Name
Kaito
Age
Sixteen
Gender
Male, obviously.
Race
Selkie
(No, not that kind of Selkie. This is a forest dwelling race that are more flexible and agile and faster reflexes then normal humans.)
Weapon
He uses a type of decorative paddle looking weapon rather then bows and arrows. He does have bows and arrows too of course, but those are for hunting, so if he's up to something else, they're left at home.
Personality
It kind of depends on his mood. If he's annoyed, he can be a bit childish, and if he's angry or upset, he becomes more serious. Sometimes you can wonder if he's not older then he is, and other times, you wonder if he's a kid or something. And also, he is kind of lazy in the mornings.
Bio
As a baby, Kaito was abandoned in the woods, but was luckily found by a young woman that pretty much became like his mother. And ever since then, he's lived with her in a small village in the middle of these woods, with ten other people. And trough all of his life, hes never really known anything but these woods and the village, so the people around him was both friends and family.
But on his sixteenth birthday while he was out in the woods for a kind of test, for what they call "coming of age ceremony" in this village, the village was under attack while they were preparing for the celebration in the village, and everyone was killed except for Kaito, since he wasn't even there when it all happened. So pretty much everyone he knew and loved was killed on his birthday, and his sixteenth birthday at that. And in this village, turning sixteen is a big thing. Quite a depressing birthday without a doubt.
He pretty much took care of giving everyhone a proper burial a bit outside of the village himself, and ever since then he's been taking care of the village to the best of his abilities, since all of his memories comes from here, so he of course don't want it to crumble, even if it brings back rather painful memories, but it brings back happy ones to. He just simply isn't ready to leave it all and move on and make new memories yet. No matter how lonely and quiet it is around the village now.

_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_

Stretching his arms out and giving a yawn, but not getting up, Kaito was still in bed, even if morning was almost over. He had alwaysbeen one to sleep in, though, lately he had been sleeping in even more, since no one had been there to wake him up in the mornings. But since he was alone to care for the entire village, even if it was small, he still had allot to do every day, and it was rather tiresome of course, so he really needed the sleep he could get. But even when keeping himself so busy all the time, it was still hard to be alone so often, so he often was speaking to himself, or singing on something he learned trough his life, and even some times doing a bit of role playing, pretending as if some one of the villagers were still there to speak to him. He would probably look completely insane if some one would somehow find the village and pass by to find some one talking to himself, as if he was having a conversation. But loneliness could really get to you after being alone for a while. He knew there was a town outside of the forest though, but he only ever went there if he really had to, so his contact with other people was quite limited.

But after laying in the bed for a while, just looking at the roof for a bit, he finally decided that he had to get up. It was raining outside, which meant he had to go and light a fire in each of the fire places in every house, or it would get too moist inside and things would start to rot and mold, and he was planning on preserving the village for as long as possible. But of course, aftr getting up, he first of all lit a fire in his own house first of all, since he lived there, so he did have to keep his own home in shape if he planned one staying there. He could just get what valubles there was in the village and move into town, but he didn't want that. He wasn't ready to start a new life yet, even if the villagers most likely would want him to forget about what happened and move on. He would move on, eventually, but not yet.

Getting a fire started, he put on a cloak, so that he wouldn't get completely soaked and went out in the rain. At least he was always prepared, so he had chopped up wood and put in every house, since he knew that it rained once in a while of course, so he always chopped up as much wood as he could when it was good weather, the put it to dry in a regular shelter for fire wood before he took it inside.

But he started doing what he was supposed to, going to each one of the homes, lighting a fire so that the inside would stay warm and dry, and talking a bit to himself, pretending as if everyone was still around. He really missed them, no doubt there, but no matter how much he missed them, what was done was done, nothing to do about it. But at least he wasn't one to blame himself. If he had been there, he would just have died to. If the villagers all together couldn't fight back, what difference would some one that was just becoming a grown up do? Pretty much none.

But when he was done, he decided to go out into the woods for a bit and visit the graves. He usually did that once a day anyhow. In a way, it was comforting to go there and talk to them, even if he didn't get a reply. And there was never anyone coming out here anyhow, so he wasn't afraid to leave the village alone for a little while, so he simply just left for the little burial ground for now to visit all of his friends and family.

