakly as he stood and put an arm around the satyr's shoulders, "I hear ye." Sardonis laughed and pushed the pirate's arm away, "Why don't you come spend some time at the bar?" Kane grinned and looked at the oven, "I will as soon as dinner's ready." Sard nodded and went back into the common room and smiled down at Jaigo who had just finished his dragon. The boy set it on the bar and blew the dust from its scales. "Nice work, Jaigo!" Sard smiled and lifted the little wooden dragon and set it on a display above the bar. Jaigo beamed and then went over to the stage to watch Link practice. Sard smiled sadly at the stage and then at his reflection in the bar, it was getting too similar to the old days tonight, and as soon as Kane came out and started acting as his usual self, Sard knew he would break down and cry... |
Adelynn took the fork with a quick "thank you" and a blush. Then, she dug into the salad, watching Sardonis clean. All seemed fine until she noticed that Sardonis was making a face that would make anyone worry. She set her fork in her plate and stood, following him apprehensively. The tapped him on the arm with the very tip of her glove. "Um..." she started, but found that the rest of her sentence was caught in her throat. To finish, she had to push herself to say it. It felt intrusive, but maybe that was just something to get used to when wanting to start a conversation. "Are you alright?" she managed to pipe before quickly covering her mouth. |
Sardonis turned and looked down at Adelynn, smiling, "I'm fine." He forced a laugh and then turned, taking her hands in his, "Thank you very much for your concern, but please, put your worries for me aside and enjoy your meal." He released her hands and walked around the bar, taking a stool close to the stage. He crossed one leg over the other and pet the fur at his ankles absently as he watched the patrons of the bar.

As Link and Midna practiced, they seemed to be in their own little world, absorbed into the music itself, eventually they ended playing this song. With the power of Link's ocarina, it was as if you could hear the sound of nature around you as you listened to them both play, such a soothing melody, but once they had finished, Link put down the ocarina for a few seconds. He had memories of his journey come back to him, it made him homesick, he looked up at Euphoria and frowned, "I'm sorry, but I must take a break till tonight, I don't want to spoil any other songs." He smiled weakly and stood up, placing the ocarina on his stool, then he walked away, trying to not look upset, he sat down at the bar, head resting upon his folded arms on the counter.
Midna had turned around and saw Link in his state, feeling worried for him, she tried to think of something to cheer him up, she snapped her fingers and smiled, she had an idea. She turned back toward the keys and cracked her knuckles to warm up her hands, then she began to play a song about him. She hoped it would work, to revive his confident and brave attitude from earlier, it did a little, he smiled and turned his head to watch her play. He sighed though and frowned once more, turning his head away, "so many memories... I miss Hyrule so much, I wish to know how Zelda is" he thought to himself, almost shedding a tear. |
Jaigo looked at Link and then at his own feet, it seemed everyone was in a bad mood. As he listened to Midna play he thought about his own feelings. He tried to convince himself that it didn't really matter that his friends were gone and he was never going to see them again. He smiled sadly and stood, walking over to Link, he took the seat next to him and set his head on the bar, level with the other's, "Whatever it is.... it's not important. Nothing really matters if it's from the past... what matters is the present. You can't bring anything back, but you can always make new stuff go away..." Jaigo broke off and sat up, "I have no idea what I am trying to say, but I think the short answer is-- 'there is nothing you can do, so...'" he broke off again.
"I give up..." said Jaigo, and he stood and walked back to his previous seat. |
Euphora abruptly stood and walked to the bar after Link. She stood to the side of him a bit and softly rested her hands on his shoulders, applying gentle pressure. Shaking her hair out of her face, the woman slowly kneaded at his shoulders and murmured with great concern, "Are you alright? I can tell something's wrong..." She trailed off, concentrating on listening to his reply or kneading at his tense muscles.

