Name
Kaito
Age
Sixteen
Gender
Male, obviously.
Race
Selkie
(No, not that kind of Selkie. This is a forest dwelling race that are more agile and light on their feet, and are expert at leaping and jumping.)
Weapon
He uses a type of decorative paddle looking weapon rather then bows and arrows. He does have bows and arrows too of course, but those are for hunting, so if he's up to something else, they're left at home.
Personality
It kind of depends on his mood. If he's annoyed, he can be a bit childish, and if he's angry or upset, he becomes more serious. Sometimes you can wonder if he's not older then he is, and other times, you wonder if he's a kid or something. And also, he is kind of lazy in the mornings.
Bio
When Kaito was a baby, his real parents abandoned him in the woods, despite the rumors of being haunted. But to his luck, he was found and taken care of by a young woman who happened to pass by that day. And this young woman lived in a small village in the middle of these woods, with ten other people. A small but really warm and friendly little village. And everyone of course loved the new little baby. As long as he happy, the villagers were happy, and he grew up in a rather safe, warm and friendly environment. Everyone was counted as both family and friends.
But on his sixteenth birthday, while he was going trough what they called "coming of age ceremony", the little village was attacked, and everyone was killed. And as Kaito returned, the murderers had already left, and it was simply too late. And after going trough the pain to bury everyone he ever knew, by a small lake in the woods, he's been trying to keep the village in shape, just so that he can remember everyone and remember the good times. Even if it of course brings back painful memories. But he just simply isn't ready to leave it all behind and move out of the woods.
But there really isn't many people coming there, so it's quite lonely and quiet. But visiting the graves once in a while and talking there to the villagers always makes him feel a little better, as it feels as if they're at least there to listen, even if there is no reply.
_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_
Kaito gave a heavy yawn as he stretched out over his bed, just feeling plain lazy today. He always was one to sleep in, but for some reason, he had found it really hard to sleep lately, since there was no one there nagging at him to get up and all. He was so used to it that he just couldn't sleep in without hearing that in the mornings. But he still didn't feel much for getting up. It was just the same routine every day. Maintaining the village to make sure that it wasn't just swallowed up by the forest. Every day he went around the village, opening the windows to get fresh air into each and every home during sunny and warm days, and during rainy and cold days, he went to all homes, lighting a fire in the fireplaces, so that it would feel as if there were still people in the village. And sometimes, he ever talked to himself, just so that it would feel lonely, and doing little role plays, as if there are still people around. If some one saw him doing that, they would probably think he was insane. But on other hand, he probably wasn't far from it. Being used to all the attention that he had been given trough all of these years, it was quite a dramatic change for him to all of a sudden be completely left alone. But there wasn't anything he could really do about it, unless he wanted to move to town. But he didn't like such places. Too much crowd. He would simply stay here till he was ready to move on with life.
so for now, he just decided to get up and get ready to take a look around, and open windows and such so that the homes would stay in good condition. And maybe he could 'stay the night at a friends house' tonight? Would be a nice change really. Even if, under the circumstances, all of the homes pretty much belonged to him. So that much for sleeping at a friends house. But oh well.
Taking something simple for breakfast, he just left his house, starting to go trough all the other homes. And once done with that, he had decided that he would go and visit the graves. He really had allot to talk about, even if every day looked the same. And sometimes he was just going there to talk because he kind of hoped to get some kind of reply. But for now, he just left the village for itself for a while. And visitors were to rare here that he didn't even bother to lock any of the doors. And on top of that, he would be back soon anyhow, so if some one came, he would most likely be back by then.

Name:
Annalesia
Nickname:
She has many but most common are Annie and Anna
Age:
Fifteen
Race:
Human
Weapons:
None. But she does have a dog with her at all times whom has unnatural senses.

