Talon panicked and quickly bent down next to Coy as he fell to the floor. She wasn’t sure what to do. She then looked up at the dead creature “I don’t now I haven’t seen one like that” she spoke softly looking back into his eyes “is there anything I can do to help your leg?” she asked kindly.

"Find two sticks and grabb my rope out of my pack, you can make a splint out of that. And can you grab my blade, its kinda sticking out of the creature's head and its getting a little creepy..." He said, holding his leg. The sun was high in the sky, and in Coy's condition, they wont be able to make it into the next town for quite a while.

Talon listened to Coys instructions nodding now and again she stood up quickly as she searched for two sticks. She soon found some running back to Coy she placed them on the floor next to him and then grabbed so rope from his bag. She then looked over a creature she walked over slowly looking down at it, she grabbed the sword and pulled hard. She walked back over to Coy placing his sword next to him as she started on his leg.

Coy leaned over and wiped the sword in the grass, then holding it up to look at the blade. "Talon, I'm sorry, I should have known that thing was here long before it attacked..." His voice trailed off. He lowered the sword. "You got hurt....because I wasn't alert. I could have heard it..."

Talon looked into his eyes she looked down “You shouldn’t feel bad iam an elf I have high senses I should of released too” she said softly looking back up to him with a warm smile “this is a cut northing more” she said touching the cut on her neck. “I should of helped you more” she spoke quietly.

"Hey, don't beat yourself up over it." Coy stood up, leaning on his sword, the other one in its sheath. "How are we gonna get to the next town...."
"Hey, you two need help?" Came a voice from behind them. Coy turned around to find an old farmer sitting on a horse drawn buggy carrying hay. "Uh, ya, theres a town up north we were headed to, but i kinda got injured." Coy said, motioning to his leg. The farmer looked at his leg then at the beast lying dead behind them. "I see.....well, as a matter of face, i was just headed up there m'self. You youngsters hop in back with the hey and I'll get us there in half a day or so." He said, adjusting his straw hat. One of the horses snorted and stamped its feet, a little anoyed that they weren't moving. "Uh, thanks. Talon, can you help me over there?" |
Talon stood up with him she decided to move closer to him just in case he needed help walking she smiled softly.
She then heard a voice pulling out a dagger for her and Coy’s defence. She soon released it was a helpless old man she put her dagger back as she turned to the old man a smile of her face now. Talon looked at the old man he was willing to help so she smiled softly as she turned to Coy. She wrapped her arm around his waist pulling his arm over her shoulder this made her blush slightly as she touched him. She walked over to the cart slowly helping Coy on it. |
Coy could feel every bump and rock the buggy wheels ran over, but he didn't care. In a few hours, they will have accomplished what could have taken a whole day. Both swords put away now, Coy leaned back on the hay, his legs dangling off the back of the cart. "This is a lot of hay." He said to talon, who was sitting next to him. Coy stared at the mountain of straw behind him.

Talon held on tightly as the travelled across the bumpy roads. She looked down at Coy as he lay down she laughed slightly “yes it is” she said as she swung her legs of over the side she lay down at least she could balance better turning her head towards Coys she blushed slightly looking into his eyes “how’s you leg?” she said quickly.

Coy blushed too and quickly looked down at the splint on his leg. "Its alright, thanks to you." He looked up at Talon and smiled. "It may just be a fractured bone, as long as i stay off it, I'll be fine."

Talon smiled softly “I didn’t do much” she said quietly “I would heal it but I can’t do healing magic” she said softly as she looked at his leg and back to her eyes. “I can help you walk intill its healed” she said happily.

Coy gave her a warm smile. "Thanks." Coy reached over and gave her a hug. "Thanks for being there for me."

Talon blushed slightly as he hugged her it felt nice being close to him but she hid it with a wide smile as she hugged him back “its ok” she whispered in his ear.

What happened next surprised Coy himself. "Talon?" He asked, pulling back. "You know, I meant what i said earlier." After saying that, Coy leaned in and kissed her.

Talon looked up into Coy’s eyes as he started to talk again she blushed slightly as she watched him kiss her. She went wide eyed at first she was shocked to see him kissing her they she relaxed kissing him back.

The rest of the world had melted away again. Coy could no longer feel the bumps of the wagon or the pain in his leg anymore. None of that mattered to him now. When he pulled away, it all came rushing back. "I will protect you, for as long as I live." He said, giving her a hug.

Talon felt so relaxed and at peace in the arms of Coy kissing him softly she forgot everything that was happening in the real world. Coy soon pulled away as he held onto her in a hug she hugged him back “thank you” she said softly in his ear.

The two sat like that for a while, watching thier surroundings as they passed by, thier arms wrapped around each other. As it got later, Coy and Talon watched as the sky turned from blue to orange to red to purple. This had been the first peaceful moment in a while for him. Coys head lowered onto Talons shoulder as he drifted to sleep.

Talon watched the surrenders as they travelled, she held her arms around Coy he was so warm and she felt at peace. She watched as sun set it was so beautiful a smile appeared on Talons face. She felt Coy learn against her shoulder as she felt her eyes closed she started dreaming of Coy.

Coy's usual nightmares didn't torment him that night. Coy opened his eyes and yawned. He checked the sky for the time, the sun was just coming up. He looked to his shoulder. Talon was still asleep, clinging to Coy. A smile was on her face. I am the luckiest person in the world..... he thought, brushing a bit of hair out of her face. "We're almost there." The farmer called out. "Alright, thanks." Coy said with another yawn. The road was less bumpy, everything was more calm.

Talon felt movement next to her as she opened her blue eyes slowly she looked up at Coy ‘so it wasn’t just a dream’ she thought as she looked into his eyes she sat up stretching her arms. She then looked up into the sky seeing the sun come out she glanced back down to Coy “how far is the next town?” she said in a quiet voice she wasn’t going to ask the old man herself after all she never liked talking to strangers.

"The farmer said we're almost there. Did you have a good sleep?" Coy asked. The sun was just a little more than half way over the horizon. He looked into Talon's eyes. He could stare into them till the end of time.

Talon nodded softly “I did how about you?” she asked in a kind tone as she yawned slightly. She looked back into Coys eyes a slight blush appeared on her face as he looked at her.

"I slept fine." He said, not adverting his gaze, blushing himself. One of the horses up front snorted, and you could barely hear the farmer's voice going "there, there....". A bump in the road snapped Coy out of his trance. "Gah!" He gasped, holding his leg.

“Coy” Talon shouted slightly as she grabbed onto his arm soflty “are you ok?” she asked shyly looking down at his leg ‘stupid bumps in the road’ she thought as she looked back up to his eyes.
