Alyx walked along side the blushing goth for a while, and before they came to the pizza place, he had to ask, his curiousity getting the better of him. "What does that word mean? The one they called you?" He knew it was nothing nice by the tone of that boys voice, but that didn't mean he knew the meaning of it. |
(O.O You've NEVER had Lou Malnati's Pizza?! Oh, living in Arizona explains it. Lou's is the BEST pizza in all of the chicago-land area. )
And then he had to go and ruin the perfect quietness. Nocturne looked to the ground, her sadness and anger getting to the better of her. "A slut is someone who goes around with many men, having sex with them for money. Or she just has sex with a lot of guys. Also known as a bitch, a whore a harlot, a prositute. That's what it means to be a slut." |

Alyx stared down at the ground. "Oh." Was all he could manage, sure now that he shouldn't have asked. It obviously upset her quite a bit, and he felt terrible for questioning her. "But, you're not any of those things." He said, obviously confused, again, about why those boys would say false things about a princess. |

"Yeah." Nocturne led her way up the steps and into the building... "I know. But preconcieved notions create rumors that die hard." The goth looked to the price. "It's not easy being green in a land where everyone is white..." |

Alyx shrugged. He supposed that what she said was true. He didn't really know of things as rumors. The only stories he had heard had been about his father, but, then again, all of those had been true. Turning the subject to a lighter side, he asked, "So..what is this pizza you keep talking about?" |
Nocturne smiled, happy to be going to a happier subject. "Why Prince Alyx! Didn't you know that surprises make life so much more entertaining??" She lightly kissed him on the cheek and pulled him inside.
Inside Lou Malnati's it was dimly lit and classy. The smell of frshly-baked piza dough wafted through the air as the two walked up to a counter where a young man, about there age was sitting. He had dorky glassesand a face that looked like pepperoni pizza with all the acne on it. "Welcome to Lou's." He said, his voice monotone and bored. "How may I help you??" "We'd like to order two large sausage pan pizzas two go. But can we sit down for the moment and get something to drink while we wait?" Nocturne smiled and the guy sighed. "Sure. Go sit down and I'll get Sherri to come your way in a minute." He pointed to the area with tables. "Have a thrilling day." "Thank you." Nocturne led Alyx to one of the tables where they sat down. |
Alyx let her lead him into the old building, and a smile lit his face when he smelled a heavenly scent. He didn't know if that smell was what this pizza thing was, but if it tasted anything like the smell, it was sure to be heavenly.
He sat down across from Nocturne on an overstuffed chair. "So, is that smell pizza?" He was very curious, and although he was never one for surprises before, he kind of liked Nocturnes idea of a surprise. |
"Yes sir, you are smelling the best pizza around." Nocturne took a deep breath in and sighed. "We're going to go see my Dad, that's why I bought two pizzas. He forgets to eat sometimes...." Nocturne smiled at Alyx. "So tell me about you- I mean our world, about Spook Town and the land of the bloodmooners. I want to know everything."

