She was running, not for her life but for the life of another. She would have never guessed that she would be on the run with the knowledge that once she stopped she was going to die. It was a fate she accepted bcause in the end the most precious thing in her existance was what would be spared. She gripped the bundle in her arms more tightly as she ran down the deserted sidewalks of the city. It was one of those rare moments in time very early in the morning when those who were out late night partying were just hitting their beds and those who woke up for work early were not yet hearing their alarm clocks. The air was misty with rain that threatened to turn heavy at any moment. She slasphed through grimy puddles and tried not to trip over her own feet. She soon found what she was looking for; a small clinic. She opened one of the two glass doors and slid in. The waiting room was deserted and the nurse at the counter was looking at a computer screen and paying her no heed. She laid her bundle in a chair near the door and left. She ran all the faster to lead them away before they found her. She turned down an alley and gasped when she ran smack into a solid chest.
"Worthless, bitch," he murmured. Her eyes widened a split second before her throat was slit. She managed to die with a smile though; her child would not be found before it was time. Back at the hospital the nurse jumped in her chair as the baby in the chair begain wailing.
Seventeen years later.
"Have fun on Christmas break, Masium!"
Masium glanced up from his locker and waved to the group of his friends passing by him. Christmas break was always a good time for him. His birthday was the twenty-fifth. He got double presents and he always loved it.
Masium stood at a solid six foot four inches of muscle made lean by being on the swim team. His skin was sunkissed from spending hours at the beach about an hour away. His features were strong and he had a well cut jaw. His eyes were a bright shade of lavander. His hair fell in dark curls around his face, curling at the nape of his neck with natural strange golden heighlights. He knew he was attractive; he had the dating record to prove it.
He stuffed his last book away and shut his locker. For two weeks he was going to be free of school work. He walked out of the highschool and toward his car. It was an old beat up green thing but he loved it. He had to do matinance on it often but it was worth it. He opened the door and froze. He lifted his head to scan the area, his eyebrows drawing together. He had the distinct impression he was being watched. That was the forth time this week and the gaze always felt harsh. He saw no one specifically watching him. Masium frowned and slid into his car. Weird. He started the car and pulled out of the parking spot.
Meanwhile, on the roof of his school someone spoke softly, "Wind, Fire, Earth, Water; follow him and don't let the others see you!"

Nick didn't move as the others took off he was staring down at another head, with hair the exact SAME blue black of his as it moved towards the Old beat up Green car, but it was taking off already. 'no no no don't be raven don't be raven. the Figure turned and he saw silver eye's just like his own only colder and holding a quite strength. nick closed his eyes as he sensed the call of earth from his brother. Nick controlled earth, and raven controlled fire. he'd seen him do what was called by native American's a fire dance and the flames from the fire jumped to him and swirled around him. Nick could remember wishing he'd been born of the same gift. and now he wished he truly had. as he did NOT wish to fight.. perhaps kill his own brother.
Sighing he closed his eyes. he'd gone off on his 'great adventure'.. and look at the mess he had gotten into.

Raven sighed and watched as Masium took off. He'd just have to swing by his house. he paused and turned, silver eye's scanning. he could sense it but couldn't see it. shaking his head he turned and headed for his motorcycle. once on it he took off at top speed. his mind working over some glimpses of someone he was SURE was his brother. 'Damn it.. where is he..' he hadn't heard from his brother in three years. and had started hunting him down. but he also had to finish school. so it was school hopping he was damn glad no one gave him any trouble.*

A light weight settled onto the seat of the motorcycle behind Raven and slender arms wrapped around his waist. "He got away before you could talk to him, huh?" Sprite asked as she hugged him tightly. Sprite was sort of the replacement for the brother he had lost to the other side. Sprite was five feet of willowy body with nearly translucent pale skin and long true silver curls. Her eyes were the palest of silver grays. Her face was heartshaped and stuck forever as 'cute'. She wore white jeans and a white tanktop to match. "You forgot something," she added as she reached up to poke his forehead. "The makeup for your mark." On her forehead was a pentagram in a circle and at the top right point of the star was a little pearl white dot that marked her element of Wind. Right now said mark was hidden beneath concealer because otherwise people tended to stare and remember the mark, which made it all the easier for those searching for them to find them.

