it took about an hour fr the drugs he had sliped in the wine to take full efect. he even tested to see if they were really asleep, with hard shakes and loud noises. nothing stired them. he smiled and changed into something nice but not to expensive. he also wanted to make sure that it looked okay with the mask. he climbed out of the balcany and over the east wall. he didn't wan her to know he had to sneak out, other wise she might wonder.
he found her right were he had asked to met her. she was dressed beautifuly in blue. it nearly melted his heart to see her dressed in one of his faviorite colors. now she wasn't only a bird but the whole sky to him. "good evening princess" he said happily as he approached her. his outfit was still black with intraget gray embroidery on his lose shirt. |
"I'm no princess." Nashita laughed, blushing lightly. She straightened up a bit as Ash walked towards her. He looked handsome as he always did but Nashita had to fight a frown when she realized he was still wearing his mask. She'd hoped that he would show her his face soon.
"What are we going to do tonight?" She asked curiously. Nashita hadn't been out much at night and was curious what kind of life her world held at night. |
"well I'm normally trapped in the palace all day. want to just explore and see the sights" he asked leading her away from his prison. part of him was tempted to kiss her, how ever that would mean removing his mask and showing that he was the prince. Ashar still would rather be her servant.
"where would you like to go?" he asked letting her take the lead. she most likely knew more about the world then him. sure he had studied geography, but it didn't compare to real life experiences. he also let her take the lead because he still wondered if she distrusted him. even if she did she had a right to he had lied about everything. |
"You live in the Palace?" Nashita asked, wrapping one of her hands around Ash's arm as she led him through the city streets. She knew he'd probably cringe away but there was some strange people out here and she felt better having him next to her. "Do you work there?" She asked as they traveled under the night sky, weaving her way expertly through the city streets.
"yeah i work as a servant to the prince" he said secretly happy that she was holding onto him. maybe she did trust him. "so where are you take taking me master of the city? he said jokingly. he was happy just being bu her side that day with her and her alone.
"Outside of the city." Nashita laughed. "Or at least as close to outside the city as is allowed." She explained. "The guards won't let anyone out at night. But there's an abandoned building near the city limits where if you're at the top of the building, there's a window that looks out over the desert." She explained.
Continuing to weave through the streets in silence, Nashita entered the abandoned building. "Here we are." She smiled as she led Ash up the winding stairs. "Beautiful, no?" She asked as she sat near the edge of the window, bringing Ash to sit next to her as well. |
he looked out onto the sand an night sky. it was glittered with stars and that pleased him. he wished he had this kind of view from the palace. he looked back at Nashita. she made the scene look even better. "Very beautiful" he said not taking his eyes off her. once again he wanted to kiss her but resisted.
Nashita mumbled an agreement as she stared out at the stars. Turning to Ash, Nashita blushed a deep scarlet as she realized that he was looking at her. She watched her hands in her lap, wishing that he would show her his face but to scared to ask him to do so. The last thing she wanted to do was to upset him but she wanted to see him, to not have a mask seperating them.
To kiss him... She thought sadly, unsure if he'd even trust her to see his face let alone kiss her. |
ashar looked back at the sky when he saw nashita look at him. he was blushing slightly with the embarrassment. he was shy about her that was weird for him. if he wanted to kiss one of the harem girls he would but now was different. she was different. he wanted to be close and her to like him for him. he wished more then anything he was ash the servant and not Ashar the prince.
"Why do you work for the Prince?" Nashita asked, trying to break the silence. "If you don't enjoy it I mean." She explained, afraid he'd be offended by her question. "Couldn't you work elsewhere? There's plenty of jobs available right now. You could always work in the city."
"no i can't." he said with a sigh. "he's my prince i can't leave him as much as i'd love to." watched the sand roll of the dunes in the distance. "however that's why i came see you, your so free. I'm very jealous, but i like it." he wasn't sure if what he was saying made since to her as it did to him.
"There's no need to be jealous. I'm not quite as free as I'd wish to be." Nashita said quietly, taking his hand in her's. "Is he mean to you?" She asked softly, fear jolted in her stomach as she wondered if Ash's face had to do with the Prince rather then a fire. She watched his eyes carefully afraid that he would lie and hoping to see it in his eyes.
"no he's not. he's actually quite kind, just lonely" he said looking down at her soft famine hands. his were soft in comparison to a hard working man but to her's they were coarse. "just truly lonely" he said realizing th truth in his words. the palace had be much different when his siblings still lived with him, but they were all gone off to other kingdoms.
"That's so sad." Nashita mumbled as she entwined her fingers in Ash's. "Its to bad he can't get out of the Palace more. The King's been saying how the Prince is out of control lately and that's why he hasn't been able to leave. Its left some nasty rumors around the city." She sighed.
"i don't think so. but hen again what i see and what others do is much difrent," he said trying to stifle a laugh. so the whole city saw him a an out of hand prince. it wouldn't matter only that it made his people worry about how he would rule. "do you think the prince is out of control?" he asked.
"I think he's guarded to much. I think he needs some freedom. He's probably just going stir crazy from not being able to leave." Nashita admitted as she watched out of the tall building. The dunes were more beautiful at night then they were in the daytime but perhaps that was simply because Nashita had never snuck out before.
"yeah.... I know this is a little sudden but..... Nashita, may i kiss you" he asked not taking his eyes off the dunes. he wanted to ask even if it did mess up everything he was aiming for. he wanted to try her lips at least once.
Nashita blushed brilliantly, her face shining red in the moonlight. Turning to face Ash, Nashita raised her hand to stroke the side of Ash's mask. "Of course." She said quietly, the blush never leaving her face.
Ashar ran his hands on her face his fingers gently touching her eyelids till the closed with on hand he lowered his mask and softly pressed his lips to hers. they were just as soft as he had imagined in his mind if not better. More then anything he wished he was Ash the burned servant and not Ashar the prince to be king.
Nashita felt an electric bolt shoot through her as Ash kissed her. She moved her lips softly, carefully, to carress his own. Nashita raised her hand to Ash's neck, gently bringing him forward to deepen the kiss slightly.
Ashar released her face and wrapped his arms around her slender body. "even this close to you i feel so far away" he said hidding his face in her shoulder. he wanted more then anything to be honest but once again he feared her anger with him.
"Don't be sad." Nashita whispered softly, twisting her fingers into his hair as she placed her face against the crook of his neck. "I'm not going anywhere." She said quietly, her breath brushing against Ash's smooth skin.
Pulling Ash away from her slowly, Nashita let her cheek press against his. "Will you show me yourself?" She asked shyly, scared that he would leave. |
"do you swear not to hate me?" he asked hiding his face more against her. he was scared. you'd she run and tell the guards he had gotten out? would she hate him for lying about who he was? what would she do? he was afraid even though deep down he knew he'd have to tell her one day.
"I swear." Nashita said softly. Not after a kiss like that... She added mentally. Bringing her hand to Ash's cheek, Nashita waited for a moment to see if he would protest against her hands ready to pull them away from reach other. "Please?" She whispered softly, waiting for Ash to show his face to her.
Ashar sighed fearing this would be the last time he'd see his bird girl. he moved away from her keeping their faces inch's apart. all he could do was wait for her response as he looked down shyly. "i didn't want to lie to you, but i had to." he said in a tone that almost sounded like a child who was getting scolded.
