"Very right you are, Dr. Stock. And that is where the true money is going to lie." He said as his glasses reflected the tube that was being filled, when they entered the room. "Very right you are."

The months passed by slowly for the scientists, anticipation and excitement made it hard for them to to even sleep. The pens scratched against paper, while the typing almost seemed constant. Several more experiments died and were thrown into the DNA graveyard, never to be acknowledge with a burial. Yet, Tori and Nate still thrived in their stasis tubes. Transforming slowly, but never stirring. The cords continuesly pumped the serum into their bloodstream while they stayed in their fetal positions. On the twelth month, the Scientist went over to check the progress. "Outstanding, they seem to be holding up just fine it looks like." He said, pushing up his glasses and writing somethings on his note pad. "They should wake up in a couple more months. July I should think." Several more months went by, before July finally rolled around the corner. The Scientist looked into the tubes and brushed his hand on Nate's tube. "They look wonderful. Start the next process. Get them out of the tubes, and clean them up." The technicians did as they were told and the tubes started to empty. Tori collapsed on the ground once the tube finally emptied completely, and coughed up a large amount of plasma that had replaced the air in her lungs. The cords that linked to her arms and legs were tightened until they released her from those. Her eyes slightly opened and everything looked, different. She couldn't recall where she was. She felt different too. Very different. As the technicians dragged her off to be cleaned, they emptied out Nate's tube as well releasing him from the cords. |
Dr.Stock was hovering over the technicians shoulders, almost shaking with joy. My experiments, they've gone so well so far. He smiled, scratching down notes onto his clipboard and walked over to Nate's tube as the staff emptied his.
Nate started coughing up the plasma and couldn't help but let out a small whimper of pain. His hearing was starting to come back as plasma leaked out of his ears. Everything was loud, it was different. He opened his eyes and quickly slitted them, the room was bright, too bright for his eyes. He bristled at the touch of the technicians when they picked him up and dragged him after Tori to be cleaned as well. "They... It... I think they'll survive." Dr.Stock smiled over to the higher ranked scientist. |
The scientist smiled. "Yes. I think they will survive Dr. Stock." He said following after as they dragged Nate off towards the showers.
Tori curled up and whimpered as the water hit her. Something was definately wrong. Her drenched skin... no it didn't feel like skin... Her drenched hand slowly moved towards her shoulder and spread her fingers along her shoulder. Thick fur pressed up against her fingers and palm. She let out a scream as she started to feel her body with her hands. Fur covered her shoulder blades and the ends of her arms and legs. The scream itself felt louder than it should've and she quickly brought her hands to her ears, only to find that her ears were higher up on her head. Thin fur lined around her nose, and when she pulled her hands away from her face she could see her elongated nails. They looked like a feline's claws! What was going on? A spotted tail wrapped around her torso and settled in her lap, and now as her eyes adjusted to the light she realised that her body was covered in these strange spots. She looked up at the door through the water that kept hitting her in the face, then it all came back to her. Everything. She tried to stand, but when she managed to get up on two legs she fell back down. "What have you done to me?!" a growl echoed from her throat as well as her voice. Her eyes narrowed as she tried to brace herself against the wall. ((OOC: Tori has been spliced with the DNA of a Clouded Leopard.)) |

Thanatos's ears were buzzing, there was a noise that seemed to be growing louder and louder until he realized it was him that was making it. Growling? Why...Where? The man was lost in his own thoughts, wanting to get free, he started struggling again. He slid across the ground when the technicians tossed him into a shower cell and froze when the water hit him. The chemical smells and the scents of the technicians stung his nose. With a loud sneeze he opened his eyes to try figuring out his surroundings. His vision had changed, the colors were off, only being able to see colors close to red and yellow, along with the shades of black and white. With a small grunt he half crawled out of the direct flow of the water, enjoying the feel of it on his fur. Fur... rust colored fur. He moved his hands over his arms, feeling the fur under the coarse pads on his palms. He smiled a toothy grin, feeling the muscles under his arms held powerful potential. He ran his hands across his body, feeling where all the fur covered, his back, feet, legs, forearms, hands, and neck. His beard had grown in thicker than usual and his nose had slits on the sides and lighter fur grew on the inner sides of his arms and legs. A long tail wagged slowly as he took a look around, "I smell... food." He let out a bark of a laugh. |
(Yeah. He's an animal after all. ;D)
