"Who Deserves Anything?"

She shifted quietly through the forest, her expression was not troubled, and it held little concern at all. Unlike those in the closest town, who had sent a search party for the girl. Her eyes were sparkling in the dim moonlight, and she brushed a bit of hair behind her ear. This was Christine Morris. ((Click here for appearance)) She came from a rich life style, being the governor's daughter. But it was a life she did not get to chose. Rather, she'd like to be outside. Taking in the beauty of how things, people, creatures, Christine wanted to see all of it that she could. But whenever she got as far as a mile, there would always be those pesky guards finding her and taking her back to her oh so sweet father. Who liked to keep her back within the walls, like some caged bird.

Pushing herself further into the forest, Christine removed her hat and let down her hair, letting it reach the middle of her back. She smiled, letting out a relaxed breath. The forest was so very different from the town. So much more quiet. And instead of lurking behind every other corner a man with a knife, in the forests there were... She stopped mid step, glancing over her shoulder, listening to a low and dark growl. Behind the forests corners, there were creatures, that some could not even consider animals. No, worse then that... The village thought many of them to be monsters, witch's doings. A lump found itself into her throat, glancing from around a tree, seeing a dark figure of matted fur, and too large of a build for a regular dog.

Amelyani 09-04-2009 03:56 AM

Yellow eyes glow in the moonlight, watching her. The beast seemed to have no intention of harming the girl. He only watched her, followed her, as if to protect her. But he should not be her concern as another set of eyes watched her, but saw her as prey. The other creature stalked her, waiting for the right moment to strike.

That moment suddenly comes, the beast however pounces on the girls predetor, ripping and clawing. The two keep at it in the forest. Soon the beast wins, driving the monster off. The beast then looks to the girl. His eyes are almost human. Golden yellow. His fur a tawny colour. He walks up to her, sniffing her hand, coming to her waist.

Unter Dem Eis 09-04-2009 04:34 AM

Christine watched with wide eyes as the two attacked one another. Swallowed and took a few steps back. It was their vicious growls, snarls, that had scared her. She shivered, not finding the view to be exactly all too pleasant so she glanced the other way. Listening as the other one fled, her body lost it's tension and she looked toward the wolf that seemed to have helped her.

Taking a good look at him as he approached, he seemed rather large as well. Too big for an average wolf. His eyes looked too human. He came off as no harm, only coming up to her, sniffing, inspecting the girl. Christine bent slightly, her arms suddenly wrapped around the creature's neck in an embrace. "How could anyone call you a monster?" The governor's daughter understood then, what he was. Looking into his eyes she smiled, and let him go. "Thank you..." She brushed a hand through his tawny fur.

"You aren't hurt, are you?" She asked, glancing about as if she needed to be quick to leave. Watching for someone, anyone. If the guards had found her from their search, but found her with the werewolf that would be dangerous. They would all try to make sure that he would be killed. A soft breath escaped her lips, and her hand slipped away from his ear that she was gently rubbing between her fingers.

Amelyani 09-04-2009 06:39 AM

He jerks away from her touch, just as soon as she move to hug him. He let's out a soft growl, backing away. He's not wanting to hurt her, but it seems he growls in warning. He continues to growl, his nose pointing back to the town.

If she refuses to go back however, his growling ceases and makes a sound similar to a sigh. He walks up to her, behind her, and around her and starts walking before stopping to look behind him at her. He wants her to follow him.

Should she follow him, the beast takes her deeper into the forest before coming to a worn down cabin. There is a large hole in the roof, windows broken in, and the door swung ajar. He takes her inside. The inside looks as if he has lived here for a while. The fireplace was recently used. A pile of cloth and leaves make a bed. A line of recently clean clothes hang over a tub.

Once inside, the beast whines in pain as his body contorts, morph from beast to man. Bones crack and sinew pop. Once the change is complete, a tall and strong, naked man stands in place of the wolf. He stands there with no modesty for a few seconds before taking a top and pair of pants to cover himself with. Once clothed, he turns to the girl. "Why are you in this forest?!"

Unter Dem Eis 09-04-2009 07:34 AM

Watching the wolf encircle her to a different side, Christine arched an eyebrow but followed easily. She didn't wish to return to the town. Nothing was left there for her. She couldn't even try to wear such a smile the forest had brought her, if she was in the town, serving beside her father. Collecting taxes. Contacting near cities. Organizing papers from imported goods. Attending executions? It just wasn't something she found particularly drawing, no matter how easy that life within the richly furnished house was.

