Rites of War
In the ancient texts it is said that nothing but the mass of clay called the World swayed back and forth in the stream of eternity, spinning constantly like a baby in the womb. And as it grew, eventually the collective consciences of Knowledge, Fate and Time came forth to embrace this new child. Time grew and nurtured the child, Fate came and cradled the child and Knowledge fed the child.
This event is called the Dawn of Ages.
After a millennium did the old consciences die and from their spirits did the birth the Old Gods came to be. The Gods outstretched their arms and by sway of hand and voice of lips did life finally inhabit the World. These Gods were not given names for they are beyond the words of mortal men...all but one. Elder God born blind and deaf could not see nor hear the wonders denied him. His senses developed into his mind, watching everything from thought and guess. This was not enough though, his jealousy and hate for his brethren grew with everlasting effects. He combed the sands, mercury, the shadows and fire and molded himself an army. He breathed life into the putrid golems and hid them away into secret places in the World, only to be called by his voice. His power waned upon the creation of these machines and knew that death would claim him soon. At his last ounce of strength did the Elder God plunge a dagger in his stomach and used his own blood and clay to create himself a descendant. He named him Marduk, God of War.
This is called the Wake of Shadow.
Cataclysm came and Marduk declared war upon the World and its Gods. The Gods defeated Marduk and his father's army but could not destroy him for he was a God like them. So they bound Marduk's voice into his clay hand and instructed the mortals to shatter them and scatter them across the World. This was done and at once did the spirit of Marduk cease. Millenniums came and went and all knowledge of the Old Gods passes like their fathers. All but one trinket. Supposedly hidden away in one of their extensive libraries did the humans of Caput keep a small shard of Marduk's Index finger...and some say that it was found.
It is said that when one finds all pieces of Marduk's hand that the Fallen God will grant him the promise of his father's power.

Biography
The Abelia Forest, a green and flourishing place, filled with vibrant life. The trees reined giant as kings of the forest and the rivers and streams that surged through were our mothers. Anyone could hear the soft melody of finches and sparrows as they sung to find their mate. Fye lived there; it was her home and god land. Never did she think of departing Abelia, the stead of her fathers and mothers. Her life was content and simple; she lived in a village of thousand in the hollow of a tree. Her sisters and mother resided near her.
The Abelia culture was matriarchal; mothers, daughters, sisters and aunts lived together or near each other. The males of that family lived near but separate house but they came by often and gifted goods that they had crafted or collected. The offerings were mainly knifes, fruit and berries, dried meats and other items of that nature. The women would gift back to the men with food and clothing. Fye was happy when the men came, she could see her father Enuya and brother Famae. They always brought her special presents of jewelry or fur. It was a simple society but made it hard for lovers to be unaccompanied. Only at festivals could lovers be together, for most festivities were based on love.
Fye had a lover when she was at the age of 37, she was a young elfling. His name was Eysu; he was a warrior and strong hunter. Her family approved of him and thought it was an excellent idea to marry them. Eysu offered Fye a balnu leaf when they had run off into the woods to the blue stream. The leaf was amber in color and golden veins ran throughout it. This leaf was rare to find and only given to girls by boys who wish to start a family with her. Rejoiced, Fye accepted and the wedding was planned.
It was stunning; the elves of her village had lined trees with white cloth and draped them down the aisle to the altar. She was dressed in white and silver with a baby’s breath crown. The ceremony ended as they exchanged necklaces representing their souls. The wedding ceremony ended with a feast including heartfelt music and elaborate dancing. Fye treasured dancing and would take Eysu up with her whenever she could.
They were married for 80 years but a war had broken out with another clan of elves fighting for territory and wealth. The dark elves were fierce and terrible to the Abelians. Eysu and Fye’s male family left to battle. Few came back including Eysu. Fye wept for years and left her village to seek guidance. Soon she found a sanctuary to expand her knowledge. With this knowledge she hopes to rid her world of the Dark elves for her people and Eysu.

