"okay.. i.. i'm not used to it" she bit her lower lip and looked up at him, the earth under them didnt seem right. She growled low and wild, when a large angry figure sprouted from the woods she slowly approached it, when it reached for her throat she grabbed his wrist, and snapped it "how did you find us.." she snarled

he laughed "how do you think?" he pointed at nick "stay away from him girlie he's mine"

She laughed low and loud assuming a low crouched position, after striking upward between his legs she leapt into the air and that's when he caught her, she expected this and released something that looked like the chinese touch of death with a black like energy emitting from her palm

Ray's image flickered then disappeared, she dropped and landed on the ground, kai wasnt the one in control of her body at this point. Another woman was, one from the past, one with the proper training.. her ancestor "are you alright child?" when she asked this kai's chest hollowed and she was on the ground, blankly staring at the sky.. "what happened...?"

Nick blinked at her with surprised eyes. "I..dunno..one minute a.. r..ray was here and then he was gone and you where someone else and.. my head hurts." he felt ill to. frowning he looked around. what on gaia was going on.

"kaila.." she whispered hands shaking and looking over at him, her breath was choked by the same spirit, she knew she couldnt avoid this, she was after all.. her ancestor's reincarnate "Nick.." she looked over at him "Ahote.. i-is in trouble" she murmured feeling his pain, feeling a hand around his throat.. she knew what he was feeling and it was frightening..

Laying unconcious Makawee Maka screamed, an invisible type of torture was taking it's grip on her. Her brother was at the hands of ray, Kai hadnt known where she sent him.. and now.. she's regretting it.

"we have to save them" she cried

Nick took off at top speed, darting through the woods as his magic flared out wards in a large circle. searching when he found his uncle he headed directly for him. he wasn't letting Kai near th eman. skidding to a stop he had to fight down the sudden panic at seeing Ray he forced his voice out in a shakie thread. "STOP IT.."*

"Really?" he snarled staring down at Nick "You think you can stop me?" When he said this he raised his hand up and slapped it across Ahote's face again, he was already bruised and coughing up blood, which was of course something he wasnt used to.

Makawee Maka's eyes fluttered open at the sound of her brother being slapped over and over, of Nick "wh.. h.." she mumbled some incoherent phrase which sent Ray flying into a very large oak tree

Kai panicked trying to follow nick she found herself lost but close

IC: Nick shudderd breath coming in fast pants but he shoved the fear down and moved forward to check on the brother first, makeing sure he was still alive and not damaged perminently then checked on the sister. shuddering he sent magic into the eart hand ray would find himself 'bound' by vines. nick wasn't sure how long that would hold the man but he hoped long enough to get these two some where safe. he dragged the man out first and placed him by a tree which opend up and allowed the man to slip INTO it then he got the sister and got her in there as well the ground beneath the tree hollowed out much like his and Kai's sleeping area.. then he raced to fin dhis friend so she wouldn't go near ray. after the tree closed up. hidein g the twins from ray. nick found Kai. dragged her with him and into a tree and 'twisted' his magic so they suddenly appeared with the twins .. of coruse this was just one spell to many and nicks body collapsed his breathing shallow and blood running from one side of his nose.. he'd be fine with some more rest.*

Ahote was worried when he awoke, he found kai crying over Nick's body she knew they were underground, , she liked this hollowed out ground, she knew what to do now "go, i'll take care of him" she smiled and waved for the girl to follow, Makawee was awake by this time. She and kai both hollowed out every section under each of the strongest trees they could find, they hung balls of light which emitted no heat. It could be dimmed by lightly tapping them.

The ground under each tree wasnt hollowed out until about 20-30 feet under ground then reinforced with spells and enchantments so it wouldnt collase inward. Makawee even lined their new home with stone so the moisture wouldnt flood them out. Their new home was like an underground mansion now, nick would be so proud.

Ray, unable to find anyone, set up camp where he last saw them, kai sat under him, casting several mind erasing spells she knew would work and with the combined effort of Makawee they sent him to a far away land without any idea of who he was or where he was from.

Nick wouldn't wake up for three days, his body struggling to rebuild the lost magical energy .. if they looked at him with mage sight his magic had formed a series of roots into the earth. and he was 'feeding' from the ground much like the trees above them.*

(...:sweat: sorry if i did something wrong, i thought it would be cool if they could retreat to their underground home incase something went wrong.. ooo and well ray will be back.. with so many more people.. like an army but you'll see.. one more post and i absolutely have to go to bed.. i have to get up early *pout*)

Ahote leaned closer to Nick, hands pressed against his temples, pouring any magic he could to assist the young man. While they waited Kai felt lost, sitting under one of the many root balls which formed seperate rooms, vines came over them as well to form walls, all someone would have to do is tap them and they would open up like a door. She sat with her knees curled up to her chest either in one of the many BIG rooms or next to nick and only nick, when she wanted to be close to him, she shooed Ahote away.