Personality:
She tends to be a bit quiet and keep to herself, observing what's around her. When she comes to be comfortable with a person-which doesn't happen very often-she may come out of her shell, becoming energetic and joyous, fun to be around. She will never go anywhere without her dog-Duece-because he's the closest thing to home or family she's ever known. She may seem to be quite innocent to others but she actually knows a lot more than most do. Duece is the only one who she currently is open with, playful with him and he is very protective over her.
Biography:
Annalesia was born in a wealthy and very religious christian family but was abandoned by them as a young child because of her eye color. The pastor's had told her parents the same night she was born that her violet eyes were a symbol of a devil follower, making her a heinour and embarrassing mark on her parents. They kept her hidden in their big home, the highest level of the house devoted especially to her, their maid raising her until she was three, never leaving this level. At this age their parents decided that nothing they could do would change the fact that she was a devil follower so they gave her up, leaving her on the doorstep of an orphanage. When the caretaker came to the door, however, Annie was nowhere to be found, and nobody looking for her. For as long as she could remember Duece was her protector, best friend, and father. He'd been raising her ever since she was abandoned...stealing food for her...clothes, whatever she needed, he always knew and would get it for her at all costs. Sometimes she can't help but wonder if the dog can read her mind....

Annalesia whimpered, each dreadful step she took sending waves of pain through her body, twigs cracking beneath her feet, "You know Duece...when I said I wanted to explore I didn't intend for you to get us lost...we've been out here for what, days now?" he whimpered and she smiled sympathetically, "I know sweetie," she pet his head reassuringly, "Neither of us was expecting that bunny," she often talked to him...he's her only comfort she's ever known. Even the maid was cold to her, thinking she was dirty because she wasn't quite normal. She heard there was a medical term for a person like her; an albino. It described her perfectly....the nartural white hair, the violet hued eyes, the almost white complexion...pretty much no pigment to her....but nobody thought of her like that. They just saw a freak.
Annie gasped aloud, her foot catching on a root sticking out of the ground, doing a painful faceplants into sticks and leaves and roots. She rolled onto her back, bringing her knee to her chest and looking at the scrape. Frowning, she let go of her leg, her body slumping into the leaves weakly. Duece whined again, licking at her wound, distracting her from the sting, "Can't we just...t-take a re....take a rest? We've been walking for days, haven't stopped since we got lost...please Duece...just a little nap." the dog growled at her, shaking his head, it was creepy how human-like he can be...
Using most of the strength she had left, she turned onto her stomach, lifting herself onto her hands and knees. When she flipped her white hair out of her face a glimmer in the distance caught her attention. She squinted as she stared at it...was that a fire? She glanced over at Duece, his snout in the air, his nostrils twitching as he sniffed. When he lowered his snout back down and began to walk slowly towards it he looked back at her, his head turning back and forth between her and the light as if telling her to follow...that it's okay.
After what seemed like hours they reached the light; it was a fire inside a house...there were ten of them. Entering the nearest house she almost moaned as the heat from the fire reached her. Duece layed down beside it and she lay beside him, curling into him, her head resting on her his chest, nuzzling into his fur. She didn't mean to...but when she blinked, her eyes seemed to be glued shut, the darkness overtaking her as she slipped into unconsciousness, going to sleep to the sound of Duece's heartbeat gently pounding in her ears.

