Name: Oslo Richards
Gang Nickname: Bloody Knuckles (Blood for short)
Age: 19
Appearance: http://chaySingDreams.deviantart.com...gster-19692324 (obviously not mine)
Bio: Oslo worked his way up through the ranks of the Black Jacks gang from the very bottom. Although often reserved, even most members of his own gang fear him, as he has proven in the past how delicate the balance between genius and insanity is. He finally won the title of Leader after a rousing game of Russian Roulette with the old leader. He prides himself in having never actually killed anyone, and espouses the philosophy of beating opponents into submission rather that eliminating the competition completely. In his eyes, the world is a game of Risk, and he's willing to use every strategy up his sleeves to get the things he desires most.
Surprising Fact?: He actually has a fetish for cute things, but don't be fooled; it doesn't mean he's any less dangerous.

((Was that okay? Tell me if you want me to add anything to his profile. Also, would you like to start, or should I?))

((You can start if you'd like. ^^))

Name: Alexander LeCompt
Gang Nickname: Shorty
Age: 17
Appearence: ALex
Bio: Alex was born into a relatively poor family and when he was still fairly young, their house was foreclosed on. His mother took to prostitution to get money for groceries, and being that it was such a dangerous job, she was killed. Alex's father took to heavy alcohol abuse and kind of separated from the remainds of the family. As his siblings grew older, most of them left the family yo live with friends and what started out as a rather large family dwindled down to just Alex and his older brother who was eventually shot and killed in a drive by shooting by a gang member who happened to be a rival of the Black Jacks. Some of the guys from the Black Jacks found Alex all alone and decided to take him in as one of their own out of pitty.
Surprising fact: none really.

((Okay, here goes!))

Sitting on the old, disembodied front seat of a pick-up truck that had become his throne, Oslo discussed with the rest of the gang their latest problem; their rival gang, the Diamond Backs, wasn't paying the ransom they'd demanded for their hostage. Although their hostage was only fresh meat, Oslo knew that the Diamonds would never let the Black Jacks get one-up on them, and because they hadn't paid yet it meant trouble. "So we're all agreed?" he asked the rest of the gang, who were scattered before him on make-shift chairs. "The Diamond Backs are either preparing a raid, failing miserably at gathering the money for the ransom, or otherwise they simply don't care." From the others came grunts and nods, as the topic had already been discussed at length, and all of the possibilities agreed upon by majority rule.

As he looked around at the faces he'd come to know so well, Oslo couldn't help but notice that one among them was missing. "Where's Short-stuff?" he asked, a bit annoyed that the only piece of eye-candy the gang owned hadn't bothered to show up for such an important meeting.

"I think I might have what you're looking for," said a low, gruff voice as the door to the abandoned warehouse rose. In walked three Diamond Backs, the one in the middle unmistakably their leader, the King of Diamonds. "I'm afraid we couldn't scrape enough money together for your ransom," he said, smirking pompously, "but I think we've got an equally good bargaining chip." At the snap of his fingers, his two cronies lifted up what they held between them; Alex, held by both writs behind his back.

Smiling back at his enemies, Oslo said, "Very well. I think that's an acceptable substitute. Dark Horse?" he called to the boy guarding their hostage. Standing up grudgingly, the boy pushed a rolling chair out of the shadows where one of the Diamond Backs was bound and gagged. "Release him," Oslo ordered gently, watching as the ropes were removed. A kick of the chair, however, sent the guy flying into the two goonies, who dropped Alex roughly on his butt. "You'll regret this," Oslo added in a sing-song voice, watching the four rival gangster walked out without another word.

Turning his attention to the boy who had just been dropped back into their base, Oslo smiled and said, "Why hello there Shorty. So nice of you to join us. Unfortunately, it seems as though we no longer have any pressing business to attend to. I'll punish you for missing such an important meeting later. For now, have a seat," he finished, patting the empty shotgun seat to his right.

((Sorry if I took too many liberties, but I thought it sounded good. Do you like the name I gave the rival gang?))

((That's okay, I like the name. ^^))

At first Alex was keeping as quiet as possible, afraid to say much of anything. He was scared...really scared, but he had trusted the gang would do whatever they could to get him back and save him from their enemies. He couldn't stand being picked up and pushed around like he was a ragdoll or something, but there really wasn't anything he could do about it, so he just let them do as they pleased and waited to be set free.

