Samantha laughed lightly at herself. "Because I never wanted them to begin with." She stated truthfully with a shrug. "Plus its interesting having the chair touch my back. It feels so odd." She stated with a laugh. She couldn't help it she was acting foolish and she knew it but it was fun to try new things every once and a while.

The dark man rubbed his back against the back of his chair and smiled wickedly, “I don’t know. It feels fine to me. Feels like an everyday average chair and yours looks to be the same as mine.” He laughed at the small joke and then turned semi-serious as he thought of something interesting. “Have you ever watched a demon child sleep? Or even seen a Demon of Earth’s true form?” He thought she wouldn’t have because his race hid themselves behind their more human forms when they could help it. The only time they didn’t have control over it was when they were children and slept. "I could show you Ophelia when I go over to check on her."

"Nope never even new about most of you. I saw the dance once by accadent. And only a little. Are little kids cute when they sleep?" She asked curiously as she continued to move her back against the chair a little bit.

The man moved to the edge of the chair about to stand, “Well, human kids are cute but demon kids are even cuter but they scare the hell out of humans. Would you like to come see her? I really need to go check on her about now and I thought you’d like to see her in her true form since it’s probably the only true form you’ll ever see. We like to hide ourselves all the time.” He looked to her, a twinkle of hope and pride showing in his eyes as he smiled.

"I'd love to see her. I like children of all kind." Samantha said standing up and brushing off. "Besides I have nothing to do here anyway." She stated as she ran her hands through her hair. "Lets go." she stated walking towards the door.

Asu jumped up from his chair and ran to the door happily. “Yes let’s.” He led her to his house and to the second level to Ophelia’s room. “There you go.” He walked to a crib that held a girl just old enough to walk who was sucking her clawed thumb as she slept. The girl had grey skin and two tiny little knobs that protruded from her forehead which would be horns with time. She had a small tail that flipped back and forth as she dreamed and tiny clawed feet.

Her face was peaceful and round and, other than the odd factors, she looked quite human in bone structure and features. The more human factors included curly strawberry blonde hair, rosy round cheeks, and the look of innocence that all children held.

Asu leaned on the edge of the crib watching the girl and smiling when she rolled over in her sleep. “Her momma was such a pretty thing, but was meaner than hell itself. She died shortly after this little monster was born and left her in my care.” The so called monster squeaked and tossed in her bed having a nightmare.

"Aww. She's adorable." Samantha said walking over. "Little ones always are but she's straight up cute." She said watching her. "I agree baby demons are the cutest little things." She stated. "Even cuter then pandas." She said with a grin. She loved pandas for some reason. They always struck her as cute. All of them like the great peaceful budah himself.

Asu smiled at Sam, "I'd hope she was cuter than a panda." and stood up to lean into the crib so he could pick her up. “You could hold her if you’d like. When she’s asleep she’ll sleep through practically everything.” The man rocked her in his arms, soothing the nightmare away. “She’d probably like you better anyway. I’m not sure why but I’m the only man besides Abel that she’ll tolerate.” He cooed at the sleeping girl still trying to rid her of her nightmare, his accent warped what he was saying, making it sound funny.

Samantha smiled. "Really? Thats interesting. I'd think since you raised her she'd tolerate men a bit better." She held back a little bit of a laughter. "Do you often have to sooth away nightmares like that Asu?" She asked offering to take the little child at the same time. She never really was allowed to hold little children because she never interacted with her target before.

Asu nodded and handed her to Sam carefully. “One would think but Able and I are really the only men she lives around and I usually take her to Millie’s house during the day where she’s around all the seamstresses that work in her shop; Millie herself doesn’t work there but she still owns it.” He watched the girl’s face and his eyes became distant as he sighed. “Everynight. She, like me, has this special power that causes her to see the past. But, unlike me, she sees what her ancestors have seen. I only see things that have been written on surfaces in the past.” He shook his head and leaned against a nearby wall as he stared around the room. “I can’t imagine what horrors she must see and I feel bad knowing I add a lot of what she sees.”

