The Rabbit stood still as he cracked his whip, finding that the Cheshire Cat wasn't looking his friendliest at the moment. Not that he ever really looked friendly. "I suppose it is." she stated simply in agreement. At his question, though, all the images around her seemed to leave her mind for once the entire walk through the maze. "And why would you want to help me, Chess? I do believe you 'serve' the Queen, for what little meaning that has, do you not?" The voice he made his offer in gave her the urge to accept it willingly, but she knew better.

Remaro 07-07-2009 03:37 PM

Again he laughed softly, using his other hand to grab the end of the whip and slowly coil it around his arm. Her comment he found amusing, however, when she suggested that he were a servant to the Queen, an angry glare flashed across his features. His hands dropped to his sides as he took a step closer to the White Rabbit, smirking coldly as he did.
"I 'serve' no one White Rabbit, it would be more convenient for your health, if you remembered that. As for my reasons? It is simple really, I am bored, and helping you will hopefully anger the Queen, giving me more excitement to my life. That, and out of all the inhabitants of this wretched Hell Hole, you probably are the most interesting, not idiotic like the March Hare or her friend..." He commented casually.

Arc Angel 07-07-2009 03:50 PM

The White Rabbit found herself smiling at his threat. "Well, well, if I didn't know any better, I'd tell Queeny where your allegiance truly lies." she said rather emotionlessly, though the smiled stayed on her face. "But I won't. I happen to find you quite interesting yourself.. which is why I'll accept your offer. Though I'm not sure how you intend to help me.." Her gaze then narrowed a bit, realizing exactly where her allegiance did lie, as opposed to his. The Rabbit would have to watch her back around this one.

Remaro 07-07-2009 04:01 PM

He raised a skeptical eyebrow at he comment, letting the smirk broaden across his features.
"Somehow, I thought you would say that. Just remember, I could always lie to the Queen, people have a tendancy to believe me, I could have her torture you for information about sweet little Alice..." He muttered, eyes softening very slightly at the mention of the girl's name. "Good to know...As for our escape, just think, what is all this? Illusions. And what is one of my well known talents? Illusions." He answered each question, glancing at the ones that filled the maze. His eyes settled on one of Alice, glaring before destroying the illusion with one of his own, though it took concentration and energy.

Arc Angel 07-07-2009 04:17 PM

The White Rabbit contained a shiver at this threat. She knew she wouldn't be able to release information about Alice even if she wanted to, which she wouldn't if she could, and it would only be a painful experience for her. "I don't doubt that." she stated simply and somewhat coldly. Yes, she would need to remember that he would be one of the many to find amusement in her being tormented, funny he would bring such a thing up. She had just accepted his help, and she was starting to doubt that she wanted it anymore. The Rabbit relaxed a bit more as the image of Alice was destroyed, looking around at the rest of these illusions the Queen surrounded her in. "Yes, well, you can get through the illusions. What about the maze? The path changes constantly."

Remaro 07-07-2009 04:30 PM

He nodded his head in approval at this, moving so he could circle her for a few seconds, before finally coming to a stop in front of her once again. It really was fun to watch her. To imagine what she might be thinking about him, and about others. Most likely she believed she couldn't trust him. This was true, yes, but he was probably more willing to help her out than others. Glancing to her, he smirked when he saw the Rabbit relaxing once the Alice image was destroyed. "Well my little Rabbit, this is a maze, I believe we're meant to keep walking until we find an exit." He answered with a smirk, beginning to head down one of the paths.

Arc Angel 07-07-2009 04:38 PM

The White Rabbit stayed still as Chess circled her, not quite sure as to why he was doing this, but not minding. For some reason or another. This brought a question to her mind, something she had been thinking about earlier. "Don't call me little! I've been around as long as you have." she said somewhat stubbornly. It annoyed her greatly how most in the Queen of Hearts' Court called her 'little'. Usually she wouldn't voice her opinion on this, but with Chess, she felt she could. "I also have one more question for you.." she said softly, following him down the path he had chosen. "When I arrived, I happened to catch a bit of yours and the Queen's discussion. You suggested an alternative to be put in the maze instead of me.." she said, looking at him questioningly. It wasn't exactly a question, but this confused her.

Remaro 07-07-2009 04:44 PM

He couldn't stop the light chuckle that sounded from his lips as the White Rabbit stubbornly snapped at him. He didn't look back at her, but shrugged as he walked. "So we're the same age? I'm still better than you in most aspects which is why I call you little. I'll stop when you beat me at something...Or you grow a couple of inches." He answered teasingly before stiffenign slightly at her next 'question'. The Cheshire Cat refused to stop walking though as he remained silent for a few, brief moments.
"Did I? I think you misheard me Rabbit, why on earth would I suggest something so stupid?" He answered quickly in a slightly colder tone.

