A Pirates Life For Me...[[Open!!!Need Captives]]
“A Pirates life for me…” Thunder sounded at the same time as the canons on a searing hot June night. London was burning and screaming in pure chaos as pirates ransacked the village. Captain Ace Matthews was back and in full force. They stole loads of gold, food, bullets, and even people and then set sail that stormy night. Unknown to them, among those they’d taken captive, they’d kidnapped the Governor’s daughter, Julia. Rules 1. Take into consideration the time period. Places on the Ship Upper Deck – Where most of the action takes place. It’s probably the best place on the ship to spend your free time due to fresh air and death threats from the captain if you don’t keep watch. The Captain’s quarters are situated above deck. Next Deck Down – Includes the kitchen as well as short term food storage. On this level are also the canons for the ship, ten on either side with two spares stored farther below deck. Second Deck Down – This is where the crew sleeps as well as where the captives are held. The crew and captives are on opposite ends of the ship and separated by a bit of space, just about enough so that the crew can sleep in peace. Bottommost Deck – The storage of the ship. Includes their gun powder, food, treasures, pretty much everything that they have, need or want on the ship. |

Ace looked over the wreck of London and grinned. It'd been a successful attack and it was time to set sail and enjoy their loot. Her father would be proud of his crew for such a good job. As she climbed down from the crow's nest (ironic because of her pet) she found herself excited and ready to go. Her crew came aboard, and along with them came captives. They were hurrying, trying to sail off quick before the soldiers regrouped and took over the ship. Canons still sung through the air to keep people at bay as they readied the sails, preparing to escape further conflict.
|
From the deck was where Levi watched the carnage of the once regal city, watching from the sidelines as the rest of the crew pillaged and massacred. It was far from in her nature to dwell in such pastimes, not to mention his more or less lack of any type of useful fighting skills. Yes, it could use a sword on a basic level and yes, she got the basic principal of kill, kidnapping and looting but he was pretty sure that it didn't quite have the guts to put up with such a sport.
At the call to ready the sails, Levi broke from her trance and raced towards the netting to the crow's nest, slipping past the captain in order to clamber up. Not a single word left his mouth as he carried out his orders- prepping the large sails for escape- not even a simple "yes captain" or an "excuse me". Silently, Levi quickly took care of the riggings from his place at least forty feet off the deck, making sure to have at least one hand with a strong hold at all times so that the shaking caused by the canons of both their ship and those of their enemy(s) wouldn't dislodge it and drop her to an invariable death. |
To be honest, this was not how Julia planned on first hitting the seas. In all her plans for riding on a boat, she'd always seen lots more luggage brought on board (for her) and better dressed people. Not to forget the fact that she'd always planned to be walking on a boat of her own steam rather than being pushed and rushed on board. Julia also hadn't ever wanted to set foot on a pirate ship, it was an experience that she'd readied herself to never experience. And here she was being kidnapped, by pirates and brought aboard their ship. Before being brought bellow deck, to where they no doubt housed their filthy crew and those they captured she took one last look at the scenery. It was sad to see London in such a sorry state but she knew that it would recover easily.
|
Ace watched as the flames engulfed the city, and then called out to her crew, "Hurry your grubby asses up before we leave ye behind!" They couldn't afford to take any longer, they had to get out of there and soon. She climbed up to the wheel, and waited for the others to board the ship. Ropes flew through the air and wrapped around the sides of the ship. The troops had caught up and were trying to overtake the ship. “Cut us loose! Levi set the sails for westward! Everybody we must hurry!” She yelled. The ship rocked around as the storm got worse and more people ran on it. Lightning crashed down just barely missing the sails and the loud ring of a canon sounded as she jumped down and helped cut the ropes off the vessel.

You knew a ship could use extra hands when the captain had to do everything himself. At least, that was how Levi's opinion stood on the matter as she watch the captain running around and shouting orders, following most of them on his own. Returning to paying attention to the task at hand, Levi proceeded to continue with what he'd been doing, except this time it was much faster about it and had taken the captain's orders into consideration. As long as it took her far away from danger and far away from the shores where she'd been raised by its father, everything would be good.

Basil, for once, was not the last person to jump on the ship before it left its recently pillaged town. Today was London, and boy oh boy, did he find something nice: a girl with beautiful blue eyes and adorably curly hair. He pushed her aboard the ship and managed to get her to the second deck down without too much yelling and fighting being done.
