”Don't be afraid milady. Nothing will hurt you as long as I'm here.”

The flashes became slower with more time between them. The magician throwed it from him with a yelp, making the guards rush to him. With a wave of his hand they stopped, though. His eyes narrowed into slight slits, before picking up the item again, this time only 2 flashes went before his eyes, but it made him gasp. Grasping it in his shaking hand, he quickly slid out of the room towards the kings throne room.
Barging through the doors, the king looked up and opened his mouth. He shut it quickly at the panicking look at the magicians face. ”What's wrong?” He asked uncertain and came the old friend in meeting. The magician handed him the item, earning quite the same reaction, he throwed it from his as it burned. ”What kind of hell thing is that!” He yelled, rubbing his palms. The magician just shaked his head wildly, ”Watch it to it's end!” The king obeyed gasping highly, when the last flash played. He quickly exchanged glances with the magician.

”We need to rearrange the future, by acting in the present and going to the past!”

Scenario 1 – Getting through the needle's eye
Posters hang around every corner in the small village. Just along the corner was the Labyrinth of Rebirth placed, the place where the tournament found place. 'The Phoenix Tournament' this year had quite a twist, it was a tournament for teams + It got a whole new prize and the chance to make 'neverending honour'!
Deciding to join in, you stepped away from the poster and towards the little villages inn, The Happy Chicken, and find yourself a party.

Lupe ripped one of the various posters down from the wall excited. "A tournament, a tournament!" She giggled excited, earning a few stares from the passing villagers. Then her ears fell down and layed flat on her head. "But I don't have a team," she whined mumbling. Sighing, she looked at the poster again. On it's front were painted a beatiful flaming bird.

It reminded her of her grumbling stomach. She looked down and patted it, "What did you say stomiee? You need food? Okay! Then we're going to the inn." Turning with a silent hum, she began to walk towards the inn. Getting there she opened the doors and skipped up to the counter. "I want a beef!" She said content and smiled bigly at the inn keeper, a strong looking man in his best age.

Dreamingaway 08-12-2009 08:18 PM

"Hmmm." Sander examined the poster, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. The prize was tempting, not to mention the amount of danger he would probably encounter along the way. "Alright, I accept the challenge!" he said out loud to nobody in particular. "Phoenix Tournament, here I come!"

He paused, suddenly realizing that he couldn't participate alone. Ah, that was another problem. This was going to be team work. And Sander was used to working alone. He shrugged. New experiences were always exciting, so why not? Besides, he had already announced that he was going to do it, and no respectable man would go back on his word. But where was he going to find a team? Aha! The Happy Chicken! The warrior spun around and headed towards the small inn, where he had been sleeping during his stay.

Firemare 08-12-2009 08:36 PM

Celiron leaned back in his chair as he scanned the inn. Hum, pretty little halfling (It's what he calls them!) just walked in. He sent her a saucy wink when she glanced over and beckoned her over with a devilish grin. He was between jobs at the moment, but had plently of cash to live on, so why not spend some on finding a pretty face?

Katzzie 08-13-2009 10:59 AM

Beginning to spin on the bar chair, Lupe found someone beckoning for her to come over. She blinked wondering, before abandoning her beef, to go over to him. She navigated between the tables and dodged a waitress going around with beer. As she came over to the table, she bumped down in the chair.

"Hello," she chirped happily and tilted her ears slightly to get most of the noises in the room. Her tail fell out in a hole in the chair's back, where it swished around. It nearly tripped someone. She just blinked and looked back, happy that he didn't step on it. Then she looked forward at the male.

Isendor 08-13-2009 12:02 PM

Rosemary stared the bar counter. She was sitting on a chair inside the Happy Chicken to celebrate her upcoming success with a small drink. "ShhhhIT!" She thought. She had just heard someone yelling about the tournament outside. Hadn't she ripped all the posters away from the town? The least she wanted to have were rivals. She kept staring her drink with an annoyed grin. Suddenly, she heard a word about the tounament from an old geezer behind him: "...team..."

Team... Team... Team...! Rosemary took a poster from her pocket. She opened it slowly, and there it was. A team tournament!!! How could she have missed that? Was she too excited that she didn't see that small word? Her head fell on the counter. Her plans were ruined! Or maybe not entirely, but it's hard to be noticed in a TEAM!!! "How the "#¤%& am I supposed to find one?" she mumbled and squeezed the poster.

Dreamingaway 08-13-2009 06:59 PM

As soon as Sander entered The Happy Chicken, he was distracted by an outburst at the counter. A dark elf was looking rather upset, waving a poster of the tournament in one hand. The man smiled, wondering if finding members could be this easy. He sat down next to her and leaned against the counter.

"Good day, miss! Looking for teammates, I presume?" he grinned, ordered a drink from the barman, then turned to look at the woman. "I'm searching for a team too. Would you care to gang up with me?"
He realized this was all kind of sudden, but Sander wanded to catch some people before everybody was already taken.

