Do you wanna start or should I?

Tayla ran a hand through her shoulder-length red hair , that had one black highlight on the right side of her hair. Her hair was slightly wavy , but mostly straight. She had just walked through the school entrance and she was waiting in the office for her new list of classes , and she sighed as she did. Tayla was the new kid at this highschool. She appeared to be 16 years old , but she was way older than what she appeared. Her outfit seemed normal. A white tanktop and loose blue jeans , with a red braclet on her hair and a black necklace with a cross on it. Which was kinda ironic , since she was a vampire.

When Tayla was given her list of classes , she smiled at the secretary and her baby blue eyes sparkled , and nodded before walking out of the office and finding her first class. World History..... she read and walked down the hall way , to find the first class. She found it lame that she had to start another school life again , but it was the only way to keep people off her back when she walked the streets. She had been asked so many times 'Aren't you a bit young to be all by yourself?' , and sometimes other people tried to take her in as their own when she clearly didn't need anyone.

With a yawn and a strech Marcus Abel stood and took his place at the front of the class. He looked young, which was made even more clear when a Teacher that looked about 50 walked into the room. As the older teacher adressed the now full classroom, He explained thatIt was Mr. Abels first day in this school and to treat him like you would any member of the staff. With those short words the Elder Teacher left.

Mr. Abel Let out his breath and relaxed. Something about thise school never felt right. The Staf were all very old. It seemed that he was the only teacher under 26. Also the school its self was quite old and poorly lit. There were dark corner every where. With one fianly glance at the door to make sure there was no more unwelcomed guests, He turned and spoke for the first time to his class with a strong and sure voice.

"Hello, My name is Marcus Abel. I will be taking up this class for this year. I am sorry to hear that you last teacher die over the summer break. I understnad that his death was quite odd. If you wish to write down your breast wishes to his wife and children, there is a card on my desk. Feel free to come up any time you want."

Abel Began to paced back and forth. He unbuttoned the sported jacket he was wear and toss it on his desk. From the pocket of his coat he pulled out a slim pair of reading glasses and placed them on. He fell silent for a second thinking of how to start off his first lesson. Teach world History was not the easy thing to do. Most of the time the kids don't care at all. So how best to reach them? He ran his fingure through his golden hair; which only messed up the shoulder length hair. IT was then and idea hit him and he began to talk once again.

"Dose anyone here know the History of this school? Of this town? The myths that were made up long ago and that still are told to this day? If you do know the answer to any of these question speak up now and tell the class. There must be some story you can tell us."

Abel rolled up his shleves and took a seat on the top of an open desk in the front row and wait for someone to talk. The was went he saw the girl at the back. She wore a black necklace with a cross pendent. Something about the girl caught his Blue eyes and would not let them go.

When she found the classroom , she chose the back like she always did when she went to highschool. This would make the 39th highschool she had attended within 367 years , and some years she even traveled around the world , taking innocent victims lifes and killing over 1,000 victims within her years. Oh well , the world was populating and some of those victims weren't so innocent afterall. Tayla smiled as the teacher walked in. Apparently , she wasn't the only new person this year. That was good , at least. When the teacher announced the death of a teacher , Tayla began to think. Was it her that caused that death? If she could only see a picture of that teacher.

When the man's eyes locked on hers , Tayla grinned at him and she spoke up as she leaned back in her chair and crossed her arms on her chest. "Rumor is , back in the day , there was vampires that roamed this town. That they had human slaves that were bound to them that they used to drink blood from , since the population then wasn't that high , they used one human to drink from until that human got so weak , that they died off and the vampire got a new human. I was once told that the town use to be completely filled with vampires only and that there was a war between the vampires and humans , because of the religious belifs of humans. Many believe vampires where a bit of satan inside of people." she said and smiled , running a hand through her hair again. "Of course... it's only a myth , I suppose." she said. Tayla knew that it wasn't just a myth thought. Years ago , she lived in this very town and she knew exactly what happened.

Abel smiled, IT was about time that he got some student that knew some history about the world. With lot of engery He jump off the table and bounced to the board. Write the world Vampire on the board.

"That is just one of the myths about this small town. I was reading a book about the history of this town on my train ride here. The book stated the Vampire myth that Miss...." Abel paused and looked at the class list for her name. "Tayla. The other myths I read about were The a women who lived in this town. One day the town people took the poor women and trapped her in a well, beacuse they thought she was a witch. Belive it or not this town also have myths about Trolls and werewolfs."