As expected, he was released. He knew Oslo wouldn't let them keep him hostage...He squeaked quietly when dropped onto the ground, but he wasn;t going to complain. Atleast he was free. He was smiling with relief...but that smile faded quickly when Oslo mentioned that he would be punished...he wasn't sure if it was a joke or not.

Quietly, he scurried over to the seat and sat down, shying away from Oslo a little bit. "I-I'm sorry...I promise I would have been here on time...I just...You know...I couldn't...." he mumbled in his defense, hoping he could get out of ay kind of punishment.

"It's fine," Oslo said, patting his little pet on the head. "We can discuss it later. For now," he said, in a much bigger voice as he turned to the rest of the gang, "we are going to continue with the agenda. We've had an issue in the past with tagging, where other gangs would put graffiti in our territory like dogs pissing on a hydrant," he continued, passion and authority evident in every word he said. "As a result we have had to put effort into cleaning these areas, which, while it garnered the respect of certain locals, was a waste of out precious time. From now on, I hereby give permission for any member of this gang to call in an anonymous tip to the police should you witness such an act first-hand."

As the meeting wore on, Oslo spoke of topics important to the gang, took suggestions, answered questions, and dealt with complaints. By the end of the night when everyone was dismissed, he put an arm around Alex and said, "I'm afraid I'll have to ask you to stay for a bit." After everyone else had left and they were the only ones remaining in their abandoned warehouse of a head quarters, Oslo asked, "They didn't hurt you, did they?" Taking Alex's chin between his fingers and turning his head so that he could look over the boy's entire face. Once assured that there was no visible damage, he asked, "Now do you see why we try to keep you out of our fights? What would happen if they got you during an actual brawl?"

Leaning back in his seat slightly, Oslo's grip on the gang's pet only tightened, although he had no intention of hurting him. Sighing pleasantly as he tilted his head back, he said, "I've got a hankering for tea. Your punishment for missing the meeting will be to come back to my place and make me tea. Does that sound fair?" he asked, knowing that the boy didn't have anyone back home waiting for him. "You could even stay the night, if you liked," he offered with feigned kindness, running a finger up from the boy's collar bone to his chin.

Alex stayed pretty quiet throughout the meeting, just listening and only making comments ever once in a while. And when he did speak his voice was quiet and hardly audible. He stiffened in his seat when Oslo said he'd have to stay for a bit. Like almost everyone in the entire city, Alex was kind of scared of Oslo....especially when the guy told him he'd need to be punished...But he knew better than to dissobey the leader. He swallowed, nodded, and stayed seated, wishing he could have left with all the others.

"N-no...They didn't hurt me..." He answered quietly. All they'd done was basically kidnap him and hold him hostage...they didn't do anything more than that. He glanced into Oslo's eyes with his own big blue ones and nodded slightly. "I-I guess..." he mumbled.

He was still petrified to hear what his punishment would be, but a large wave of relief washed over him when he learned he'd just have to make tea. He actually smiled a bit and loosened up from his previous tenseness. "That sounds perfectly fair!~" he agreed. "Really? I can stay the night? Thank you!" he chirped, very gracious for the opportunity. Alex didn't really have a place of his own, so he typically either slept at the bus station or the park or one of the gang member's houses. He usually alternated who's house he'd sleep at from night to night, taking which ever place was available. But if the weather was good he'd just stay outside...he hated mooching off of people. It was kind of cold that night though, so he certainly would have liked to stay with Oslo.

Chuckling and making an amused yet surprised face at Alex, Oslo said, "You seem a bit too excited considering this is a punishment. Should I add something to your sentence?" he asked with a serious smirk, although he didn't really mean it. He wouldn't change or add to a punishment he'd already decided on. Standing up and stretching, he placed a hand on Alex's head before saying, "Just follow me, kid." Leading the boy out of the warehouse, Oslo made sure to lock the large door behind them, in case anyone showed up and tried to either steal something or vandalize the place. Not that it had ever happened, but he wanted to be prepared.