Raven sighed, his own was that of Earth. steady and strong. and he had a small green dot on the bottom right hand side of the pentagram that showed on his forehead. "No wonder people where staring at me." he muttered. "Figures..first day here and I'm already blowing my cover. set to go try and keep him alive?" he revved the bike and took off down the road fallowing the green car.

"If he'll let us do that!" she called over the wind that whipped past them as he drove. Actually, her voice carried very easily since it was her element. She could send messages on the wind and hear secrets whispered on it. She was a notorious gossip by nature due to that fact. She squeezed her legs around his waist as he drove so she could pull her hands back and get her concealer from her back pocket. She began to apply it carefully while he drove, looking over his shoulder to see that she got it right. Most men would have been uncomfortable with a woman wrapped around them but there were two very solid reasons why she knew he would not be. One; she was like a little sister. Two; he was gay. Or so she thought, she had never actually asked him. She put the concealer away and switched back to having her arms around him instead. "I left the other's at the hotel, they're just iching to get loose I bet!" She laughed and hugged him. Only she could find a way to laugh with the end of the world so close to coming. "And try not to be all scary to him, he is our leader. Or he will be that is." Then Sprite had one of her random thought changes. "Can we go for icecream after this? I want rumraisin with chillipeppers!"

Raven didn't even slow down as she worked on concealing that which marked him as well what he was. Raven didn't even hesitate at the change in topic. "Chili Peppers.. why the hell would you want those?" he muttered as they fallowed their.. 'ohh fearless leader' he was NOT happy. "Do you think we could get Nick back.. I know know HE'S NOT A BAD guy."
no his little brother had just been int he wrong place at the wrong time. Raven shook the thoughts from his head. there was a chance.. after all he was basically a good soul as long as he didn't KILL someone .. an innocent someone.. he'd remain well gray.. not evil but not good.*

Sprite gave him a little squeeze to indicate a hug. "He was born to the Dark, we to the Light. That's how it is. None of us chose our parts in this. All we can do is go with it and make the best of things. He may not be evil, hell, he's part of an important blance. Without Dark there isn't Light and vise versa. This clash will do something to us, I'm still not sure what though. I've done my best to translate the scrolls about the past Pentagrams but I can't make heads or tails of it all. Point is; we're all important and needed in this universe. Someone had to go to that side of things and Nick is a good choice I guess. Hey, he'lls pulling into a driveway; just drive past and we'll get him later tonight." Masium had driven into the driveway of a very nice white two story house with a bright red front door, the color seemed so bright and cheery, so welcoming. "We can get that icecream now and bother him later. Well, you'll bother him; I'll sneak into his room and pack all his crap up so we can get the hell out of dodge quickly before they show up. They already know who he is you know. They sense him just like we do. We need to take him tonight for sure before they make a move and really fuck up the universe before it's time for our war."

Raven sighed as he kept driving. "If you KNEW where he lived, why lead me on?" he slowed and parked in front of the Ice Cream shop. swinging so he sat on the bike side ways and lifted her off before she could climb off. anything to piss her off. she was fun when irritated. "and yeah I know. before they mess up the universe..the damn balance and all. I.. I felt nick at the school." he mutterd not looking at her. "Couldn't see him but i felt him."*

"I bet he could see you though," she replied as she shoved his hands away from her and humphed as she crossed her arms. "That boy is sneaky. No wonder he's used to scout. And would you have listened to me had I said I knew where he lived and not to go there?" She yanked him off his bike and along with her into the icecream palor. She went right to the counter and ordered a giant icecream cone of rumraisin and once he had his order as well she dragged him to one of the small round white tables in a corner. She laid out a map on the table that she pulled from her front pocket. She also pulled a bagy of chilipeppers from her other side pocket. Her pockets seemed magiced with all the crap she stuffed into them but in truth she was just very good at always being prepared in small ways. The map had various scribblings on it that would mean nothing to anyone but her. "After this we need to find out Centering." A 'Centering' was a place where their powers could bloom, flurrish and bind together so that they became a whole Pentagram; a group of five tied to the elements. She had circled several places in red that were preternatural meetings for the four elements, and thereby apoint for the fifth element of Spirit to appear in full strength. "The closest place to here is...this one." She pointed to a circle. "Amercrest, a really small city built into the foot of some mountains to one side, a river to another, hotsprings on a third side and thanks to the angle of the mountains the forth side is where strong winds come in often."

