Winter walked along the forest path as his clear blue eyes searched the land ahead of him for any other signs of wolves. His white fur coat shone lightly from the light coming from the moon. His body was strong and lean from years of fighting of predators and hunting n his own. His steps had a purpose as he walked forward t his goal, when that goal would come though he had no idea.

After awhile he approached a clearing that had a stale scent of wolves but knew from surroundings that any wolves near by had long passed. In the front of the clearing was a den and large rock which he guessed where the alpha would be and other dens were found on the side of the land as well. A river ran threw the back of the clearing for which any wolves could drink. “This place could work as a place to try and start a pack..for now anyway." He said to himself before walking slowly onto the rock and letting out a howl to the moon letting the world know his intentions.

(This should work for now; if you wish for them to leave the clearing or introduce more characters just tell me.)

The piercing howl that came from a short distance away hit a pair of wolves' ears. They were finishing a fawn they had stumbled upon. The pup looked up at the older wolf, "Think it'll be safe?" He asked, tail wagging. The female nodded, "I'm hoping so, Paytah."

Both wolves were russet, though with a few differences. The tip of Paytah's ears and tail were black and his muzzle had a splash of white and grey on it. He had indigo blue eyes that always seemed to gleam with excitement. Raff on the other hand had grey on her left front paw, and a few brown spots on her muzzle and ears. She watched the younger wolf's excitement, her amber eyes questioning why he seemed excited to meet strangers.

"Come on let's go!!!" Paytah barked and ran in a few circles before running off in the direction of the howler.

"Paytah!!" Raff shouted and chased after him. He was almost an adult wolf, and a bit faster than Raff already. The pup ran ahead of Raff and into the clearing, looking at the white wolf from where he stood. He wasn't any kin of Raff, though she raised the pup since she found him wandering lost and considered him her own.

Winter stood on the rock, his eyes gazing at still surroundings watching for any sounds or signs of other wolves.When suddenly he saw a small russet colored pup rush into the clearing without asking permissible.Though he felt the pup may be too young know of the misquote for pack life.Winter smiled and looked down at the wolf. "Hello there I am Winter." He said kindly introducing himself to young pup. " May I ask your name?"As he waited for an response he looked for what he guessed might be pups parent but found none. A little curious His looked back at Paytah waiting for an response.

"Uh...I'm...ummm...I'm Paytah." He smiled up at the large white wolf, "So...what are you doing around here? Do you have...what was it called again...a..a pack?" The young pup was shaking with nervousness and excitement, having not met another wolf besides Raff in a long time.

Winter gave a friendly smile to relax the nervous pup. " Not yet, I just found this place." he replied to Paytah. "Though I'm hoping to find wolves to join or at least some company for awhile." He than looked around for any signs of the pups mother and seeing no one wondered if he was like him and had also lost its family.He than looked at Paytah." Are your parents here or perhaps someone that looks over you?" he asked Paytah kindly.

The pup's tail was wagging excitedly at the mention of who was watching over him, "Yeah yeah yeah... Raff is slower than me, but she'll be here soon. She found me when I was small, real small." His smile widened a bit and turned at the sound of Raff calling his name.

"I'm over here!!" He howled back and looked up at Winter, "You'll like Raff, she's nice. Real nice." He started to run in circles before falling onto his rump and shook his head.

Raff came into view but her pace slowed down drastically when she saw Winter. She was trying to size up the scene and soon was near the white male, "Paytah, come here." She was a bit nervous, not sure how the stranger would react to the pup or her.

"Why? He's nice!!" Paytah pouted and looked up at Winter, "Tell her you're nice..please?"

Winter smiled as he looked up at the female wolf standing near Paytan before responding. " Don't worry I'm not upset." he said calmly to her." I understand he mind of pups by now and I mean no harm to either of you." He was curious however why neither howled for permission to enter before approaching but decided it didn't matter.After all its not he actually had a pack right now.

"So I take it you are now taking this territory as your own?" Raff asked a bit curiously as Paytah obediently sat by her side, tail thumping against the ground loudly, "If so, can we join?" He asked quickly, only to have his ear bitten by Raff, "Paytah, don't be rude."