Name: Shad Tenish
Alias: Shad
Age: 130, looks to be in his late 20s
Birth date: April 24
Gender: Male
Race: Elf Mage
Height: 5'5
Weight: 130 lbs
Origin: Born an Elf, but raised to be a Mage.
Appearance
[imgright]http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/3288/shad.png[/imgright]
Hair: Short, brown hair
Eyes: A deep blue color
Clothing: Look at the picture, but he wears a long, red, hooded cloak when he is outside, he takes it off while inside buildings.
Stature: He is a thin man, not very muscular, his short stature has kept him from most things other than studying his magical spells.
Signature: None
Tattoos: None
Piercings: None
Information
Affinity: All elements
Known affinities: Ice, Fire, Earth, Lightening, Wind and Water
Rank: Arc Mage
Instructor: Head Master of Trata School of Magic Allovym
Family: The Head Master is Shad's step father, adopted when he was just a baby, but Shad considers him to be his real father.
Personality
Kind, yet shy, he is a bit oblivious to some things going on around him while he talks, its like he loses his sense of his surroundings. He is that of a perfectionist, demanding a bit too much from his students, feeling great disappointment when one fails at their assignments. He will help out said students in private classes that the Head Master does not know about though to help them pass, he doesn't want anyone to fail his classes.
Fighting ability
Though he is considered a pacifist by many, he will quickly defend himself with one of his many spells if in danger. If others are the ones in trouble though, he puts himself in the situation to help until the danger passes, caring little about his own safety.
Weapons, Items, Etc
His spell book that he always carries, it contains a dagger which Shad uses as a bookmark, but no one has seen him use the dagger at all. The bags on his belt contain special herbs, spices and materials for casting the strongest elemental spells in his book. Sadly, his materials are very rare and sometimes hard to produce, so he uses the main spells, which require little but to chant the spell in the book, 90% of the time.
Talents
Casting magic to increase his abilities, running fast, jumping, strength etc. His brain power from all his years of studying and using magic had given him the ability to read others thoughts, humanoid and animal alike. Using the power of his mind he can use telekinesis, make objects float, slow down time in a certain range, levitate, communicate with and tame animals, etc.
Specific Magic skill
Shad can cast all magical elements, Ice, Fire, Wind etc.
He is currently studying the ancient art of Necromancy in secrecy, but it is tough to learn, getting frustrated quickly at the difficulty.
Biography
The Magical town of Trata, surrounded by water and an almost mystical feel within the air of the crowded city, it is where Shad was born. His mother and father unable to care for him, they offer him to someone who would be able to give their son a good life, the Head Master of the school. He kindly accepted Shad and soon he was raising Shad as his own, living in his own room in the back of the school where no one could find out about him until he was old enough. He never say his parents again and was too young to remember them at all. Shad was put straight to the book as soon as he could speak, read and write, he enjoyed learning so much that he craved more.
Whenever he could at night, he would sneak out of his room and head into the school's private library, taking some of the books with the most toughest words, spells etc. within them and bring them back to his room. His abilities and brain power was amazing to the Head Master, thinking that Shad was soon ready to become an actual magician. When Shad was a young adult, he was given the opportunity to study real magic and become a professional by the Head Master, Shad excitedly agreed.
The Years ticked by, Shad growing older and more skilled with his day that passed, the Head Master growing even more proud of his "son". Once Shad had hit his 100th year, he had graduated from the school, finally becoming the highest Magician rank and the best one within the whole school, beating even the teachers. Shad was offered a job as one of the professors, he quickly agreed and began teaching the newest students his skills. Over the next 30 years of his life, he made beginners into masters and masters into Arc Mages like himself, students came and went, Shad soon became the most respected among the faculty of the school.
Students were lining up to be taught by him, growing jealous of those who were able to be taught by him. Shad wanted to teach every student, but the Head Master would not allow it. "You will put the other teachers out of work, calm down my son and take it slow." His step father, the Head Master would tell him, he would soon shrug off his desire and teach those who he was able to teach. Life went on like any other for the people of Trata, until the day Shad managed to sense something would soon happen, something dangerous.
He had dreams of a strange artifact, hidden away in a secret place, the name Marduk would enter his mind, but he did not know what it meant. The dreams were constant, every night, the same one, but soon the city of Caput appeared in his dreams one night, it must have been a sign. With sadness in his heart and home sickness already brewing, Shad had packed his materials, his book and taking one of the school's pure bred stallions he headed off for Caput. What will Shad find out in Caput, not even he knows, but his dreams were trying to tell him something and perhaps that city held the answer.