Alyx's heart lept into his throat. Her father? Why, you only took boys you wanted to marry to meet your family! Alyx began having a panic attack. Sure, he liked this girl, but, she was the Princess of Spook Town, and he was the Crown Prince of the Bloodmooners. Surely she wasn't serious?
But his panic calmed down as he recalled things about his home. "Well," He began, calling up things that wouldn't scare the pants off of her. "it's not so bad of a place if you ignore everything that goes along with it. I'm sure you know about the longstanding hatred between our countries? Well, all of that started because of a family fued. Your great great great great great great grandfather refused to allow his son to marry my great great great great great great grandfather's daughter. But the pair were so much in love, and had actually been promised to one another upon their births, to tie the realms together forever. But then, your gre-, his name was Rosenfeld, he was told by another suitor to Selene, my grea- my grandmother, that she was going to marry him instead of Rosenfeld's son, Roman. Well, that just was not true, but Rosenfeld believed him and forced his son to marry another bride, and Selene married, not that suitor, but another one. From that day on, our relams have forever been split, each one wanting to take over the other, but neither being able to." Alyx's face grew dark. "Until my father. He knew that your mother, the Queen, had you. You...you are, in the eyes of the bloodmooners, the illegitamate heir. Because your mother had you with your human father. She didn't have an affair," He added quickly at the look on her face, "She was a widow. And one day, your mother just...left." He shrugged. "I can tell you more if you have questions." |
Nocturne listened with great interest. It was interesting to hear about her past, about Alyx's past... It made her smile, but it made her worry a great deal. "Alyx," the princess' voice was small, scared. "I-I don't think I can do it, I don't know what I'm supossed to do to fix this mess left for me. I don't know how to rule a country, nor do I know how to be a princess. I don't even know how to do a french a guy! This is all so much... I'm so scared..." Nocturne ran a hand through her hair and a waitress came with two glasses filled with water.
"This is all so much." |
Alyx smiled reassuringly. "I can teach you all that stuff. It's not that hard." He reached his hand over across the table and put it on Nocturnes own hand. "Really." He gave a small chuckle and said, "I've been trained to do that stuff ever since I was born."
He tried to be as reassuring as he could, but coming from someone who was supposed to be her enemy, he didn't think it helped much. |
"You can? Teach me? Wow, thanks Alyx." When he reached for her hand, her heart fluttered, which was so weird. She couldn't tell though, that she was blushing a terribly cute pink colour, that seemed to make her face come alive. "Oh wow."
And at that moment, Nocturne's name was called for the pizza order. |
Alyx grinned. "Of course I can. And I'm sure you can learn it easily." When Nocturnes name was called Alyx stood and took the pizza boxes himself, so she didn't have to carry them.
"First lesson. Ladies, espcially princesses, don't carry their own things. Except fans, mirrors or babies." He smiled and waited to her to show the way to her father. |
"Thanks again Alyx. I'm gonna owe you." She stood up to get the pizzas, but it seemed the prince was faster than her, and already got the pizza. She blushed when he told her of the first lesson.
"Wow. That's pretty different than what I'm used to. Is that only in public, or can you carry stuff in the privacy of your home?" She started walking out the building, holding the door for Alyx. |
Alyx thought about her question for a moment. "It's usualy everywhere, but you can change that once you're Queen. Although you will always have servants trying to take it from you." He laughed as he remembered his own slew of personal servants. "They always mean well. It's just not...typical for nobility to carry their own things." He shrugged. "As long as there aren't any guests in your palace at the time, I'm sure the servants wouldn't mind you carrying your own things. If that's what you wish."
He stepped out through the door with the pizzas and said over his shoulder, "Oh, and since you are a Lady, ignoring the fact that you are a princess, you never touch doors. Unless it's to your personal bathroom or bed chamber." He winked and continued, "But since my hands are full, I shall have to allow it." |
"You can't do everything SuperBoy. That's why I be polite and open the door." She led the way to her Dad's office. "So what else do I get learn Prince Alyx??"

Alyx thought about her question for a moment, then said, "Well, you will have to learn ettiquette. Not just at meal times, but at Court. And things like how people address you, and how you repsond to their blessings and such. Oh, and you will have to learn to dance the traditional dances, both slow and fast." He caught the exasperated look on her face, and smiled, laughing.
"Well, we will just start one at a time. Maybe you shouldn't know just how much you need to know." He winked, then began to examine the room around him, when a voice, coming from seemingly nowhere, spoke. "Hello my love. I've been waiting for you." The boys voice was tender yet somehow scary. A ghost of a shadow shifted a chair in the far corner of the room, turning it to face Nocturne and Alyx. "Your father went out for a bit, and I said I'd watch the office. I'm glad you came." The boy stood, revealing himself to be rather tall, roughly six foot four, with trimmed brown hair. He wore faded black jeans which seemed too small around his waist, but far too big around the feet and calves. He wore a shirt that had a pentagram, looking like something in that shape had been moved after a great amount of blood had been spilled upon it. He moved forward swiftly, making no noise, but covering the short distance extremely quickly. He took Nocturne's hand and raised it to his lips, kissing it. Then with his still shadowed eyes drank in her face in an almost creepy fashion. Alyx was overcome with a sudden jolt of jealousy at watching this, and cleared his throat, putting his arm casually around her shoulders, staring at this boy with loathing burning in his eyes. |
At Alyx's smile, Nocturne tried to dance a little, it seeming awful and off-key. "I-I can dance. Wait, no I can't. It's an epic failure darling! So that's going to take awhile." Nocturne laughed. "Yeah, taking things one at a time will be a good idea. But with you, that's a whole other story." Nocturne smiled and blushed, finally noticing that they were at her at her Father's firm.
The princess spun around, trying to figure out where the voice came from. "I don't know you, I don't." She said, looking to Alyx. Who she was trying to reassure- Alyx or herself, was truly a mystery. When she saw the inverted pentagram, she stiffened up and backed away. (OOC: I can change that too). Nocturne stood in fear as the boy put his lips to her hand. It was weird, and not cool. (It would have been cooler if Alyx kissed her hand. It would have been romantic and sweet and she would have giggled and blushed and kissed him on the lips and so many other things....) But this guy was creepy. She felt as though she reconized him, but she didn't, in a way. Quickly the goth pulled her hand away and tried to rub the memory away... "Where's my Dad. I don't know you, and I don't think he does either. Where is he??" |
"Oh come on my darling! You know me." The boy stepped into a ray of sun that beamed into the room from a rather dusty window. If not for the seemingly glaring look of lust, he would be oddly handsome. He had silvery gray eyes, and his black shaggy cut hair was partially hidden by a backwards hat. There was a sarcastic smile on his thin lips as he continued to stare at Nocturne. "It's your true and only love, Maddox."

