Arabian Nights l Private Roleplay
Nashita moved through the crowd that filled the marketplace. She needed to find a new fabric for her clothes tonight. Her mother had given her what little money they could spare as well as a promise to make her new clothes for the Prince's gala that night.
How Nashita could be chosen for such an honor as to dance for the Prince and his guest was something she couldn't fathom. She'd always been poor as had her parents, her parents' parents and so on. She bustled around the marketplace, which had an odor of sweat and fish which made her nose cringe in response. Nashita made her way to the fabric tent and ran her hands along the smooth silks. "What are you looking for Miss?" The man asked from inside the booth. "Something to impress royalty." Nashita said with a smile, a hint of fire in her eyes. |
Prince Ashar woke lat that day. The servants had let him sleep in since it was his birthday. Not that it really mattered. He had a party going on later that he considered running off and skipping. However he could already hear his father stern lecture about the deities of a prince. So he thought it best just to go and enjoy the food and maybe the entertainment. He dressed suited for his position as the eldest son of the king. His brothers and sisters were all off exploring the world while he was stuck in the capital getting stir crazed.
“You highness? I have come to inform you that there will be a new dancer at you party. She is most talented. One of the servants said entering his room as he tied his golden hair back with a leather band. It was clear his father had ordered the servants to make sure he attended his own party. “you don’t have to go around it. I’m coming, no sneaking out tonight” Ashar reassured the servent who looked rather nerves. |
Nashita returned to her broken-down home with her arms filled with a deep purple fabric. "Oh, my child." She heard her mother say as she entered the small kitchen. "This color will look wonderful on you, love. Go wash now and be ready while I make a dress." Her mother ordered as she crooned over the luxurious silk.
"Yes mother." Nashita said, retreating to her room. She let down her long black hair, allowing the waves to flow down her back. Shaking out her hair, Nashita made her way to her small vanity and began to prepare for the Gala. |
(you're not giving me much to work with)
Ashar made sure to set most of the preparations for his gala. the Aristocrats that were coming were more interested in the harem girls and dancers that would be there, then Ashar. he was the troubled prince in the family so most didn't like him. he looked out at the blue sky and daydreamed of going to far away places like his younger siblings. |
Nashita returned to her mother having washed her face and body as thoroughly as possible. Her mother draped the cloth expertly around her body, hugging tightly around her slim hips and flowing around her legs. Her mother cooed and awed at her daughter, givng her so many hugs that Nashita doubted whether or not she would actually be able to leave the house at all.
Finally, having given Nashita a last hug, her mother pushed her out the door almost forcefully, insisting that she would be late. Nashita moved through thick crowd that had gathered in front of the Palace. The cloth she had given her mother swayed around her body, draped many times over. The small bronze coins that attached to the hip of her dress clanged together loudly, attracting some attention from the people around her. Her cheeks flushed a brilliant red as she passed roudy commoners whose main purpose in life was taking advantage of young girls, Nashita picked up the hem of skirt as she gracefully ducked and dodged around the obnoxious crowd. Nashita took a long breath as she approached the Palace doors, nodding to the guards respectfully and announced who she was and that she was to dance at the Prince's Gala. After letting her in, Nashita took a deep breath as she procrastinated before entering the main ballroom. She smoothed her skirt more then what was probably necessary and ran her fingers through her thick, silky hair. Taking one last deep breath, Nashita entered the ballroom which was crowded with dancers who were already moving their hips to the beating drums and aristocrats who lounged lazily to watch the young girls dance. |
Ashar was seated comfortably alone the back was watching the girls dance. they were all pretty with the brilliant colors mixing together. they all looked the same to him till he saw a girl enter with silky black hair and the most rich of purple gown. she was not one of the harem girls or a princess but she seemed much different.
'more then likely a poor girl comeing to dance in hopes of being the one to go with me tonight' he thought bitterly. he was always one to think poorly of the girls, most of the time he saw them a plane personality less creachers. he saw an aristocrats reach up for her body touching her softly on the hips as if testing to see if she was the type he wanted. it slightly angered Ashar, even if he was sure her goal was to sleep with one of them he still hated to see a man touch a women without her wish. he planed to wait and watch to see if it escalated. |
Nashita shied away from the strange man who had stroked her side, almost running into one of the large curtains that hung to the ground throughout the ballroom. Her face red from the near accident, Nashita snaked her way carefully through the crowd of preverse aristocrats. A few others touched her softly yet not as nearly as horribly as the first one had.
