Sitting on the steps at the front doors of his school, Fritz stared at the paper in his hands with an intensely furrowed brow. It was his schedule, and quite frankly he was devastated that he hadn't gotten a single class he'd wanted. There were, of course, the mandatory ones that he couldn't avoid or change, and those he was fine with because he knew that every other student in his grade had to suffer through them too. However, for his electives he'd gotten placed into what seemed like completely random classes, with no regard to the preferences he'd listed on his sign-up sheet at the end of the previous year.

Sighing dejectedly, he folded the paper back up and slipped it into his backpack again. Looking around for his parents' car, he remembered the call he'd gotten from them at lunch saying that they would have to pick him up a bit late. Groaning as he realized he would be stuck at school with nothing to do and all by himself, Fritz pulled a book out of his bag and opened it to the first page. It was the book their English teacher had prescribed for them, and everyone in the class was supposed to finish it within the coming three weeks. Looking around once more to see if he had any friends close by, the boy sighed again before leaning back against the stone pillar at the top of the rail and began reading.

((Let me know if you want more, okay? Also, was that good?))

((Great. c: ))

The lighter flicked closed as Davin stuck into his back pocket. The heat of it becoming a closer reminder that he was almost out of the fluid to ignite it. He was suppose to be in detention but the teacher already fell asleep once the bellrang for school to end. He walked past a few lockers and brushed by a door that lead outside to the front.

Davin leaned forward and looked through the windows. He saw someone sitting on the steps reading, What a nerd, he sighed and opened the door softly, and closed it almost silently behind him. He sunk down the steps on his tip toes, and leaned down into the guy's teacher and said softly, "Boo."

Ignoring the sound of tapping footsteps as he tried to focus on one of the most boring books he had ever read in his entire life, Fritz jumped just a little when he heard someone whisper in his ear. Looking over, he saw on of the trouble makes from his classes. Truthfully, he couldn't remember the guy's name even though he'd heard it about a billion times from teachers, both during class and in the hallway, and he was in no mood to deal with him. "Get out of my face, weirdo," he said annoyed, as he tried to get back to reading his book, even though it was difficult to try and concentrate on even without any distractions at all. However, Fritz soon realized that he was honouring the old time-tested method of reading the exact same three lines of a book over and over again because he was losing his train of thought.

"Urgh!" he grunted angrily, closing the book and slamming it back down on top of his book bag. "What? What do you want? You broke my concentration!" Fritz complained, directing his anger to the boy who had just forced himself into his thoughts. Not only was this guy a pain during school when everyone else in class was trying to learn, but he was making a nuisance of himself even outside of the classroom, which should have been the one time that Fritz didn't even have to think about the other students attending his school. Most of them annoyed the hell out of him on a daily basis, and he didn't have any real friends to speak of, so having to deal with such an idiot when he didn't have to wore on his already thin nerves like sandpaper.

He stepped back on the steps, leaning onto the railing, smirking dow at Fritz. He recalled him from class but he didn't know his name. He raised a brow and said, "Weirdo? Weridos are ones that read books like that." He pointed to the book and wrinkled his nose. He brushed hair out of his eye and took his lighter back out, flicking it open and closed, keeping his eyes on the flame.

Davin frowned slightly at his outbreak but then chuckled to himself and said, "I broke your concentration?." He faked a sad face and said, "I am sorry. How can I make it up to you?" He titled to his head with a smirk and said, "I don't want anything from someone like you." He spit on the ground, missing Fritz by mere inches and he stored the lighter back into his pockets.

((I am cooking dinner so I am very sorry for being late on replies.))

((That's okay. I tend to zone out every now and then and lose my concentration, so I'm sure I'm taking longer than I should as well. XD I blame Korean pop music. It causes me to divert my attention from the RP so I can hit the Replay button! O.o They are so beautiful... ))

Frowning as the boy mentioned the book, Fritz pointed out, "It's the book we're supposed to be reading for English class, and there's a test on the first ten chapters on Friday. Didn't you buy your own copy yet?" he asked, although he doubted someone like this guy would ever actually bother doing his work, even if it meant flunking. Fritz wasn't an elitist, but he was one of the best students in the grade, and he had never gotten below a 90, meaning that he still had straight A's so far; and he planned to keep it this way. Watching the guy play with his lighter, Fritz got even more annoyed and said, "No, weirdos are guys who get obsessed with stuff like fire. Pyromaniacs," he specified, wanting to make sure that he got in a few insults as well.