Arc Angel 07-07-2009 04:58 PM

The White Rabbit frowned. How rude. As always, though, what had she expected? Sighing, she continued on behind him. The Rabbit smiled a bit, seeing him stiffen if only a little as he went silent at her question. "I won't believe your lying. You may be quite the smooth talker, but I have good hearing, and I know what I heard." she replied simply, meeting his cold voice. Perhaps she would tease him a bit. Yes, that sounded nice. Once he told the truth, of course. "You've already told me that you think I'm more interesting than others here, so I'm not giving up on this until I get an answer. Why were you trying to help me?"

Remaro 07-07-2009 05:06 PM

He raised an eyebrow of annoyance, hand twitching as he played with the end of the whip on the same arm. "You won't have such good hearing if the Queen conveniently decides to tear those pretty little ears from your head." As he said this, he glanced over at the White Rabbit, letting a bright, cheerful smile flicker over his face that didn't go with his threat. "I told you Little Rabbit, I didn't try to help you, you really should try to understand that, if you don't, we'll end up having a very bad disagreement." He answered slyly before continuing walking forwards, not looking at her anymore.

Arc Angel 07-07-2009 05:15 PM

The White Rabbit saw his hand going to his whip, and almost got scared for a moment. Almost. This little act of his wasn't gonna work with her, and whether or not he wanted to admit it, she knew what he had said. "You would try to defend me then as well." she said softly, her voice not as cold as his, but almost teasing. "Well, to avoid the argument, admit what I know is true. You tried to help me. Is that so bad?" she said, now in an almost hurt tone. This guy was really bugging her at this point. Is something wrong with helping me? What is his problem? Sighing in frustration, she got quiet, not looking forward to his reaction. The hand on his whip intimidated her a little, and the cards had taken any sort of weapon she had had.. as usual, when she came before the Queen.

Remaro 07-07-2009 05:21 PM

Letting out a snarl, he spun round, releasing the end of the whip so he could grab the White Rabbit by the shoulders. Snarling again he tried to pin her against the walls, not caring if his claws pricked her or something. "Let's get this straight bunny girl! I help no one. I may make things easier for them at times, but trust me, by the end of it they end up wishing I'd never got involved. The same goes for you!" He glared viciously before finally looking away, letting go of her. "If anyone even thought I was helping someone...Reputation over...Punishments..." He mumbled to himself.

Arc Angel 07-07-2009 05:27 PM

Suddenly, the White Rabbit wished she hadn't pushed him so far, wincing as his claws pricked her skin. She glared at him, for what it was worth, but stayed quiet for a few moments. "My interest in you is gone. Your just like your so called Queen, and everyone else her for that matter. A joke! Your reputation? That's ridiculous.. and punishments? Since when do you care about punishments?" she looked at him as she spoke, rather disappointed, but again, had she expected any better? "You helped me, and we both know it." She brushed past him, not wanting to put up with this anymore. Not the Queen, not this maze, not these illusions, and at the moment, certainly not him.

Remaro 07-07-2009 05:32 PM

He watched her brush past him, and struggled for a few moments. Finally he gave up and let the grin spread steadily over his face. Silly little Rabbit. She should have remembered two things. Firstly, never trust the Cheshire Cat, for he can make you believe what ever he wants. Secondly, never turn your back to him. Although, he decided to ignore the second rule as he managed to gain control over his voice so he wouldn't laugh if he opened his mouth. Even he had to admit, that had been a good performance, she really believed he cared about what happened to him if he did something wrong. Shrugging slightly, he placed a hand on the White Rabbit's shoulder for a second, keeping his claws off her. "Fine, if you think I'm so ridiculous, then I'll find my own way out, and leave you to wander around aimlessly." He answered, ready to turn away.

Arc Angel 07-07-2009 05:40 PM

The White Rabbit paused momentarily, turning to look at the Cheshire Cat. Her face was showed a different expression from just moments ago, the coldness gone, and something along the lines of confusion and hurt now showed. "If that's all you have to say, why did you stop me?" she asked coldly, looking up at him. "You've hurt me, and made it obvious that you don't want to help me, so why have you stopped me again?" she asked, the coldness gone, almost a hurt tone again. After a moment, she let out a sigh and turned to leave. This was hopeless and she knew it. He wouldn't help her, though she had heard so earlier, which just confused her. If he insisted on being so mean to her, she'd leave. He could find his own way out, like he wanted to and as he said, she'd probably wander around aimlessly until either dying of hunger and thirst or finally finding an exit

Remaro 07-07-2009 05:54 PM

A startled expression flared over his features as he stared in puzzlement at the White Rabbit. Yes, he knew she was also pretty good at tricking people, but surely he could guess if it was fake or not. He tilted his head slightly as he listened to her, letting his hand fall to his side while he remained silent. Finally though he shook his head slightly, smiling softly.
"I never said I didn't want to assist you in getting out of here... Just that I wasn't helping you earlier. You really tend to use the wrong words you see, search for something different and perhaps you'll get the meaning right. Come on, the exit is normally always the left." He chuckled softly as he began to walk forwards again, acting as if nothing had happened.