Nashita finally made her way to the dance floor, her eyes giving away to her shyness and nerves before she felt the beating of the drums traveling through her body. Shutting her eyes from a brief moment, Nashita let her hips move as if by themselves as they carried the beat effortlessly. Her eyes opened slightly, her arms raised above her head as they formed shapes around her small body that even her fingers felt the beat. She felt her toes strain as they lifted her higher off the ground as she twirled and danced to the music. |
the girl was shy it almost made him laugh to see her reaction. he had thought wrong about her she had her dignity even if she was poor. he would have to make sure she was payed well. her dancing was what stuck to him. she move effortless and with the highest of grace. it was hypnotic to watch, the other dancers didn't even registered in his mind. it reminded him of watching a snake move effortless through sand or water.
"she's lovely. i think i want her" he heard one of the other aristocrat said with a smile. Ashar didn't say or do anything he was more interested in watching then doing anything. however he didn't want then messing her up, she was pure and simple with out wondering male hands. |
Nashita heard small whispers of aristocrats who had noticed her, causing a sly smile to reach her lips. She struggled to keep the smile there as she heard exactly why they had noticed her and decided to tune them out, lost in the harmony of the music.
She felt the whispers of the purple fabric as it brushed against her skin. She was only vaguely aware of the rhythmic beating of the bronze coins as they hit against one another on her hips. Nashita continued to twirl endlessly, her hair swirling at the base of her neck as the beat seemed to overtake her body. |
ashar soon lost track of time as he watched his bird girl. that was what he dicided she was a lovely black bird with a soft purple touch. when the music stopped for a moment as the song ended. one of the aristocrats got up and pulled the bird girl closer to him and onto his lap as he sat.
"you'll dance only for me from now on." he said petting her hair. the other men voiced their protests. "ha like you would know what to do with such a fair girl" they joked each trying to get a peace of the girl. |
"I-uh." Nashita said as she tried to get out of the larger man's lap. "I'm sorry, I must be going now." She said hurriedly as she escaped the man's tight grasp.
Nashita moved quickly towards the middle of the floor, straying as far away from lounging aristocrats. Letting the awkwardness from the strange man's attention fall to the floor from her dancing, Nashita closed her eyes and let herself exist for only the beat of the music. Soon the song finished and Nashita, as well as the dancers surrounding her, were ushered from the floor to allow a new wave of dancers on to the floor. The girls down a hallway that led to an open door. Peeking inside, Nashita saw a small room that was filled with mirrors and strange bottles. "Prepare for your next shift, ladies." The guard said gruffly before leaving the group of dancers alone. |
Ashar got up and went to his room. he wasn't going to let those bigs touch the bird girl again. he changed into darker cloths and slipped out of his room. taking secret passages to where the girls prepared for the next shift of dancing. he hid his face with a cloth not wanting the other dancers to get jealous of the girl.
Ashar was a master at getting past people without being seen. how else would he get out to explore the town. he slipped into the room all the girls were busy talking about how they did dancing that only a few noticed him and didn't care. he stayed near the wall more then likely they thought he was one of the men in charge of watching them so they wouldn't skip out on their next performance. if no hat then one of the Aristocrat's servants. |
Nashita watched herself in the mirror, brushing out her thick waves as she tuned out the bustle of the girls around her.
"Are you a new dancer?" Nashita heard a voice say from behind her. As she turned she saw a small group of girls who stood around her, all of their eyes focused on her. "Oh, uhm, yes. I'm new." Nashita said shyly. "That explains it then." A different girl said from the huddle. "She's just a shiny new toy. Soon the men will be sick of her." She laughed cruelly as the group dispersed. Nashita turned back to the mirror feeling scorned. She had hoped that they would've been accepting of her and all she was competition and apparently not very threatening competition. The girls began to huddle by the door, listening to the sounds of the party, as they left Nashita stranded at her mirror. Not allowing the girls to upset her, Nashita picked up the silver brush and returned her attention to her hair. |
Ashar saw the bird girl brushing her hair that was as dark as raven feathers. he came behind her careful not to scare her. "please don't say anything." he said placing his hand on her shoulder softly. her skin was smooth like silk making him even more want to keep her away from those filthy men's hands.