Raven sighed. "Yeah I bet he could. he's much better at Sneaking around, and possible assassination then I am then again I prefer going head on." he muttered.. then again he was much more.. honor bound nick.. well he was out for survival. and he would NEVER condemn his brother for that.

Nick watched as the two walked into the ice cream parlor, he'd saw his brother hesitate outside a certain house and stared at it. that would be where their leader was. but could he honestly go back and tell HIS leader where the other was? 'No I cant so..' he had to get the two in the ice cream shop to STOP him.. so that meant.. letting Raven see him. well his brother WAS dense sometimes. So he took the direct approach, he walked across the street, in front of the ice cream parlor window where they where sure to see him and paused, seeming to be contemplating something in his hand. 'come on look up one of you two look up see me and chase me away..' because if they did that.. they'd go after their leader and get him away in time..

Sprite's gaze settled on him after a few minutes. "Raven, someone wants your attention," she murmured and touched his arm. "Walk outside," she whispered, "take the map, look like you're studying it next to him and talk without moving your lips too much. Keep it short or something bad is bound to happen. You know we all get compelled to fight when we're too close for too long." She released his arm and leaned back in her seat in favor of eating her icecream slowly. She did not understand his need to be near his brother. She had given up all she had to become the Wind for the Light Pentagram. She did not miss them she did not look back and for good reason. It would mean the death of her soul and the end of their lives. When becoming something like them their past lives had to be let go or those lives got completely destoried. Best to be removed and never look back than to always look back and see devisation. She hoped to Goddess and Consort that he figured that out soon before it was too late and it compromised their jobs.

Raven looked up and caught sight of his brother, his heart twisting into a tight knot. he took a shaky breath and stood touching her shoulder in thanks and went out.

Nick didn't give him time to ask anything when he walked up to him with a map in his hold. "You have three hours, at the end of those three hours I report where he is. don't make this sacrifice not count brother." his tone was cold as he tried to hide the pain eating away at him. his brother was stupid. this was the last gift he'd give him. he fought down the need to STICK a blade in his brothers gut and forced himself to walk away, of course the idiot grabbed his arm.. Bad choice that. physical contact sent the others presence screaming through him and he twisted lashing out hard, his foot catching raven behind the knee hard sending raven to his knees in surprise. "Don't fucking touch me again.."

Raven stared up at his brother, or more like stared into his eyes. "Nick?" nick stalked away from him and he knelt there knee screaming in pain before he stood and numbly walked back into the ice cream store. "He's giving us three hours to get the kid out before he tells.." he muttered in a pained voice.

"Crap, I didn't want to move this soon," Sprite muttered. "Alright, I'll call in to the others. We're doing this the rough way. He won't listen to us in three hours. Take the clorophorm and knock him out. Drag him back to the hotel anyway you can and we need to get the hell out of town. I'll have the drugs we need to keep him knocked out for now." She stood up, taking her map back now. She was annoyed that it was now a little torn but oh well, the thing was old after all. "And make sure you stuff a bag for him and for the love of Goddess don't forget to wipe every memory in town of him ever having exsisted. I'll handle all documented proof of who he is." She hugged him and led the way out of the shop. Spirte could be very good at her job when she had to set her mind to it. She usually prefered to be more playful though; that was part of her nature as Wind. A free spirit was what she was meant to be but when it counted she was the biggest hard ass of the the small group. She gave him one more nod before the wind kicked up suddenly and in a swirl of dead brown winter leaves she was gone from sight, traveling on the winds that were meant to obey her and only a few other choice people.

Raven watched her leave and taking a deep breath he headed for the house, and using his gift, got the house to tell him were the boy was. the house was made from trees, and trees obeyed him. So did most of what humans used now a days. it was all made from the earth that nurtured them. he got the window open with no sound and slipped into the bedroom cloth at the ready and before the boy could register his presence he had it firmly over his mouth and nose and had him pinned tot he bed with his own body weight. once he was sure the boy was out he scooped him up and headed out of the room and back towards the hotel. moving fast but slow at the same time.