Up above, he could hear the captain yelling out orders, but the captain had that little Levi thing to help out. Was he really needed? The rest of the crew would get to the ship if they were smart and then the captain would have his help. So what if he wanted it now? Basil had this pretty little girl in front of him. He pushed her into the room he shared with one of the others. The only one who got something better than a bunk was the captain... And that obviously wasn't him. Once in the room with the girl shoved into a chair, he closed the door and smirked, saying "Welcome aboard, miss, it's a pleasure to meet you." To annoy the obviously wealthy girl a bit more, he bowed, saying, "I'm Basil," before leaning casually against the door with his arms loosely crossed in front of him. |
Having been aboard the ship around three years, Taletta could tell the captain wanted to get out of there soon. Glancing over the side of the ship, she saw London burning brightly, the blaze jumping from building to building. Such a big flame it was. The girl briefly wondered if it would make a mark in history, more important than any mark it could make on the city. Briefly worried about the people who may be injured in their raid, Taletta brushed aside all her foolish worries and set about following the captain's orders. Although she did regret the people she may injure in doing what she did, the girl didn't much care any more. Her musket over her shoulder and her rapier in her hand, the girl quickly sheathed the sword, not wanting to use it for such a simple task. Instead, Taletta took an ordinary knife to the ropes that were clinging to the ship. Perhaps someone was trying to climb up that rope? Looking down over the edge, the girl glimpsed that soldiers had started climbing up some ropes, a rather crude way to get on the ship, but it would have worked, if not for the pirates cutting those ropes. So, without remorse, the girl grinned and sliced clean through a rope, ignoring the thud as the man on it hit the dock below. Although, as she ran about, following orders, another thought occurred to her. What if they were simply trying to hold the boat in the harbor? That could be a possibility, but a highly unlikely one. Her green eyes briefly saw a fellow pirate, Basil, pushing some high class looking girl below deck. She was about to yell at him, but stopped herself. The ship was too busy to be meddling in his... strange affairs. If the captain wanted to deal with him, he could, but Taletta didn't want anything to do with it. |
"Aghh! Levi! You about done up there?! If you don't get to it, I'm going to shoot you in your fragile ass! Everyone on board get out here and help unless ye wish for them to hang us!" Ace was so pissed, the loot today was worth it but if anymore time was spent in the harbor it wouldn't be. She finished chopping some of the fresher ropes and helped get everyone boarded. She wanted them to hurry their sorry asses up.

Another thing not on Julia's list of planned accomplishments was getting killed by cannon fire or mauled in a fight. The blonde did not like how this guy was acting though and resisted the urge to closely examine the room he brought her into, it was obviously some sort of crude bedroom and that was all the understanding she needed to give it for now. If these were the quarters given to the crew she didn't want to see where these pirates kept their captives. The blonde folded her hands in her lap and looked up to make eye contact with the pirate guy, Basil wasn't a very pirate-sounding name and she was only a little curious to his background. It dawned on her that she shouldn't throw her status as governor's daughter out into the field so easily, "I'm Juliaetta," and that was all she said.
((A certain key that's also the first letter in my character's name has fallen off, pardon the lack of its presence. Thank copy/paste for its further presence after the first one.)) |
All the girl said was her name.
This was a lot more boring than Basil had expected.... And it showed on his face in a frown. A very unentertained and bored looking frown. It was a pretty name. Really, it suited her. Just... Basil had expected her to at least act kinda angry or show some discomfort about being kidnapped and pulled onto a pirate ship. At least a little bit... Basil had been thinking about offering this girl protection... She would probably need it, too. But, if she was going to be this dull, then... He wasn't entirely sure about it. His frown grew as he thought about it a bit more. Finally, he slid down to sit comfortably in a very informal indian style position. He smiled in a way that only people of his nature can: That mischeivious smile that really looks more like a smirk than anything else. He tilted his head slightly to one side before asking her a very simple question... Only phrased a bit weirdly. "So, Juli. With your looks, I'm sure you'll have trouble on this ship. We picked you up from that mansion and you look pretty rich. My guess is that you've never done a days work in your life. You're going to need some help." The smile grew a bit, "That's where I come in. I'm the only one on this ship that can fight worth anything. If you like, I'll look after you. But, you'll have to do something for me." His expression said that he wanted her to ask what it was, but really, he just hadn't thought about it at all. He was just going on with whatever he thought up. What could he have her do for him...? There was the obvious pleasure he could recieve, but he figured that she wouldn't really want that. He wasn't about to turn into the type of monster he had always hated. Maybe.... She could cook for him? That would be good, but the ship already had a cook... And a good one at that. He pondered this for a little bit before asking (interupting her if she had began to speak or simply ignoring whatever question she asked), "First, I want to hear about you. We took you from a manor... and you don't look particularly happy...." He trailed off for a moment, thinking that he couldn't imagine a person like her ever really being happy. Not happy like he was. He absolutely loved his life.... Maybe he could show her about the joy that is living? "Why don't you look capable of smiling?" he mumbled before catching himself. He looked her right in the eye, that weird smirk back on his face, "I'd like to hear about where you came from." |