They dragged Tori out of the shower placing shackles on her once again and dragging her into the same cell that Zach was in. She braced herself up with her two arms as she stared at the ground and laid her weight onto her right hip. Her ears picked up every sound and twitched towards the sounds. The smells, the sights... all of them were new and it terrified her. They watched Nate, as if he were in a specimen jar. They're faces were pressed against the glass as they watched him as he paced around the shower. His body took more of the animalistic features than Tori's had, and he was gorgeous. The Head Scientist grinned wide as his hand barely touched the tempered glass. But these were Dr. Stocks projects, and that meant that they were his to take care of... for now. But he vowed to take them off his hands, very... very soon. |
Zach looked down from one of the higher perches in his cell, "Well hello there." He smiled, "I'm glad you made it, I'm Zach." He smiled, cheerful that he now shared a cell with somebody. He jumped down, his wings shooting out and glided him down until he landed next to her.
Dr. Stock was watching the cell with Zach and Tori in it, wanting to make sure that they wouldn't tear each other to shreds. Thanatos smiled as he laid back in the water, enjoying the warmth until the shower was over and he was shackled as well and led into the same cell as the others. He snapped at the technicians while they bound him and looked everywhere, taking in the new scents. His pointed ears twitched as they picked up sounds, "Food. Bring me food." He growled at the scientists he saw, his unending hunger seemed to stab at him. |
Tori jumped up and went over to a genetically grown tree, her nails gripping onto the bark as Zach landed beside her. Her eyes quickly refocused as her ears folded back, while her tail flicked from side to side. The pupils of her eyes narrowed as she focused in on the feathers that ruffled on his wings.
The tightening grip of hunger twisted her stomach. The sound of the bird's fast heartbeat made her croutch as if about to pounce on the bird. Her tail flicked back and forth, but this strange impulse to attack ceased when they threw in Thantos with them. Her ears twitched forward as she looked at the changed man, before she looked back to Zach. "I'm... Tori..." She said, quietly. |
(A bird, a cat, and a dog... Sounds like a comedy waiting to happen. lol)
Zach noticed the way the feline was acting and took a few steps back, grateful that the newcomer broke her trance, "Hi Tori... Hopefully you'll be able to have control over your animal half soon... I don't want to hurt that pretty little face of yours." He smiled with a predator's gaze, "If you can control yourself, then you'll never have to worry." Thanatos pushed up onto his hands and feet after he was thrown, growling once more. The sound was becoming more pleasing to him now, "Food... Bring it NOW!!" He howled loudly, his tail wagged at the sight of the two anthros, "I see prey." He smiled, licking his lips and taking deep breaths, his nose flaring with every sniff. "Uh, we're not prey... Good doggy?" Zach jumped up into the tree next to Tori, "Please tell me that you know him... Maybe he won't attack if he recognizes you?" He hoped that his quick plan would work. Nate's blunt nails clicked on the ground as he slowly moved forward. "Should we separate Thanatos from the others, or hope that he doesn't harm them?" Dr.Stock asked the other scientist curiously. He was nervously gnawing on the tip of his pen, "I think we should toss in half of a cow and see if he goes for it as it is." |

'...I don't want to hurt that pretty little face of yours.' The goshawk spoke, watching her. Her eyes narrowed once again. A compliment and a threat, so the oversized bird had a sense of humor. She flexed her claws and digged them into the bark of the tree. "... Trust me, I don't want to break your pretty little wings either..." She growled, before looking back down at Nate who was looking at them with hunger in his eyes. ' Please tell me that you know him... Maybe he won't attack if he recognizes you?' Zach said as he jumped into the tree with her. She continued to stare at Nate, with large eyes. "Maybe... But I don't think he will." She said quietly. She moved across the limb of the tree, digging her nails into the bark and using her tail as a balance before just flipping entirely. She hung from underneath the branch like a bat would to get closer to Nate, before letting go completely. Her body was much more agile and she did a back flip as she fell from the branch to land on all four legs. Strange as it was for her, it was also second nature. She stood and turned to face Nate. Her eyes softened, "... Nate...? I'm Tori... remember?" She asked taking a step towards him, and holding out her hand. The Scientist turned to face Dr. Stock, "This is your project now, you can either feed them or seperate them into seperate rooms or leave them in there and see if they kill one another. Though... if you let them kill one another, I will be sure to kill you." He said with a tootful grin, "I, however, have new quests that are awaiting a new life. It seems that the tranquilizers where what was keeping these completetions from happening. Goodbye Doctor." He finished before walking off to the experiment room. |
Nate's grin widened when Tori drew closer, "You smell good..." He let out a small growl, "Good like food." He took a step forward, looking her in the eyes and wanting to eat.