Name: Arashi Ikazuchi
Age: 15
Sex: Female
Race: Human
Weapon: She doesn't really carry around weapons much since there was hardly ever any danger where she lived. Though, having two older brothers who trained in different fighting arts, they tought her. She learned quick and eventually came to be quicker and have more agility then either of her two brothers. When she needs to carry a weapon, it is a two headed sphere with six inch blades at each end. COnsidering her famaly's wealth in the village, the staff is made of silver and decorated with jewels down near the blades. She only ever carries this with her outside the village.
Personality: Arashi is rather stubborn. She hardly had listened ever to her parents. finding what they said wrong. She has a quick, short temper and can be argumentative. When she needs to cool off, she goes and sits by herself. When she had been younger, her parents only found her as a bad child since she disagreed with them. They had frowned upon everything and anything she did, which only made her try harder. She has a strong will due to this and won't give up on anything. She hasn't really grown close to anyone but her brothers, whome left a long while ago to travel to different villages. Now she lives alone with her parents, this only made her grow up quicker since they didn't want to deal with her and would rather remain locked in their room to work or were at their stand in the market center. While her brothers had been gone, she studied and observed things, increasing her intellegence for someone her age.
Bio: Belonging to a family with three children never suited Arashi really, she loved her brothers; but they drew all the attention to them. Her father loved them more, obviously becaus ethey are sons. Her mother never even liked her as soon as she had been born, she could tell Arashi would be different and not be a daughter she could brag about to other women in the village. Basically, to her parents she was a shame to the family. Her older brothers ignored their parents on this issue though and were the ones to raise her practically.
She was depressed when her brothers had left. But one had turned 20 and the other 19 and had finally decided to leave. They said there was no suitable young females to marry at the village of therir standards. For days Arashi said nothing, but finally did after alomst a month of silence. Other villagers worried, but her parents said she was only doing it for attention. This only made her more angry, not another person in the village knew where she was coming from though.
Eventually, instead of arguing, she became silent once again. She only spoke when neccessary. Instead of hanging around her house anymore she usually goes off and wanders around the town or outside of it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~
Arashi turned on her side, away from the dim light that was seeping into her room through the window. She hated mornings, it just meant another day to her pointless existance. It was not as if someone was really going to come play with her. She was now a freak among the children because of how she acted and because of her wits. Eventually the dim light turned into a brighter one and she finally threw the blankets off of her. She swung her legs over the side of the bed, mumbling.
She heard a light pounding the roof of her house and new it was rainging. She smiled to herself, which she never did in public anymore. She absolutely adored the rain. Ever since she was younger it had always been her favorite wheather, and she didn't know why. Arashi plodded over to her dresser, rubbing her eyes and stretching.She selected out her normal attire (as seen in the picture) and swithced into the clothing. She discarded her dirty clothing into the woven basket next to her door. She walked around her room, unsure of what to do that day. She decided she would go out into the woods, she only ever had been on the outskirts of it, but wanted to go a bit further.
She tied her hair up and stuck the approriate feathers into her beads in her hair. She grabbed her staff and prepared it to take it out. She slipped on her hooded cloak and threw up the hood, tieing the piece in front so it would stay up. She slung her staff onto her back and ran out of the house. She was finally to the edge of the woods.
The sound of a wagon approaching alarmed her. No one ever traveled the road at this time or while it was raining. The roads always turned muddy and crappy. She ran to hide, just in case if the person was dangerous. But she bumped into a man, who looked at her with a dirty look. She turned only to bump into another, then another. She became frantic and, kneeing one of them in the balls she was able to escape. The men had come out of th wagon after spotting her. She heard shouts and knew they were following.
She calmed her nerves down and decided to loose them in the woods. Surely it would be easy enough to get back.... Were thoughts running through her head as she dodged threw the trees and hopped over each root. She didn't fear the animals, she just needed to get away from the men. She heard them catching up, so she began to speed up. She finally lost them, good timing to, she began to feel the fatigue settle in. She was gasping for air and fell onto the soaked ground. BEfore everything went black, she thoughts she had seen a small village.
Kaito was spending a while at the small burial ground. But even if he there wasn't much going on, he still had allot to talk about. And it actually helped allot to sit there and speak to them. He might not be getting a reply, but it still felt as if they were listening. But since the cloak was getting wet, it was about time to leave. So after saying good bye to them, he headed back to the village again.