Firemare 08-13-2009 11:04 PM

Celiron smiled seductively at the young halfling "Hello beautiful. I saw you sitting there all alone and couldn't help but wonder what someone as lovely as you was doing in a small town like this? And alone no less!" he chuckled "Someone like you should surely be attended by at least one at all times."

Isendor 08-14-2009 10:17 AM

Rosemary raised her head from the counter. She stared the man who had sitted next to him silently. What did he ask? About the team tournament? How he knew about it?! Why everyone knew about it?!?! Rose had been so sure with ripping all the posters off! "He asked if I'm looking for a team. Like he does. Oh well, I quess I can try..." she thought and kept staring the man who seemed to be somekind of warrior.
And she stared.
And stared.

Then, she took her pocket knife and aimed to hit his hand on the counter! Sure, team mates are ok, but Rosemary was simply just curious to see his skills. And she was a bit angry anyway...

Dreamingaway 08-14-2009 02:29 PM

Sander took a sip of his drink, and waited for the woman to answer. She only stared at him. He cocked one eyebrow, staring back. Maybe she hadn't heard him properly? Or they didn't speak the same language? He was about to repeat his question when she drew a dagger out of nowhere and tried to stab his hand!

The man was so surprised that he almost drew his own weapon. He even considered not moving and letting the knife sink into his skin, just to see what would happen. But his reflex came first. He jerked his hand away so violently that he toppled over backwards onto the floor, spilling his drink along the way. Sander layed on his back, looking up at the elf.
"Okay... I guess that means no."
He was a little disappointed. A girl with fighting skills like that could really be useful as a partner in the tournament.

Katzzie 08-14-2009 05:03 PM

She blinked slightly. "I can defend myself!" She said, rather sternly, "anyway, I'm here because of the tournament! But you need a team." Her ears fell sadly down on her head and her tail stopped swishing around. As a gypsy it would be kinda hard to find a team, because most people thought they stealed.

The clothing she had on was pure gupsy clothes in a mass of colours. Red top, blue, purple shirt which looked like somebody had splashed the colours out on it. It was her favorite clothes, but when she had it on, people always looked strangely after her. It made her quite sad, still, she wouldn't take it off.

Firemare 08-14-2009 05:09 PM

Celiron chuckled "You mistake me! I meant only that surely you must have some suitors." He took her hand and kissed the back of it gently "But if your heart is set on joining that tournament, then by all means consider me on your team fair lady." He winked at her, "But why would you choose to fight anyway when there are much more... pleasant uses of your time?"

Katzzie 08-14-2009 05:27 PM

Adverting her eyes down, a rosen blush made their way to her cheeks. As a former gypsy she hadn't been treated like that before, not with the two big breads lurking around the camp, holding strangers away. The bear probably did it's job too. They should just have known, that all three of them were as kind as a newborn lambs.

Looking up at him again, she cracked in a smile. "OF COURSE!" She yelled excitedly. She could be rather loud sometimes. Blinking at his question, she shrugged. "I'm searching new adventures. I've been a part of a group that traveled around and put up performances. It got kinda boring at the end. Even though the persons where really sweet." She nodded, that was the truth. Then she remembered she didn't know the guys name. "I'm Lupe!" She held out her hand to him.

Firemare 08-14-2009 05:32 PM

He took it with a devilish grin "Celiron Shadowmoon, charmed to meet you lady Lupe. Tell me more about this tournament. What kind of... team is required?"

Katzzie 08-14-2009 06:02 PM

Her eyes tilted slightly. "I'm not a lady." She sad wondering, couldn't he see that?
She looked at him, an excited smile at her lips. "Well, before it was a tournament to find the greatest fighter in the kingdom. My teacher won it two times." She had found out, when she had gone through his cupboards and there was two trophys. It was in another name, but he could have changed it.

"It been changed to a team tournament this year, which is pretty weird. Anyway, the teams, which consists of 6 people, should probably be mixed up, because of the different challengers we will get." She nodded. Her teacher had told her all about the Phoenix Tournament and how all unexperied fighters came there. He had forbidden her to do it as long as she used his skills, but he was dead. What he didn't know, didn't hurt him.

Isendor 08-14-2009 07:50 PM

Rose made an evil sounding giggle when the man flew againts the floor. She was amused for his calmness with the situation. "Oh, no, I didn't mean to turn down your offer" she said and put her hand next to her knife on the counter. "I simply just wanted to know..." she stopped and started to stab the counter between each finger, "...what is your bet that I wont miss in high speed."
A lie! Of course she had aimed his hand! Actually, she got the results she wanted. That dude was fast! Clearly not one of those who always ned to be saved in the battlefield. Rose kept stabbing the counter with fastening speed. "But I quess that it's not time for gambling", she continued and stuck the dagger on the counter. "Name is Rosemary. And you are...?"