"Sir, yes, sir!" Taletta shouted back to the captain, carelessly chopping through a rope to her right. Although the threat of shooting someone in the butt was not too unusual on a ship like this, the girl still thought it a tad of a careless threat. One, it most likely wouldn't be carried out, and two, Levi was already following the previous order 'it' received. Swinging the pre-loaded musket off her shoulder, the black haired girl pointed it and shot a man who was clambering over the rail, trying to board the ship. His body would most likely smash into someone coming up the ropes, but why would a pirate care? Not bothering to load it again, the girl slung the weapon back on her shoulder, continuing to cut ropes with the knives. The blade slicing through a rope was a very satisfying feeling. Each separate strand being cut could be felt through the resistance presented to the knife. So, on the opposite side of ship as the captain, Taletta sliced ropes off, and sometimes, if she felt bored, just grabbed a rope and swung it. Anyone on the end of the rope went slamming into the people on the ropes next to them. There hadn't been much entertaining stuff in the past week, so the girl tried to find as much enjoyment out of the current situation as possible. |
Cameron was on the run.
"Cameron, jist look at th' mess yoo've got yerself in." He darted between the screaming people in the streets and headed towards the boat. He was being chased by three very upset stall owners. While heading back to the ship, Cameron decided to sneak by and steal the coin bags that the owners kept behind the stalls. When the owners realized what had happened, Cameron was already long gone. "If ye wooldnae hae stopped tae gab tae 'at bonnie lass, those men wooldnae hae seen ye." The men were mad, but Cameron was fast. He dashed across the harbour docks and lept onto one of the remaining ropes in order to quickly pull himself up. "Dornt cut thes rope! It's me, Cameron!" he yelled up to the ship. The men down below began to cuss as Cameron grinned and climbed aboard. |
Ace paused from cutting the rope just in time to not send Cameron plummeting to the dock. She was so frustrated that everyone was taking their sweet ass time, and she was the only one who seemed to care about saving their necks. Basil, the sly bastard, had took off to his quarters with some wench, Levi was as slow as ever in setting the sails, and Taletta was having fun, as she swung soldiers off the ropes they attempted to board the ship with.
She offered Cameron her hand, "Here, get your ass on deck and help us get the ship out of the harbor." |
"Thanks, but if me arse was literally oan deck, 'en eh'd be sittin'."
Cameron pulled himself up and ran towards the wheel. "Whit ur we waitin' fur?" Cameron looked up to see Levi still fumbling with the sails. "Hurry yer arse up ur aam comin' up thaur myself! Aam turnin' th' wheel, sae ye better watch!" he yelled. Cameron grabbed a firm hold on the wheel and cranked it hard to the left. They needed to get out of that harbour now and hit the waters again. Time was wasting, so every little thing he could do would help. "Hey Capt, Whaur ur we headed?" he shouted over. |
((Way to wait for us, guys! 0.o But "the Levi thing" isn't really doing much any way... Is Cameron supposed to sound Irish?))
Levi was busy doing what she'd been told when the Captain called out to him with a message along the lines of "hurry your ass up". With a sigh, it turned right back to what she'd been doing without a single reply; Levi didn't exactly like to talk, and the Captain now seemed quite concerned with dragging Cameron back on deck and getting a move on. Yes, getting a move on would have been quite nice... What wasn't so nice, though, was the way the Captain had chosen to threaten him. It got the distinct feeling it was some sort of a tongue and cheek and didn't like it one bit. Though she wasn't just about to voice her complaints to anyone, he also wasn't just about to put up with those sort of comments a second time. The Captain's favorite word might have been ass- as it did seem he used it quite frequently- but that didn't excuse cruel jokes. Besides, would shooting someone in the leg or the head be a lot more efficient? Sighing, Levi quickly finished up with his duty in the rigging just as Cameron was shouting up at it to hurry, resulting in the curly topped girl flinching and practically dropping what she'd been holding. In his fumble to grab the rope, however, Levi wasn't able to grab a hold of much else before Cameron made a rough turn of the wheel. Thankfully, there were already systems of netting in place for such instances, one of which it landed safely in. Deciding not to make any further risk since her job so high off the deck was complete, he began to crawl quickly back towards the crow's nest; hopefully, there would be further assignments back on deck. The wonder that was Levi not being afraid of heights was just about to be discontinued if it had too many more instances of almost falling to her death. |
And instead of looking up at him she was now looking down towards where he sat on the floor. Honestly, this guy was really casual about all this. It was almost like he didn't see her as much of a threat, if any at all. It dawned on Juliaetta that she should probably be at least a little bit miffed, but it made her current stay a lot more comforatable, and if he tried anything... Though really she couldn't imagine what he'd try, that smile put her on edge regardless. Basil hadn't drawn any weapons so Juliaetta didn't feel that her life was in too much danger at the moment, this man would probably prove to be a valuable ally. Though what exactally was he looking for in return? "If you haven't realized, I didn't have much of an opportunity to bring any items of wealth on board with me." Yet, he didn't say anything in reply and moved on, asking about her. Honestly, how could he tell if she was happy or not? Who was he to judge?