He listened to Jaigo speak, a bit confused by what he was trying to tell him, he smiled a little though, "I understand Jaigo... thank you" he said weakly, still a bit upset. He had his eyes closed and his face buried in his arms, but when Euphoria put her hands upon his shoulders, he lifted his head up slowly and opened his eyes. "Oh, I'm just a little homesick is all... had memories of my past come back to haunt me all of a sudden, but I'll feel better by tonight..." he placed his right hand upon hers. "Thank you for your concern, I appreciate it a lot, as well as from Jaigo and Midna" he had a calm look and a smile on his face, he felt better already.
"Excuse me" he said to Sard, trying to get his attention, "may I get some water please? I'm a bit parched" he sat up straight now and turned his head toward Euphoria, giving her a kind smile. Midna had turned back around, happy to see Link in good spirits once more, she stood up and gently picked up his ocarina. She walked back over and sat down on the stool next to him, opposite of the way Euphoria was standing, "I'll have some water too please, dear" she said to Sard. "Also, we've been here all day and don't even know your names" she said to Sard and Euphoria, "perhaps its best to know them now that we're all here." She smiled, Link smiled at her as well, Midna placed her hand upon his and he grew a bit surprised, Midna lifted his hand, turned it over and placed the ocarina into his palm. "You best keep it with you at all times, Link" she smiled gently, letting his hand go, he looked at it in his hand, then back up at Midna and smiled, "thank you, also it seems Midna has already introduced me." He chuckled lightly, placing the ocarina on the counter. |
Euphoria sighed and shifted her hands to rub at his neck with her thumbs. "Mm, I know that feeling all too well. The wine helps, though, ahahaha." Even her chuckle was melodic, slightly moreso than her pure, clear voice. The woman's fingertips began to lightly sparkle and glow as she firmly massaged Link's shoulders and neck, generating a cozy warmth that should slowly work it's way through his body.
Smiling at Midna when she came over, Euphoria said to her, "Your playing is superb, miss Midna." She inclined her head in the girl's direction in aknowledgement and respect of her talent. After Midna asked her question, Euphoria replied quietly with, "I go by many, but I think Euphoria would be the best for here. Turning over a new leaf should start happily, no?" She chuckled quiertly again. |
Sard set two mugs of water before his guests and smiled kindly before bowing very low and standing, looking at Midna, "I am Sardonis, you may call me Sard, and that is Jaigo..." He pointed at the boy sulking in the corner, "and our chef is Kane."
As if saying his name summoned him, Kane burst through the kitchen doors, arms full of dinner plates with fish fillets and other sides upon them. He grinned his pirate's grin and set a plate down before each guest, "Dinner is served." Kane finished setting plates about the bar and then jumped from the bar to the stage, gracefully. Despite his size, his landing was almost silent, "You have Link to thank for the fish." He motioned to the man at the bar and then exited the stage. He made his way to Sardonis and put his arm around the satyr's shoulders, "You too... eat up." Sard smiled and pushed the cat-like man away from him, "I will later." Kane grinned and took a seat at the bar and ate from the plate before him. |

Midna closed his eyes and put her hand over her heart, "Sardonis, Euphoria, such beautiful names you all have, its so nice to meet you" she smiled sweetly and sat normally, eyes open. "I feel the same way as you Midna, I have a feeling we'll all be good friends" he looked over at Jaigo, a bit concerned about him, however, he looked over at Kane when he entered the room with dinner. "Thank you Kane" both Midna and Link said, but Link looked away a bit in sadness and worry for Jaigo, he tried to eat, but he just couldn't, still too worried. He pushed himself away from the counter a little and stood up, walking over to Jaigo's side, putting his hand on his shoulder, "Jaigo, aren't you hungry as well?"
He patted his back gently and smiled, "come on, join us, I'm not eating till you do" Midna watched curiously at Link's attempt to get Jaigo to eat, she kept herself from eating as well to be considerate. |
Euphoria sat on the stool on the other side of Link's and looked at the plate in front of her. The fish smelled incredible, and look absolutely delicious. Keeping with the spirit though, she didn't yet touch her food. The woman looked over at Jaigo and said, "C'mon, pal. You deserve a good meal." Euphoria slowly took another drink of the lovely red wine from her porcelain wine glass, savouring the seductive, fruity flavour.

Kane watched as everyone tried to console Jaigo while eating his own meal. He looked down the bar at the boy and grinned, "Let the boy be... he'll eat when he wants to."
Jaigo smiled at Kane and looked up to Euphoria and Link, "I'm fine... I am going to eat and have no idea where you got this idea that I wouldn't." He smiled and took one of the plates and began to eat. Sard took a seat next to Adelynn and began to eat as well. Kane finished his food and took his plate to the back. He returned with a lute and took the stool on the stage and began to pluck out a beautiful tune. He smiled as he played, it had been a long while since he was last on this stage. Sard grinned and watched Kane, forgetting that the former pirate had any musical talent. |

Sard smiled, looking much more relaxed. He finished his plate and put his elbow on the bar, resting his chin on his fist. He looked at Adelynn, "Kane's music is lovely, isn't it... I forgot he could play as well as he does. He used to play back when the old founders of the bar were around, but since they left, all of us have been too busy." He hummed along, smiling pleasantly.