General
Name: Nephele Jocasta Aurelius,
Alias: Just call her Nephele.
Age: Nephele is many hundreds of years old. It is said that her true age can sometimes be seen in her eyes, but her body remains that of a child no older than their mid teens. No-one knows if this was a spell that she cast upon herself, a token of eternal youth, or perhaps even the result of a magical accident, but she will not tell of her secret.
Birth date: The twenty third of June
Gender: Female
Race: Human, although it is not confirmed.
Height: 5'1''
Weight: 98lbs
Origin: Born human, raised as a mage
Appearance
[imgright]http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh64/Naruxtreme/Anime%20Mage/animemage_5.jpg[/imgright]
Hair: A rather unnatural shade of green. Yet again, this may be one of her many experiments with her appearance.
Eyes: A chocolate brown
Clothing: Mainly mage garb, long flowing robes and magical artefacts and symbols. However, when she has a bit of time to spare, she will dress in rather odd pieces.
Stature: Very small and slight she does not look like she is fit for anything of a physical nature.
Signature: None
Noticeable Features: Her youth, and her status
Tattoos: Her body, underneath her robes is covered with various magical insignia, from power enhancers, to power limiters.
Piercings: None
Information
Affinity: All elements, although it is said that her ability first stemmed in dark magics.
Known affinities: All, although it will depend upon her mood, and calendar signs as to what magic she will prefer at a certain time.
Rank: Arch Mage of Allovym and High Priestess' of a weird cult that seems to worship her. She just plays along.
Instructor: None, except those who chide her for her childish ways
Family: None, although she treats her students as such
Personality
When first met, Nephele acts like her appearance, very childish, very annoying, and without any slight hint of her occupation or responsibility. However, once she sobers up, she can be quite the mother hen, doting upon her students as if they were her children.
She is not without her mood swings, and once in a while, she will shut herself off in melancholy from the world, only to return a week later in her normal, chipper form.
She has a very avid curiosity, and this can often lead to disastrous consequences, especially where magic is involved, although she will always laugh it off.
Some may think her a psychotic lunatic, but she means well by her actions.
Fighting ability
She is versed in magical combat, although it has been a long time since she has been involved in a duel with a fellow magic user. In physical combat, however, she is absolutely useless.
Weapons, Items, Etc
She will carry with her various staves, depending upon which magic she wishes to use. She always carries around her neck a small locket, which she will never open.
Talents
Her magical abilities are well known, but it is also said she is a dab hand at a seamstress' trade.
Specific Magic skill
Nephele is well known for her use of raw magic, not assigned to a particular element. Raw magic is hard to come by, and that is why it is said Nephele moved the academy a few centuries ago, so that she could be closer to a source of it.
Biography
It is not known where Nephele came from. She just seemed to appear at the academy one day in a green blur, and excelled herself in everything that was thrown at her, and amazing people further by the fact that she did not age. She remained the same, always the same youthful thing.
It is said that this made her a prize student, just to that her tutors could study her actions, spells and magic, to see if that gave any clue, perhaps a clue to some dark magic affecting her, for it surely could not have been from magic of a pure nature. But they found nothing, even as they grew old, and frail, and passed from this earth, and still, Nephele was the same..
Perhaps, the only thing they had to go on were her disappearances once every few months or so. The girl (if she could be called so), became rather emotional, and locked herself in her room for days, only to re-emerge her normal self. No-one really knows what goes on in her time of solitude, except perhaps Nephele herself. It was also noted that she was very interested in learning about Marduk, and would spend hours hovering over books on the subject. However, this was also something that was seen as not important. There seemed to be nothing dark about her, nothing that seemed to say that she would stray from the right path, and she had not proved them wrong over the decades.
So this continued, tutors plying her with all they knew, all their magics and secrets, as the forever youthful mage climbed through the ranks, soon becoming the arch mage of the academy.

Q&A Q: When I choose a country do I have to start there and stay there?
A: No think it more of your birth place, where you live or where you have your alliance too. Please feel free to move to other places or start there. But remember TRAVEL is the only way to other places.
Q: Can I kill someone else’s character?
A: No unless they say you can. You may battle but only seriously injure them, that means you win. Yay.
Q: If I am gone for a long period of time should I PM you?

Q: Does my character have to be in the country that associates with my race?
A: No please be a werewolf that live in Magus! Be creative.
Q: When you mean be any race, I can be a robo-vampire dinosaur and you’ll say okay?
A: Yes I will…but don’t make it to ridiculous…
Q: Do I have to go exactly by the map to play?
A: No, it’s just an outline of the land. Don’t have to go exactly by it. Thought people would like it so they didn’t have to make up towns and names.
Q: Can I steal peices of the treasure from other groups?
A: Please do, it keeps the RP entertaining and no one will ever get all the pieces at once. So go on, slight of hand!

The morning market was always busy and congested with people and their business. Fye mazed her way through the people and the odd possessions they sold. She poked her head over the crowd trying to find the small cafe she went to for her morning coffee. But today with her coffee she was going to read the map she had purchased last night. When she finally made got out of the swarm of the people she found a table and sat down. The waiter came and took her order of coffee with sugar and buttered toast. Reaching into her pocket she pulled out the map. It was old and brown, torn and tattered. It was the Gegen kingdom, all the countries with it and odd locations near the major cities. Her eyes crossed over the map and studied the locations. There was a coughing noise and she looked up to see the waiter with her breakfast. He set it down infront of her and walked away. Folding up the map she placed it back in her pocket and started to nipple on her toast.