Coal glanced up as he heard the wind outside and he sighed. "Welcome back.." he muttered as he stood, playing with a ball of water in his palms.*

Sprite opened the door and stepped in. "Where's Flint?" she asked after scanning the room and not finding the troublesome fire anywhere to be found.
"I'm here," Flint assured as he walked out of the bathroom. Flint was five foot ten of pure undeniable trouble. Where she was free spirited he was willfully stubborn to a fault. Flint was Fire and it shown in the shades of dark burnt orange, blood red and gold that made up his braid of hair and the yellow of his eyes. Flint was handsome and he knew it and he often used his half smile that brought out a dimple to melt and charm damn near anyone. His skin was a dark caramel color, warm and beautiful. He wore well worn jeans and a dark red t-shirt that hugged just a little too well. On his forehead was a pentagram just like they all had, but his red dot for fire was at the bottom left point. "Did you find him?"
"Raven is bringing him. We had a change of plans. We had to kidnap the boy and erase him," Sprite side as she sat down on the edge of the bed. "Raven will be here any minute and then we need to get the hell out of dodge before the others find us."
"Shit, they got here already?" Flint bounced onto the bed beside her.
"I'm betting they beat us here, actually."

Coal stood at five foot even, period. he had coal black eyes and hair, and pale skin. he was fast to anger fast to cool."Great.. how the heck do we know this?"

Raven entered the room. "Easy my brother apparently still thinks of me as family and TOLD me. but we don't leave now what he faces is going to be a worthless offering of pain for us if we don't get this kid out of here.*

"You heard the man, load up in the jeep!" Sprite said as she stood. Flint was the first one out the door because the jeep was his baby and no one else drove it! He slid into the driver's seat while Sprite got into the back with the unconcious Masium to keep him drugged up. Coal was going to have to be up front with him. Normally, it was dangerous to leave them together but Sprite had no choice. Raven would be driving his motorcycle and she was the only one who knew how to properly dose the drugs out. "Pray we don't get caught," she muttered as she lifted one of Masium's eyelids to check his pupil. The wind was picking up as night fell and the stars above were being blotted out by thick, dark clouds. Silent heat lightenign back streaking the sky, lighting up the clouds in pale white bursts. "Raven! I don't like this!" she called out the window. "This doesn't feel like a normal storm!" she shouted over the rising wind. She felt power on the edge of this storm, the power of a full Pentagram. They were so screwed.

Raven cursed, they'd yet to become a full pentagram, he dove forward, taking point. being part earth the bike and the ground wouldn't dump him and if he saw something coming earth wise he could stop it.

Coal cursed, for once not attacking Flint as they roared down the road. "Ohh this is SO not fucking cool.." he muttered and sent his magic out trying to form a shield that would shift no matter where they where, much like water, it might find resistance but it COULD work its way through.

"Remember, they're more powerful than us right now for sure," Sprite said and her voice carried on the wind, barely. She knew the other Wind could muffle her words to meaningless jibberish if he so desired. Just as she knew that Nick could take Fire from Flint. Just as she knew that Elladona could take Earth from Raven. Just as she knew that Tore could steal water from Coal. They had a serious power boost with their leader, Vexi, connecting them all and him with the power to weild Spirit, the most powerful of the elements. Spirit was a blance of all four and then it was something more in and of itself.
It was Flint that spotted it coming first off to his left while he drove. He glanced over and cursed as he jerked the steering wheel just in time for the ground to come rolling up in several jutting peaks of stone. The front left corner of the car was shredded as it tore through. The jeep nearly flipped. Sprite gasped and hugged the shoulders of the boy who was half in her lap. "Coal, Flint! Find Raven!" Raven had successfully been cut off from them by a newly formed solid wall of sharp stones about a dozen feet high and most likely just as thick.

Raven heard the earth rumbling but didn't react in time as he twisted his bike side way s and slide out of the way he saw the car go flipping. "Sprite..flint..Coal FUCK.." He was off his bike and slamming his foot down hard and shoving his hand forward the earth rumbled and tried to obey but didn't move for a moment.