"I don't know you," Nocturne repeated once again. The nagging feeling that she did know him kept tugging at her brain, but the witch ignored it. But then he said it. Maddox. And then, everything came rushing back. Her eyes widened and she gasped as she felt her knees go weak as she collapsed to the office floor.
4 years earlier. She sat in the forest alone, away from everyone else. Sure this was supposed to be a fun family picnic with her cousins, but no-one was paying any attention to her, once again. This was the reason that she hated coming out to stupid boring Dullsville. The only thing good about this trip was that she could spend some time with Maddox without talking to a shrink about having imaginary friends. Nocturne wasn't crazy, she was perfectly sane 'cause Maddox was real. And she was waiting for him. "Did you wait for me long??" Maddox asked, as he appeared as if from nowhere. He was always changing his appearance, today with black hair and a few red highlights, and a gray fedora. Nocturne smiled, her heart leaping. "Not really Maddox. What're we going to do today?" Her excitement was so unapparent. "I want to show you a spell I made up. Would you like to see it??" Nocturne nodded, her eyes fixed on his hands. Before he could start though, she could hear her father and mother calling for her. That was one of the last times she had seen Maddox, because right after that trip, her mother was diagnosed with cancer. And now he was here before Nocturne, in the flesh. "No, no way. Holy goddess, this cannot be. You were supposed to be imaginary... No fucking way. Oh shit." Nocturne was shaking, so terrified she was. |
"I'm not imaginary. Nor have I ever been." He glanced a smirk over at Alyx, then turned back to Nocturne. "I've always been real. You know that land where you have gone recently? And where he is from?" Another glance at Alyx. "I'm from there. You summoned me with your heart. You have always loved me, and I you. We were meant to be together, and now we can be. You have come into your place in my, our, world. Together, we can rule that entire world, and cast out demons like him." The last words were filled with venom and directed at Alyx. Anyone who lived in the other world long enough knew who Alyx was.
"And did he tell you Nocturne? That your handsome prince has accepted the crown of the Bloodmooners." His gaze was matched in fury by Alyxs own. How dare he! Alyx glared at Maddox with a newfound hatred. He would not be made a fool of, and if need be, he would splatter this pathetic peice of flesh all over this office. |
"I'm not stupid Maddox, I know of the land of which you speak. I think I would have figured that out from the inverted pentagram on your shirt." Nocturne's voice filled with sarcasm and hatred. She hated that the one she relied on so much in the past, now the sight of him made her heart fill with that sickening dread. It was horrible, that Alyx and Maddox seemed to hate one another with a passion. And she knew sooner or later she was going to have to decide between her dark loves. But then he went to far. He called Alyx a demon.
"SHUT THE FUCKING HELL UP! OK! I don't want to hear your opinion of Alyx, and Alyx I don't want to hear a a word from you right now. I can what both you stupid boys are thinking, I have telepathy. Change that horrid inverted pentagram off your shirt before my father sees it, and make your hair a tad bit normal. And your clothes too. And Alyx," She looked to the beautiful boy that made her feel so special." "we have to talk later" There was a bit of desperation in her voice. And then she heard the elevator ring from outside the office. It could only mean one thing. "Oh crap. He's coming!" |
Alyx crossed his arms in a pouting fashion. He wouldn't be treated like some dirty shoe, and he slightly resented being ordered around by Nocturne. But before he could voice his opinion on that matter, a man whom Alyx assumed was Nocturnes father appeared in the small room.
"Hello there Maddox. Ah! There's my princess!" He enveloped Nocturne in a hug, then finally noticed Alyx. "And how is this strapping young lad?" He winked at Nocturne, then fixed a stern fatherly gaze upon Alyx. "My name is Alyx, sir. I'm just visiting Dullsville, and your daughter here was nice enough to show me around town." His voice was strong and confidant as he used his noblity training. He knew it was very important to make a good impression on a girls father. |
"Dad!" Nocturne said, surprised to see him come in so quickly. He seemed... oh what was the word?... happy. It was unusual for him, because he was always fighting with Nocturne's aunt, or doing so much legal paperwork and ecetera. So it was nice to see him smiling. "Hi Dad," she whispered as the goth was enveloped in a big hug. "It's nice to see you."
"Ummm," Nocturne didn't know what to say about Alyx... It was forgotten that sooner or later Daddy dearest would have to know about Alyx, and all the shit that was going on. "Yeah, I was showing Alyx around. That's all. And he had never tried Lou's Pizza before, so I thought we could get some." Nocturne smiled. "Dad, how do you know Maddox?" The princess asked, as four of them sat down for pizza. |