After spending some time by the graves, it was finally time to head back to the village. The graves were a bit away from the village, since he had wanted to bury them all in the prettiest of places he knew in the woods. A little pound where his foster mother used to take him all the time. It was a bit of a walk, but considering that he wasn't human, he was rather fast, so it only took a few minutes back and forth. But today he just felt like walking back, so it took a bit longer then usual.
But once he got back to the village, he just went to the first couple of homes, making sure that the fire was burning the way they should and all, but as he got closer to the middle of the village, he sensed that there was some one here. And not just one, but two. Had some animals gotten into one of the homes? Well... That would save him time with getting dinner. Not that he really needed anything now, since he had what he needed, but he could always dry or salt some meat so that he had some for later.
He took up his weapon. He was just carrying the paddle looking one at the moment, since he hadn't planned on hunting, and started looking trough the homes he hadn't been in yet after coming back. He was kind of relieved that there was no one in his home. And after that, he only had one left to go to and that was the house next door. That's where they had to be. All other homes were empty. Normally he would have sensed where they were right away, but he had been thinking about so much else that he wasn't that focused right now. But at least he knew where they were now.
He walked to the house next door, carefully opening the door. There was an animal in there alright, but there was a person to. So he really was surprised to see that. Had they gotten lost here or something? It was so rare to ever see people here at all. But looking at how exhausted the human seemed, he just couldn't bear to go and wake her up. But, he of course still was curious about how on earth they got here and why they were here and all.
Maybe he could get some answers when she woke up? And, just to be nice, he would make her and the dog something to eat. But for now, he would let them rest for a while. He would go home and cook something simple up and come back. They looked like they would be out for a while after all. (And making a little skip here...)
After a while, he was done, making a big pot with meat and vegetable stew. That was something his foster mother had taught him to make. She had always been teaching him things he would need to know for the future, since you never knew what might happen. And darn he was happy she taught him all of that.
But he didn't need to bring any bowls along, since all homes had that anyhow. But he brought the pot inside and putting it on the table in the middle of the room and going ahead and taking out some bowls and spoons to eat with. He would eat there himself, since he hadn't eaten yet himself. But he would wait a bit and see if the two of them woke up, since the stew had to cool down for a bit anyhow. But he would stay quiet, since they might need some more rest. He wasn't too found of having complete strangers there, but, she had an animal with her, so it couldn't be that bad.

Annie's brows furrowed as the raising and falling of Duece's ribs changed. It vibrated with a growl once second, then the next he was out from under her, standing over her body, her small body between his front and hind paws. Her eyes jerked open as she looked around. A boy sat at a table across the house from them, her eyes searched him but found no sign of danger, "Shh...." she reached up with a pale hand, stroking Duece's snarling snout calmingly. Seconds ticked by as the husky relaxed, but the second he was calm he began to sniff at the air eagerly. She did the same, her nose catching a delicious smell, her stomach growling at her in response. Frowning, she reached down and rubbed her flat stomach, her other hand rubbing at her tired, sore eyes. She blinked at the boy as Duece made his way to him, his nose twitching as he sniffed him. No growls....no danger. The dog slinked back to Annie, licking her face lovingly. Smiling and giggling, she nudged him away, wiping his slobber off of her face.
Her muscles quivered beneath her, Duece hovering close in case she fell back down, as she rose to her hands and knees, then her feet. She groaned, stretching her arms out, her back arching until it popped. She winced at the noise. Now that she was on her feet she could see the food, the delicious yummy looking food...it was soup...with meat and vegetables. Her stomach growled furiously against up at her but she stayed planted where she was, it would be rude of her to intrude on his meal. Her body disagreed with her manners though, her mouth watering and her lips suddenly dry. She could hear Duece smacking his jaw as he licked his snout, drool dripping from his mouth. She bowed her head down, her fingers grabbing her skirt as she dipped down in a curtsy, "My apologies for trespassing sir...." her voice was quiet and feminine, her head staying down as she avoided eye contact.

He watched as the dog at least woke up, but when the dog growled at him at first, he really didn't seem to care all that much. He was rather used to animals, and some growled, some even attacked, but he was good at handling it. His kind were forest dwellers. In fact, he could understand what animals said. Though, he didn't really have a conversation with them, at least not in public, since people thought he was insane when he did that. Some really didn't get Selkies at all. But oh well.
Soon after the dog woke up, the girl woke up, and when he saw her face and eyes a bit, he actually looked a little shocked. Her appearance was so darn similar to his foster mothers that it was creepy. And when she spoke to him, he seriously was close calling her by his foster mothers name, but he shook that off quickly, and instead giving a bit of a pout when she called him Sir. He wasn't that old so that he could be called Sir. Now she was just being ridiculously formal.
"I'm not that old you know. Don't call me Sir. Sounds like something you would call an old man... And I take it from the growls and the drooling that you both are hungry... Just sit down and you can have some. Got a bowl for your friend to."
The funny part of that, was that he was actually talking to the dog mostly, rather then the human. He had been alone for way too long, so he had kind of forgotten who was the pet and who was the owner when it came to humans and animals.
But he went ahead and filled up two bowls for them. The dog of course got a bigger one, since dogs usually ate more to keep their energy up. And he took some for himself to.