Once again he began to pace infront of the class. "These myths all came into being beacuse of the forst which lays around the town and beacuse the church wasnted people the fear what they do not know. Infact this School was a huge church before it was converted into a Highschool. You can see parts of the old church all other this school. Just look up and see fopr your self" He finshed his speach bt poniting to the Angel statue that poked out of the stone wall above his desk.

"Can anyone tell me why the church was change into a school?"

Tayla smiled as she listened to the teacher talk. It was quite interesting to listen to someone that knew this kind of stuff. But , the difference was he thought it was a myth and Tayla knew that it wasn't. She smiled again when he talked about witches. She remembered the witches. Thought there wasn't many of them left anymore , she still knew a couple. Trolls were scarce these days and they simply hid out in tropical forests. Werewolves rarely showed themselves either. But Tayla knew a few as well. Vampires were the biggest supernatural race that still exsisted.

Tayla knew bits and peices why the church was turned into a school. But , it wasn't something that human's believed. And if she wasn't mistakened , when the church was turned into a school , she was out in Mexico , partying with Mexican Vampires and making and inventing Mexican food. Where did people think the chimichanga's came from? But , this time Tayla was quiet. She didn't want to come off as a smart ass (literally) , and she didn't want to seem like she knew too much.

"What? no one knows this." Abel shrugged and moved onto the nexted topic. "All the cultures of the world have myths just like this town. Its what makes up the core of society. Now this is what i want you to do. The first capter of the text book is about Egyt. I want you all to read it by the end of the week and we will have a test on what you learned." The bell rang people jumped up and started for the door. Abel yellwed so people could still hear him "I will be in the class room at lunch and after school if you need help with the homework"

Tayla smiled at the homework given to them. She had been to Egypt. It was a quite extraordinary place , and she knew she didn't have to read no text book for a test about it. When the bell rang , Tayla took her time leaving the room. She wanted to be last so she could talk to the teacher. She ran a hand through her hair , walking up to the desk where the teacher was. "You did great for your first day. I'm new too. I just moved here from England. Great hair stylist there." she said with a grin and laugh , before walking out of the class room and to her next class , giving a wave before she completely walked out.

Abel followed, not knowing why he was doing what he was doing. When he final caught up with the girl he spoke softly so there conversaion could not be hear by others.
"It was nice that you spoke up in class. I was sure that no one knew what i was talking about. You know alot about this town. I was thinking about coming up with a project that made kids learn about this towns history in the best why they could..." He paused for a second know he should ask the next question "Would you help me with that make-up the assingment?"

Tayla turned around when she noticed that the teacher was trying to catch up with her and she smiled at him. But then she bit her lip and thought about what he said. Would it be safe for her to be around humans...alone...? Tayla had great control of herself , but when vampires where thirsty , their fangs grew long instantly and the smell of blood was hard to resist. She smiled and took a deep breath , even thought it wasn't needed. "I'd be happy to. Would you want to get started on it after school today? Because I'm busy tomorrow after school...." she said and nodded. Tomorrow , she would be going to a vampire club a few miles away. Vampires still lived in this town after all.

Failing to hide his excitment at this idea he replied "I would love to. I will leave the door open for you to comeing" With that Abel pulled away from the girl and left her in the hallway. He know that this afternoon would be fun

When school ended , Tayla walked down to Mr. Abel's room and she walked in , no one was in there except for him and she smiled , and leaned againist the door frame of the class room. "Well , hello there." she said and then stood , and walked in the class room , closing the door behind her and sat on one of the desks. "So , I wanted to ask how long we would be working today. Probably only for a few hours , right? You probably have a family to go home to." she said with a nod and smile.

Abel's glasses have sliped to the end of his nose by the time he looked up from the book he was reading. With one finger Abel gracefully push his glasses back to a comfortable spot. "Oh, yeas. I guess only untill 4 o'clock or 5 at the latest.. No. I live alone. If i keep you longer then that your parents might being to wonder where you are. This is a small and safe town but there still are dangerous people out there."
Abel motioned to thechair which had been pulled to the front of his desk. "Come and sit with me. I was just reading a old book i found in the school libary"
He showed the cover to her. It looked like it had been made int he late 1700's. Goth art and lettering spralled across the cover in gold paint and with great detail. The same lettering was repeated on the inside. "It outlines the history of the town, a told by the chruch. From the little bit i have read, It states the events that lead up to the start Vampire myth. The book makes many refferances to young girl Named Tar.. Or maybe its Tay. I cant really tell. The rest of the name is scratched out.. Do you wanna take a look?" He asked softly placing the book on the table for her.