When they arrived at Oslo's car, he got into the driver's side and started it up as he waited for Alex to climb in as well. It certainly wasn't a new car, but it drove well and never broke down, so he was happy with it. As they were riding along on the way back to his place, he asked, "Have you ever made tea before?" not wanting to entrust something so important to the boy unless he knew what he was doing. It wasn't that Oslo didn't trust him; he just underestimated what the boy could do on a regular basis. Oslo's apartment was near the center of the gang's territory, which made it one of the safest places in the city. Even though he was a gang leader, people respected him and often kept their distance. Those that didn't soon learned to.

When they arrived, Oslo got out and waited for Alex before locking the car. Walking up the steps and inside, they were greeted by a homey smell; a mixture of food and carpeting that had been there since the place was built. Keeping silent the entire way up to the third floor, Oslo unlocked the door to one of the rooms and let Alex in first. Locking the door shut behind them, he took off his hat and hung it on a coat rack next to the door.

"Let me show you the kitchen," he said with a simple smile, leading the way into an open room that was obviously a kitchen. "Tea is in the cabinet," he said, opening one of the little cupboard doors, "pot is on the stove," he said, motioning to a green teapot sitting at the ready, "and water's in the faucet," he finished with a smirk, patting the neck of the faucet that hung into the sink like a drunkard.

"I'll be back out in a few minutes. At least have it on the stove by then," he instructed, taking off his vest as he left Alex in the kitchen and walked into one of the back rooms of the apartment. Changing out of his business clothes and into sweats, he walked back out with the same sultry air, but a nice pair of grey sweats and a simple, white T-shirt. Plopping down onto a couch in front of a TV, he flicked on the news and began his nightly regimen of relaxing.

Alex shook his head rapidly side to side, hoping Oslo wouldn't add to his sentence. Once again, he was being very quiet. He simply nodded and followed Oslo, getting into the car after him and just gazing out the window the whole way to Oslo's apartment.

He nodded in response to Oslo's question, wondering why he would even ask if he'd made tea before. Even if he never had, he was pretty sure it wouldn't have taken him too long to figure it out. Sometimes he wondered if Oslo thought he was a complete moron or something...It always made him feel dumb when Oslo assumed he was stupid...

He followed closely behind Oslo as they entered theapartment, not wanting to get lost. His eyes wondered around the kitchen once they were inside and he made mental notes of everything Oslo told him. He quickly walked over to the cabinet and reached up to get the tea....but it was a bit high up and he could hardly see what he was doing. he had to feel around a little bit to find a box of tea bags...but he wound up knocking a glass sugar shaker onto the floor...which resulted in it shattering. Alex squeaked quietly and started to panick, really hoping Oslo hadn't heard it break...maybe he could just clean it up really fast...

Hearing the harsh sound of shattering glass on the floor and the accompanying hissing of tiny particles racing across the floor, Oslo cringed, hating it when anything interrupted his relaxation time. Standing up with force, he walked over to the kitchen and glared angrily down at Alex, his arms crossed over his chest, tapping a finger against the muscle of a biceps. The venom in his eyes would have been enough to make a cop think twice before shooting. Just as he was about to say something, he closed his eyes and pressed two fingers to the skin between his eyes, massaging it as his face turned pink. Sighing, he turned around and walked back into one of the other rooms.

When he returned he was carrying a brush and dust pan, which he held out to Alex angrily, being sure to keep a frightening glare at the boy until he finally took them. Walking back to the couch, he sat down again with an exasperated sigh, picking up the remote once more and turning the volume up a notch. As he set the remote control back onto the coffee table before him, he tried not to think about the wasted sugar and broken container he would have to replace.

The worst part of it all was that he always had sugar in his tea, and all the sugar he had left had been in the now ruined shaker, meaning he would have to go out and buy more the following day. Or maybe he could just get Alex to do it as a punishment for being so clumsy.

Alex was frantically looking around for a dust pan, hoping to have the mess cleaned before Oslo came in, but he had no such luck. His eyes went wide and fearful when Oslo came in and glared down at him. Alex cringed and reflexively sheilded his face. He had to admit, he was thoroughly surprised that Oslo didn't yell at him or hit him or something.

He reached out a shakey hand to take the dust pan and brush and quickly started sweeping up the mess he'd made. He wasnted to apologize and offer to get Oslo a new shaker and more sugar....but he couldn't bring himself to form the correct words and he was pretty sure he didn't have enough money anyway. Alex never had more than a dollar or two at a time. He got almost all his money from either strangers who pittied him for having no home or just finding it on the ground...He'd tried pickpocketing a few times, but he never felt right doing that.