Annalesia's head snapped up when he offered her some of the food and she made her way to the table, sitting and placing Duece's bowl on the floor beside her chair. As if routinely, the dog lapped at the food, biting into meat and vegetables. After a few bites the dog pulled away from the food, waiting, until a few seconds later her looked up at Annie, dipping his head down then back up as if nodding to her. They both began to eat their food in unison, the dog lapping at it, and her eating quietly with her silverware. It seemed she couldn't eat it fast enough though. Her stomach was quivering with delight, the hot liquid putting a comforting coat over her throat, the food settling amazingly in her stomach. Her pale eyelashes shadowed her eyes as she glanced up at him through them every once in a while.
She finished her food quickly, though not quite as fast as Duece even though he had way more. Something she found interesting was that it seemed this boy wasn't too good with human interaction, paying more attention to the dog than her. Was he uncomfortable with girls? Or did he just find her a freak like everybody else does? He has no room to talk though....his hair is blue. Like, electric blue. She'd never seen that before. How did he do it? Did he use berries juices or something?
"Thank you for the food. It was very delicious." she smiled at him, clearing her throat softly.
Duece knelt beside her, his head plopping into her lap, licking at his snout. He's a happy dog right now. The only possible meal they'd ran into during their whole 'adventure' was a rabbit who was able to get away. And the rabbit was what caused them to get lost! So they hadn't eaten in days. His eyes closed comfortably as she rubbed the top of his head adoringly, scratching behind his ears for him, he always did like that. Sure enough, his tail wagged, beating at the floor happily.

Kaito just couldn't help but to look at her a few times, but of course, quickly turned his attention to the dog instead. He probably looked more as if he had seen a ghost or something. But, seriously, looking at the girl was as if he was looking at his dead foster mother, so it was a bit creepy. The similarity was way too close. He was even having a hear time to eat at the moment, since he was trying to get rid of the ideas to ask her anything too stupid. Like, if she might be a rebirth of his foster mom or anything. That would probably just sound plain stupid. But he still missed her quite a bit. But he eventually managed to eat up his meal, rather surprised at how fast the other two had been eating. Darn they must have been hungry.
"There is allot more if you're still hungry ma-- I mean..."
He wasn't really sure what on earth to call her, since he didn't know what her name was at all. He had kind of forgotten the introduction part. But he would have to get all of those thoughts out of his head before he said something or he would make himself look like a complete idiot here. He was already getting somewhat embarrassed for almost calling her 'mama'. But she hopefully couldn't guess what he almost had called her.

Did he almost call her ma'am? "My name is Annalesia. And you are?...." once again he was looking at the dog more than her. This would get kind of annoying....she's lived all of her life with people glancing at her, looking back at her, shocked, then would try their best not too look again because they felt too awkward. This boy seemed kind...but confused....like he'd never been around other humans. She watched him, her violet eyes speculative...she'd noticed the house was clean yes, but lacked the assets it would contain if inhabited by a human. The bed was cold despite the fire and dull looking in the corner, the sheets untouched and stiff. A thin layer of dust was cumulating on the top of the cabinets and counters. Nobody lives here....confused, her brows furrowed, what kind of village had she stumbled upon? Surely he wasn't the only inhabitant, "And not to seem too straightforward but could I ask for a tour?" she wanted to see the other villagers. Her cheeks blushed pink and she lowered her eyes from his, she never speaks to people so....so directly...she didn't prefer people too much...

He looked up a bit when she introduced herself. It was a bit of a relief really that she at least had a different name then his foster mother. Otherwise, he would have felt really uncomfortable right now. But he was still rather uncomfortable anyhow. She was like the spitting image of his foster mom. His foster mother did look really young for her age. Not that she was all that old anyhow. But still.
"I'm Kaito... And sorry if you find me strange... Just been long since anyone has been here. And you do look just like the woman that found me and raised me."
He didn't really want to say 'mother', since that would most likely sound weird to the girl to hear. But she could probably still understand what he meant, since he had said that she looked like the woman who raised him. And it was better just to say it then to confuse the girl or make her feel awkward as well. And he would not mention that his foster mother actually looked younger then her, since he didn't want to piss her off or anything.
But as she asked about a tour, he was just completely puzzled. Why on earth would she want a tour here? There was nothing special to see. Just a bunch of empty houses. But, if that was what she really wanted, why not? If she intended to stay for a while, then she could always pick one house out that she wanted to stay in. Would kind of feel more comfortable to at least have some one else in the village.
"I suppose... Not that I know why you want to look around the village, but if you really want to, then I don't mind showing you around."