The twins attempted to talk to kai but all she did was stare at them.. with a lost puppy type of look. They made her necklaces and she put them on, sporting them with pride. They went hunting and she cooked, when nick didnt wake on the third day she was convinced he was dead and ran to the upper world picking as many roots as possible.. that's when it happened, while bending down to pick sage, an arrow shot through her hand, she shrieked and plucked it out, she was surrounded by archers of a tribe Ahote and Makawee 'disgraced'

when she attempted to run they followed she strung them through the forest but was taken down by an arrow through the chest barely missing her heart. Ahote ran after her, when he found her bleeding and crying he picked her up, distracted the tribe and escaped back underground healing her as well as he could. Makawee watched over nick awaiting for him to wake.

Kai knew she wouldnt die, but she didnt know what would happen next, staring up at the laterns she knew the end would be soon for either of them.. she didnt want to face it.. but.. it would happen eventually, they've had four attempts on their lives in the past two days..

the arrow was plucked from her chest and laid on the ground, herbs stuffed into the wound.. what he did next she shrieked at, no one on the above ground would hear, he stuck his finger into the wound twisting it, grinding the herbs into her flesh

(never mind i'm staying on lol oo and ray will bring his brother and twisted sister along for the ride in a month, in the mean time they will train with ahote and makawee ehehe)

Her scream was what woke Nick he jerked up his eye's flareing open unseeing as his voice snarled through the earth like an avalanch. "You harm my sister in spirit again and I'll rip you head off and feed it to your throat crown first.." he was up and stalking to Kai's side energy slamned into the male and shoved him away from her as it cloaked her. to anyone with eyes the power took the form of a snarling black panther. laced in green energy. Nick knelt next to kai made a face at the messy healing jobe and touched his friends chest soothing coolness would rush along her nerves as he pushed his power into her fixing the toren skin and blood vesals. knitting htem back together as if they where cloth and his magic the thread. in a matter of minutes it had healed and been clensed of hte herbs and any poison the arrow might have had.*

she gasped watching ahote shift into a wolf, he stood on all fours staring down at the wounded were cat and angry Nick "my brother saved her" makawee said with a soothing tone of voice

Kai shivered looking at her hand then down at her chest "you.. called me your sister" she said rather happily, she knew there would be nothing more to your relationship so, why not embrace it? She stood up and plopped ontop of him in a sisterly type of way "He was helping.. brother sometimes.." she paused to take a breath "a messy and painful way of healing helps.." when she said this she shivered from the pain she succombed to earlier

Makawee nodded and continued to shape the roots of the trees above to form a bigger rooms, better rooms. the vines followed. Ahote walked over to them gently sniffing at Nick's neck, the central veign of magic "you need more rest. If you dont sleep you'll kill yourself. We'll keep her safe while you rest" Kai nodded and got up pushing nick back to his spot, his 'room' while he was sleeping makawee conjured feather matresses for each of them, each a queensize and each very comfortable "you need to sleep too miss kai" Ahote said looking her in the eye "you refused to sleep while he was out.. he's alright now, now you need to rest before you kill yourself too"

she nodded and unwillingly obeyed, she waited for nick to settle down, shifted into her catform and took her spot on the foot of his bed, purring as she slept.

Nicks body shifted as well, becomeing a blue black haired wolf and he curled around the feline. once he was settled, one silver gray eye shot the other two a warning look as he let sleep take him. well it explained why he was so loyal to her. wolves where very loyal creatures to their pack sure there were fights for dominance but nick firmly new his place. he was no dom. but he wans't afraid to fight for what he considerd his pack sister. even if she WAS a cat.

as the night wore on the twins made their frequent trips to the outside world for food and other necessities, this wouldnt have been unusual if it werent for their irregularity.

Kai's small body was bundled in her brothers, which helped her relax.. sort of, she was unable to shake the memories of an old life, of what she had just experienced with nick.. with everyone, what was going to happen to them? were they going to be alright? or were one of them going to die..? she didnt know.