Link and Midna ate their dinner and listened to Kane play his beautiful music, Link thought in his mind that perhaps they could help out Kane improve his show even further, so he ate rather quickly. Once he was finished he wiped his face with his napkin and drank the last of his water, he then picked up his ocarina and headed off toward the stage, Midna had finished her meal and wiped her face, she quickly followed Link. "Hey Kane, would you like some help, friend?" Link asked, holding the ocarina out in front of him, he smiled kindly and waited for an answer. Midna stayed behind Link, her hands on his shoulders and she poked her head over his right shoulder, she smiled seductively at Kane, it seems she was starting to like him.

Kane grinned as he finished his tune and rested the lute on his lap, "Sure, I'd appreciate a little company on stage. Kane and I used to play fer the inn every night... a'course I used to sing, but I think you folks might not enjoy that as much, eh Jaigo?"
Jaigo looked up from his plate and laughed heartily, "Oh GODS, Kane, please don't sing, anything but that!" Sard laughed and smiled kindly to Adelynn before standing and gathering the abandoned plates. When he had them all he disappeared into the kitchen, emerging some time later and resuming his place next to Adelynn. |
Adelynn listened to the conversation, and chuckled lightly. "They seem quite lovely, don't they?" she said, now more comfortable in the setting. This environment was definitely more relaxing than the wild, where she had to be very aware of her surroundings in order to keep from getting injured. Inside the tavern, she could forget about certain details and still be very safe. Comfortable enough to start a different conversation perhaps? "How long have you been here?" she asked, genuinely curious. |
Link and Midna laughed along with Jaigo and Sard, once they caught their breath, Midna walked over and sat down at the piano while Link grabbed a stool and sat by Kane. He held the ocarina to his lips and smiled, looking over at Midna, who looked back at him over her shoulder and smiled, ready to play. They soon began to play this song, their job of being the entertainment began, the magic from Link's ocarina set the mood. Despite there not being the proper instruments, its as if you could hear the violins and cellos in the background playing along, thanks to the ocarina.
Once the song was done, the people still at their tables after dinner clapped, along with others standing around and watching, Link smiled and put the ocarina away for a bit. "Hey Midna, perhaps its time to break out the old gift?" Said Link, who then pulled out a tiny violin and bow, it then grew to normal size in his hand and he grabbed a hold of it, he held onto the stick bow in his opposite hand. It was a gift from an old friend, he could remember that special day, the Deku Ceremony. He got so caught up in his memory that he actually played the song from the ceremony, which made Midna watch him in surprise and amazement. She clapped her hands and giggled when he finished, as well as some other patrons of the inn, "oh Link, where did you get such talent?" Link blushed and chuckled a little. She stood up and snapped her fingers, a pure black violin with red strings, as well as a matching bow, appeared within her hands. She walked over to Kane, "have you played a violin before, Kane?" Midna asked him, handing him the violin and bow. |
Kane took the bow carefully and looked it over, "Aye. I've played one before, although I doubt ye could still call it a violin in my hands." He set it on his shoulder and grinned, "In the hands of Kane it become a fiddle." He smiled and stomped his paw a few times before playing out a fun little tune that made some of the patrons get up and dance among the tables. He smiled as he played, obviously enjoying himself, "Feel free to play if ye know this one, friends!"
Sard stood as the song was playing and held his hand out to Adelynn. He hoped she would at least attempt a dance with him instead of denying him his request. He smiled at her, awaiting her hand. Jaigo grinned and clapped along to the song, although he was strongly reminded of his old friends and dancing with a woman that may have well have been his mother, he wasn't saddened. The atmosphere was just simply too uplifted to allow any of his negative feelings in. |
Link and Midna knew, Midna snapped her fingers and another violin and bow, like Kane's appeared in her hands, she grabbed another stool and sat on Kane's free side. They both played along on their instruments with Kane, it was truly a fun session, both Midna and Link smiled happily as they played. Once their session ended, Link laughed a little, pleased with how they all did, "perhaps one more song, friends?" Link mentioned, he got into position and shuffled around a little on his stool, then he started off the beggining of this song, hoping they could follow along. Midna quickly joined in as well, enjoying the song already, she couldn't help but giggle inside, she would look at Kane occasionally, but then would look back at her instrument, shyly.

Ah, I know this one, Adelynn thought as Kane (and then Link and Midna) began to play a different song. She saw Sard's hand reach out to her, and she couldn't help but reach back, if a little carefully. This would certainly be a good chance to become more self-liberated. She was often her own worst critic, and found that others were not so scrutinizing of her, so perhaps she was being harder on herself than she realized. It was alright to have fun in as many places as she could, even with people she had just barely met. |