Frowning angrily back at him, Fritz said, "You can make it up to me by leaving me alone so I can read! It's not like I really want to, but there isn't anything better to do while I'm here," he said with disdain, not so much hating school itself as he just hated the people in it. "Why don't you go do something more productive with your life than bothering me? Maybe you could actually bother to do some school work for once instead of flunking your way through high school. It certainly couldn't hurt your IQ!" Crossing his arms across his chest, Fritz leaned back against the stone uncomfortably, his thin shoulder blades complaining as the rough surface irritated his skin, even through the cloth.

((I get like that but for me it is reading manga online.. God I love shojo. @[email protected] ))

Davin began to laugh, first it started as a small chuckle and then it turned into full on laugher. He doubled over, tears forming at the corner of his eyes for laughing too hard. He stiffled the laugh, occasional giggles escaping as he said, "Did I buy it?" And he giggled again "Pyromanicas?" He lost his laughter and bent down saying, "I actually finished that assignment before school started, it's called e-mailing with teachers. It's actually useful."

He put both of his hands up in defense and said, "Of course I got to a little hacking and found out the other assignments." He took out a slip of paper and held it front of his face "Want a copy? It is a list of all the assignments for this year." He waved the paper infront of his face, dangling from between his thumb and forefinger.

Making a face of disgust, Fritz shook his head. "And what are you laughing about? You sound like a hyena, but your face looks more like a toad," he said, not really meaning it. The boy wasn't that bad looking, but the way he acted was so absolutely hideous that he might as well have looked like a pile of pond sludge. Unlike most people, Fritz cared more about the way a person acted than the way they presented themselves. Even if someone didn't seem to take care of their image, it didn't mean they were a bad person. However, in this situation, it seemed as though Fritz had found yet another person who didn't take the time to groom their attitude.

"Well if you finished the damn thing in advance, why are you teasing me about it?" he demanded, finding the other boy to not only be annoying but also confusing. However, he had never met a bully in his life who used common sense, so it wasn't too surprising to find that this boy seemed to use less than 1% of his brain on a regular basis. Turning his head the other way as the paper was dangled in front of him like a carrot, Fritz said, "No thank you. I'll complete them when they come around. I've got enough to worry about right now without trying to complete all of my assignments in advance." Of all days for someone to come and bother him, Fritz wondered why this had to be the day and, worst of all, his parents weren't going to be there for a while.

He made a face and said, "I don't like frogs, they are icky." He chuckled and said, "Hyenas are more entertaining than a frog my dear sir. I prefer being a hyena." Davin could tell Fritz was put off by him but he seemed something to entertain him with for the time being.

Davin shrugged saying, "I am not teasing, I am offering my help." He chuckled at Fritz looking at his face and said with a mocking attitude, "Oh so much to worry about? I finished all the assignments actually.. More time for me to do other things.." He trailed off and squated down on his heels, wrapping his arms around Fritz's shoulder and saying with a off voice he said, "I am crippled, carrying me down the stairs.." he trailed off and adjusted one hand so it looked like a gun and held it to the side of Fritz's head and he chuckled saying, "Or else."

"And you're just as slimy as a toad fresh from the marsh," Fritz said, glad he'd picked an animal that the boy actually didn't like. Rolling his eyes at the other boy, Fritz wasn't even going to bother asking him his name. After all, he was bothering him without a good reason, getting in the way of him doing school work, and making him think about school more than he actually had to. "If you want to be a hyena, then go run off and join a zoo. I'm sure they'd be happy to have such a wild specimen. Then people can throw peanuts at you like you deserve."

When the other boy knelt down and got too close for comfort, Fritz pushed him off and said, "You're right, you aren't a weirdo; you're a freak! So keep your grimy mitts off of me or I'm going to push you down the rest of the stairs!" he threatened, even though he didn't want to actually have to go through with it. As much of an unpleasant person he could be sometimes, Fritz never liked being violent, and he had never had to resort to it yet. "The hell you're crippled! You walked all the way down here just fine, you don't need my help at all. If anything, I'm the one who needs help. I'm being harassed by some weirdo who won't leave me be!"

He chuckled softly and said, "I don't like other animals." He glanced at Fritz inexample and said with a smirk, "I tend to not place nice with others." He stood up and raised a brow saying, "You push me?" He chuckled again and stepped closer to Fritz saying with clenched teeth, his eyes playfully twinling, "Try it."