Arc Angel 07-07-2009 06:09 PM

The White Rabbit only sighed as she again followed after the Cheshire Cat. She was not content with this sudden change of mood from him, nor should she be. "This is what I get for living among the mad.." she whispered to herself, frowning. "Can you just answer one more question? Please?" she asked, hoping he'd agree to it. He puzzled her greatly. First of all, he had asked for a replacement instead of her to go into this maze, which she considered help. But she had not missed the amused look he had given her when she went inside. Then, somehow he went in after her, for who knows what reason, and asked to assist her. Then when she mentioned him giving her help, he got angry and hurt her. And now.. he's helping again. She sighed again, completely frustrated with Chess now, and just wanting to get out of here.

Remaro 07-07-2009 06:15 PM

Chess glanced over his shoulder briefly to flash the White Rabbit a quick smirk. Yes, it was easy to see that the Cheshire Cat was enjoying his game, simply by the one smirk that quickly vanished from his face to be replaced by a blank, emotionless expression. He slowed down though to walk beside the White Rabbit as he tilted his head slightly to the side again.
"If you promise not to start spouting rubbish, and not to start yelling at my answer, then go ahead and shoot." He answered, voice swiftly becoming soft and silky once again. It could be said, he was rather curious about what she wanted to ask him now.

Arc Angel 07-07-2009 06:22 PM

The White Rabbit took a deep breath. She hadn't been expecting him to actually agree to it, but did not waste time in thinking about it. "You've harmed me, assisted me, and confused me today.. and I'm rather sick of talking to you with these constant mood swings. Just.. tell me. Do you prefer harming me.. or assisting me?" The Rabbit had replaced the word helped with assisted, simply because he had, and she didn't want to restart this argument. She should know better than to ask him this, he does both to nearly everyone he meets. But she was fed up with it, and this little game he had her playing wasn't the fun sort either. It was a simple question though, and she did want some sort of answer from him.

Remaro 07-07-2009 06:29 PM

He grinned slightly as he listened to her taking a deep breath, then finally spitting out her question. The grin broadened slightly when he heard her say the word assisted instead of helped. Well, at least White Rabbit was learning quickly how to act around him. He decided to answer without getting angry this time.
"Hmm...A tricky question really...It'sso fun to see you squirm, but at the same time, I enjoy assisting you, it angeres those like the Queen and amuses me. So the answer is, I frankly don't know. For now you'll have to put up with a bit of both." He smiled 'innocently'.

Arc Angel 07-07-2009 06:34 PM

The Rabbit simply rolled her eyes at this. "I tire of your answers, they tell me nothing. No more questions for you." she stated simply. At this point, she could care less whether not he answered her the way she believed to be right, she was growing tired of his puzzling answers and mood swings. Now she just wanted to get out of the maze.

Remaro 07-07-2009 07:18 PM

He smiled again cheerfully as he clapped the White Rabbit gently on the back as he found it amusing how she 'tired' of his answers.
"You treat me like I'm a little kitten! Don't worry...I suppose if I had to choose...Assisting you is more interesting...It means you're more likely to stay alive so I can annoy and tease you all the more!" He smirked slyly, bowing his head a little as he spoke to let his hair fall down across his face. Chess took another left, grinning as the maze changed again, noticing that his left turn was bringing them slightly closer to the exit.

Arc Angel 07-07-2009 07:28 PM

The White Rabbit herself smiled at this, laughing shortly but softly at his first comment. "Well, you treat me like a bunny, so don't expect any different!" she said, turning to look at him as they walked. At his second comment, she pouted a bit before grinning. "Right back 'atcha." She caught his smirk, which she wasn't fond of, but said nothing of it as they took yet another left turn. The Rabbit supposed this was why she was going in circles; she had been taking only rights.

Remaro 07-08-2009 08:21 PM

Chess thought for a moment at her first answer, stopping at another set of cross roads as he looked first left, then right.
"Well, there's a very simple reason behind that White Rabbit. Kitties hunt bunnies remember? Be thankful though I'm more of a bird person myself, that, and I doubt you'd taste very nice." He wrinkled his nose as he said this to emphasize the words. Quickly, he looked around again before frowning. "We should go left...But something tells me I want to go right..." He muttered, half to himself.

Arc Angel 07-08-2009 08:28 PM

The White Rabbit rolled her eyes at that, though she was indeed glad that he wasn't gonna eat her. She looked down both paths at the crossroads, then sighed. "Well... we've been taking lefts. But I'd rather trust your instinct than patterns.." she said, looking to the right path. "But if we find a bird down there.. I swear, once I get my weapons back from those cards.." her voice faded to a mumble at the thought of the cards with her precious equipment. She'd kill one day.
