Fatima only looked on sadly as she put one of her hands on his wrist. "Tell me what...?" She looked behind her shoulder. "What is it that you'd say that I wouldn't love you for...?"

As Fatima turned her head to look back at him, Kyan kissed her cheek, "There are just some things that cannot be forgiven... Like what I am... and I cannot change it either." he told her. He wanted to tell her the truth, but knew she would definitely disappear if she knew, so he was struggling not to tell her, for both their sakes.

Fatima leaned into him a little as he kissed her cheek. "What you are...?" She repeated questioningly. "...What are you...?" She asked. She gave him an almost pleading look, that told him she wouldn't run away, or at least try to, should he tell her.

Kyan looked into Fatima's eyes. He couldn't hold out telling her any longer. He couldn't help it... He turned her around gently by her shoulders. Before he answered, he kissed her gently on the lips. If he was going to ruin his chances with her, as the impending doom creeped through him, he needed something to remember her by, and he wanted this one last kiss. He pulled his lips away slightly, but kept his face close to hers, and his eyes remained closed, "I am a killer..." he whispered, "I am a half-breed dragon." he said, opening his eyes to look at her with the last part. His eyes were soft as he watched her for a reaction. One way or another, she deserved to know and he had brought this on himself.

Fatima felt him kiss her as she blushed faintly, before she looked at his face as it was close to hers. But then, she heard him say those next words. Her eyes widened a bit, even as he opened his own eyes. "...A Half... Dragon...?" As she spoke the last word, she suddenly felt an even stronger pull at her mind, this time it was akin to a headache. "Gaah...!" She moaned a bit as she leaned into him in a sort of faint. And in fact, she was starting to become light-headed because of this tug to her mind...

"Fatima?!" he asked, holding her up, "Are you okay?" Of course she wasn't. He knew this was going to happen and he told her anyway. 'Stupid, stupid, Kyan!' he thought. He shouldn't have told her... Now, when she was fully awake, she was going to run as fast as she could back to her kingdom. She'd probably have the guards after him and whatever of his people they could find. This was a disaster. ..but Kyan wasn't completely thinking of the guards attacking, he was more concerned with what Fatima thought of him now, and even more important, how she felt.

"..." It was a short period before she awoke again, noticing that she was being held by Kyan. She tried to hold back a blush on realizing that. Finally, she sighed. "Kyan..." She began to speak up again. "...Please don't hurt me... please don't leave me..." She almost pleaded.

When she didn't wake up right away, he figured she had actually fainted and sank to the ground, holding her in his lap. He cradled her head in his arms as she lay there. He looked around awhile, afraid to look at her, because he didn't know when she would awake and he did not want to look her in the eye. Not then.
He closed his eyes briefly and when he did, he heard her waking. When she said his name and 'please don't hurt me', he instantly thought, 'It's over...' between the pause she made... but when he heard the last part, he looked down at her. He stared at her a moment, "You-You do not want me to leave...?" Kyan's confusion showed on his face. He had been so sure that she wouldn't want to be around him once she found out. Did she remember what he told her before she fainted? |
"Yes..." Fatima simply nodded. "I told you I wouldn't leave you no matter what you told me... remember...?" She reminded him. She was a bit depressed to see the look on his face.

Kyan smiled a little, some of the confusion leaving his face, "And my being a killer hasn't scared you off?" he asked, trying to make sure she understood what she was saying. Could she really love a killer? A half dragon prince...

Fatima shook her head. "I... I just can't bring myself to imagine you as a killer..." She replied. Even after what they've been through, she just couldn't...

Kyan hugged her tightly, smiling a little at her innocent line of thinking. "But Fatima, you should know that it is true..." he said. Whether she wanted to imagine it or not, it was the truth, and she needed to know.

Fatima started to hug him back. "Yes... But... I still haven't run away... just like I promised..." She tried to smile a little upon saying that.

Kyan smiled a little. It was hard to believe, but she really wasn't running away. He looked at her, "Then... you still want to marry me...?" he asked, looking at her, searching her face for the slightest hints.

Fatima continued to smile as she nodded. "Yes... Yes, I do..." And with that, she began to lean her face towards his as she closed her eyes, with a light blush.

Kyan leaned down and kissed her gently on the lips. He relished the moment before pulling away, expecting the next question would ruin it, "What about your father...?" he asked, not moving his face too far from hers. Kyan couldn't be sure, but he expected the king wouldn't be too happy having half-dragon grandchildren.

She blinked for a moment. "Huh... Oh..." She thought this over, expecting that he would be asking about him being a half-dragon. "I... I don't know that dragons existed, so I haven't asked him about that..." She confessed.

Kyan nodded, "If you mention it to him, he'll have my and my people hunted down, Fatima." he informed her. It wasn't possible that her family would let her go with him, they couldn't get married. Her father would most likely have him killed...

She shook her head. "I.. I don't think he will... he's always been a just man, and my mother was an elf, he told me..." She gasped, catching herself as she mentioned her mother, but it was too late. "...Ah.." She tried to pick it back up. "As... As I was saying... is that surely he'd understand..."

He tilted her head, "That is what is in your blood that I smelt? Elf blood?" he asked. "I knew you weren't a full human..." Kyan said. He didn't know much about elves though. "what is wrong?" he asked, noticing her gasp.

"Oh... it's just that... those outside my kingdom wouldn't understand... they think that half-elves are abominations, when really, I'm not..." She tried to explain to him. "Mother told me about that. She wanted me to understand that not everyone is so accepting of my kind..."

Kyan tilted his head a little and laughed, "I don't see anything wrong with your kind. I'm an abomination to people outside my kingdom because I'm half dragon. In my kingdom, some think I'm an abomination because I'm half human. It's a double edged sword." he smiled. He had a good idea what she was thinking, how she was feeling. Most half-breeds weren't accepted by others.

Fatima, for some reason, sighed in relief. "For some reason... I take comfort in hearing that... Hopefully, my father would understand our predicament..." She said worriedly. "Even if it means having him know about what you are..."

Kyan frowned, moving back slightly, though not dropping her, as she was still in his lap, "Fatima, what if he does try and hurt my people? I simply cannot let that happen..." her told her. He couldn't risk his people, especially not before he got his kingdom back, so he could defend them. If Fatima's father attacked the dragons while the current family was 'in charge' they would certainly let them die...

Fatima sighed at that. "There has to be something we could do... Father needs to know about my desicion and what I've been through, you need to get your kingdom back..."