He smiled and chuckled softly at the enthusiastic Paytan than answered Raf's question." Yes, no other wolves have been here for a long time so I deicded to claim this place and try to make a pack." Though he did think he should mark the border sometime to be safe.He than looked at Paytan and smiled " You both may join if you would like." He replied to him happily.

"Yay!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!" Paytah yipped and was jumping up in down joyously before remembering that he had to listen to Raff, "Raff....can we join?" He sat down and looked up at Raff, tail wagging slowly and nervously.

"We'll see..." Raff told him and looked back at Winter, "It depends on if we can trust him or not."

Winter watched the two wolves interact as he sat down on the rock. His ears up, listening for any sound of other wolves and to pay attention to the his current guest at the moment. He dipped his head respectfully than replied. "Its understandable that your cautious, in any case your welcome to stay and go as you want." He said kindly to her.

"Thank you for your offer." Raff dipped her head back to him in respect. It had been a while since she had to use pack rankings and what not so she was still a bit rusty.

"Please, can we stay? It's not like we even have anywhere to stay..." Paytah whimpered.

Winter smiled at her as she dipped her head back."No problem its the least I can do."He said as he began to step off the rock and stretched.He than titled his head as he watched the two wondering what made her so cautious but shrugged and began to head to the river for a drink.

"Yay!! Thanks!" Paytah smiled up at Winter and turned to go try to play with Raff when Winter left. He pounced on her slowly swishing tail, nipping at it as she moved it out of his reach, letting him play as she laid down where she was.

Winter smild than lowered his maw to drink from the river a moment as he gathered his thoughts.Than once finished with his drink he walked over to others. " I'm going to mark the borders. Feel free to any food or water while I'm gone." He said to her before heading out.

Raff nodded, thanking him for his kindness and swished her tail out of the way of Paytah's attack to it. She got up and headed over to a patch of long grass,laying down on it and deciding that this would be a good place for a small nap, "Paytah, stay near me. I don't want you running off and causing trouble." She warned the energetic pup.

"Fine." He grumbled and sat down near her, cleaning his paws now.

Winter returned a moment later and saw Raf resting and smile before he went to the rock and sat down as he gazed over his territory when his stomach gave a small rumble. He than gave a curious glance at his visitors. " I'm going go out hunting. Do you any of you wish to join me?" he asked them before going out to hunt.

Paytah ran over to Winter smiling, "I'll join you!" He looked over to where Raff was resting and then back up at Winter, "I'm still hungry."

Winter smiled down at the young Paytah than looked over at the resting Raff. " Would Raff mind you hunting with me?" he asked him not wanting to upset the female wolf as he gazed over her for a moment than looked at the excited pup.His ears lifted some as he heard steps of what may be potential prey.

Paytah pouted, looking over to Raff before looking up at Winter again, "She shouldn't mind..." He smiled up a bit innocently, hoping the male wouldn't push too far into it all, "Come on, lets go before everything gets away."

Winter gave a small smile "Alright if yo say so." He said to eager pup than faced the direction oof where he heard prey come from."Follow me than." He said to Paytah before running towards his hunting grounds.

Paytah smiled, happy that the older wolf didn't try to make him ask Raff, knowing that she still didn't really trust the white wolf yet. He didn't understand why, he found him to be nice towards him, "So what are we after?" He asked as he ran behind the larger wolf, his tail high in the air from all the excitement.

Winter came up to a spot behind a bush and raised his head as he sniffed for any signs of prey than replied to Paytah."What do you think you can manage?"He watched a group of deer walk by to graze as he was perfectly still and picked out one he thought would be the weakest.

"Um... rabbits, baby deer....anything smaller than a baby deer....yeah." He nodded, agreeing with himself and looked up and around, "Why...what do you smell?" He asked curiously.

" A group of deer is near us." He said to Paytah watching them intently." I can't be sure if they have any young with them though."He than looked over to Paytah for a moment to see if could handle this hunt.