Sipping the last few drops of her coffee she peered over the rim of her mug and stared out into the tide of people. There were elfs, drawfs, demi-humans, humans, even a fairy that are commonly rare to sight. The port of Magus was one of the only places in the world to see every creature and species together without war and strife. It was place of commerce and learning. It was what drew Fye here, the peace. Setting her once warm beverage down she ate the last bite of her toast and pulled her map out again. She had gotten this parchment from an old man. It took forever to barter with him since he had higher offers for it. Apparently it lead to great treasure...but Fye had no idea what kind of treasure. Tracing her index finger over the roads and travels she memorized the map . It seemed some places were going to be dangerous like the land of Daudhr. The dead were not kind folk nor forgiving. She would have to go supplies and more of all help. She was skilled in a bow and sword but she would need more than metal. Rising from her seatshe placed the map in her pocket again. Finding an escape route into the crowd and she took it heading for a place to hire a fighter.

Shad had soon entered the port of Magus, he traveled far from his hometown of Trata to get there, he gripped firmly upon the reins with one hand, his other holding the spell book by his side while his horse walked through the crowded and busy streets of the port. Shad's cloak flowed in the wind, his hood over his head, the people walked past his horse in a quick and noisy pace to get to where they needed to be, Shad gazed through the whole port, searching for someone who might assist him on his way to Caput. But Shad stopped his search for a short moment and dismounted his steed, "perhaps it is best if I search alone for now Gilgamesh, you have traveled enough lately, you deserve a rest." Shad held onto the reins and guided his horse over to the stables where travelers take their horses or other animals while at port.
"I trust you can take care of him?" Shad asked the one running the stables, "yes, yes, now get going" said the man, he didn't sound very caring or looked to be paying much attention, too busy giving the animals feed and hay. Shad walked over to Gilga and pet his mien, "I'll be back soon my friend, please wait for me" Gilga replied with a happy sounding neigh which made Shad smile. Shad then turned and headed over to the main square of the port where a crowd was being formed, he was curious of what was going on. He was so focused on the crowd that he didn't see Fye heading in his direction, he ended up bumping into her and dropping his book, he grunted and almost fell over, but he quickly regained his balance. "Oh my! I'm so sorry, please forgive me, I-" he cut himself off when he looked up and saw her face, a bit overwhelmed by her beauty, he blushed slightly and quickly bent over to pick up his book.
He lowered his hood, showing her his face more clearly, he managed to smile, "hello there... um, I'm sorry for bumping into you like this, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." He adjusted his glasses, cleared his throat and managed to utter more words, "my name is.. Shad, what is yours?" His shy side was showing itself, he found it rather annoying that he grew so weak kneed when meeting new people.

Picking herself up she stood a good head taller than Shad, Lowering her blue eyes to him she smiled and waved her hand in the air back and forth. "No no, don't be sorry ti was simple mistake. Spajalla is a very crowd place it happens so often. She held her warm smile and listened as he franticly spoke. He seemed so flustered. "Ah Shad, I am the Fye." She noticed his ears and her smile beamed. "Oh! Elf!" Her face was so pleased that she could contain herself. "Oh my brother, it is so good to see someone of kin!" Most peopel are taken bakc by Fye's joy just Shad seemed to be fine minus him staring at his feet every few seconds. The was a brief silence and Fye spoke, "What brings you to such a place my friend?"

"It is nice to meet you Fye" he said, adjusting his glasses once more like a bad habit, he noticed her smile, but then he spotted her long ears as she noticed his, smiling as much as her now, his shyness seemed to just fade away. "Haha, yes indeed, you are the first elf I have met ever since I left Trata on my travels, I was starting to grow afraid to never see another one of my kind." When she asked her question, he was unsure of how to respond, "well, I left Trata to go to Caput, I sensed something was there and my curiosity led me to gather my things and travel there. I would love to explain more details my dear, but perhaps we should find some place to sit and chat, its better than being in this noisy square, wouldn't you say?"
He spotted a cafe just behind Fye, wondering if thats where she came from, "shall we go back to the cafe? It would be great on my part, I do require some refreshment, it has been a while." Shad turned toward the cafe and began to walk toward it, looking back occasionally for Fye.