But as he got back, he really was in for a surprise. There was some one there, on the ground. And, it kind of looked like a girl, about his age. But she was soaked, and somewhat muddy, so he wasn't sure. But of course he couldn't just leave some one on the ground in the rain. She would freeze to death. Or drown in a puddle. So he decided to just take her inside. Good thing he had fires going. Then it was already warm inside.
So he did what he could, picking her up, or more like pulling her along to his house. But he didn't really want to soak up the entire house and the bed. So he first of all took off his cloak and hung it up to dry, and even if she might not like it once she woke up and all, but, he was not going to let her sleep in his house and in his adoptive mothers bed in soaked clothes. So, he simply did what he had to and removed almost all her clothes, except for the underwear's. He was not removing those. Not a chance. He just wrapped her up quickly in a blanket and put her in bed.
After that, he wasn't sure what to do really. But seeing as the fire was burning out, he decided that he would take a short trip around the village again and make sure that the fires kept burning. But he made sure to get it going in his own house first, since now there was someone there. When he was done he could just go and make some dinner or something. He hadn't eaten yet today. But for now, he would leave the passed out girl to sleep while he went back out again. Wouldn't take long, there was only seven homes in the village with his included.
Arashi squinted her eyes as she regained consious. She felt something warm and fuzzy wrapped around her and something soft beneath her. She rubbe dher eyes and looked around the room. She blinked, trying to recall what happened. She gasped quietly, that's right, the men had been chasing her. She had then passed out. Apparently the supposed imagined village had been real. She shuffled out of the blanket and tossed it to the side. She wondered where exactly she was besides a village inside the woods. She wondered how long the village had been here.
Stretching, she tossed her feet over the edge of the bed. She then noticed the fire running and sniffled, it smelled wierd, she thought. Apparently someone had been there only moments before. She got off of the bed, only then noticing her clthes had been removed. A dark blush lit her features and she grew angry. She looked around for her clothes but could not find them. She huffed, whomever had taken her clothes off were going to pay. She quickly grabbed the blanket once more before the person came back. She tied it around her upper half and sat back ont he bed, indian style, waitng for that who to return. She had quite a few things to say to them.
It only took Kaito a few minutes to go around the village and put more wood in the fireplaces. And this time he put allot of wood on so that it would burn long. Then he wouldn't have to take as many laps around the village today to keep them all going. He would just keep an eye on his own at home. When that one was starting to burn out, he would know it was time to take another lap around the village again. It had been working up till now after all. It had just happened once or twice that one of the fireplaces might have ended up burning out completely. But it was easy enough to get one going again.
And after the last house, it was time to get back to his own and start making something to eat. He wasn't the best cook in the world, but he could at least make a decent meal as long as he kept it simple. But as he headed back and stepped inside of his own home, still wearing the cloak and wearing the hood that was attached to it, since he wanted to stay dry, he was a bit surprised to see that the girl he had found just a little while ago was up already. She sure recovered fast enough.
"You're up already? That was fast. Almost expected you to be out longer."
If she was focusing on the lack of clothes matter, that could probably be taken the completely wrong way. No doubt there. But of course, he wasn't thinking of that. He was just glad she was up. He wanted to find out who she was and what she was doing there, as he wasn't that comfortable with complete strangers after what happened to the village. But he wouldn't push her too much now. she had just collapsed out on the ground a little while ago. she was probably tired. So he simply took the cloak off and hung it up by the door to dry a bit while he walked back over to the fireplace to get started with making something to eat.
"If you're hungry or anything. I don't mind it if you eat a bit, but I would really want to know who you are and what business you have all the way out here. No one really comes here after all."
Arashi had began to grow impatient when a boy about her age entered. He must have been the one to remove my clothes.... She thought as she felt the blush rise to her cheeks again. Here she was in front of a boy around her age and covered by nothing but a blanket. She was snapped from her thoughts as she spoke. Her blush turned from embaressment to one of anger.
He was asking her who she was?! He was the who owed her some answers, removing her clothes and all. She crossed her arms and glared at him. She remained quiet, only eyeing him. Since he had stripped her of her clothes, she wouldn't know even where to find her staff she had had with her. She sighed and tried to calm herself down.