As he sat on the couch and tried to compose himself, Oslo wished that he didn't always have such a short temper. In front of his gang he kept as straight a face and as cool a head as he could, but when he didn't have all of their fearful and admiring eyes on him, he reverted back to the way he'd been before he'd become their leader; a deadbeat with an attitude problem.

Sighing as he rubbed away a developing headache, he said over his shoulder to Alex, "When you're done cleaning that up just pour the tea and bring it over here." Although he still sounded a bit annoyed, he wasn't angry any longer. Of all the people in their gang, Alex was the klutz, and rightfully so. He was only their pet after all, a mascot that they could feel proud to fight for.

Deciding that it would be fair to just make him go buy another shaker and more sugar the following day, Oslo waited for his tea to be served so that he could let Alex know he wasn't in trouble for knocking over and breaking the container. Having never been one to apologize out loud, Oslo wasn't about to just call over his shoulder again, but he also didn't want the boy living in constant fear of him like some people did. He didn't know all of the details, but according to the other members of the gang, Alex had a rough life before joining the Black Jacks, and he still didn't have a permanent residence. The least he could do was avoid scaring the kid too much.

Alex nodded, but then realizing Oslo probably couldn't see him, he answered, "Okay." He tried to move as quickly as he could, sweeping the peices ond grains of sugar into the dust pan. He sliced the side of one of his fingers on a shard of glass and just winced and stuck the finger in his mouth. It wasn't bleeing much, so he figured it would be fine and just went back to cleaning.

After a few minutes, he finished and dumped the contents of the dust pan into the garbage, then he found a pot and filled it with water to boil on the stove top.

As he watched the news, Oslo let the thought of Alex and the sugar shaker slip into the back of his mind. Instead, he focused on business, which he normally tried to avoid doing while he was at home relaxing. However, there were pressing matters to attend to, and he wanted to be able to come up with a solution before the next gang meeting. When the Diamond Backs had captured Alex to use as ransom in place of money, they had been making a huge mistake. Anyone else in the Black Jacks was fair game; they could all hold their own in a fight, and some of them were good enough to take on multiple enemies at once. However, Alex was the one member of the gang they never allowed to get involved in a skirmish, and by targeting him, the Diamond Backs had stepped over an invisible red line.

The news was mostly uninteresting and mainly talked about the same thing Oslo heard from them everyday; crimes, deaths, scandal. None of them concerned him, however, so long as his gang wasn't involved. The one thing that set them apart from other gangs was that they had honour and class. Oslo didn't tolerate senseless violence, theft, and damage of public property. Not only had the Black Jacks become a relatively "clean" gang, but they had also become a fearsome vigilante force, channeling their influence, power, and sense of pride into making their territory a place that people felt safe in. Best of all, the police rarely ever bothered them unless it was for something stupid like loitering or skateboarding in the wrong place.

Alex waited for the water to boil, but then he remembered the old saying: A watched pot never boils. So he looked away, as though that would help. He thought about joining Oslo in the other room while he waited...but he wasn't so sure that would be the smartest idea at the moment, so instead he gathered the rest of the stuff he'd need. A mug, a tea bag...He wondered if Oslo would have wanted sugar...He decided to ask..he could always find a substitute sweetener.

He shyly shuffled into the living room and cleared his throught to get Oslo's attention. "Uhm...If you uuh want I could use honey or cinnomin or something to make it sweet instead of sugar..." he mumbled, letting Oslo choose what he wanted. It was obvious by his slumping posture, lack of eye contact, and quiet voice that Alex was sory for what he had done and he was still afraid of Oslo.

Tearing his thoughts away from work for a moment as Alex walked in, Oslo looked over at him with a mostly blank expression, trying to think of the best way to say sorry. Hearing his tone of voice and watching his posture carefully, he could see that Alex was sorry, and that he was a bit scared. "Honey will be fine," he said, knowing the cinnamon was never the proper thing to put into a cup of green tea. "It's in the cabinet next to the one the sugar was in, on the left, he said, wanting to be helpful, yet at the same time letting Alex complete his current punishment on his own.

