He held her tighter as they continued walking. The lights were growing even brighter now, it was almost beautiful, "Yeah, we will." he smiled at her.

He smiled at her excitement, "I know, it's almost as amazing as you." he said

He kept her close as they entered the city, they had no idea what to expect. He looked around, and the people were walking around, not paying attention to them, "where do we go...?" he asked himself.

"That's the problem..." he said, but put on a brave face, "Alright, let's go." he smiled and continued walking. Eventually he found a friendly looking face, "Hello, sir?" he asked the old man, "Do you know where we could find a place to say for a night or two? We're new to this place..." he smiled a little, nervously.

"Hello," the old man said inspecting the couple with a smile, "well, you certainly came to the right person. I own a motel not far from here."

Kevin smiled, "Ah, that would be great, but... we have no money..." he admitted. The old man looked the two of them over.

Something sparked in the old man's eyes, "You're escapees!" he accused, "you came from the house in the woods!" he said. Kevin was taken aback and moved forward, slightly in front of Yukina thinking the old man may have mind to send them back there. Instead he laughed, "we were warned you were escaped mental patients and if we were to see you, we were to turn you in immediately. You don't look like any mental patients I've seen, and I know what goes on in that place. Stay with me. I can help you."

Kevin looked back to Yukina for an objection, "what do you think...?"

Kevin smiled a little then looked back to the man, "Alright, thank you..." he said. He still wasn't sure about this, whether or not he could trust the man, but the city was on alert for them, they really didn't have much of a choice.

The old man led them down the block, took a right and down a few more blocks to a small motel. The old man brought them into his manager-office and told them to sit down. "My name is Henry, by the way." he smiled at them, "Welcome. I'm so glad to hear you made it out of there safely."

"How do you know about us?" Kevin asked.

"I knew someone like you once, he was taken there..." he said, still smiling, but with sad eyes.

"Who?" he asked, curious.

The man smiled a little still, showing them a picture, "My grandson, James." Kevin took the picture and looked at it, his eyes widening. He couldn't believe it. He knew the boy he was looking at. Kevin couldn't speak, he couldn't find words.

Kevin nodded, "I... thank you..."

The old man looked at Kevin wide eyed, "you knew my James?! Is he okay?"

Kevin shook his head slowly, "He... died..."

The old man looked down as well as Kevin, neither one knowing what to say.

The old man finally looked at Kevin as he took the frame and put it down, "How long ago? How did it happen?" he asked quietly.

"Years..." Kevin said, "His body was rejecting the drugs they were giving him, and they were pushing his training too hard. His body couldn't handle all the stress put on it..." Kevin looked up at Henry, "He fell asleep and never woke up. They never told me the cause, of course they didn't, but I can only imagine the possibilities..." he sniffled slightly. Kevin wasn't crying, but he was getting awfully close.

Henry nodded, closing his eyes again, "He was practically your brother, yes? You took care of each other?" he asked Kevin, who only nodded in response. Henry put a hand on his shoulder, "Then I'm sure there's nothing you could have done that you didn't." he reassured Kevin. After a pause he looked at the two of them, Kevin then Yukina, "You two must be hungry after your escape. Let's eat. How's an omlette sound?" he smiled.

Kevin laughed a little, wiping his nose on his sleeve, "That sounds good to me, thanks."

Yukina looked confused."a what?",she asked looking at Herey then at Kevin since he seemed to know what it was.

Kevin smiled, "It's eggs with cheese folded into the middle, sometimes meat." he explained.

Henry nodded, "Yes, but today it's only cheese. I have to go shopping for food later." he laughed.

Yukina smiled."sounds yummy!",she said happily.

Henry nodded with a laugh, "Alright. Follow me and have a seat at the table." and wobbled off toward the kitchen. Kevin took Yukina's hand and followed Henry. The kitchen was small and quaint, a nice table for four sitting in the middle off the white linoleum floor. There were light blue walls lined with light wooden cabinets painted white, as well as white paned windows.

Kevin pulled a chair out for Yukina, while looking around the kitchen. HE turned to Henry, "This is a nice room you have here. Do you need any help with the food?"

Henry shook his head, "Just have a seat." he smiled at them, starting their food.

Yukina sta down at the chair and also looked around the room.It looked fimiliar as well.She sighed slightly and then looked at Henry."are you sure?",she asked,also wanting to help.

Henry laughed and nodded, "Oh, yes, I'm sure. You two have had a long day, or however long it's been since you escaped." he smiled, putting the first omlette on a plate, then starting the next one.

Kevin sat next to Yukina, just watching the old man cook. He wondered if James had ever had the chance to do the same thing...
