Akane's jumped with the shriek from Zig. "Zig.." She mumbled, still half asleep. "That was right in my ear you know." Akane sat up rubbing her eyes vigorously with Zig still perched upon her head. When she finally stopped rubbing her eyes she saw Coy awake. "Coy!" Akane shrieked in much the same tone as Zig had. "Your awake!" She stated the obvious as she ran over to him. "Are you okay now?" Akane asked with much worry in her voice as her eyes glistened with unshed tears. "You had me so worried.." She murmured looking away.

coy stood up, holding the finished eggs. "ya, im fine now, just needed some sleep, tis all." he said, laughing. "sorry about zig, you must've thought someone was dying." coy said, patting zig's head. his voice softened. "thanks akane."

Akane blinked at him in suprise at his softness. "No problem Coy. Just.. just don't ever worry me like that again. Please." She looked at him, not knowing what to say. But, wanting to attack him with a hug, overjoyed that he was now alright.

Coy pulled a few slices of bread from a bag in his pack. he placed an egg on each, and handed one to akane. "eat up, we got a long ways to go." he said, then he attacked his own piece of bread.

Akane looked at the egg for a moment before taking it. She just couldn't understand Coy's moods, they always confused her. As she was chewing on her breakfast she contemplated what had happened the night before. "Hey Coy," She began, furrowing her brows. "I don't even really remember what I did last night. I have never had to use magic like that before. I can't even remember ever being taught anything like that before either." She stated confused and finishing up her breakfast.

coy stopped chewing and looked up, swallowing his food. he wiped his mouth with his arm and said, "well, whatever it was, it was some of the most powerful magic i have ever seen." the two were sitting on a couple of rocks accross from each other. he leaned over and put a hand on her shoulder. "hey, dont worry about it. you were just protecting a freind." he said with a smile. he sat back and continued to devour his breakfast. What happened to us last night.... he thought, thinking about right before the villagers attacked them. he blushed a bit.

Akane nodded at him, still wondering how she could have possibly conjured up such a powerful spell. "Of course I was protecting a.. friend." She finished blushing a bit, remembering almost kissing him last night. "I mean, why wouldn't I protect you?" She asked looking away, and blushing a bit more. Akane decided it was better to just be quiet for now. She didn't need Coy to know how weird that was for her, or how bad she wished she had kissed him.

coy swallowed the last bit of his food and stood up. "well, im alright, and your alright, so i think we should continue on today, as long as i keep the map right side up." he laughed. he picked up his pack and slung it over his shoulder, picking his hammer with his other hand.

Akane just nodded and picked her things up slinging them over her shoulder. "I think Zig has taken a liking to me." She noted looking up to see him still pearched upon her head.
"So, which way are we off to now?" Akane asked catching up to Coy ande looking over his shoulder at the map. |
"well, we just passed out villages, and our first destination is the ocean....here." coy said, pointing to the giant blue mass to the left of the random lines that made up the rest of the map, making sure north pointed up. "i have a friend up there. this map we have only has our little country on it, they have a word map. the neutral zone is somewhere past the ocean." coy said, turning his head so he can see Akane. He stared at her absentmindedly for a few seconds, then snapped out of it and returned his focus on the map.

"Past the ocean?" She asked eyes wide. "I have never even been near an ocean before. Does that mean we can said over one?" She asked excitedly with a smile on her face. "Wait, you have a friend up there? How?" She asked, suddenly curious. She thought Coy had never been anywhere out of their own towns.

"Yes, and old friend, actualy. she used to visit our village back in the day, but i havn't seen her in a while. I hope she still remembers me." coy said. the two were walking now, and the dead-ish wasteland had gradualy turned into a large grassy plane. "we should be there in a day or so." coy smiled at akane. "lets try to stay alive for one more night."

"She?" Akane asked it a light tone but was more worried than anything. "I do not remember a girl visiting. It must have been before I meet you" She replied smiling. Someone that has know Coy longer than me..? "I think we can stay alive if I have anything to say about it." Akane stated sure of herself.

The two had been walking for hours. Coy looked up from the map every once in a while. "now if im not mistaken, there should be a water fall around he..." coy's voice was lost in a steady rush of noise. When the two turned the corner, they were met by a giant wall of water, rocks poking out from its surface at random areas, and beneath it was a large crystal clear lake. "Whoa..." was all coy could manage.

Akane's eyes got wide staring at the falls. "They are so beautiful.." She whispered, unable to say anything else. The beauty of a natural thing amongst all the chaos of the war just amazed her. She would be happy staying here in this serenity for as long as she could. "Do you think we could swim?" She asked Coy cautiously, afraid to break the mood.

Coy walked over to the water and dipped his bare foot in it. "Brrrrr....its cold." Coy said, quickly pulling out his foot. "I think a reaxing swim wont be much of a bother after what we've been through." Coy laughed.

Akane laughed openly at his reaction to the water, loving how playful Coy was. "I can warm the water up from you a little bit if it really is too cold for you." Akane laughed. "After what we've been through, in this short amount of time, we should get an award for staying alive." Akane thought aloud, thinking back to last night where she feared for her life.

"your not gonna pee in it to warm it up, are ya?" Coy laughed at this. Coy took off his shirt and jumpped into the water with only his pants on, going below the surface.He was under for a few seconds, then his head poked out of the water. "Ittttsssss rrreeaaaallly ccccoooooolllllddddd...." he said, shivering.

Akane laughed at him while he chattered loudly. "That's what you get for jumping in like that." She smiled so big her dimples showed. "Here, this aught to help you, maybe." Akane said, still smiling. "tepidus, refoveo." Akane whispered, hand directed in the direction of the water. Quickly the water began to ripple and turned soothingly hot like springs. "I hope that is okay." Akane said grinning as she took off a few layers before joining Coy in the nice water.

"That waterfall is making the water cold again..." coy said to himself. "Circen uthanos." he wispered, causing a bunch of rocks to rise up from under the water and sectioning off the area where Akane and Coy were from the rest of the lake. "There we go..." coy said, floating on his back with his eyes closed. "I needed this a long time ago...."

Akane smiled at Coy, it was nice to see him relaxed once again. "I think we just need a massage. I think all that running messed me up." She laughed, ducking her head under the water. 'as close to a real bath im gonna get for a while..' She thought to herself opening her eyes under the water to see her hair swirling around her.

Coy opened his eyes. The sky was a clear blue with a couple small couds here and there. He went underwater, his feet splashing the surface before he dissapeared. wow, the floor is realy far down... he thought, staring into the dark waters under them and swiming a little to the right, causing him to run into akane. his head poped up from the surface. "er...sorry..." he said, rubbing his head.

Akane popped out of the water with Coy. "It's okay." She said flashing him a bright smile and rubbing her shoulder. "It is so pretty out here, isn't it?" She asked, smiling lightly and poking Coy's head. She loved the water to much, it was just so soothing and relaxing.

"Ya, its beutiful, just like you...uuuurrrr magic." Coy said. Almost blew it..... he thougt, retreating shyly underwater. It felt wierd not having his feet planted in the earth.

Akane caught on to Coy's slip of the lip. "Coy.... did you just..." Akane looked away blushing. 'He did not just say that'. She looked back at Coy seeing him ducking under the water looking unrelaxed again. "Did you call me cute..?" Akane asked timidly.