"Why should I answer any of these questions you have? I think you need tot tell me who you are, where I am, and where the neck all of my clothes went. Other than that, you shall get nothing out of me until you tell me those things I just said."
She then noticed her stomach was rumbling and was glad he was going to allow her to eat. She hadn't eaten anything that day. She kust hoped he wasn't a horrible cook. She hadn't a clue how to cook at all being she had a hired cook in her kitchen. The cook wa sone of the finest, so anyone else's food would surely taste like crap to her. She shivered at the thought. Her eyes were still locked on his as she waited for some answers.
Hearing that, his mood really dropped. Now he was just plain annoyed at her. She was the one that stumbled into the village and collapsed, so she was the one that didn't belong here. And he just saved her from certain death. She would most likely have frozen to death out there if he hadn't taken her inside. And yet she was being really rude. So before he turned back to her, he took something standing next to the fireplace, that probably looked like some kind of paddle or some kind of decorative artifact before he walked over to her, and whacked her over the head with it. He was getting really annoyed over her acting like this after he dragged her in here and tucked her in to warm her up.
"You could at least pretend to be grateful after I dragged you into my home after you collapsed on the ground by the village! If I would have just left you you most likely would have frozen to death. And then I would just have thrown you back out in the woods. You're the stranger here, and I want to know what business you got here. If you won't tell me I'll just throw you back out in the rain in your underwear!"
At least he was letting her know that he was upset. She had no right to act like that after what he had done for her. If she was going to be like that he would just kick her out, head first.
"If you want something to eat you speak, or you will be out of here in the blink of an eye."
She glared at him and rubbed where he had hit her. She was about to protest when she noticed her stomach rumbling again. She closed her eyes, trying to calm herself. She was hungry and wanted food, but there was no way she wanted to tell him anything about her. Then again, it was his village.... but there appeared to be no one else there. She wondered where all the other villagers were. She knew he wasn't going to answer this if she asked, especially since she was acting as is.
"Fine then. I am Arashi. My business here? I only happened to stumble upon your village by chance. I was being chased by a group of men who wanted to... do things to me. I ran into the woods in hopes of loosing them and then I passed out just as I reached your village."
She hoped she had answered enough of what he wanted. She was really starting to get hungry, which wasn't helpjgn her mood.
"Now, would you mind telling me where my clothes and my staff is?"
He listened to her story for a moment, before turning back to the fireplace, starting with making some food. Since she told him her story, she had just earned herself a meal. But since she finally introduced herself to him, he decided to go ahead and introduce himself to.
"Well, at least you earned yourself a meal now. Even if you were being a real brat... But don't worry about your clothes. I put them to dry in a shelter outside, since I don't want them dripping all over, and your staff is in one of the other houses, since I didn't know what kind of person you were. And seeing how you are, I am glad I hid it..."
He kind of mumbled that last part. As she was behaving, he wouldn't have been surprised if she had hit him with that staff if given a chance, so it was better to hide it. He hadn't actually hid it in another house, he was just saying that so that she wouldn't start looking for it in here. But it was probably about time he told her his name.
"Anyhow, I'm Kaito, and this is my house. So you better behave if you don't want to sleep outside. I won't let you just go into some of the other homes, since with your temper, I don't trust you at all."
She nearly lost the slight grip on her temper she had had when he called her a brat. She calmed herself, knowing she should feel grateful and all. She sighed, she certainly didn't want to be kicked out in the rain. 'He better not have done something to my staff...' she thought to herself as she peered around the house once more.
"Whatever, as long as I can have my stuff back, I will be more than happy to cooperate... for now. Just don't plan on me being so next time you set me temper off....."
(sorry it is short, my mind isn't work well right now.)
He gave her another light whack on the head with his odd weapon before he went back to making something to eat. Why he whacked her that last time was up to her to guess. Maybe he just wanted to get some steam out. And she was good for that, since she was really acting like a spoiled brat. At least in his eyes. He had grown up learning to be appreciative when some one was trying to help you, and she was being the straight opposite to what he had learned. So he just couldn't understand her at all.