Christine's bright expression soon returned. Watching as he led her deep into the dense woods. Looking back, she couldn't see any trace of the town. Her eyes flickered before moving back to the creature. They were nearing a house that had appeared worn, old, perhaps not even belonging to the town. What had happened to it? She looked at the damage brought to it with wonder, yet in spite of its faults, something about it felt nice. To her, difference was a great thing. "Do you live here?" She asked, stepping in after the wolf and glanced about. The makeshift bed and the tub turned into a wash basin had just been further proof.

Glancing back to him, her eyes narrowed with worry as the wolf cried out in pain. Christine's mouth gaped open, listening to the snapping, the cracking, the and the look on his face... She watched it contort and his entire body changed. She looked at the man who stood in place of the wolf and quickly shielded her eyes, looking the other way. Her cheeks felt hot and she was reddening. Entirely naked he stood before her, not seeming to care until several moments later in which he did clothe. Slightly dropping her hand, after peeking to make sure it was safe, Christine let out a breath. "I suppose I deserved that." Referring to his flashing, her embarrassment caused because of it. Since she did not return to her home, she assumed. Christine winced as he shouted, obviously angered by her choice. Feeling a bit defensive, the governor's daughter quickly retorted.

"Excuse me but I was leaving. If you hadn't noticed yet, to the north, east, and west of the town is all parts of this forest! And to the south is high mountains that I couldn't possibly cross in time." She sighed, but didn't give in. "I wasn't planning to stay, and I apologize if I was of inconvenience to you." Christine brushed a hand along her arm uncomfortably, looking the other way. "I wasn't going to stay inside long, I just wanted to leave that blasted city." Her eyes were fierce, although they did not meet his.

Amelyani 09-04-2009 04:52 PM

He had glanced over to her when he saw movement out of the corner of his eye. She had only turned and moved her hands to his eyes. He let's out a small scoff before changing.

After hearing her reply from his scolding word, he replies back. "These woods are dangerous. Demons, witches and the like, all have been pushed out of society and angered. You are not just food for their stomachs, you are food for their hatred!" As he speaks, he walks over to her, towering her. The girl comes only to his midchest. The man, in human form, still has wolf like features. His eyes are still that golden colour, his hair tawny brown, his face is gruff as if he hasn't shaved in a couple of days. He is nothing like the gentlemen in town. He is raw and more feral. He is an animal.

He then turns away to go to the fireplace. He puts a few more logs inside it before scrapping two stones to make a spark. "It much more dangerous at night in the forest. You are safer here for the night. In the morning I will take you back into town."

Unter Dem Eis 09-04-2009 05:40 PM

"Hm hm..." She chuckled, glancing up at the animal like man. She was a bit startled by it, but nevertheless she didn't try to run from him. She had no reason to. Listening to his words was rather like sitting through an interesting history lesson, she found the information though she already knew it, to be quite interesting. Just time away from that town was nice. If she met a witch, she'd ask what spells did they take most interest in. If she met a demon, she would ask how have they been living this past century, mostly unknown to the ignorant complication of humans. Christine then replied, "Well before they eat and suffocate me in their hatred, I could always just explain to them that society really isn't all that great. Sure, it might be where every one else is, and it could have been the origin of their homes... I apologize to everyone out here for that but what is there to do? I'm only the governor's daughter, I don't have very much say in these things. And he is entirely against the idea of opening our doors again." Christine paused, frowning. "What he fails to comprehend, is all that open trade with other societies, some must link through the forests. He is setting the entire town up for an attack from it's surrounding."

She sighed, watching him go to work, trying to start a flame with the logs that he had gathered by sparking together two stones. "It's more dangerous at night? I understand your point but I really must protest." Christine's eyes narrowed, he probably wasn't even listening. "I don't want to go back to that town. Why not take me to the other exiting route of the forest, or let me go alone since I'm such a trouble?" Christine crossed her arms, pouting a bit as she leaned against a wall near to the door. Perhaps if in the middle of the night or before he woke in the morning, she really could find her way out of the forest and to a new town by herself. Yet still, Christine would feel that draw to the mystics of the forest. Even more now, that she had met one of their beasts as so many call it. Yes, when he was asleep she would use that time to leave. Perhaps say hi or good bye another time.

Amelyani 09-04-2009 08:12 PM

"You really want to go outside the forest?" He stares right at her. He then sighs. "Fine. I'll take you out side the forest. But in the morning." He sits down on the bedding.

"My name is Adrian." He doesn't look at her as he says this. If the girl takes time to look around the cabin, she will see on the opposite side of bedding is a broken bed, claw marks riddle the wood that she can see. Beside the broken bed is a homemade cradle. It looks seemingly untouched compared to the bed. Peices of what looks like golden brown animal hair are collected around it on the floor. A golden locket hangs over the frame.

"You should get some sleep. It's a long walk to the edge of the forest." He gestures to the bedding. He stands back up, shifting once again, now into his wolf form. He moves to the door and lies before it, guarding.

