Shortly after their dinner, Vinnie chained the two dogs and took them out for a walk. Seeing the clouds, he pulled the eager girls back in to get an umbrella. He was then promptly dragged out by the two. "WOAH!"
She smiled as she got quiet a bit of food to eat, she headed back to the park to where she was going to sleep. She sat down on the ground opening a bag of chips to eat.
The two labs lead their master to the park. They had gone on walks all the time with Vinnie and they always looked forward to it. All sorts of new smells and trees to see. Then, one of them smelled someone new. The ran towards Rina, while Vincent tried to keep them from running.
Soon they were right in front of Rina's tent, sniffing the girl and the bag of chips. "Rina?" The teacher looked down, surprised that she was outside in a tent of all places. |
She looked at the teacher, eyes wide, and the two dog. "Uh, hello? Why are you here?" She asked, seeing that right now she could possibly be force to go home.
He pointed to the two curious labs. "I'm walking my dogs... may I ask why you are here? Aren't your parents worried about you by now?" He raised an eyebrow to her.
"Like my parents would care at all" she said as she took a chip and plopped it into her mouth. She sighed lightly as she looked around.
Once she ate the chip, the dogs started licking her cheek happily and barking. They found a friend! "HEEL!" Just then the two stopped and sat back down. Despite their hyper attitudes, they were well trained. After giving her a tissue, Vinnie asked, "What do you mean by that? All parents care for their children."
"Boozers and abusers. Need I say more?" She asked petting one of the dogs on the head and made its tail hit the ground with a thump. She smiled as she kept on petting the dog. She looked at the other and placed the bag of chips down and started to pet both.
The dogs hung their tongues out and panted as their tails swayed to and fro. The teacher was about to argue that she should've gone to a friend's house, but he realized that she probably would've done so already. He looked up to the sky. "If... you need something to eat... or a place to stay... you can stay the night as my house. I live close by." He murmured.
"Really? I wouldn't want to impose on you" she said with a bight smile as she got up to her feet. Still petting the dogs she felt loved for once, in a very long time. She laughed lightly as she saw one of the dogs roll over onto its back.
"I cannot have a student sleeping in the rain unsupervised." He shrugged. But he had to keep it secret; teachers were not allowed to house students, let alone runaways of any sort. Vinnie just hoped that Rina will go back or sue her parents before Monday.
He chuckled at the dog. "Go on and pet her belly... she is very friendly." |
She smiled brightly as she got back onto her knees and started to pet the dog once again. She looked up at her teacher and laughed "thank you sir." She said softly as she watched the dog smile.
The other dog whined as she went unnoticed. With a smile, Vinnie came over and took care of her. As he did, he turned to Rina. "I'll get the spare bedroom ready just in case you want to sleep over for the night..." He murmured quietly. He still did not know if she was serious about his offer.
"You are a really nice man, sorry about running away from you during school hours." She said as she watched the dogs have fun.
He shrugged. "That's behind us now. Lets just forget about it for now, ok?" He smiled slightly. "I better finish walking the girls..."
"I'll pack up my stuff" she said as she started to roll up her make shift tent. She looked at her bag of chips and sighed lightly, she was gioing to sleep in a warm bed for once.
The dogs licked her hand gently. "Here let me get that..." he picked up her tent and her chips. After tucking it under his arm, he grabbed the leashes again. "Follow me then." He smiled slightly to Rina.
She smiled lightly, "yes sir." She said following the man, she really didn't care about what could happen. She was going some where warm and safer then the park.
He guided her to his home. He unleashed the two girls into the living room. "Stay here... I'll make your bed. Make yourself at home ok?" Vinnie smiled and went down the hall into the spare bedroom. Just then, the rain started to come down.
She looked out a window and watched the rain pore down, she smiled seeing that she would not sleep in that at all tonight. 'Thank you god, thank you sir." She said to herself closing her eyes.
The dogs were staring outside and at Rina. Soon, Vinnie came back out. "Your bed is ready... you can go to sleep whenever you want. Do you have a change of clothes? Did you eat already?" Since he was the host, it was best that he ask these questions.
She petted one of the dogs laughing lightly. She looked back at the teacher and smiled. "Thank you, and I was eating when you came by, and yes I have clothes."
"Good." He smiled and turned around slightly. "I'll be in my office if you need me, but other than that... you can do whatever you want."
"Thank you sir." She said as she started to pet the dogs once again. She laughed as one jumped on her and pushed her down to the ground.
The other dog soon joined her companion and started licking Rina's face. With a small smile, the teacher left the three and went to his office. He promptly sat in his chair and started looking over his students' homework.