He felt his hands getting very hot and he rubbed them against his pants but then his pants felt like they were getting too hot from where he touched. He tried to ignore it by trying not to wince but his eye brows slowly started to form together to show concern. I feel like my hands want to shoot fire at this guy..

"Yeah, and I don't generally like other people," Fritz said, wishing that this guy would just get bored and leave already, "but there doesn't seem to be much I can do about that." Fritz was an only child, and he had never really jumped at the chance to interact with others. In truth, he was at his happiest when he was sitting alone in his room reading a book or watching a television show he liked. Even though he felt lonely sometimes, there wasn't ever anything he could do about it, so he mostly ignored it. However, having to be stuck with someone he absolutely loathed was even worse than being lonely, so it wasn't as if his current situation was any better.

Shifting his legs a bit, Fritz finally sat up straight as he looked the other boy over. Seeing him rubbing his hands oddly, Fritz raised an eyebrow and asked, "What's wrong with you? Gotta use the bathroom or something?" Hoping that whatever it was would be enough to get the guy out of his hair. However, something didn't seem right with him. The boy had an odd look on his face, and he seemed anxious, which wasn't in his character. Trying to see if a little lightheartedness could help him, Fritz said, "You could always sit with me...you know you don't have to stand, right?" There wasn't really enough room for the to sit side-by-side on the stone ledge, but they could sit facing each other, or the other boy could even sit on one of the steps while they talked. Fritz just didn't want to have to see that look in his eye.

"I tolerate people till they loose their usefulness." He raised a brow and rubbed his hands together on his pants again. He frowned at him and snapped saying, "No. I don't have to use the bathroom.." He grumbled to himself and raised a brow at Fritz.

"I can sit." He sat down on the railing, swinging his feet back and forth, looking down at Fritz and he frowned again, rubbing his fingertips together saying My hands hurt.. What is wrong with me? He glanced over at Fritz and said with a snide voice, "What's with playing nicesy all of a sudden?" The anger was making the pain increase but it slowly began to numb away.

"I suppose I can understand that," Fritz agreed, knowing that cutting one's loses was always the best idea, no matter what the subject; gambling, business ventures, relationships...It didn't matter what the currency was or what it was for. It was a good strategy. "I wish I had enough patients to do that, but I usually can't stand people long enough to even get them to help me with anything. That's why I've never had a tutor or asked a teacher for help; I always feel like I could do it better on my own," he admitted, thinking that this guy, more than anyone, could probably understand having to do things yourself. He seemed like the kind of guy who had friends that didn't actually need them for anything.

Frowning a bit at the other boy, Fritz said, "I just thought you looked uncomfortable. Besides, it isn't like I own the railing; you could have sat down anytime you wanted. I just assumed you hadn't thought of it." For some reason, Fritz knew that it was more than just him thinking the other boy needed to sit. There was something about the way he was moving that was unsettling, and Fritz just wanted it to go away. Before he had just been annoying, but now Fritz was a tad worried he might do something more than just insult him. He had been playing with a lighter, so he could only hope that the boy wasn't planning to light something on fire. Whatever he was doing, it was similar to the way a smoker acted when they were going through withdrawal; like he needed a release from something.

Davin shrugged saying "I can do better on my own but it easier if others do it for me." He smirked slightly at the thought. "Like some who think they are close to me don't have much use after I get what I need, whether it be aid on a project or assisance on a website." He brushed hair out of his eyes with his hand.

He frowned back at Fritz saying, "I am fine, thanks for your concern. And I am crippled remember?" He chuckled but thought to himself He gets me angry. He brushed his anger away like a lock of hair and put on a sharky smirk saying, "Wanna play cards?" He held up a deck of cards and took one out, brushing the top of his finger tips along the card and it felt hot to the touch.

((Just wanted to let you know, since it seems like Davin leans towards fire, that Fritz will heal perfectly from just about any wound. He'll be totally fine in about a day. Just throwing that out there.))

For the first time, Fritz thought that the two of them might have found something they agree on. "Well, it's a good skill to have. You're lucky that you're good enough with people to pull it off. I've always managed on my own, but...I can see what you mean about others helping to make things easier." Scratching his shoulder absently, Fritz wondered why this guy had come up to talk with him in the first place. Maybe he had just been bored and was looking for someone to mess with. In hind sight, sitting on the steps outside reading a book all alone made him a perfect target for bullies. Luckily, it seemed the worst this guy wanted to do was shallowly insult him. None of it even really hurt that much; it was just annoying.

