coy felt the dizzyness lift. but he was still fatigued. "Thanks, Akane. I wish the rest of the world were like you. Then there would be no conflict. C'mon, lets get moving before the towns people find us." he said to akane.

She blushed at his comment a nodded, following him. "So, where are we off too again?" Akane asked Coy.

coy pulled out the map again, making sure he wasnt holding it upside-down. "we'll have to go back the way we came, then continue from there." he said, looking at the seemingly random lines of the map.

She looked over his shoulder at the map of confusing lines. "Uhm.. yeah. Sounds good to me." She said not knowing which way was which on that silly map. "This is going to be a long adventure." She stated nonchalantly. "Good thing I am with in with someone I like, right Coy?" She smiled widely at he then skipped ahead.

he slightly blushed at this statement, and shook his head. he started walking, leaning on his hammer for support. "hey, dont go so fast, that last spell took a lot of energy outa me." he said to Akane. Does she ever run out of energy? |
"Oh, sorry Coy." She smiled at him. "I have something that will help with that too. If you I mean." She feel back beside him. "Are you sure you are going to be okay?" She asked curious and concerned.

"ill be fine, im just a bit tired, tis all." he said as he looked at her, an awkward half smile appearing on his face. Zig had fallen asleep on his head again. the terrain they were walking on was mainly rocky with a few patches of grass scattered here and there.

"Okay then," She grinned at him. "Let the real adventure finally begin!" Akane jumped into the air laughing. "This is gonna be so great, huh Coy?" She gazed at him with a smiled plastered on her face.

The two had been walking for hours. they passed their home towns a few minutes ago and coy was about ready to stop, but Akane still had pep in her step. "Akane," coy said, stopping and leaning heavily on his hammer. "can we rest, its getting dark again, and i was tired when we started. the map says there's a cave around here that we can rest in."

Akane stopped abruptly at looked back at him. "Okay. Since your so tired why don't Zig and I go look for the cave real quick?" She asked, wondering if Coy really was okay.

Coy squabled something do zig and the owl shook his head. "fine, ill try to go along..." he whispered to the owl. "He doesnt want me to stay behind in my condition, so ill try to keep going. you know how to read a map?" he asked.

She looked at him blankly. "Nope, not one bit. But I have never gotten lost before. Just point me in the general direction. I will have that cave found in no time." Akane smiled at him, but the smile broke when she saw how weak he really was.

"Alright then..." he said in a gruff tone. "The cave should be somewhere over......" His eyes skanned the map. "There should be a rock formation in front of it...there!" he said. The entrance was half visible, poking out the side of a column of stone. Coy started walking, but fell on his face.

"Coy!" Akane screeched rushing to his side. "Coy, oh my god. I knew you were not okay. Crap. Can you move?" She asked before trying to pick him up.

Coy gave no answer to Akane's cries. He was out cold. He just layed there, dreaming the dream he had since they left.

"Zig, show me the way to the cave please. I need to get Coy out of the heat and see what's wrong." She picked up Coy on her back, thanking the heavens above she used to do most of the house work. "It's okay Coy, I'll get you back to 100% in no time." She said worriedly more to herself then Coy.

Zig led Akane to the cave, flying and landing every few feet to look back at Akane. Once inside, Zig fluttered on Akane's head as she set him down on the wall.
A few hours had passed and a thunder storm had started up. Coy grunted and slowly opened his eyes. he was sitting in front of a camp fire. "What happ...ah!" he shouted when he tried to sit up. |
"Coy! Don't get up, you hurt yourself when you fell back there. It is just best if you do not move until the muscle pain goes away." Akane walked over to to coy and knelt beside him. "Here, let me help you in the best way I can Coy," She placed her hand against his back gently. "Vigoratus." Akane whispered almost incoherently, her hand covered in an aqua blue like water. "That should do it for now," She said sitting back n her heels. "You had me really worried for a while there." She looked and Zig and gently ruffled his feathers. "You had Zig pretty worried to, he showed me to the cave you know."

Coy felt some of the pain lift from his back. "did he now? Since when did you start taking orders from her?" he said, laughing, then cringing at the pain. it didnt go away completely...
"thanks," he said, laying against the wall. "What would i do without you? i would be some vultures dinner if not for you." he said, raising an arm and brushing a bit of hair away from akane's face. their eyes met once again, but this time they stayed locked together. |
Akane just stared at Coy, unable to tear her gaze away from his mesmerizing eyes. "Coy..." She said, almost in a whisper. She gently placed a hand on his arm, letting her fingers dance along his muscles.

Lightning flashed outside the entrance. Coy leaned forward towards Akane's lips, despite the pain in his back. right before they met, before their lips touched, coy heard shouts from the entrance. he quickly turned his head toward the opening, only to see the villagers out in the rain. "There they are!" one said, pointing to the cave. "dangit,Terra garosa firma!" coy said, causing the ground to collapse into a crater under the villagers near the entrance, but the others were still coming after them, running around the newly created hole. Coy cringed in pain. "I cant....I cant use any more magic." he said.

Akane's eyes widened in amazement at how they found them. Standing up she stepped in front of Coy putting a hand up to protect him. "It is okay Coy, I can hold my own," She looked back at him, eyes a blaze with power. "and you when you can't."
Akane raised a hand toward the villagers. Hand twitching in power, she began her chant to rid them of the villagers. "Servo ego quod amicus." She began, almost in a whisper. "Iacio absentis phasmatis malum." Her voice raised, hair thrashing around her from the power. "Ostendo mihi vox EGO, quod succurro mihi fio verus!" Akane ended, yelling and slashing her hand through the air at the villagers. She sent a water wave, a wall almost at the villagers. Sending them back, far away from the cave and into the night. |
"wow...that was incredi......" coys voice trailed off. the last spell was too much for him. he slipped back into the sleep state he was in before.

Akane let out a heavy sigh and wiped the sweat from her brow before walking over to Coy and kneeling beside him.
"It is okay Coy," She whispered to him, brushing her fingers along his cheek. "When you can't fight, I will. With enough power for the both of us." She chanted a small barrier spell before kissing Coy's forehead and drifting of to sleep herself. |
Coy sat up, feeling much better. He stretched his arms out and yawned. he got up, walking outside. he shaded his eyes with his forearm when the sun drifted to his face as he walked. there wasnt a cloud in the sky, and not a villager in sight. the warmth of the sun felt good.
Akane was still asleep, zig naping on her head. coy smirked as he flipped the eggs on his frying pan, which was placed over the fire. zig woke up, giving a little yawn. when he noticed the eggs, he shrieked. "zig, thier chicken eggs, its not like I'm cooking you." Coy laughed. |
