(XD We're on an uncharted Island. We;re heading to the port.
Oh and opalistic... what exactly happened to the original captain and crew? Did they mysteriously get eaten by wild animals or are we stranding their butts?) Vorian stretched out on the bow and stared up at the stars. His black hair waving gently in the sea breeze. |
((xDDD okkies then i'll wait here, be certain to notice me and my awesome ship when you board))
|
(@Contra: o.O that's a good question... meh, they have half a boat, surely they can find someone on the island who can control plants and has demon magic somewhere xD; )
Stephanie automatically barked out orders to the others, not caring whether they'd pay her any attention or not. She gave commands like, "Pull up the anchor! Loose the sails! Ready the cannons!" Well, she couldn't be expected to do all that hard stuff by herself, right? (*innocent* ;)) |
((lol demon magic rocks))
|
Vorian crossed his legs and stared at her with sarcastic half lidded eyes, his gaze seemed to convey without words the message. Really? You seriously expect me to do any of that? Well I certainly hope you weren't counting on my help too much because you will be very sorely dissapointed. Vorian raised one of his eyebrows as the thought occurred to him that he could threaten to make night blooming jasmine sprout out her ears. Vorian had to cover his snort of laughter with a cough as he visualized Stephanie with jasmine flowers blooming out of her ears.
|
Stephanie scowled at Vorian, who obviously was going to be as helpful as he'd always been, and glanced at Charm.
"Would you mind helping? It'd be a bit hard to get out of here if we had to wait for the tide to take us out, three hundred kilogram anchor and all." Stephanie shot Vorian a look that conveyed all the hate she could muster into one look, then left the wheel to start climbing the mast to loosen the sails. |
Vorian shifted into a more comfortable position and stuck his tongue out at her, looking like a particualrly large, and pale, persian cat. He had already done more than his share, and crew duties were just so... beneath him.
(He's only a slightly spoiled mercenary.) |
(( how hillarious ))
|
(Rofl, nice Contra :P)
|
"Don't worry, Steph," she glanced at Vorian with a frown, "I'll help you out, but before that..."
She looked out to the sea and with a gasp of terror, sarcastically screamed "VAMPIRE OVERBOARD!" as she used her demon magic to lift Vorian up and threw him into the water. |
Vorian floundered for a second, surprised by the fact that he was suddenly flying through the air, but then he shifted his position and arced gracefully through he air, landing on a convenient bed of solid seaweed that had not been there a second before. He stood slowly, his eyes deadly and pulled a singe rose from within his hair. He sent a dusting of it's pollen on the wind toward the hip and whispered.
"Alrune..." Wickedly sharp thorny vines burst from the wood deck of the ship, wrapping themselves around charms legs, giving her nasty cuts and dripping stinging venom into the wounds. Even as the thorns began embedding themselves in her legs, beautiful red roses bloomed all around the bush. Vorian lightly hopped back onto the deck and began wiping seaweed slime off his clothes. "You'll want to cut those off as soon as possible. Alrune, the rose I am named for, usually only grows on blood soaked battlefields and has developed a taste for human blood. Those cuts on your legs wont heal properly for weeks I'm afraid, it's a property of the venom the thorns secrete." |
"Wow, apparently you can't take a joke," Charm frowned in distaste, why did Vorian have to resort to such violent methods?
She looked down, just now actually noticing that the vines were starting to creep up her thighs. "Ah, hell," she cursed and then muttered to herself, "I can't afford to lose another life, I only have seven left!" That's right, she had been killed twice before by some very powerful people who had ganged up on her in the 1970's. Needless to say they were very surprised, and scared, when Charm just popped right back up again, her wounds totally healed. Anyway, back to the task at hand. Charm used her demon magic to form a barrier between the vines and her legs, completely removing them. She then jumped down and turned into cat form. She sat down and licked her bloody legs for a couple minutes before turning back. All of the cuts on her leg had been healed, leaving the faintest of bruises in their wake. "Demons aren't made of the same immune system as humans," Charm educated Vorian, "That venom of yours won't work on my body." She was a little pissed at how mean Vorian had been about it. She, herself, had to admit that she was just playing around with him, but this new development really made her angry. Putting her left hand palm up, she used the finger of her right hand to go around in a swirling pattern on her palm. As she raised her finger up, while still swirling, a shimmery, almost invisible air-like substance came started to appear. "I hope you enjoy karma," Charm stuck out her tongue before she blew the shimmery substance towards Vorian. It settled around him and disappeared, bad luck doesn't really show on the outside, just on what happens around.... Charm bent over laughing when a rope came loose, flying down and smacking Vorian in the face. Then the board Vorian was standing on broke and made him fall to the ground. The best part about this kind of magic, thought Charm with a grin, is that even if he tried to use his powers, he'd have little chance of making them work with all that bad luck around him! |
*ahem*
(sexy pirate lady that wants to join your crew waiting on the port) |
Vorian stared at charm, a look of disgust on his face.