Unter Dem Eis 09-04-2009 10:43 PM

Nodding slightly, in regards to him telling her his name. "Christine." She responded, a bit distracted by the scenery. She had been happy with his news, the offer Adrian had given her. "Thank you," she repeated, in case she had forgotten. Her eyes were soft, looking at the bed, the claw markings. Christine's gaze slowly began to focus onto the cradle, having caught the sheen of a hanging locket, shining gold in the dull moon light that flooded in from the hole in the roofing. It was in tact condition, compared to the rest of the house. Surrounded by fur, his fur...? And the locket... Christine nodded again, expression blank in regards to his words. She sat lightly on the bedding, her eyes still locked with the debris of the bed and next to it the cradle. Laying down she looked up at the ceiling again. Had someone busted through the roof, attacked whoever was on the bed, whilst the child remained protected...? Who was the small child? Did the locket belong to Adrian? Squinting her eyes shut, Christine tried to dispel the flood of her questioning thought process. With time, her breathing began to slow and her body lost its tension, the girl had fallen asleep.

Hardly making a sound, the naga slithered through the forest. Half man, half serpent. A distinct smell of a human had caught his keen sense's grasp, and he could pay no attention to little but that. Hissing quietly, his long tail pulling along behind the naga, Cylferth moved up against the tree Christine had pressed against. Looking down, a snare of cloth was ripped against the tree and dangled there. He pinched it between his fingers, holding the cloth near his nose. This girl was no witch, no demon, finally a human had played into his hands, dancing along in the forest. His lips twitched into a form of a smirk, as he glanced at the dirt below. Pinches of wolf fur about him. Distinct fur... the woman was residing with Adrian, at least for the time being that is.

In the middle of the night, Christine began to shudder. A shiver ran through her body, and she curled over slightly, teeth chattering in her sleep. A cold breeze ran through the worn house, chilling the human who had little more then silk to warm her. The fire had long been blown out because of it.

Amelyani 09-04-2009 11:50 PM

His ears twitch a bit at the sound of her teeth chattering, the light increase of her heartbeat to stay warm. He stands up and pads over to her, watching her for a second before looking around. He frowns internally before lying down next to her body. He would allow her to grab ahold of him to keep warm, but he stays in wolf form. His senses are better. He'll be able to detect an intruder sooner.

His eyes start to close as he begins to drift. The girl's warmth and comfort causing him to become content and drowsy. It's been years since he felt another body beside him. Years since anyone made him feel calm. Made him feel human.

He blinks his eyes open, angry at himself for letting himself drift like that. He needs to sleep with alert, not fall into a deep coma. He lifts his head and looks down at the girl. Why did thinks get difficult. She should have stayed in the town like everyone else. Fear the forest, not walk in it with awe. He murrs softly in irritation.

Unter Dem Eis 09-05-2009 01:50 AM

A smile crept onto her lips and Christine began to warm, her body unconsciously shifted toward him. Unaware of his thoughts. Her expression faded, becoming entirely relaxed. Hours began to pass till Christine started to stir yet again and there was no sign of Cylferth. However, he came to the girl in her dreams. A frown forced its way onto Christine's lips and she shivered, but not from the cold. In her vision, blood was soaked through everything. She looked around the darkness uncomfortably. Hearing growling, and snarling. Christine turned, watching as the scene of Adrian and the second wolf fighting. But this time she couldn't move, she couldn't look away.

Christine trembled in her sleep, the hairs on the back of her neck standing on end. Her hands slowly clenching and letting go. Because she was within the forest, Cylferth had a hold on her mind. In the nightmare, Christine was frozen in place, blood slowly creeping up her legs from the ground. It was cold and it began to harden, acting as chains. Christine opened her mouth to say something, but the words were caught in her throat. The second creature lay slaughtered by Adrian and her apparent friend slowly turned at her, those yellow eyes still held human recognition, but hatred. He lunged at her but two cold arms slid around her waist, yanking her back. Christine looked up slowly, barely able to move. A serpent with pure white hair, pale skin and lips, held onto her. His dark tail slithered around her body, crushing her and his tail ran through Adrian like a blade. Christine began to become smothered in darkness while wrestling against it and finally cried out.

Slowly and assuredly, the sun began to rise into the sky, replacing the moon. With it, the spell holding her inside of a nightmare shattered and Christine sat up all too quickly, gasping from horror. The sun flashed in through the roof and Christine realized where she was. Her breathing slowed and her heart rate returned to normal. Slowly she glanced back at Adrian, and the girl's expression looked almost thankful. Happy to see that he was alive.