"Kaito is a lovely name. And my apologies, it's just that I'm afraid I didn't get a chance to look around when I arrived so...." she looked like a woman who found and raised him? What does he mean found him? Was he abandoned like she was? Her throat stung at the topic, the pain of abandonment a massive monster in her mind; kept slunk in the shadows but when proked and prodded would kick into gear, attacking her most sensitive area, her heart. She knew how much it hurt and if that's what happened to him she wouldn't bring it up. She stood from the table, scooting her chair into the table, taking their bowls and making her way to the sink, running water over them and setting them in it softly. Duece and her walked to the door quietly, their feet making no noise on the floor. They waited for him politely, fighting the urge to pop their heads out the door and peek around.

Kaito watched her for a while. She really became really quiet all of a sudden. Did he say something wrong? Oh well. Maybe it was the part that she looked like his foster mother that bothered her. But at least he didn't tell her that she looked older then she had done. But at least the talking seemed to be over with. Unless she asked about where all the villagers were. If she wanted to meet them, he could show her them, even if it wouldn't be much of an introduction. But for now, he would just show her around. If she wanted to stay for a while, he would let her pick a house, as long as it wasn't his own.
He got up and stretched his arms a bit before he followed her outside, really not much to see. You could really see the entire village from where they were right now, so he simply pointed at each one of the homes, telling her who used to live where and even what race they were. It was really an odd mix of races in this village. And the types you never really heard about. Some didn't even know what the heck they were. Yuke, Lilith, Selkie, and instead of calling humans, humans, they called them Calavat here. So, to Kaito, Annalesia was a Calavat.
But on other hand, if she wanted to go around the village and take a look, then they could of course do that to.

Annie looked around, confused, most of the races he mentioned she'd never even heard of. Images filled her mind of what they could look like, talk like, act like, and even the powers the could have! The possibilities were endless. Duece looked up at her and whimpered, her eyes darting to him instinctively. The dogs snout darted from her to the boy then around the village, sweeping it with his mouth from his perspective. He was right....Her violet eyes scanned the village, checking every window, every door, every pathway, but she found no beings whatsoever. Her ears perked as she listened, but no noises were penetrating her hearing. She clicked her tongue, Duece kicking into gear at the sound, Annie on the dogs heels as he slinked down the path. Every house had a fire going, was well kept, liveable....but no beings so far. She stopped after looking into three of them and waited, Duece continueing without her. After only about half a minute or so the dog was trotting back and sitting in front of her. His snout moved from the right to his left, as if shaking his head no, "Where is everybody?" she called behind her to the boy.

Seemed that she had figured out that the village was empty. And when she finally asked the unavoidable question about where everyone is, he decided that it would be so much more easy to just show her then to talk about it. So he gave a funny look, rubbing the back of his head. Would probably be a shock for her to know what happened. And it was such a pain for him to think about WHEN it happened. On his sixteenth birthday of all. And who on earth attacks a helpless and peaceful village? There was nothing to get here, and there was no profit in mindless killing.
But he gave a sigh. He would show her, since she wanted to know where everyone were.
"Well... If you want to meet them, I could show you where they are. They're in the woods by the pound."
He said as he started walking trough the village, since the way to the pound was at the other side of the small village. But he made sure that Annie and the Dog were following him, since otherwise it would be a bit of a pointless walk. He didn't usually go there more then once a day, unless there was something important.