As he walked past her she pivioted on her heels and followed after me. It was only this morning she was there drinking her coffee. As they entered a waiter seated them. Fye looked up to see it was the man who served her before. "Back again ma'm? I guess our coffee was that good." He mocked her as he chuckled. She left out a chuckle too and smiled. "This time I would like peppermint tea, lemon on the side." She turned her attention to Shad, "What would you like?" She still smiled...she was a little excited. Maybe she could share the map she had found and rumors she had heard with him.

Shad had removed his cloak and draped it over the back of his chair as he sat down across from Fye, looking up at the waiter, not laughing when they did, he just adjusted his glasses and smiled. "Peppermint tea sounds great, I will have that, thank you" Shad replied, nodding his head and placing his spell book upon the table, "I should continue, yes" he cleared his throat and continued speaking, "as I said before, I came here from Trata, you might not know it by looking at me but I'm a very skilled Arc Mage and one of the professors at the school of magic, Allovym. The reason I'm out here is because I kept having a single dream for very many nights, the same dream over and over of a strange clay artifact hidden away in a secret place..."
He paused for a moment when the waiter came over with their tea, "thank you very much" he said smiling, lifting his tea cup and blowing on it slightly, taking a quick sip before he continued. "A name would be said in a whisper, very faint but enough to hear it, 'Marduk', it confused me so, to this day I don't know what it means, perhaps you do?" He paused and took another sip of his tea, "the dreams continued on except one night when the capital city of Caput appeared in my dream, it seemed like a sign, so I left the school grounds and started my travels, I stopped here temporarily to rest and here we are dear."
He took another sip of his tea and put his cup down on the coaster, "hopefully you do not mind me asking this, but why are you out here all by yourself my friend?" He smirked and adjusted his glasses, waiting for an answer from her.

The name rang in her head, she listened and watched his hands move with his voice. It was like a dance, elegant and pure. Lifiting her cup to her lips she spoke, "I have heard of that name." Sipping her tea it clears her throat but made her sniff as she set the cup down. "Marduk, he was the son of an Elder God. This young God became the God of War as his father laid down his possessions of a mighty army...a deadly army of fire and earth. Such a battle was held trying to take the God down. When it happened the Gods took Marduk and bounded him to a pot and had mortals break it and take the peices to chapels." She stared into her tea; the peppermint leaves float delicately to the bottom of the cup. Pausing she stuck her hand in her pocket and pulled out the folded map. "This actually relates to why I am here in Magus. I am orginal from Spirare, the desert lands." The parchment was set on the table as she slide it to him to open. She gestured her head saying it was fine to take it. Fye watched as he open it carefully. "That map...shows where those chapels are...where the peices are. But there is something I need...something important to gain access to these "tombs"." Lifitng her cup again she took a heavy drink. "I believe we can help each other." She gave him a wild smirk.

Shad's ear perked up and he smiled, listening to her explanation with great excitement, he always loved learning new things, ever since he was a child, he kindly accepted the map when she passed him it and he opened it carefully. "Ah! This is... amazing" he said, a look of shock on his face, he then put the map down and listened to the rest of Fye's story, he held his chin and closed his eyes, thinking, trying to figure out what she might have needed. Shad then chuckled and looked Fye right in the eyes, smiling, "yes, I'd love to help you, it would benefit us both" he folded the map back up and slid it back over to her.
"Shall we get going right away, to the closest chapel?" He asked, lifting up his tea cup and drinking the rest of it quickly, then using a napkin on his face. "I should check in on my horse before I go do anything else if you don't plan on leaving at this moment" Shad reached into one of the pouches on his belt and pulled out a few gold coins, leaving them on the table as payment for the tea. He stood up, picking up his book and cloak and waited patiently for Fye's decision.

Malikoi moved through the bustle of the Spjalla Port, slung over his back, a bag of odd trinkets he had found to trade here. This was how he made his money, by selling the things he had found, or trading them. Then to turn around and sell the items he had obtained in the trade, it usually took him a few days to a week and a half to get rid of all the stuff. Today, he had found silver tea wear necklaces. It was odd what people would hide in trunks at the bottom of lakes.. Perhaps to hide from raiders and thieves.
He would of had clothes made from furs and leathers, but the trunk had been submerged for so long that those were nothing but slimy messes. The silver tea wear and jewelery were the only things he could save. Green eyes scanning the crowd for the stands that usually bought and traded from him here. Though his attention was caught by the sight of the two elves conversing, he had seen elven folk before. Though none as short as Shad, it was almost funny to see, and of course elven women were always beautiful. Always blond or some other light hair color. He adjusted his burden lightly and the tea pot and cups clanked among themselves and the jewelery. Nothing too loud that would be heard above the crowd here. At least not by untrained ears, the human then turned and kept moving through the vast masses of people. He had business to finish before he could allow himself to get distracted.