Sasha stalked forward dragging a very reluctant Nick with them. the boy didn't' WANT to attack the other circle but they had to. Green eyes watched in amusement as Raven tried to tear through the wall. he made disapproving sounds. "My my my you really are a rock head.." the air tore around him as he spoke making his voice suddenly slam into the male in front of him like fists and sending raven to his ass.

Coal groaned. he hurt.. he definitely hurt. "Ow.. w..what hit us.." then he remembered. "Oh.. right.. Elladora." he mumbled. "I really don't like'em.. i know I've said it before but i REALLY don't like them." he unbuckled himself and landed hard on the roof of the car, then dragged himself over to Masium and Sprite. checking them over before he checked on Flint.

"I'm fine," Flint assured as he twisted and kicked the door open to get out. Sprite dragged Masium from the car after her once she was out. The kid was damn lucky to not be concious for this crap. Not that he would have been useful awake; he was not of age yet for his powers to manifest. He was a sitting target no matter what. At least out cold he was less trouble.
"Hello, darlings," a smooth, silken voice stated. The woman standing near the car had dark rich brunette hair that fell in waves down her back and vivid green eyes edged in gold. She wore a dark silk green dress with short sleeves and a high collar and a pattern of gold flowers on it that was heaviest at the bottom and spread out toward the top with a slit up one side. Her makeup was flawless and she was beautiful.
"Elladona," Sprite hissed.
Elladona smiled. A perfect smile from perfect lips as she raised her well manicured hands. She threw her power outward. The earth cracked open beneath the jeep and Sprite had to travel in a blink on the wind to get away before both she and Masium were swallowed, which was just what Elladona wanted. With them in the Wind, Sasha could snag them. Vexi had decided he wanted Masium brought to him alive.

Sasha reached out.. Only for an elbow to slam hard into his side from Nick who then decked him hard before he could reach out and grab the fleeing elemental . he gasped as the wind was driven from his lungs. what the hell was the boy doing he KNEW Vexi WANTED the boy damn it.

Nick pulled his power to him and slammed a fist full of flames into sasha's face making the other boy scream and jerk back in surprised pain. he knew he'd pay for this but.. it was his brother. he struggled not to attack the other circle, but ended up throwing a fire ball at Coal anyways who threw up a wall of water from a container on his belt pouch. Nick focused on him, water was stronger then fire if he could focus solely on Coal he'd be fine.. he hoped anyways.

Raven got through the wall and sent a wave of earth to throw Nick and Sasha flying as he ran for his friends. calling for Sprite.*

"Here!" Sprite shouted from a few dozen feet away. She was knelt on the ground with Masium stretched out before her. Her eyes widened suddenly. "Raven!" The warning came just a second too late as a hand grabbed Raven's hair and jerked his head back just as a dagger was shoved deep into his side and twisted. The person had aimed to injure a kidney, which could mean quick bleeding out if someone did not help Raven quickly. It also meant extreme pain. Tore shoved Raven forward as he yanked the dagger out and moved away.
Tore was about six feet even with short pale blond hair and light sapphire blue eyes. He had pale skin and was handsome but for a cruel edge that always seemed to gleam in his gaze. He moved up beside Elladona who cast a glare toward the other fallen of their Pentagram.
"Morons!" she shouted. "Sasha, knock Nick out and do your damn job!" Vexi was going to be cross that they were late.

Sasha snarled and did as commanded Decking the black haired twit hard. he glared at the other two. "If you'd TOLD me he'd go freaking psycho I would of made YOU watch him.." he spat, and reached out calling the winds to his command, no way was he letting them go.

Raven snarled as his body jerked as if he'd had hot acid shoved into his side, and collapsed to the earth. no .. no this couldn't happen it would mess up the balance he had to reach his friends. he HAD to.

Edit: Coal cursed as he joined Flint and Sprite and called up the water that was his he twisted and lashed out with it as if it where a whip, but it shattered at the end sending ice shards in three directions, one at Elladona and Tore as well as Sasha.. hell nick was taken care of.