Looking at the deck of card quizzically, Fritz said, "I guess so. It isn't like I have anything better to do," even though he knew full well that he had a book to read and that it would have been a much better use of his time than playing a stupid game with this random kid from his class. However, he didn't even really feel like reading anymore, so he wouldn't have been able to get much done anyway. "Are you really crippled?" he asked, a bit worried that he had rudely assumed that he was just joking. If he really was joking, then Fritz could count it against him and use it as an excuse to be rude to him even more. However, if he was serious about it, then Fritz didn't want to make an insensitive remarks about it. "What game do you want to play, anyway?"

((I don't really have a power set for Davin, he is going to shift to something since Loki was a shifter. But I think he can shift items as well.))

Davin shrugged saying with a sly remark, "I am just sneaky that way. People think they are helping themselves while helping me. It comes in handy." Davin could tell he was unsure about him and Davin felt the same way about him. There was just something he doesn't like about it that makes him want to throw him down the stairs but at the same time he seemed something to entertain him, he was pretty good looking. This is confusing.

He took the cards out of his hands and shuffled it, the cards looking like a rainbow shuffling between his hands. He sat down infront of Fritz, part of him wanting to back away or confront him. He raised a brow and said, "I was at a time when I was born my legs couldn't work right." He shrugged trying to brush off the thought that his parents forbidden him to ask why his legs couldn't work and said, "Therapy helps." He dealed out the cards evenly to him and said, "BS. Call each other bullshit cards. It's fun."

((Okay. I'm going to bed after this post, but I'll be on again tomorrow. This is fun, even though all they do is argue. ))

As the boy sat down in front of him, Fritz felt more and more uncomfortable, not only because of how close the boy kept coming, but also because Fritz still didn't know his name. At that point he felt it would be rude to ask, even though they were already being almost exclusively rude to each other, but at the same time he felt as though he could never fully trust someone whose name he didn't know. Still, he figured it was better safe than sorry and decided not to ask at all.

"I should have guessed you'd choose the only card game with a curse in its name," Fritz commented about the boy's choice, wondering why he couldn't have picked something simpler, like Go-Fish. Still, it would be something to focus on other than their proximity. "Well, you look fine to me. You didn't seem to have much trouble walking," Fritz commented, trying to brush it off like it was nothing. In reality he knew that it shouldn't have changed his view of the guy, and for the most part it didn't, but he still felt a little awkward about it, mostly because he hadn't believed him at first. Still, he didn't seem to take offense about it, so it obviously wasn't a big deal.

((Okay. x3 I think tomorrow it should be like "hate you" "hate you more" "no!" "yes!" -Make out- xD))

Davin could feel eyes on him from Fritz but he chose to ignore and chuckled, "It is a fun game. Bullshit." He looked in eyes with a smirk and said, "I am good at bullshitting so why not choose something I am good at?" He titled his head to the side saying, "Yes, therapy helps quite a bit."

He was slightly uncomfortable by how it was his fault that the guy was mentioning the word cripped. Something my father use to call me. He brushed the thought off and laid a card down with it's face to the ground saying, "One ace." He smirked up at Fritz saying, "You believe me right?" He held his own cards close to his chest.

((lol, wut? O.o They just met, kind of...I think it should take more than a day for them to get to know each other. Besides, like in any good manga, there has to be some kind of angsty revelation before they make-out. I think it goes argue - friendship - argue - angst - angst - love, or something like that. :XD Just a little more time for them; they'll have plenty of chances to make out later.))

"Can you at least say BS instead of having to say the entire thing?" Fritz asked, not liking it when people cursed. It made him feel uncomfortable, since he was only used to people using them when they were angry. Although it was true that the two of them didn't exactly get along, he didn't feel like they had to curse at each other just yet. "Yeah, well I'm not surprised. You do seem like the type," he said, meaning it as both an insult and a compliment. There wasn't much good in a talent that was only ever used for bad; at least that's what Fritz believed. "So why do you just have a pack of cards handy, anyway? Are you always that bored?" he asked, wondering why he couldn't have something more productive to do.

Trying to ignore their discussion about the other guy's handicap, Fritz said, "It's only the start of the game, how should I know..." although he knew for a fact that he already didn't trust him. However, he didn't have any aces in his own hand, so it was very possible that he was telling the truth. Deciding not to chance it, Fritz let it go and looked at his own hand. "One two," he said, although he was putting down a seven. He had a pair of threes, but they weren't going to be any good unless there was something else to play them off of, so he waited for the other guy to take his turn. "What's your name, anyway?" he asked, finally deciding to get it out of the way, now that they had something to concentrate on other than just each other. It was really starting to bug him that he didn't know.