Leaning back into the couch comfortably as he returned his eyes to the news, Oslo chuckled at a story about the Diamond Backs getting into trouble with the law again. Their real problem was a lack of organization and leadership, but the Diamond Backs also had trouble with drugs, violence, and destruction of public property, all of which Oslo strove to eliminate from his own gang. Shaking his head with a smirk, he thought to himself that they would never be successful if they let their followers run around like wild dogs. The King of Diamonds had no idea what he was doing, which would make getting revenge rather easy.

Alex nodded and scurred back into the kitchen, as quickly as he could. More carefully this time, he reached into the cabinet and got a bottle of honey, as well as a tea bag. The water was starteing to boil, so he placed the tea bag inside and dunked it in and out, wiggling it around to try and make it as strong as possible.

Once he was finished with that, he threw the tea bag away and poured the hot liquid into a mug, then added a spoonfull of honey and stirred it in. Next came the chore of bringing it to Oslo without spilling any...He moved slow as a snail, being incredibly careful since the tea came to the very top of the mug. After a few more slow careful steps, he was in the living room. "Here...Careful, it's hot...Uhm...I can get you some ice cubes if you want to cool it off..." he offered shyly, handing the mug to Oslo.

Taking the mug, Oslo blew on it a few times before taking a careful sip. "Mmmm...very nice," he said with a satisfied smiled, and set the cup down on a coaster he had already waiting on the coffee table in front of him. Reaching over with one arm, Oslo took Alex around the waist and gently brought him down onto the couch beside him. Sitting like that in silence, just watching the TV for a few more minutes, Oslo picked up his tea and took another sip before saying, "Tomorrow I'll give you some money and you can go to the store and buy me more sugar and a new shaker. Does that sound fair?" he asked, looking Alex in the eyes and waiting for a reply. Even though he always asked someone if they thought their sentence was fair before handing it down, their answer rarely changed his mind.

Sipping his tea once more before setting the cup down again, he asked Alex, "Do you, uh...watch the news much?" It wasn't the most exciting topic of conversation, but Oslo couldn't think of anything else to talk about with the boy. Not only were they on completely opposite ends of the power spectrum within the gang, but they were completely different people too. Oslo knew that he was feared and respected, and he enjoyed that, though he never let the power go to his head. Alex, however, was seen as little more than a pet by most of the gang, and even then he rarely seemed to know what to do with himself. There was simply no way for Oslo to try and put himself in he boy's shoes.

Alex waited anxiously while Oslo took a sip, hoping he'd like it. He smiled when he said it was good. Being pulled over by his waiste kind of surprised him however and he couldn't help but go kind of stiff.

"That sounds perfectly fair." he agreed. As long as he didn't have to use his own money, he didn't mind...since he had no money of his own to spend. He absent-mindedly stared at the television, but he didn't understand half the stuff the new anchor was talking about.

He shook his head no in response to Oslo's question. Considering he didn't have his own home, he had no TV...he spent alot of time at houses of random members in the gang, but most of them would rather watch cartoons than the news...

Glad to hear that Alex had no objections about his next punishment, Oslo returned his focus to the stories on the TV. There wasn't much of interest on, but Oslo always kept the news on anyway, just in case something important happened and he wanted to hear about it. Although he didn't remove his hand from Alex's waist, Oslo made sure not to hold him to tightly, lest he make the boy uncomfortable. Although he always wanted his gang members to respect and partially fear him, he also wanted them to feel as though they could trust and rely on him.

"I didn't think so," he replied, having thought that Alex didn't seem like the type to pay much attention to current events and politics. Although politics weren't Oslo's favourite subject, he always made sure to keep himself up to date on the important things around the city, including major politics. He didn't care for the current major, considering the man was a blundering idiot, but at the least he wasn't apt to stir up trouble for the gangs in the area. He seemed more concerned about the unemployment rate to even care about them. "So why were you so eager to stay here the night when it was supposed to be your punishment?" Oslo asked out of curiosity, having never seen someone react so well to a sentence.

"Hmm? Well...it's cold outside." Alex responded, not realizing Oslo might not have known he didn't have a house. He usually slept over other gang members' houses, but he'd never slept over Oslo's before since he'd never been offered and frankly he was always afraid to ask.