But when he finally got to get back to making dinner, it didn't take all that long for it to be done. And soon enough he got two bowls, one for her and one for himself and filling them up and handing one of the bowls to her. It was just simple stew, but it was still not half bad. At least not for him. But on other hand, he had no choice but to eat it, no matter it was good or not, since otherwise he would starve.
But he took his bowl and went and sat by the table. He would let her eat in the bed if she felt like it. It wasn't as if she would get her clothes back yet anyhow. She would get them back when they were dry, and hopefully the rain would have ended by then.
Arashi took the bowl without saying anything. The last whack on the head from him jarred her head and now there was a slight throb. She shook her head, ridding of the sensations. She almost decided to stay in bed but decided to join him at the table. She stood and went over, sitting across from him. The soup was ok, bland comapred to the cooks in her kitchens at home.
She had grown up getting anything she had wanted. She grew accustomed to this and felt like everything and anything she wanted should just be handed to her. She didn't understand why the boy was acting the way he was and calling her a brat.
She sat there, saying nothing, as she pondered over this. People hadn't ever helped her because they fel tthe need to or wanted to, rather that she had ordered them too. Him saving her and helping her made her uncomfortable in a way.
Kaito pretty much stayed quiet while eating. He was probably eating in a bit of a different way then some one like her was used to. But he at least got to learn that if he ate too fast he would get a tummy ache, but when he was almost done, he pretty much just took the bowl and drank the rest of it up before. But he felt more happy after getting to eat something. And that was clear. At least till he looked over at her. He really hoped that if she was planning on staying for a while that she would be nicer. He wasn't that patient with girls.
He watched her for a while, actually a bit surprised that she had decided to sit by the table at all to eat. He was even surprised to see her eating. But, since she seemed to have decided to be nice, he would sit there for a bit longer himself. He even went ahead and took another bowl of stew for himself. And if she was still hungry, she could take some more too once she was finished.
"If you're still hungry you can just go ahead and take more once you finished the bowl. There is plenty of it left. And for how long have you planned on staying here anyhow?"
If she was staying long, she would have to help out of course and pull her weight around here. Help with cleaning and cooking, and even helping out around the village. And it would be nice to get half of the things off his shoulders for a while.
Arashi found the silence uncomfortable while they had been eating. Eating at home, she was used to there being plenty of people and them talking. She found that even more annoying though since it was all just usally pointless crap. EIther that or it was gossip, event he men gossiped of eachother. She always mentally shook her head and swearing she ahd been the only sane one there.
She glanced at KAito while he had finished his soup. She wondered what he thought of her. PRobably just some spoiled kid that was a pest all the time no doubt. She nearly jumped when he spoke, not expecting him to say anything to her at all. She wasn't sure about the second part but had soon finished and grabbed another bowl of the soup.
She though over the last question carefully. She wasn't sure what he would make her do around here, but she didn't ecpect to be able and just lay back as she did at home. She doubted her parents cared that she was gone or even noticed she was. They probably since they didn't have anyone to yell at and take their problems out on. She didn't ever even do anything anyways and her time was wasted in the town.
"Well, I don't know how long I want to stay. Probably for a while because I have nothing for me at the village. IT really just depends on if you can tolerate my prescence here. I don't expect to be able to stay and do nothing, I would do my fair share. I also have learned some cooking that might just turn meals into something less bland." She almost smiled at the last part, not meaning it to offend him.
At least she was agreeing on doing her share of work if she intended to stay. That was good. And it wouldn't hurt to have some company here in the village either. It was rather empty and quiet. But on other hand, hearing her comment on his food being bland got him in a bit of a bad mood. It might not be the best in the world, but it was not bland. Geez, where on earth had she come from anyhow? Maybe it would be for the best to have her stay in one of the other homes. She could pick as long as she didn't make a mess and was doing her share of work and all. Then he didn't really care where she choose to stay in the village. There wasn't that many homes anyhow, so he wouldn't end up losing trace of her.
"You can stay here as long as you want to as long as I don't have to share house with you. There are plenty of empty ones. If you won't make a mess or anything, you can pick any of them to stay in."
He might be able to stand her a few times a day or so, but he would probably lose his mind if he had to spend all day AND night with her. He wouldn't be able to handle that at all. But he at least wasn't throwing her out of the village. If he was, he would at least show her trough the woods so that she wouldn't end up getting herself killed.