Fye stared at Shad as she stood up and dropped the few coins onto the table. Again she smirks. "As I mentioned a key would be need...I believe we should travel to your homeland and maybe talk to someone at the university?" Her eyes flashed, she could be very...bossy when it came to riches. Her face softened and she stood up by pressing ehr hand onto the table. A moment of silence stood between them. "Ah but you are my partner in this, each word is good as the next." A broad warm smiles spread across her face. Gliding around the table she stood by Shad. "My friend we do however need supplies let us travel the wonders of Spjalla!" Her hand stretched out as she swung it across the scenery of the town.

"This here, is one of my most important and one day useful inventions!" the young voice proclaimed, as the robed students looked at the structure before them, before looking down again to the small youth that was speaking to them. At first, one would not think that one of a childlike appearance would be speaking to the older students in this manner, let alone been capable to create the floating outhouse-like building standing behind her, above a pool of ever glowing and morphing liquid. But Nephele Aurelius was no child. It had been quite a few centuries since her childhood, so many that she could not even place it, nor remember most of its youthful details.
"It is called the Orchid Runner - do not ask me why but it sounded like a good idea at the time", the mage continued, "its concept and function stems from what you see below it, which is?" She looked around at the students, waiting for a hand to raise, or for a mouth to quiver and spurt out the right or wrong answer. A brow raised itself inquisitively as chocolate brown eyes scanned the room. A students hand then raised itself from the throng, for a small smile to curl itself across her lips, "yes, master Croswell?"
"It's.. raw magic, isn't it?" Croswell answered a little hesitantly, to which Nephele's grin widened. She hadn't expected them to guess it this early.
"Exactly right my dear, you're on the button!" the mage replied jubilantly, "raw magic indeed. Magic that is not tainted by anything, no element, no purity, no darkness, just total neutrality. And this is useful to the Orchid Runner. Very useful indeed. You see, other magics, fire, water, energy, they can be found anywhere, traces of them linger all around us. But raw magic is more widespread, more sparsely laid out across the kingdom. Therefore, to use another kind of magic would be totally useless, and dangerous", Nephele gave a small laugh, "I should know, I tried it with fire magic before. Just set the Lily Runner - that's what I called it then - on fire. And the thing only moved two hundred yards."
Some students, obviously more learned about the Arch Mage of Allovym's antics, began to mutter worriedly among themselves and shift themselves back slowly to the rear of the group. There were some times when it was wise to give the head of the university a wide berth. And this was going to be one of them.
"That's right!" the woman exclaimed, even though no-one had told her what the Orchid Runner was for, "it's a transportation device! The Orchid Runner will lock onto the nearest source of raw magic big enough to accommodate it and beam its occupants there!" Nephele turned round to look at her glorious contraption, whilst others in the class slunk back even further while she was not looking. "Of course, I did not think about its size, I don't think it will accommodate the lot of us, I only built it for a single person, really, but I don't see why two of you can't come with me to test it out!" The whole class by now had tagged onto what she was planning to do, and were all trying to be as inconspicuous as possible compared to their peers. By now, Nephele had noticed their unease.
"Don't worry!" the arch mage reassured in her own little way, "it's safe! After all, I have travelled in it a few times and have had no side effects." Her grin became rather sheepish as she twirled a strand of green hair between her fingertips, "although, my hair did turn a nice shade of orchid, once, probably why I called it the Orchid Runner, actually, but that was easily fixed. It was quite a nice shade though, I was rather fond of it." She then clapped her hands together expectantly, "right! Master Croswell, you can come for answering the question, and let's have..." her eyes scanned the other students, "you, Mistress Pennyfeather!" Both students gave a small gulp and stepped forward, as the childlike figure opened the door to the machine to them so they could clamber in with a smile as she mouthed 'don't touch anything'. She then turned her attention to the rest of the class.
"Right! We'll be back within ten minutes, and we'll have some little souvenirs for you from our travels! If, in the event that we do not return, please go to your next class and tell the relevant teacher that Miss Nephele is in a little bit of a pickle, but not to worry." The students were well versed in this routine. After all, it was not the first time they had had to say it. The arch mage then clambered into the machine alongside the two students she had chosen, and shut the door.
A few curse words could be heard from the inside of the machine, presumably from the mouth of Nephele, before the Orchid Runner began to slightly shake and then emit a god-awful noise that required most of the students to cover their ears from its monstrosity. The raw magic underneath the vessel then began to crackle, before surging upwards, to cover the machine. When it finally settled, the Orchid Runner and its three occupants were gone.
The Orchid Runner made its re-emergence on the other side of Magus, in Spjalla Port. However, the exact logistics of the raw magic point had not been as exact as Nephele had hoped, and so the Orchid Runner fell crashing into the centre of the main marketplace, thankfully missing the shoppers there and stall owners, and embedding itself just short of the town fountain. The door then slowly opened, to reveal a bedraggled Nephele, her hair a messy green halo about her head, and her mouth set in a rather sheepish and amused grin. Two riled students then also appeared from the wreckage. It looked like the arch mage had got her self in a pickle indeed. But, it did prove the the Orchid Runner worked! just not as well as she had hoped...