He hadn't even realized staying the night at Oslo's house was meant to be part of the punishment...he thought Oslo was trying to be nice...He was pretty confused as to how staying over someone's house was a punishment though. For him it was one if the best prveleges he could ask for...

"Why yes...it is..." Oslo responded, looking over his shoulder towards one of the back rooms. There was only one window in his entire apartment, on one wall of his bedroom. However, he was still lucky to have it, as it was his only connection to the outside world while he was home. At first Oslo thought Alex was simply making polite conversation about the weather, the type of thing Oslo was used to hearing at the beginning of a letter. However, when he realized that it was odd timing for a comment on the forecast, Oslo wondered if Alex wasn't talking about his living situation.

"Alex, you aren't...homeless, are you?" he asked a bit hesitantly, hoping that his uncertainty didn't show in his voice. It wasn't as if Oslo had anything against homeless people; quite the opposite. When he thought about it, Alex had never talked about his parents or any siblings, and it seemed as though he never had any kind of curfew. While most of the gang members would simply ignore curfews if they had them or were living on their own, Oslo realized that Alex had never left the meetings in the same direction.

"You...didn't know that already?" Alex asked quietly. He knew he'd never told Oslo that he was homeless...he just kind of assumed he knew. Some of the other gang members knew and they told most of the other ones...but it seemed no one had told Oslo.

He really didn't like talking about his homelessness much since he didn't really like it when people pittied him. And pitty was usually what he recieved when people found out...Though he supposed it wasn't so bad when they offered him money or hot meals because of it. Alex hated accepted offers like that, but sometimes he had to if it was the only way he could get food.

Feeling a little embarrassed, Oslo turned his gaze to the floor, looking a bit flustered and a tad annoyed. He hated it when people caught him off-guard, but this was a moment where he couldn't help himself. Although he knew Alex often stayed with other members of the gang, he had never assumed it was because he didn't have a home to go back to. Rather, he'd assumed that there was difficulty within his family that he didn't want to have to deal with on a nightly basis. Oslo could remember his own family problems that led to him joining the Black Jacks in the first place. However, he wasn't sure which was worse; having a family you hated or not having a family at all.

Not knowing what to say next now that he'd made the situation completely awkward, Oslo said, "Why don't you pour yourself a cup of tea too. I forgot that it was rude not to offer something to a guest." Having never actually had guests in his apartment before, Oslo wasn't sure how he was supposed to treat guests. However, now that he knew that Alex was homeless, he felt bad about being angry with him and always toying with him. As the gang's leader, he couldn't let his personal feelings get in the way of how he treated people. However, as a human being he couldn't help but want to make Alex feel better.

Alex just stared at him for a moment, kind of surprised to see Oslo like that. He didn't think he'd ever seen him flustered like that. It seemed unusual...Oslo had always appeared to have known everything...he always knew what to do, no matter the situation...Atleast that was what Alex thought anyway.

"Oh...I don't need anything." Alex answered with a small smile. He thought there was enough tea left over to get himself a cup...but then there wouldn't be enough if Oslo wanted a second cup. And Alex wasn't thirsty anyway. Besides, getting to stay indoors for the night was enough to make him happy.

When Alex refused Oslo's offer of tea, the gang leader felt his heart sink even lower. If the boy wouldn't accept a cup of tea, then how could he make himself feel better about bringing up a sensitive subject like that? Trying to simply ignore it and put the incident in the back of his mind, Oslo instead turned his attention back to the television and the stories being played on the news.

After a while, Oslo yawned and checked a clock hanging precariously from one of the apartment walls. Taking his arm from around Alex, he said, "I'm going to bed. You can watch anything you want on TV as long as you keep the volume down, or you can go to sleep if you want. You can have the couch," he added, feeling a bit bad that he didn't have a guest room to offer the boy. Scratching the back of his neck, he said, "Well...I guess I'll see you in the morning, then."

Taking his empty tea cup, Oslo went into the kitchen and washed it out. Drying it and putting it back on the shelf, he remembered the tea pot and cleaned at out as well. Once everything was put away, he went back out and into the back of the apartment. Pausing slightly on his way, he said, "Good night," quietly and a bit awkwardly. Continuing quickly to his room, he closed the door and jumped into his bed.