Knitted Doll 08-17-2009 01:38 PM

[[goshdurnit. I hadn't realised you people had started Dx]]

Calamine Jones knew her business, and she knew it well. Her business was to collect cats, to treat people's sicknesses, and to pop out a few children to continue her line when she was good and ready. Still, sometimes she longed for a little adventure. Nothing too dangerous, mind you - just a quest or two, some evil monsters to fight, a dark overlord to put down, and to live Happily Ever After. So of course, when she saw the advertisements, she couldn't help but look. She hadn't joined in in earlier years because she was no all-rounder; more of a barrier maiden then anything, but as part of a team... well, she might just be successful! Of course, she would need a team, first.
The witch woman shrugged internally, then turned to face the pub. She could do with a drink. The blue-haired girl pushed open the wooden door to the 'Chicken, and surveyed the room.

Dreamingaway 08-17-2009 04:03 PM

Sander got back up and brushed himself off. He noticed the door open from the corner of his eye and a blue-haired girl walk in. He turned back to the elf that had attacked him, her dagger going faster and faster between her fingers. He watched for a while, wondering if she was going to pull another stunt on him. She was definitely going to keep him on his toes.

"Oh, Rosemary?" he asked, thinking that she didn't look like a Rosemary. "Uh, I'm called Sander." Then, remembering his manners, he added: "Nice to meet you."
He kept watching the dagger, expecting it to come flying at him any time soon. Finally, he figured out that she wasn't going to try to hurt him anymore. But still, he was a little confused when he said:
"So wait... You are accepting my proposition? In other words, we're officially teammates as of right now?"
That surprised him even more. Being attacked usually meant that the person attacking you didn't like you very much.

Isendor 08-17-2009 05:00 PM

Rosemary got shivers when Sander ended with the "We're officially teammates as of right now?"- line. She tried to pull up someting like a friendly smile to her face and sound happy: "Why not, you seem like a nice guy!" YUCK, those kind of compliments didn't fit in her mouth. She made a better look into Sander. Yes, he really seemed like a nice guy even with the untidy outfit and hair. Like one of those knights who are ready to get killed only for innocent princess' hanky. Could he cause just trouble after all...?

But then Rose caught something else to her eyes. She came from the door... That woman... That outfit.... "Tsh, and looks like we can actually get another one into our team, if that blue haired hag is what I think she is..." Rosemary said and turned back to her drink. "Since you sound like the more social one, try to find out if she is worth to come with us" she continued to Sander and drank her glass to half. She started to wonder if they could find rest of the team from the tournament. After all, this town was quite small for such coincidence.

Knitted Doll 08-17-2009 07:03 PM

Her ears picked up on the word 'hag' (a particularly sore one with witches of any kind), and she shot a suspicious glance the pair's way. Some people didn't like women doing magic - or women's magic - and she'd rather be up on things if some religious nut had come into town. People puzzled her sometimes, to be honest.
Turning back, she strode up to the bar, asking the 'tender for a decent pint. He knew what she liked, and had one drawn up right quick, pushing it over the bar to her. He still owed her for his wife's little problem, so she didn't have to pay. She took a deep draught, producing one of the flyers from a pocket to study it a little closer.

Dreamingaway 08-19-2009 09:36 PM

The liquid he had spilled on himself was starting to seep through Sander's clothes. He lifted his eyebrows so high, they disappeared underneath his shaggy hair. He wasn't quite sure what to think of Rosemary. But they did need more teammates, so he spun around and slid towards the blue-haired girl, arboring an easy smile.
"Hey, there!" he said, deciding bluntness was the best approach. "Would you like to join our team for the Phoenix Tournament?"

He almost felt like a new kid asking to be friends, which seemed rather childish to him, but it was the easiest way to get teammates. He secretly hoped that if the blue-haired girl did accept his invitation, that Rosemary would treat her a little more respectfully than she just had.

Isendor 08-20-2009 01:46 PM

[[I'm out from Mene for two days so don't try to talk to me]]

"A poster!" Rose thought. She had kept an eye on the blue haired woman and Sander, and was quite relieved to have Sander to talk. Rose had always... scared witches a bit. Sure, elves COULD use magic, but Rose had always sucked with it. She wasn't even able to change her hair colour, and seeing someone who could turn someone into a frog...!
She got shivers from the thought. Her mother had always complained about witches and often called them as 'hags'. "Mhh, maybe I shouldn't use it with her..." came to her mind.

Knitted Doll 08-20-2009 03:03 PM

Calamine turned towards him, realising she was being addressed. Sander was subject to a second-long inspection, from feet to head, and a hard look. Then she took a gulp of her beer, seeming to come to some decision.
"Depends. Anyone besides you, Hedge Knight?"
The term was maybe a little derogatory, being used to describe a poor knight who had no liege lord to pay homage to, but at least she saw him as knightly, right?. Right?