A small frown was on her face, "Why would I smile now?" she asked, too focused on that strange statement to answer the others. As a second thought she added; "I've lived in that manor with my father for my whole life." |
Sighing loudly, the girl briefly saw Cameron board the ship, and wondered why he felt the need to delay till last minute to board. Although it didn't make much sense, Taletta figured each person had their own unique way of doing things, and went on cutting ropes. The sudden turn of the ship caught her by surprise, though, and no doubt caused surprise to many others as well. Glancing upward, she saw that although Levi had been 'misplaced', as some would say, by the move of the ship, it was okay. "Be careful up there Levi, and you too, Cameron, unless you want to get the poor child killed!" Taletta yelled at the two, but figured they both already knew what she had said. Turning back around, she realized someone had managed to grab hold of the rail while she wasn't looking. How they stayed on was a miracle, but she saw as they tried to climb aboard that it was just another lousy person trying to chase them down, a government person, no doubt. Possibly the police? Smirking, the girl lifted her foot and landed a strong kick in the middle of the man's chest. Quickly, while he was still in the process of falling, she went back to cutting away the dangling ropes, which would no doubt be useless to their pursuers once the ship cleared the harbor. |
Basil watched Juliaetta while she spoke (the scond time) and frowned along with her. He was about to answer her when the ship lurched to one side.
"DAMMIT CAMERON!" A lovely outburst. "It's almost as if he's trying to throw himself to the sharks...." another one of those smiles and Basil mumbled, "though that wouldn't be too bad." The pirate then turned his attention back to Juliaetta saying, "Sorry, we've got someone with the intelligence of a slug trying to steer the ship." Basil tried to return to the topic, mumbling the questions back to himself, "Why... would you smile now...?" He thought about it. "You've lived there for your whole life...?" He didn't really like the thought of someone staying in the same place for that long... and it showed on his face. "Well, you could smile because you're not there anymore. No more dear old dad telling you what to do or who to talk to or any of that shit....." He trailed off, looked back up at her, then added, "or at least, thats what I've heard rich people do." Then, Basil stood back up and looked down at her, "C'mon, Jules..." He walked over to her and kneeled down in front of her. He took up one of her hands and clasped it in front of the both of them, "You're free now. Doesn't that deserve at least a bit of smile?" Basils smile now seemed to have forgotten about all the mischief he was capable of as he watched her face now. He then got back up, pulling her up with him and added, "that is, you'll be free as a bird if you stick with me," and the mischief was back. Basil turned his face back to her, the smile not dissipating in the least and his hand, now gently, held hers. |
Cameron received no response.
"Okaaaaaay 'en. Whatevar." Cameron tapped his fingers against the wooden wheel and smiled to himself before clinging to it for balance. The sudden movement of the ship finally caught up to him. "Weel, mebbe 'at wisnae sic' a guid idea. I bet it pissed aff Basil though." Cameron began to whistle a merry old tune, and the smile returned to the corner of his mouth. That's when it dawned on him that someone else had yelled. "Tal! I know! Dae ye tak' me fur a fool?" "Idiots," he thought to himself, "Ah main due stupid things, but it's fur a purpose. They'll see." |
(Hi, sorry for interupting >_<;
I sent Korrection a profile for a character a while ago, and I'm not sure if she wants to accept it or not, but please don't accept; I don't really want to be in this RP anymore. Sorry for interrupting, continue!! ^-^) |
((That's fine. :] I'm sorry to hear that you won't be joining us, though. Thanks for checking things out, though. ^ ^ ))