Nick was stubborn he'd fight for his new sister's survivel if he had to rip the world apart. as he slept he dreamed. of hunting with pack mates, running through a forest with no fear fallowing him. the next morning he woke and yawned.. and relized he was still in wolf form he stood and streatched. he'd only reverted to the form once, on another occasion and that was because his uncle had been beating him badly. and like a 'were wolf' his strength came more at night when the wolf was there just at hte surface then during hte day when it slept unless he was desperate apparently.

kai didnt move nor did her rib cage. She was in a different type of state, something that would scare anyone with an untrained eye. Her eyes didnt open but paws twitched once before keeping still. She was recharging herself, but of course it did appear death had taken her.

Makawee was cooking eggs and meat for breakfast, had prepared a salad and made orange juice all by hand, that was how she was raised. But unfortunately what she didnt do was scale things down to fit the group she was with, so, what she made could feed an entire village.

Nick nudged Kai with a worried snout. and paced. bakc and forth. he didn't eat.. and he snarled at hte twins if the ycame near him or, what looked to him was Kai's body. he refused to shift human ethir. fangs and claws much better to fight with. his form morphed into a cat so he had the claws bit. a large panther. the wolf was for running and protecting family. the cat was for long drawen out fights.. he wrapped around his smaller feline sister. theyd be lucky if he ever turned wolf agian as it rarely ever came to the surface.*

she shivered and opened her eyes once before standing up. She yawned widely then smiled as well as she could "sometimes you just need a good charge" she giggled and laid back down leaning fully into nick this time, she'd be okay but of course she wasnt done sleeping. Creating their home had taken alot out of her, but somehow not out of Makawee Maka, this was of course strange to her but she wasnt used to using magic.

Nick nuzzled into her and rumbled a low purr as he kept an eye out for their apparent add ons. his tail twitching in contentment he'd had a look around once the twins had gone to do something then he caught the scent of food and his stomach growled. food.. was good.. he liked food.*

kai trembled while sleeping, her body was paralyzed while she slept. wanting food was one thing, which she did, but needing it wasnt exactly true at this moment, she knew she needed something to eat eventually but knew nick was in more need of it than she was. she hoped he would leave her for a moment to get some susstenance, she'd be okay.

heavy feet plodded against the earth above them, hands sunk into the earth and suddenly kai was standing on her feet, weak and confused. Trembling she stared at the ceiling, when the feeling subsided she slipped back into dream land. Was it ray? no way.. but of course he did find them earlier..

Nick was at her side nudging her but then she was asleepa gain and he curled around her . offering his warmth to her. his head darted tot he ceiling. and he forced his body into his human apperance. "Someones up to .." he lifted kai into his arms and moved for the twins. "Did you two remember a way out of here incase we're attacked the plants are clammoring that strangers are int he forest.."*

she nodded and waved her hand over a rock which was actually a long tube/slide giving them a chance to travel to any of the several homes she and kai constructed. While they traveled kai slipped deeper into her hybernative sleep, shivering every so often.

after their arrival makawee continued making breakfast, which she was able to bring with them "Is she dead?" Ahote asked, shy but sad in the same sense.

"No.. her bodys rebuilding its energy so its putting itself into hybernation. her heart rate will of slowed down along with her breathing and all motor functions. to normal people she'll seem dead.. but she's not." he caressed his sisters head as he murmerd to her poruing energy into her her. sort of like a double charge. he glanced up. "I'm sorry for how I acted I..I don't trust easily. and she's the only one who's ever saved me before.."*

ahote stopped where he was, shocked "she saved you. may i ask from what?" while he spoke his eyes filled with concern, of course he would be concerned, he'd never heard of anything like this. He was never around anyone who had been enslaved, his tribe didnt believe in that.

makawee smiled and slid the food she prepared in front of the boys while they talked.

Nick rubbed Kai's back gentle as he continued chanelling energy int oher. "From the man who nearly killed you he's..my owner.." he claimed NO blood relation to his uncle. and the others didn't need to know how.. messed up his life was. "freed me from the collar that bound me to him at great risk and almost recapture of herself.. and we've been running ever since... that's why when you had.. coverd her mouth like that I reacted with such extreme prejudice..we've not had a happy life.. nethir of us.."*

Ahote nodded taking a small bite from the food after thanking his sister, then turned back to nick "are you two friends or of blood relation?" he knew it wasnt his place to ask but the question was never answered when brought up to Kai the night nick was unconcious.

She shivered in his arms, bit her lower lip then meowed again. She was tired, very tired, listening to their conversation was interesting she wanted to know what all nick had to say about her.

"are.." he started then paused "are you alright? she's quite a brave little girl"
