[ImotoXOscar] Yin & Yang

Name: Cyrus Caelum
Age: 2,570 (mid to late twenties in human years)
Appearance: http://Atomic-Clover.deviantart.com/...Light-93297358 (not mine, obviously, and without the purple cape and jewels)
Likes: plants (especially flowers,) tea, jam, his work, kind humans, other angels, gentle animals
Dislikes: demons, wild animals, spicy foods, jewelry, greedy people, violent humans, war

((Was there anything else you wanted in the profile? Also, would you like to make the first post, or should I? I almost strangled the internet because I couldn't find a good pic, but I thought this one would do well.))

Name: Arieh Idan
Age: 3,765 years old
Appearance: Heeee. Picture's not mine either. I can't draw. D:
Likes: Smoking, reading, going out for walks, cats, architecture, moonlight.
Dislikes: Angels, cute fluffy stuff, optimism (he's more of a realist), people in general. He's kind of a loner.

Nah, profile's good. Maybe add a backstory? But then, it's just the two of us, so maybe it's not necessary.

Imoto-chan_Always 08-24-2009 09:27 PM

((Nah, I can add a bit of that. Might help you get a better sense of him before we start. Also, this isn't the Celestia everyone's used to, but your demon will find out more about that later, I'm sure.))

Bio: Trained for most of his life as a healer, Cyrus was sent to earth as both a guardian angel and a wish granter for virtuous humans in need of help. Although he misses his home and friends back in Celestia, Cyrus treasures his time on Earth for the freedom it affords him and the good that he can do for humans. Although he has no power against evil humans, he feels that by rewarding good humans he can help to spread love and justice.

((Was that enough?))

Oscar the Wild 08-27-2009 07:55 PM

That's actually pretty good. How about mine?

Bio: Arieh's job as a demon was to tempt humans. He still does this, not that he really wants to, and would rather be alone, as he really doesn't like people.

Yeah, mine's not good. Sorry.

Imoto-chan_Always 08-28-2009 04:47 AM

((It's fine. Not bad at all. Would you like to make the first post, or should I? And how should they meet? O.o))

Oscar the Wild 08-28-2009 05:09 PM

You should. It's your roleplay after all. Hm. I don't know. Maybe they meet at a castle in the woods?

Imoto-chan_Always 08-29-2009 03:42 AM

((Oooo, how about they start having a fight over a human instead? XD Like, Cyrus descends from the sky to a lonely traveller telling him that he will grant him a wish for his purity of heart, while at the same time Arieh comes along to temp him into sin. Then they start arguing in a "I saw him first!" kind of thing. Does that sound good?))

Oscar the Wild 08-29-2009 05:25 PM

(You know, that would be a good idea. Actually, Imma go edit the bio).

((M'kay. XD I'll start it off then.))

Flying peacefully over the forests of earth, Cyrus thought about how much nicer it was on earth than in Celestia. On earth he was free to fly where he wanted, and so long as he kept himself hidden from evil humans, he could also go wherever he pleased. There was so much free time on earth, and watching the humans in their daily lives was a joy in itself. Everything seemed perfect, although the angel wondered if earth was really supposed to be more enjoyable than Celestia. It was always important for an angel to be dedicated and to truly enjoy their job, but was it bad to like it better than their own home world?

Shaking the thoughts from his head, Cyrus searched for a good human to reward, since he had not had a chance to yet that day. Swooping down closer to the trees, he saw a few people on the edge of the woods, although they were just women gossiping. Farther into the trees, however, he spotted a woodcutter, shopping a tree stump into pieces. Looking at him, Cyrus remembered the man from before, having seen him working every day in the forest chopping up lumber to be used as firewood or for carpentry. Such an honest man of the soil was certainly a proper candidate. Taking his crystal ball out of his messenger bag, Cyrus peered at the man through its warped glass, studying his soul.

Sure enough, the human that Cyrus had set his sights on was pure of heart, and equally dedicated to his job and his community. Smiling with satisfaction, Cyrus tucked away his crystal ball and descended delicately and elegantly upon the man. "O honest toiler of the land," he began, trying to be as eloquent as he could, "I have seen the goodness within your heart and watched as you laboured endlessly here in the forest. For your cleanness of soul, I offer unto you one wish."

Arieh stepped out from behind the trees. He glared at the woodcutter and at the silly creature who dared call himself Cyrus. Goodness? Bah. What's next, "Pureness of the heart?" Well, he was a demon, and demons had to tempt. It was their job. What else could they do?

He walked over to the pair, silently creeping as a cat walks, and found himself behind the woodcutter.

"Yes, there is goodness in your heart," he began quietly. Cyrus and the woodcutter turned around, with Cyrus surpressing a frown. "Yet, I have also seen impurity, lust, desire and sin. I too, would offer you one wish. That, my dearest woodcutter," he added with a note of charm in his voice, almost a purr, "I am curious to know what it is?"

Imoto-chan_Always 08-31-2009 02:07 AM

Shocked to see a demon in such a place, the angel scowled at him before putting on a pious, blank face and said, "Heed not the words of that infidel who stands beside you, but rather, listen to the goodness in your heart. No sin is worth the punishment, and ever kind act is smiled warmly upon and rewarded for good reason. Which do you prefer? To live as an earthly saint, admired by your peers and loved by your protectors, or to burn for eternity in a fiery sulfur pit in Hell?" he asked, keeping a look of sincere concern on his face. "Dear sir, there is only one sensible option. We both offer you a wish; anything your heart desires. Yet the vessel you choose shall decide your ultimate fate."

Thinking to himself that he had this little competition in the bag, Cyrus looked over at the demon and sized him up. The monster was nothing to sneeze at, but he wasn't so powerful that he could get in Cyrus' way. After all, if he was ever in trouble, a single shriek is all it would take to have a small army of angels at his side. There was nothing the demon could do to hurt Cyrus, but if he succeeded in luring the human into sin, then Cyrus would have failed his mission; to reward those of good heart. If this human did give into the demon's temptations, then it would prove that he was not as pure as Cyrus originally thought, and what an embarrassment that would be!

Oscar the Wild 08-31-2009 02:18 AM

Yes, he was handsome, Arieh considered, Cyrus, anyway, but he seemed so pious and self-righteous, all of those values contrary to demons. Meeting an angel seemed so odd even now.

"Yes, sure, live your life in nigh-asecticisim," Arieh sneered, "but what about the pleasures of the flesh? Of the emotion? And you know that all saints die gruesome deaths, right?"