"i want you to leave this place with me. I'll take you home safe, but you can't stay. they'll sell you to the highest bidder or the one with higher status." he explained a strand of his golden hair fell in his face as he spoke keeping his emerald eyes on the mirror. |
Nashita nearly dropped her brush at the shock of the young man's voice. Her mind wavered for a moment as she considered her options. No matter how much she hated the idea, the boy was right. But on the other hand her mother would disapprove of her leaving with with a strange man. Deciding that she could handle one young boy over a crowd of bidders, Nashita got up carefully.
"Alright then." She said evenly, her voice low as to not attract the attention of the other girls. "How do you suggest we leave with all of the girls crowding the door?" She asked. |
he nodded to a rack of clothes "behind there is a door it will lead outside." he knew he was breaking his word earlier when he said he wouldn't sneak out, but he didn't want the bird girls wings clipped. "i'll distract them and you can go. you can aether wait for me or just go home. t will take a while for me to shake them off but i can manage that." he waited till he was sure she under stood.
he then approached the girls and faked is voice a little deeper. "Prince Ashar has requested me to choose a young maiden to join him tonight, and his personal harem." he said grabbing all the girls attention. he hoped none would attempt to remove his mask otherwise they would recognize him as the prince, his hopes of saving the bird girl would than be dashed. |
Nashita rolled her eyes as her mystery boy diverted the girls attention. It was a good fake... She mused. It would be something a Prince would do... She thought as she ducked behind the rack of clothes and exited through a small door.
The night air was cool against her skin. She shivered once from a harsh breeze but soon she was cool again as she watched the starts glistening above her. Nashita sat upon a low wall, her back to the small door. Nashita sighed, unsure on whether to wait for the boy to come back to her or to go home immediately. I should thank him... She pondered. But maybe he was just luring me out here to get me alone and kidnap me... She thought, weighing her options. |
Ashar chose a girl at random and took her to one of the rooms an aristocrat was staying in. he doubted they would turn her away and he be home free. he slipped out a window and removed his mask to let himself breath freah air for a moment. he had a dagger hidden away just in case thieves were lurking. he replaced his mask before going to met the bird girl.
"hey" he called quietly when he saw her. he had honestly expected her to leave with out him. "where to mistress?" he asked with a slight bow. he wanted to be a gentlemen to her. even if she wasn't a princess. " know its a little late to ask but may i know your name?" |
Nashita eyed the boy warily. "Nashita." She answered. "My home is down in the village." She said shyly, embaressed of a boy seeing her shabby home. "I'm sure I will make it home alright." She said, looking down at her feet.
"And thank you." Nashita added quietly, bringing her eyes to meet the strange boy. "For not letting me become the reward of an aristocrat." |
"Nashita, its a lovely name" he said smiling as he tasted the word. "i should sill go with you after all who knows what kind of evil creeps are out." he let her lead the way. besides she was going to get paid for dancing after the performances, and seeing as she had skipped them e needed to make sure she got some gold. he notice she was eying him with distrust.
"i swear as a man not to do anything against your will" he said. he just wanted to see her home safe and sound with out any surprises. |

"Thank you." Nashita answered quietly, her voice soft as a whisper. She began to lead her way through the maze of streets. Nashita kept her eyes down, wrapping her arms around herself from the cold. "What is your name?" She asked, as she wound through the maze of streets.
|
Ashar thought a moment he didn't want he knowing he was a prince that was why he hid his face from her. "Ash. i lost most of my memory when my parents died in a fire. all i remember was ashes, so ash i became" he said lying. he had become sadly good at it in his years as a prince. I'm a palace servant, thats how knew all the ways out." he watched her unsure if she was buying it.
|
"Oh." Nashita said quietly, never doubting the boy's words. "I''m sorry for your loss." She said softly as they continued through the maze of streets. Nashita stopped abruptly as they reached the beginning of the slums.
"I can walk from here." Nashita insisted, looking pointedly at the slums and hoping that Ash would not follow her. "Will I see you again?" She asked softly. |
"chances are not in our favor". he looked at where she was heading and didn't like the idea of her going alone. however she seemed not to want him to fallow. he reached for his belt and took off the dagger. he took her hand and placed the handel in it, along with gold coins.
"take these. i don't want you going alone and unarmed, the coins are for the lovely dance i was lucky to see." he smiled at her. "I'm sorry i can't give you more this is all i have on me" |