Annalesia cocked an eyebrow at his back curiously, Duece's head tilting to the side simultaneously. He said he'd show him where they were...but he said they were by the pound...does that mean that their species had part dog in each of them and he's the only human-like one? It couldn't be...she didn't look like a dog and he said she looks like the woman who found and raised him...she frowned in wonder...Did she want to see them? What if they didn't like her? Or got mad that she trespassed into their homes? She didn't want them to be mad at her...
Duece stayed close to her side as they followed the boy, his fur brushing against her thighs every so often. The dogs head was moving back and forth, every once in awhile checking behind them like he always did. He's so darn protective over her. She always wondered how it is that the dog managed to raise her since she was merely three years old....and why he did in the first place. Yes, she looks different...but nothing else was special about her...no powers that she knew of...nobody famous she's related to...why her? Did somebody send the dog or did the dog find her on it's own? Did it mistake her for it's own child? She found it curious that the dog felt no need to keep an eye on the boy they were following. Why did she seem to trust him so much? They just met him...

While they were walking along, heading towards the pound that Kaito had mentioned. He was picking some wild flowers on the way to. He wanted to give something to everyone since he was going there again today anyhow. And there were allot of nice flowers growing in these woods.
It took them a while to get there, but at least Kaito wasn't one to get lost. He had lived in these woods all his life, so he knew his way around really well, so he never got lost around here. But when he went outside the forest and in to town or something, he usually got lost. All houses in towns looked the same. But it was probably the same for Annie in the woods. It all looked the same no matter where you went. At least when you hadn't been here before.
But they eventually got to the pound and the first thing Kaito did was walk over to the first of the graves, but before he started putting flowers on them, he looked over at Annie and the dog for a moment. This was them. Everyone but him from the village.
"Here they are. All the villagers are here."

Annalesia's brows furrowed in confusion and her head tilted to the side...until it sank in what he meant....they died. Every single one of them though? So he's been living alone....poor thing. She couldn't imagine how lonely he'd been...at least Duece made sure that Annie had human interactment on at least a weekly basis...But this boy had had NO interactments...it made her want to run to him and pull him into a tight hug. But even having been around humans before she couldn't remember the last time she'd held a person, whether hugging a friend, or holding a loved one...plus, she didn't want to make him feel awkward.
Her head nodded solemnly to him, "I'm sorry for your loss," she could feel the pain he must feel...a part of his life missing. He's alone. His only family buried beneath the earth. It must feel like a hole in his life, one he was helpless to fill, and a gaping one, that grew over time, his lonliness building until the hole consumed him overall. A tear stung at her eyes and Duece whined at her feet, mourning with her. They often share their feelings like this, but she'd never seen Duece so sad....he was whimpering, staring at the graves with a solemn face, as if it were his own family who'd passed away. And she could relate....as the tears threatened to pour and her throat clenched painfully, burning her, she felt as sad as if it were really her own family before her. She wanted to pull them out of the graves, take their deaths back, hold them to her, cry in their arms...she wanted them back..

It wasn't easy for him to be here. It had been months ago since this happened now. But it was still a really touchy subject. And this was the first time some one had actually come here with him. And in a way, it kind of made it harder for him. He usually came here to talk to them, and now, he had some one else there instead. And even if it was a really sore subject, he just wanted her to at least know what happened. It was just one of those things where you really needed some one to talk to about it. It wasn't much point in telling the villagers. Even if it felt as if they were always there, they already knew what happened, and what he needed was probably some one alive to talk to about it.
"Probably not what you expected huh? It happened a couple of months ago now. Our village was attacked. But I don't know by who. It happened during my sixteenth birthday. And around here, when you turn sixteen, you go trough something called a coming of age ceremony. So I wasn't in the village when it happened. But everyone else was, since they were preparing a feast for me once I got back. But when I came back, everyone was dead. I just can't see who would just go and attack a peaceful and friendly village like ours..."
He was clearly starting to break up himself right now. It was a really hard subject for him. And what made it worst was that most of the villagers were women and children. They had done nothing wrong. And if there was something they wanted in the village, the villagers wouldn't put up a fight for it. They would simply give it to them without making a scene. But on other hand. There was nothing to get from this village at all. They didn't hide away any valuable items or artifact. And they didn't have money or anything like that. They just lived off the woods and lived off farming. And on top of that, they all were like his family. They all treated him as if they had been their own. So to him, it had been like losing allot of parents at once. Probably sounded weird, but that's how it was. Everyone had taken responsibility and taken care of him all of this time. But the one who found him was the one that had named him and all. But there was usually some one else that had done the cooking. His foster mother wasn't the best cook, but she was good at basic cooking. And while he was little, one of the other women had been doing the diaper changing, since his foster mother usually got flustered and just couldn't do it. She wasn't used to taking care of a kid. So everyone had been taking care of him. So he wasn't used to being alone. And now he had been alone for months. And that was really getting to him.
"When I was still a baby, my real parents abandoned me in the woods, but I was found by the one I mentioned that looks just like you. And she always used to take me to this pound. It's one of my favorite spots, so that's why I decided to bury them all here..."