Dr.Stock looked from the Scientist to the cell, "Toss in the meat." The technicians nodded and a group of men opened the doors and half of a freshly killed cow was thrown in. Zach looked at the hunk of bloodied meat slightly repulsed at the sight, "What is that?" He was completely shocked at the sight at it. Nate looked over at the meat and back at the other two before running over on all fours and started eating. He glared at the two, wanting the meat for himself. "I... it's working." Zach smiled weakly and clung to the tree branch. |
The smell was alluring but the sight was repulsive. Tori raised a hand and narrowed her eyes as she watched Nate feed off the dead carcass. She walked over to the tree and had to brace herself, as she wanted to throw up.
Her stomach twisted again, it was painful this time around forcing her to double over and clench her stomach. "God...." It must've been the smell, because everytime she inhaled it just kept getting worse. She looked up at Dr. Stock who was peering through a window and narrowed her eyes at him. She bared her canines (Which had grown a little longer), as her tail flicked from side to side. She remembered him... |
Dr.Stock smirked at the sight of Tori glaring at him, "Hiss at me?" He half growled and slammed his fist down on a large red button. The button triggered a hose to drop out of a section of the ceiling and the hose sprayed high pressured water on the feline. The man smiled and looked to the other two buttons, a yellow and blue one, "Hopefully this will teach you." He grumbled and lifted his hand off the button.
(Those damn evil buttons.) Zach jumped when the water started spraying, flapping his wings nervously and moving away from the disturbance in the cell, "That's new." He shook a bit out of nervousness, hoping that was the only hose that would come out. Nate froze at the sight of the hose, wondering what the contraption was. His slitted nose flared as he took in deeper breaths, his lungs were larger and took most of the room in his barrel chest. He shook his head before returning to his meal, soon was full and moved away, not caring about the meat any longer. He laid on his side, watching the two with curiosity. |
Tori threw up her arms to guard herself from the pressure of the water, before glaring at him and slamming her fists against the window over and over. Her body was soaked, the fur that she did have matted together as well as her strand of shoulder length hair. When the water ceased she slammed her fists on the pane of glass again, baring her teeth completely. "You better hope I don't get out of this blasted cell... I will murder you." She growled as she slammed her shoulder up against the glass. The pane rippled as she put all of her strength, before returning towards the tree. Her tail wrapped around her feet before she turned to face Nate.
"What?..." She growled as her ears folded back. |
Zach watched, his feathers still ruffled up a bit from being nervous, "Well... That's new..." He shook his head, trying to get his feathers back down. He looked over at the scientists before adverting his gaze back down to Tori, "You all right?"
Dr.Stock stayed where he stood while Tori slammed her fists against the window, getting ready to hit the button again if she went more out of control, "Next time we'll hit a different, more fun button." He smiled to himself. Nate blinked a few times before coming up with how to respond, the effort contorting his face slightly, "I... y-you familiar." His voice was thick and rough from the new vocal cords. He looked from Tori to Zach, his nose flaring with every sniff of the air, "He... not." |
Tori's eyes softened, as her ears slowly started perk again. The animal definately dominated him. For the small time that they did know one another, it was enough to make him a friendly face after such a traumatizing experience.