Samantha craddled the young child humming lightly she looked at Asu. "It'll come in handy one day. Be sure of that but don't let this upset you. She'll learn to control it." She said softly before going back to humming softly to the small adorable girl in her arms. She had a lovely voice if she wanted to she could sing but she found humming was more soothing to children because of the soft vibrations that it caused coming from the chest.

Asu grimaced and shook his head. “Yes, I know but I’m worried about how it’ll affect her psychologically.” He grinned as Ophelia calmed, relaxed and her forehead smoothed, the night mare ending. “See. I told you. She likes women more.” He leaned his head on the wall and looked at the ceiling as he listened to her humming. “Very pretty.” He stood from the wall and looked to her. “I’m going down stairs so you can stay here with her and tuck her back in when you’re done or you can just bring her down and keep me company while I fix some food.” He stood by the door staring at her hopefully.

Samantha looked at Asu. "I'll fallow you down to the kitchen. So what kind of stuff do you guys do?" She asked as she walked past the door careful not to walk to hard so she wouldn't wake the little girl she was carring. She waited for Asu to lead the way she wasn't familiar with the house yet so she had no idea where he needed to go.

The man shrugged and smiled, though she couldn’t see it from behind. “Which? Me and Abel? Or me and her?” he turned and motioned at Ophelia. “Me and Abel are mostly business partners backed by fighting by each other in various wars in the past. Me and Ophelia mostly sit in the house and play with her dolls or go to the park and she plays with other children while I watch her.”

He reached the kitchen and pulled a table in it for her to sit in, going to the stove and turning it on. He grabbed butter and two bananas, putting some butter in the skillet and cutting the bananas up. He set them in the melted butter, sizzling as they hit the pan, before turning around. “I don’t want to offend you in any way, in fact it’s the last thing I want to do, and this is just from my first impression of you. It needs said regardless, you didn’t seem the baby holdin’ type but here you are holding my little Boo.” He shook his head and stirred the banana slices before facing her again. “Do you really like babies so much?” He calmly walked towards her and tickled Ophelia’s chin, grinning when she mumbled and sighed cutely. She didn’t wake and slept nearly as deeply as the dead, not even dreaming anymore.

Samantha smiled and laughed some. "I'm not the baby hold'n type. I'm the fight to the death type. Their cute though and children can always be taught to love and understand and everything else nice in the world." She said with a grin. "But then again they can also learn how bitter it can be. I think their like little miricals every last one of them. But your little one here she's the first I've ever held. I'm not supposed to become part of my targets life. So I could always watch from a distance but never meet them." She said simply. "At least not like I've met you and Abel and Trill." She stated honestly.

“Oh… Well, that’s okay too. I agree with you about the little ones. Do you like Abel and Trill?” He finished cooking and got a plate, setting them on it and picking up a fork, pausing with it. “Would you like some?” The man walked back beside her and smiled. “She’s my granddaughter, you know, although, I do think of her as my little one.” He shook his head and grinned. “I do love her dearly.”

Samantha smiled and looked at him. "Fried banana? Um....I...." She was not sure about said food. She smiled again. "Sure I'll try a little." She stated with a nod. "Abel and Trill? Abel can be a pain in the butt really. I can't seem to guard him very well since he always has me off to the side unless its some big bad gross thing he doesn't have a clue how to deal with." She stated with a shake of her head. "Trill is nice but I don't know her well enough to say I'm a friend or just someone she knows. Abel is seriously googly eyes over Trill. Its kind of sweet but kind of hard to deal with."

"As for little Boo here. Your rasing her none the less so she's your little one. Little one doesn't always translate into your birth given child." She pointed out before grinning again. "Do you have any idea where Abel gets all these friken special feathers? It irritating to carry them around with me sometimes." she said scratching her neck. "Call it what you will I'm allergic to the feathers of other angels." She said with an annoyed sigh.

((I’ve tried fried bananas before and they are very good. They sound nasty but aren’t really. They’re wonderful. =D))

Asu laughed at her opinion of Abel and Trill, staying just long enough to let her finish speaking before turning away and leaving the room for a minute so he wouldn’t wake the little girl. He came back in calmer but with a shine in his eye. “Yeah, she is my little one; I’m still used to the values of the deep, Deep South though I guess.” He held the plate for her and handed her the fork so she could get some and try it.