"Joke? Are you aware of the fact that water, even sea water, is extremely painful to vampires? Your little "joke" would have been akin to throwing me into stomach acid. And bad luck?" Vorian sidestepped another rope. "Are you five? How you became an infamous pirate captain I'll never know." Vorian pulled a purple pouch out of his pocket and scattered essence of moonstone around his body. "Shatter." The silvery haze around vorian solidified and broke like a mirror, dispelling the curse Charm had put on him. "Karma is the punishment brought full circle on you by fate for ill deeds you commit. As I was merely retaliating for your juvenile and potentially lethal joke, your use of the word Karma only proves your ignorance." Vorian turned on his heel and made to go below deck, before turning back and gesturing to the purple pouch he had placed back in his belt. "Oh, to explain that, I have lived a long life and you are not the first trickster demon I've encountered. Your spells can be quite annoying so I had to consult a shaman and get the negating mixtures. Moonstone powder, especially because of a vampire's affinity for the night, will completely break most of your small to intermediate charms. So don't try it again." Vorian's eyes turned deadly. "There are far worse things than the blood rose." Vorian then turned and disappeared below deck. |
((I hate to be rude, guys, but;

Now in the interest of following the rules, I'm going to post the rest of my comment in the OOC Thread I apologize here and there if anything I say offends you.)) |
(If someone has a problem with it I'll change it. It doesn't look like godmodding to me, but everyone has their own defenition. To me, godmodding is when you take your character and force them to the forefront, making them the center of the entire RP and making the plot revolve around them. And finding creative ways for stuff to not affect you is what makes an RP fun. Like how Charm's immune system isn't affected by the venom. That's not Godmodding, that's ingenuity.)
|
Stephanie glanced down at Charm as she screamed about a vampire being overboard. She snorted when she pitched Vorian towards the sea, then stared as the rest happened.
Stephanie breathed a sigh, and began untying the sails again. "Magic people.. bah.." she muttered to herself. |
(( Thank you Contra ^_^ the way you got out of things was ingenuity too and you didn't god-mod at all in my perspective! Oh....and sorry, I didn't know your character would be hurt by mere sea water, I thought my character was just playing a joke on yours, my bad *puts hands up in surrender* ))
Charm was usually a trickster demon, but a small part of her was human, in a way, since it made her have feelings. Like, now, for instance, upon hearing that Vorian would have been pained by the water, Charm's ears went back and her eyes turned sad. She really wanted to make up for her little misunderstanding, so Charm turned into her cat form and trotted down below deck looking for Vorian. She looked through a multitude of rooms and finally found the one he was in. "Now to the only way that my demon pride will allow me to say sorry," she whispered to herself and bit her cheek. This would be very embarrassing, but if she wanted to show how sorry she was to Vorian, she'd have to go through with it. "Vorian," she called out his attention as she sat down at his feet and looked up into his face, "I have never before known that water is a weakness for vampires, therefore I am sorry for my rude prank. To show you how sorry I am, I will stay in this form until we make port. This, to cat demons, is the ultimate embarrassment, so I do hope that you'll accept my apology." Charm thought back to her days at sea. She had met many vampire pirates before and had always wondered why even the mention of water made them edgy, but had never asked. Most vampires she had met would have liked to keep their weaknesses out of possible enemy hands. |
(I had actually meant for him to be a true twilight style vampire at first, but they have so few weaknesses it's very close to god modding. So I decided a bit ago to make water a weakness, in addition to the sun draining his power. Since it's an RP set on the sea mostly this adds a bit of difficulty and makes it a bit more interesting. I'm not sure why miss catatonia or whatever didn't know of it, but in the game Bloodrayne pure vampires are killed instantly if they are dropped bodily in water, and Damphirs are just hurt by it. In the manga Rosario+vampire one of the vampire's only weaknesses is water, it like electrocutes them by draining their power and then backfiring it on them. And in the famous black and white movie Nosforatu, vampires could only be moved over water if they were in a coffin filled with graveyard soil.)