However, now it was clear that he didn't feel the same. She turned to Zach first, "Yeah... I'm fine..." She said quietly. Water streams trickled down through her fur, tickling her nerves. Her arms and legs twitched trying to get rid of the odd feeling. "Yeah... we met before they stuck us in the tubes... remember?" She said looking at Nate. |
Thanatos looked up at her, staring now as he tried to think of the time before the test tubes, "...Name T-T...Tori." He smiled up at her with his tail wagging, happy that he had remembered her name, "Tori... friend." He barked out before moving over to the base of the tree on his hands and feet. His spine had changed so it was easier to run on all fours rather than walk on his feet.
"Hopefully Stock will stop bothering us... He's been paying more attention to the cell now that you two were brought in here. Are you his experiment?" Zach asked curiously. |
Tori raised an eyebrow and gave a small smile to Nate "Yes, my name is Tori. I guess you could call us friends..." She said quietly. Her tail flicking behind her her skin beneath her fur continued to twitch. Unable to stand it anymore she plopped down on the floor. She pressed her shoulder forward, and turned her head before she startled licking the water off from her fur. When Zach spoke again, she stopped and turned her head to face him. "His.. experiment? Who's Stock?"

"Fri-end?... Like mate?" He moved closer to her, his tail thumping happily against the ground with an audible thump.
Zach couldn't help but burst into a fit of laughter when he heard what Nate said, "Wow... Animal much?" He laughed and shook his wings, jumping over to a rope that hung from the ceiling and held onto it, "Stock, " He let out another chuckle, "Stock is the scientist you hissed at and sprayed you." |
Tori had to do a double take with Nate, just because she couldn't believe what she just heard. "M-Mate? No. No. No. Not mate... Just... Friend." She said taking a step to the side to move away from him. Her focus was no longer on grooming herself but the potential of someone pouncing her. Her ear flicked back as she heard Zach, "But he wasn't the one barking orders in the testing area... it was that man with the glasses." She said as she continued to watch Nate.

Nate looked at her with a bit of a sigh, "My Tori." He let out a small protective growl when he noticed Zach up in the air. His nose flared out once again as he tried to figure out who Zach was.
"Then it had to be the head Scientist who was telling them what to do." Zach looked down at them, tempted to see how much control Nate had, "She's not your mate, she's pack, not mate." He explained to the feral man. |
The words seemed to ring in her ears. Mate? No, she was Tori. Animal instincts weren't as strong as his, or Zach's...
She took another step away from Nate and one step closer to the tree. Her hand pressed up against the bark. It wasn't until she was up in the tree before she spoke again. "The head scientist? Then... what does Stock have to do with anything, and why would we be his experiment?" She glanced back to the window where Stock had been/was. The thought of being owned was rather disturbing... and to be honest, she didn't like it one bit. The first chance she got, she was going to make a break for it. |
Nate looked up at the winged man before turning to look at Tori and back to Zach, "Pack...Not mate..." He let the words roll around in his mind before he nodded a bit, "Tori pack." He reached up, trying to climb up the tree and growled crossly every time he fell to the ground.
Zach moved down on his rope to the end of the rope, "Stock is one of the scientists that are rising in power... He likes to hurt those he doesn't care for..." He glanced over to the window and saw Stock was watching over them like a worried parent. His gaze was quickly adverted and moved down next to Nate, "Hey buddy... We pack." He smiled and scratched the wolf-man behind the ears. Nate smiled and his foot twitched a bit, "Nice." He grumbled softly. |
The news was not appealing to her in the slightest. She brushed back some of her hair and glanced over her shoulder to the rising scientist. Her eyes narrowed, before she turned her attention back to Nate before slowly moving down to where he was again. He seemed to grasp the understanding of her as a pack and not a mate. She sat down beside him, her tail curling around her feet and hands.
Not to mention, seeing him try and struggle up the tree just wasn't something she enjoyed. |