Tayla smiled and then nodded , sitting down beside him. God , the reminder of the fact that she was suppose to have parents made her sigh. She hadn't seen her parents in more than 300 years and they were probably ashes and dust by now. Tayla didn't understand why she was considered underage. Back in the day , a man became a man when they lost their virginity , and a woman became a woman simply when she got married. Before that , they were just girls and boys. "Hmm , nah. I live alone for the moment myself. My parents are on a two-month business trip." she said with a nod. The fact that this young man didn't have a family surprised her thought. Most men his age had a family , even in the modren day they did. Of course , back in the day , men got married and had kids before they even turned 20 most of the time.

When he talked about this book he found , her eyes traveled down to it and she blinked. God , she thought she'd never see that book again. She remembered it. She was the one who even help wrote it. Thought , when all the other vampires began to die off from the vampire - human war , and the years started to go by more quickly , Tayla had marked her name out of the book. She smiled as she read it. The tales , she remembered like they were yesterday. But she couldn't tell him that the girl was actually named Tayla and that it was her. Not many people were actually named Tayla afterall. "Hm , I think the girl's name is Tarela. I've heard the tales of this girl before. Man , was she a brave myth." she said and she grinned. And that myth happened to be sitting right beside him. "Read me one of the tales , please." she said and handed the book back to him. "I can't read the writing too well , myself." she said , thought she actually could. She just wanted to hear him read them , and see the look on his face from one of the tales.

"Just let me see." Abel paused flipping the pages very carefully so not the damage the book.
"There is a tale about the wolfs of the Western forest. It says here that the after a month of killings the town people lead by the church priest enter the wood to face the evil thing that had been feed on the children. There they found not just one monster but 9 human looking wolfs. There was a violent battle only the Prest was left alive..." Abel let out a chuckle "Silly peopel thinking they could take on a beast like that in the dead on night. Its like they didnt know Evil creatures are strongest at night."

Abel shifted in his seat and stoped for a second to push his glasses back up on his nose. then contiuning the myth "...as the priest looked over the bodies he found 2 wolfs still alive. Out of strength the priest could not finished the bests off. He knew if left long enought the two wolfs would regain their dark powers and take revange on the town. The priest did he only thing he could. He left and returned to the wolfs with the 5 best workers the town could give. For 5 full days they group worked. Taking stones from the Very walls of the church and walling up the beasts were they layed. When the construction was finished the Preist blessed the stones and sealed the wolf in there for the rest of time. A seconds church was then build over the stones so the a member of the chruch could always watch over the wolfs tomb..."
When Abel saw the picture of the Second chruch his Skin went white. The picture was of his house. Some things had changed over the year. The bell tower was gone and so was the Barn. But it was his house. In shock he manged to mumbled out
"This is my... hosue."

Tayla listened , and she smiled as she did , the good memories , and the bad running through her head. Tayla sighed and smiled when she heard the name of the tale. This was one of her favorite ones. Her and the wolfs had had a deal. Tayla would help them kill , and Tayla would get the freedom to go wherever the wolfs roamed without getting harmed. She had killed three of the people , so the tale was kinda untrue. When the preist had wrote this tale , he had left Tayla out simply because he hated her and didn't think she should have a part in that battle.

Tayla blinked when he stated that , that was his house. It was still standing? After all those years? She took a deep breath. She couldn't really give the reaction 'Oh my god! That is so cool! Let's go see it!' , so she thought on how she should react. She smiled when she found out a good reaction. "Wow...that's really creepy. We should really go check it out sometime thought , you know. It sounds kinda interesting." she said with a grin.

"Yah... That is creepy" Abel shivered a bit. Thinking back He couldnt remeber any stone work was in his house. He was sure that there was none, but the stone could have been covered up. If this myth was true, it would exsplain the odd sounds at night. Could those Best still be alive? A part of him wanted to find out. He closed the book and set it down on the table.

"That is something new... Now isnt it." His eyes moved to the clock. It was almost six. How could he loss track of time like this. With a smoth movement he stood and picked up his coat and the myth book. "Come on. It really late. I'll drive you home. I hope your parents are not too mad at you when you get home."