The man smiled wryly. “Whoa! Glad I’m not a birdman. That’d suck for me. Huh?” He shook his head, chuckling at the nickname Ophelia had given the angels and then shrugged at her question. “I thought he grew them himself, doesn’t he?” and smiled at her. “I have something I think will help you with that. It’s a conjuring pendant. You can just carry the thing around and summon the feathers whenever you need. But you can only summon what you’ve got it primed for. I’ll let you leave the feather’s in a drawer here at my place too.”

He opened a drawer and pulled out a brownish tan snail shell that was plain as could be and held it for her to see. “Abel knows about the Summoning so he won’t mind one bit and the best part is you can carry it, wear it, keep it as a pet… Hell you can feed it to a seagull if you want and it’ll still show up when you need it if you’re it’s owner. AND most importantly is it moves easily between the planes. I don’t know why I’ll go to your dimension but it easily will.”

Samantha laughed lightly and tried some of the fried Banana. She raised an eyebrow and then nodded. "Not bad." She stated simply. Looking at Asu and his little snail shell she scratched her head. "So how does it work?" She asked simply not understanding how it worked. She got what it did for the most part. But then again she was very confused still. She started laughing. "Poor seagull one day it has lunch the next it's belly is empty." She said with a grin.

Abel smiled and grabbed a fork. “Like this.” and tapped it to the shell three times and then as he tapped it the fourth time he mumbled a word in latin, Redimio, nodding when the fork and shell flashed white. He took the fork and tossed it into a drawer shutting the drawer. Holding the Summoner tightly in his fist he concentrated on the fork and thinking Fork it appeared in front of him gently hovering beside his fist.

“You just tell it to bind and then when you need it you concentrate on what the object looks like and either think or say the word. It’s easy but effective. One good thing about it is you can’t accidentally summon things.” He laughed and nodded. “You’re very right and you know, I tried it once? You should have seen the look on that bird’s face.” He laughed trying to be quiet but Ophelia stretched and woke anyway, staring up at Sam with large eyes. She didn't know who Sam was and froze in surprise and a little fear, not crying like a normal child her age but rather reacting in the way a child a little older would, with large eyes and silence.

Samantha laughed some then looked at Ophelia. "oh I think I've scared the poor thing. Beg your pardon." She motioned for Asu to take the little girl. "I don't think she likes a stranger holding her. Its interesting though how her reaction is so very mature." She stated tilting her head to the side. "I won't hurt you promise." She stated trying not to frighten the girl much more then she had already been.

Asu came quickly over and patted the girl, who looked normal now, on the hand when she looked to see his reaction of a stranger holding her. “This is Sam. She’s nice, you can trust her.” The girl blinked, nodded, and looked to Sam. “kay.” She squirmed trying to get upright, pulling at Sam’s shirt in the process.

Asu looked to Sam and smiled. “Do you still want me to take her? She just didn’t know if you were okay or not and she’s a little beyond her years sometimes. Other times she acts just her age."

Sam moved her arms so the girl could sit up. "As long as she doesn't mind I'm fine." She stated simply. "I don't like invading the personal bubbles of people." She stated simply as she looked at Ophelia with a smile. "So you can now summon a fork. You'll never go hungry." She joked lightly with a grin.

Asu laughed at the thought of a personal bubble. “Demons, well at least the ones stuck in this dimension, don’t have personal bubbles. At least not so you’d notice.” His smile slipped a fraction and he looked away. “But we can still get scared and feel the kinds of emotions that come with those bubbles.”

He cheered up and smiled. “Well sure if the fork comes with fried banana on the end.” He held the shell out to her and warned her, “Don’t lose the Summoner until it’s attached to you though, then you can leave it lying around anywhere littles can’t reach it and don’t let Ophelia have it or she’ll eat it and I don’t want her to choke.” He smiled joyfully and cooed at the little girl gently playing with her hand.

"Erm...I won't let her choke on it and I"ll be careful." She said tucking the little snail shell into her pocket carefully. "You are so cute." She said softly with a smile. It was fun sitting there watching the little two year old be a little two year old. She grinned at Asu. "10 thousand pounds of Ba-nan-aa" She said with a laugh. Once upon a time she heard that in a silly song.