Vorian sighed and looked down at charm. "Yes, It's not something vampires tend to advertise. We instead propagate the false ideas of stakes and religious items and such. The idea that holy water is a weakness actually stems from the fact that it is in essence, water. Not the fact that it's blessed. Though not all breeds hold the same weaknesses, for we are as varied as humans are, but water is a fundamental one usually." |
Stephanie had finished untying and refastening the sails, which were now unfurled and straining in the wind that was blowing from the great expanse of blue, flat sea. Now Stephanie was standing in front of the thick, heavy chain that plunged from the deck of the ship into the dark water, holding the ship in place. She gazed down at where the anchor was with a sour expression. First Vorian wouldn't help, then Charm had vanished.
Stephanie glanced back at Yukina and Akemi with an expectant look. If someone didn't help out, she was going to throw a major fit. |
(( Yeah and in the anime Black Blood Brothers, the one weakness the vampire guy had was water; it burned his skin. He never died from it, but it injured him majorly! It's a good anime, if you haven't seen it and you like that kind of thing, I would suggest you to watch it ;) ))
"I understand that the religious weaknesses are false, since humans put the same myth to demons, but," Charms eyes grew wide, "Stakes don't kill vampires? That's one I never knew!" Charm knew that she had not known a lot about vampires, never having one in any of her crews in the past, but she hadn't known just how little she knew about them. Vorian's explanation made the cat in her curious and she wanted to know more now. She had the feeling that she'd have to go help Steph soon though since no one else was seeming to bother with it. She'd have to get the full story some other time. "Alright, I take it you need some time to rest," she smiled at Vorian, "I'll go help Stephanie." With that, she ran away and up back to the deck of the ship. "Hey Steph," she yelled to get her attention before continuing in a normal tone, "Due to some complications, I won't be able to work in my human form, but I can use my demon magic to help with most things." Then, she used her demon magic to grasp the anchor and pull it up and onto the ship. |
hi, so can i be a pirate? pretty plz
|
(Hmm, that anime sounds interesting :D I'll try watching it after Tsubasa ^^
@Athel: Sure~! Just send me a PM with your characters profile, and I'll talk to you more about it later ^^) Stephanie blinked. "You can't transform? But why? What complications? What? Huh?" Stephanie quickly grabbed one of the sides of the drawn anchor, and helped to heave it onto the deck. Then she turned expectantly back to Charm, waiting for an answer. |
Good thing she was in cat form, because Charm's cheeks would have been tomato red right now.
"Well," she paused, trying to think of a suitable excuse other than the fact that she was apologizing to the vampire that wasn't helping Steph out, "I used a lot of my energy in a short amount of time on that island, so I am recovering fully before we go on land again." Charm gulped at her ridiculous lie, although she had said it in a serious voice. Lying became easier when one had been alive for almost a century. She just didn't want her fan to think little of her, since this was the first time she'd ever apologized to someone. Usually, Charm was a bloodthirsty pirate, and those types didn't say they were sorry for anything. It had probably been the human family that had taken her in when she was a baby that had given her the almost human emotions she had now. |
"Oh - ok!" Stephanie said with a grin. She didn't suspect a thing. "Well then, I'll get us out of here, and in the meantime, you can recover!"
With that, Stephanie ran to the wheel and directed it toward the open ocean; a strong wind suddenly picked up, pushing the little ship away from the strange island as if it were encouraging them all to leave. Stephanie glanced back at the island, feeling sure she'd fogotten something.. then she noticed her old captain. "Oh shit," Stephanie muttered. She turned back to face the ocean, willing the wind to blow even stronger, the sooner to get away from the old pirate who was glaring at her back with eyes sharp as daggers. |