Duece howled up at the sky, whimpering, shifting on his paws uncomfortably. Annalesia couldn't hold back anymore, it hurt too much, she sunk onto her knees, her skirt spreading on the ground around her as she slumped down, her eyes wide as the tears began to fall. She blinked, rubbing at her eyes, salty tears sticking to her white eyelashes. Duece leaned into her, ducking his head and licking at her tears, whining, his front paw nudging at her thigh. She wrapped her arms around the dog, hiding her face in the fur of his neck, letting the tears rain from her eyes as she gave quiet cries.
All of those innocent women and children....selfess people at that to take in an abandoned boy...they were killed. Killed by a cold hearted bastard. Her violet eyes clenched tight in pain as she could imagine their bodies, scattered helplessly through the village, their screams echoing in her ears, begging for help. She didn't want to think about them anymore....didn't want to feel the pain that ached in her chest, a monster clawing out from the inside of her heart, attacking her.

He blinked a bit as he hear the two. They were actually crying to? At least the girl. The dog was more like mourning then crying. But, even if it was a really touchy subject and all, and he had just made a girl cry, he couldn't help but to smile a bit. This meant she without a doubt was a good person. Wiping away the few tears he had in his own eyes, he tried to gather himself a bit before speaking. He really wouldn't mind telling her more, about the more happy moments, and maybe even a few things his adoptive mother had told him and all. Some were still a bit heartbreaking, but in a more like good way really. And it was so nice to have some one there that he could speak with, that was still alive that is. But on other hand, it would be wrong to talk to her about it, since even if she didn't know him and all, it obviously still was sad for her.
"Sorry... Just haven't had anyone to talk to ever since then... Suppose I'm a bit too chatty about it. But it does feel a little better to be able to actually talk about it to some one. But maybe we should go back now? If you want to, I don't mind it if you use one of the houses. And if you want to leave, I will show you the way trough the woods tomorrow."
He was kind of hoping that she would stay, since he really didn't want to be alone again. But he was not ready to leave the village yet. He had nowhere else to go, and he knew of nothing outside these woods. So he could without a doubt not start a new life till he was completely sure about that he was ready for it. And so far, he was far from being ready. He would have to get over his loss and all, and such things took time. Why else would some one his age be staying here, even after losing everything he had ever known?

Annalesia sniffled, wiping away her tears with her fist, Duece licking the rest away when she pulled her head from his neck. She let out a choked smile and hugged the dog tight, whispering to him how much she loves him and she'll never leave him. She waited a few seconds as the pain slowly faded, leaving her with the comfortable emptniness. It was better than pain. She'd rather have nothing. She stood slowly, Duece doing the same instinctively, and her delicate pale hands flattened her dress's skirt, the wrinkles smoothing under her touch. She turned to the boy, her violet eyes meeting his, innocence pooling in her eyes. Her face scrunched sadly and she fought the urge to hug him, to hold him comfortingly like a loved one, to assure him everything would be alright. But she stood her ground, grabbing at her sleeves, tugging them nervously as her cheeks flushed a rosy hue. She shouldn't think such thoughts. After all, she barely knew the boy, "I will stay in the village with you, please? I'd rather not travel at the moment, after being lost and all...."