((Oh I know. Lol I am just saying they are going to have a love-hate relationship. Lol I figured out he can change item appearances.. Like cards. x3 That's how he is good at them without realizing his power.))

He put a finger to his chin and thought, "Nope." He brushed dark hair out of his face and shuffled cards in his hand. This guy seems like a prude.. At least my hands don't hurt anymore.. I don't know what that is about.. He raised a brow and said, "Type? And I carry cards around because I am good at cards. If I don't have a computer near me, cards are the next best thing."

Davin pursed his lips saying, "It's a test of fate." He had a feeling Fritz was lying but he put down a card said, "One three." He glanced at his hand and thought I need a three. His fingers lifted from the card and he thought he felt a spark of some sort. He pulled his hand back and slightly shook it out of the slight pain. He raised a brow and he said, "Davin, and your's starts with 'F' or something like that right? Fag?" He smirked playfully at him.

((lol. Oh yeah, that's for sure. And ouch; I think you hit a nerve with Fritz. T^T))

Sighing at the guy's response, Fritz just chalked it up to his devil-may-care attitude and continued with the game. Even though he knew that it was only the name of the game and only part of playing it, he still didn't like the fact that the boy insisted on saying it. Still, it was expected of such a character, so it didn't bother him as much as it may have if he'd been playing with someone else. "So you like computers, then?" Fritz asked, having only really used them for research. As helpful as they were with projects and papers, he really preferred actual books when it came to gathering information; they just seemed much more reliable.

"I think you mean a test of faith," Fritz corrected, trying to figure out what he meant by that. Perhaps he was talking about the game, in which case he must have misspoken. Besides, Fritz thought as their game continued, [/i]there's no such thing as fate.[/i] "Two threes," he said, setting his cards down on top of the one that had just been played. He still didn't have a good sense of this guy, so he would have to keep an eye on the flow of cards rather than on his opponent; at least until he figured out the cues for his fibbing. Just as he was about to give his full name, Fritz heard the worst possible three-letter word in the English language escape from Davin's lips. Slamming his hand onto the ground, he grabbed his backpack and jumped up saying, "That's it! I'm walking home!" and headed off down the steps and out to the parking lot. Even though his house as a good half-hour away by driving, it was better than having to be anywhere near Davin.

((I did? Time for confortation. xD))

Davin chuckled and said, "I like computers." And he shrugged saying, "Fate. It's more influencial than faith." He sighed as the kid got angry and he gathered the cards up quickly and followed after him. He called out to him saying with true honesty, "I am sorry. I did not mean to be offensive. I am a fag so it doesn't bother me." He ran infront of him and stopped so the guy would stop infront of him.

He pointed to a car parked and saying, "That's mine, if you want me to give you a ride home?" He held out his car keys and raised a brow saying with a tired voice, "Or we could finish our game.." He felt like confronting the guy but he was feeling like it wasn't anger that would help at the moment.

((lol. Their relationship is like a constant confrontation, isn't it? XD They're the type that can hardly stand each other, but they'll stay together anyway, even if they don't have a good reason. Maybe it's because they're both stubborn?))

Flinging his backpack over his shoulder as he stormed away, Fritz tried as hard as he could to ignore Davin, but it obviously wasn't working; it was like a fly buzzing in his ear. "Stop using that word!" he demanded, trying to pug his ears with his fingers. Even if Davin hadn't meant it as an insult, which Fritz was sure he had, he hated that word. No matter how it was meant, it drove him insane to have to hear it. Davin had already done such a perfect job of annoying him, Fritz didn't know why he had to stoop so low as to use that word. When the other boy blocked his path, Fritz looked at him with hatred, his face pink and his fists clenched.

"No I don't want a ride from you!" he yelled, not caring if he was overreacting or not. "You think you can just insult me like that and then expect me to go back to playing a game, just like nothing happened? Why don't you give yourself a ride home and stop bugging me!?" Walking around Davin huffily, he continued on his way out of the parking lot. Whether or not he made it home on his own, Fritz didn't care, but he certainly wasn't about to let a freak like Davin give him a ride. Not only did he not trust the guy, but the way he was acting told him that it wouldn't be safe. Shaking his head as he tried to clear his mind, Fritz knew that he would have to come up with a way to get home on his own and make up some kind of story for his parents.