Shad raised his eyebrow and stroked his chin, lost in thought, "I suppose... though I traveled quite far from my land to get to just here, I'm not sure about heading back." He looked into her eyes, leaning back slightly in surprise, he didn't know what to say as she stood up and walked to his side. When she mentioned needing supplies he let out a small chuckle and adjusted his glasses, "I'm quite ready my dear, though we both may look around for you, I do not mind it, lets get going." He put his cloak back on but kept his hood down, carrying his book at his side he headed over to the door and opened it up, holding it open for Fye with a sweet smile. "Where shall we go first?" He asked curiously, but then his ears twitched and his eyes widened, he sensed a disturbance, a somewhat familiar one, he looked over at the main market.
All of a sudden the Orchid Runner fell and crashed by the fountain, causing an upwind that flew across the market, it made him cover his face and almost fall over, "what was that?!" He spat out, but then its as if a light went off in his head, he felt the familiar presence, "Nephele..." He smirked and started to walk toward the wreckage, making his way through the crowd huddled around the machine. He soon spotted Nephele and her two students out in the open, a bit dizzy from their adventure in the machine, he laughed heartily and adjusted his glasses. "I never thought to see you again so soon Nephele, another successful experiment I assume?" He smiled kindly, happy to see such an adorably familiar face, but it made him miss being one of the professors and teaching the students, such memories he had.

Walking past him she turned her head over her shouldered and smiled graciously to him. "Well food would be a good-" Before she could finish her words a sound of a loud crash and a splash of water. Whipping herself around she faced a comotion in the town square. Turning back to Shad she wanted to ask what that was but he was gone. Shad had rushed off in the blinding crowd of shocked witnesses. Looking through the crowd for Shad was hard but she spotted him talking to a young woman.
She looked like a mage...the style of her clothes. Shad seemed to know her which spiked Fye's curiosity. Making her way through the flood of people she found herself behind Shad and the woman. Fye stood in silence and waited.

The machine crashing into the fountain had captured Malikoi's attention away from his plan to sell off the goods he had. He became suddenly nervous and moved to the commotion to see if anyone was hurt or not. Stepping hurriedly to the source of the concern his long black hair almost gliding behind him, the trinkets clinking in their sack slung over his strong shoulder. Once close enough he peered his best over the shoulders of the crowd gathering around the ruined fountain and what looked like a group of children. His browns furrowing in confusion at the situation how in the world did they end up there with such a large thing? Did it fly? It surely did not look like something that flew. Did it glide? Or hover? Surely if it hovered or glide then it couldn't of crashed down onto the fountain. Perplexed, Malikoi really could not fathom how it had gotten there.

Nephele did not think it would be long before a crowd gathered around her, the destroyed Orchid Runner and the distempered students, and she was not proved wrong by her thoughts. After all, who would not go and investigate some odd contraption that had just fell from nowhere, seemingly, into one of Spjalla Port's most treasured monuments? Well, that was going to be a hefty dent out of university funds for damages... What she did not bet on, however, was the appearance of a familiar face, and it wasn't Croswell or Pennyfeather, either, namely an ex professor, Shad.
She grinned at the elf, as she climbed from the wreckage, leaving behind the two irate students, as they began to bicker and mutter among themselves, obviously on the subject of their tutor's idiocy and how they would make their way back home without a two day trip on horseback. "Well, it was successful by way of transportation, no harm done, I just think I underestimated the source of the emergence point. Either that, or it moved, or there is more than one point of raw magic in the port.. which would be rather fascinating.." The archmage's face turned to one of pondering for a moment, before the grin plastered itself on her face again, "but how have you been, Shad? You were one of my favourite employees, and one of my favourite students if I remember correctly. It's been a long time.. people still aren't making fun of you for your height, are they?" she asked, although knowing she was much shorter than him still, "if they are, let me know and I'll have a few words." Even though she knew she had probably now embarrassed the elf, she could not help it. She had a habit of doting upon her students and teachers. She thought it her responsibility. After all, she can't have lived this long unnaturally for no reason...
Nephele's chocolate eyes then turned their attention to the elf next to him, "another elf! And a pretty one at that my dear Shad! I knew it wouldn't take you long to find yourself a nice girlfriend!" Unaware that this may make Shad redder, she held out her hand to Fye for her to shake, "Nephele Jocasta Aurelius, arch mage of Allovym university. Congratulations on taming the heart of my dear Shad!"
The centuries old youth then turned round to look at the students. The look on their faces did not look healthy, and she gave a sheepish giggle, before turning back round to Shad, "you don't happen to know where I can purchase a nice carriage to take these two back to the university, do you? I think I may have ruffled their feathers..."