Kaito had to admit that he was somewhat surprised that she was asking to stay in the village with him. He certainly didn't mind, but didn't she have anyone back at home that was waiting for her? But oh well. That was completely up to her. If she really wanted to stay, he wouldn't say no. As long as she used one of the other homes. Since they didn't really know each other that well. And he really wasn't in the mood to ask her about herself right now, since she had just been crying over his story. Obviously something similar might have happened to her. He just hoped that she didn't have to go bury her own family and friends though. That would just be horrible. But he would ask her about that kind of stuff later. When he was sure that she wouldn't stop crying just like that.
He had lived like this for a while now, so even if it still hurt, he could still manage without crying. Even if it still happened. But oh well. Probably about time to head back now. And hopefully, to cheer her up, he gave a bit of a smile.
"Let's head back then. Just promise me that you won't make a mess. I been working hard on keeping things in shape in the village."
He said as he sounded allot more cheerful now than before, and started heading back. But he was making sure she was keeping up of course. He didn't want her to get lost or anything. Then he would be alone again.

Annalesia looked at his back, shocked and kind of insulted. Of course she wasn't going to make a mess. Who did he take her for? Just because she was raised by a dog doesn't mean she doesn't know how to take care of herself...Duece picked up on her irritance and let out a low growl in the boys direction, as if he were made the boy had upset her. Sometimes it's pretty creepy how he does that, it's like the Husky could always tell what's she's thinking and feeling. But then again, the dog did raise her though, so for him it shouldn't be too hard to guess. Duece has always been good on picking up on things like that. He's a crazy dog, but she owes her life too him. There'd been many times people had attacked her, calling a devil's child because of her appearence. She remembered one time when Duece almost died because a man easily three times Annie's size came after her one night when she was about five and Duece leapt at him from behind, but the man swung back with his hand, a knife going right into the poor dogs shoulder. But he'd bitten the man hard enough for him to run away...she remembered how she spent the next few days with the husky, laying beside him in that alleyway, comforting him, but on the fourth morning, the wound had simply disappeared, with no mark left behind as evidence. What's even wierder, Annie realized as she thought about....in all the years she'd know Duece since she was three....he hadn't age at all.....
Annie glanced over at Duece and he looked up at her innocently. What secrets did this dog hold?

Kaito gave a pout at the dog growling at him for upsetting Annie. He wasn't in the mood for a dog pointing it out. He was just making sure that she wouldn't make a mess. If she did, he would seriously throw her out and have her sleep in the barn instead.
"Yeah, yeah... But I just want to make sure. I been working myself to the bone to keep things clean. And I'm not just telling her, but I don't want to see any muddy paw prints all over either."
He would make sure to give Annie a towel or something that she could use to wipe the dogs paws off if the weather had been bad and all. And if she thought it was odd that her dog hadn't aged since she was a kid, wouldn't she find it even more odd that he was actually talking to it? And that wasn't because it was easy to tell what the dog was thinking. He could understand what it was saying perfectly well.
But oh well. For now it was back to the village. And if the two of them were still hungry he wouldn't mind heating up the rest of the stew. He wouldn't mind a bit more himself anyhow. And they have had a while to digest the food from before, and depending on how long they had been out here, they might be getting hungry again.
"You two want some more of the stew once we get back? There is still plenty left, and it would be a shame to just spill it out."

Annie's head tilted in confusion; was he seriously just talking to her dog? She thought she was the only one who does that...she glanced over her husky and he just looked up at her with those sweet little innocent crystalline eyes. The dog looked away from her, lifting his paw and glancing at the bottom as best he could. She almost laughed out loud, a dog self-conscious of the mess he'd make? She'd never seen that part of him before. Unless, of course, they were to leave no trace behind. He was a very well kept dog. Whether I am brushing him and giving him a bath, or he is licking himself; he is always clean. Mmm...speaking of baths....that sound amazing!
Despite how good that bath sounded....she could hear Duece's stomach growl at her, begging to be filled. Jeez, that animal never stopped eating! But she couldn't help that her mouth seemed to water a little at the thought of food....her tongue darting out and licking at her suddenly dry lips. The dog walking close beside her did the same in response, his tongue tracing along his snout.