Tyrelle walked, no, stalked through the crowded Spajalla Port, noting that mostly everyone gave a little extra space between her and them, even if it meant pushing into another person. She mentally sighed, thinking to herself, 'I could forsee this type of behavior from humans, but even demi-humans and the occasional fairy try's to get away from me!'.
Stopping in front of a small restaurant stand, she dug out her purse and pulled out enough money to pay for the cooked meal. She sighed outright this time when everyone stepped back from the stand, which made it faster for her to get her food, but was pretty annoying seeing as how most of them were in a cold sweat, fear cloaking their scent. After relaying her order to the frightened cashier, she only had to wait (at maximum) three minutes to get her food. After giving the worker a smile (which had left them slightly confused), Tyrelle continued down the path, slurping up some noodles, uncaring of some of the disgusted faces around her.
She had finally reached an even larger, and denser, crowd around what appeared to be a slightly destroyed fountain. Slightly pushing her way through the crowd, it didn’t take long until she saw what everyone was surrounding. Some weird contraption, students, what appeared to be their teacher, and two elfs.
“Now this is a sight you don’t see everyday.” She said, mostly to herself.

Fye firmily shook the Mage's hand. Her mother said to impress a person don't be limp. "Fye Delai," She face stiffened as Nephele made her assumptions of Shad and Fye. "charmed." Letting go of the Arch Mage's hadn she quickly look at Shad to see he had turned six shades of red within the last minute. Now he looked a little blue....maybe he was holding his breath so he wouldn't scream. In the background she saw two of Nephele's hazed students stumble out of the wreckage. They didn't look good either, one looked sick like she was about to vomited onto the stone walkway.
Fye stepped into the question directed to Shad. "I do know fo a place near here...the horses are fast but the price is high. But I doubt you have any financial problems." Fye had lived here for almost five years, she knew the town well and the people. Her velvet green eyes connected with Nephele's, it was a dead lock. She couldn't look away, the eyes of that woman were so old...so many ages lost. The stare didn't break until Nephele looked away and continued to be her lovely self.

Shad listened to Nephele explain about the experiment, chuckling lightly and adjusting his glasses, "oh, I've been just fine my friend, it hasn't been long since I left Trata... though there's a slight sickness in my stomach, the sickness when you leave home for the first time, it hasn't gone away still." He looked down at the ground in sadness until she brought up if others picking on him for his height, he grew flustered and shook his head, "no! Pre-preposterous!" He cleared his throat, "no one has made disrespectful remarks about my size at all on my travels..." he let out a sigh and pulled his hood over his head until the lower part of his face was the only thing you could see due to the rest covered with shade.
He was truly embarrassed at this point, holding his breath when Nephele also mentioned Fye being his possible girlfriend, he exhaled and hunched over slightly, groaning, "why did this have to happen?" He muttered to himself, standing up straight and sighing again. He looked around at the crowd underneath the darkness of his hood, "okay, shows over, just go back to your business, we can take care of the damages." He said to make them leave, they wouldn't budge, he let out a growl, "get going!!" He shouted, his glasses flashing a brilliant white, it made all the normal residents leave running, finally listening to Shad.
Shad soon calmed down and let out another sigh, the light his glasses fading away, returning darkness to his face, the behavior he displayed to dispense the crowd was completely unlike him, but in his embarrassed state he lost control of his emotions. "Forgive me for my outburst" he said to those that stayed, turning back to Fye, Nephele and her students, sounding guilty. "So Fye, perhaps we should go find these three a mode of transportation now?" He asked, moving his hood back slightly to show his whole face and he adjusted his glasses.