Amelyani 09-05-2009 02:59 AM

When she wakes up, Adrian is cooking some rabbit in the firplace. He looks over to her. "Don't pay attention to your dreams when in the forest." He pulls a stick holding some rabbit meat. "I don't have dishware....or atleast clean ones." He hands it to her. "After we eat, we move." He takes his stick and opens his mouth, teeth ripping through the cooked muscle. If she looks up, she will see that his canines are slightly sharper and longer. His portion must not be cooked all the way, because when he takes a bite, red juices spill out the corners of his mouth.

Once done eating, he wipes the juces from his face and stands. He walks to the crib, grabbing the locket and putting it on. He then walks to her. "Ready?"

Unter Dem Eis 09-05-2009 08:55 AM

((Sorry my replies earlier were slow, I was in the middle of some work.))

Christine wiped the perspiration from the back of her neck, nodding slightly to his words. She leaned against a wall as he continued to cook, the smell filling the air. Watching a bird fly by over the large gaping hole. A smile came back to her lips and Christine looked over as some rabbit on a stick was moved in front of her face. "Thanks." She took a bite of the meat, chewing it slower then Adrian did. Watching him eat was almost fun. She tried to hold back a chuckle as the red juice, what was left of the blood dribbles down his cheek. True by nature, he was definitely not like the men she knew back in the town. Finishing, she watched with soft curious eyes as he slipped on the locket. Watching it shine in the light, Christine had to pull her eyes away from the necklace as not to seem rude.

Getting up, Christine smiled. "Yes, you don't plan on taking me back to the small city do you?" Walking out the door, Christine paused. She took a look around, it felt like someone was there. But she saw no one, heard nothing. It was probably that dream from last night. Itching away at her. She recalled Adrian's words and quickly pushed away her worried thoughts. Taking in the beauty of the forest instead. Soon though, she would have to leave it and live in another place. Another city. That was the only way she could convince Adrian to possibly help her. No matter, she would be drawn back to this forest, even if by strictly will. Did it matter that the dreams she had would always reoccur? No... At least she didn't think so.

So many things she wished to ask Adrian, so many things they could talk about... But she wondered if that would be rude of her? As if she was intruding? Already she seemed to have been a burden to him. Christine brushed her hand against her arm, recalling how cold she had been that night. She felt it deep in her sleep, and it nearly awoke her. Had something not warm her, that is. She glanced at him, wondering if he had kept her warm in the night? Christine had a good look around, and there did not seem to be a blanket anywhere near her even when she awoke. No wonder she had felt so secure, that is until she had that dream. If the man had turned wolf during this time, the girl would have lightly scowled and mutter something like, "So this means you don't wish to talk?"

Amelyani 09-05-2009 09:20 AM

He did notice her eyes staring at the locket, but did not show any sign that he saw. He only tucked the locket under his thin shirt before grabbing a harness to clasp around his leg. In the sheath was a hunting knife that he took out to inspect before putting it back in. He was ready to leave his home to help this girl through the forest. He didn't know why he should. He never cared for any human before, but when he saw her, she mesmerized him. He felt compelled to protect her. Like it was his calling. His duty in life.

He clears his throat, breaking himself from his train of thought. He then leads the girl out into the forest, making sure she was at least in his peripheral vision. "I plan on taking you back to safety. But no, not to the town you came from." He sighs. "Though I'm sure your parents miss you. Worried about you." He almost sounds like he speaks with experience. He shakes his head, continuing on.

Adrian glance at Christine, sensing her thoughts. Fortunately for her, he does not shift into his wolf form. At least completely. His eyes seem to reflect light like an animal, and his teeth are unusually sharp. He chuckles, his canines showing. "You know, I won't bite if you ask question. I can't guarantee I'll answer them, but there is no harm in being curious. Though I do advise against being too curious." He chuckles again, messing with the girl.

Unter Dem Eis 09-05-2009 09:40 AM

Pondering that, Christine's eyes shifted toward the ground. His mention of her parents missing their daughter. Surely, her father's work would be more then enough to distract him from worrying, and her mother... Would they even notice her disappearance? Now that she thought about it... Christine bit into her lip and was startled having pierced the soft skin, the smell of blood filling the air. Instead of bothering with the small wound, Christine wondered about how Adrian had said things, not what he had said. Like he somehow knew. Images of that house filled her mind, the cradle, the bed that had been torn to shreds...

His words brought her from deep thought and his chuckle made her smile. His words amusing. "Heh, how did you know?" She asked, walking over a little closer to him. Her lip stung, but she ignored it mostly, wiping away at a little blood. The smell was filling her nose and it was overpowering. "If that's the case, I guess I should start small and work my way up." Christine giggled lightly. "So that was your actual house? Who all do you live with?" In the back of her mind, the girl wondered if he had someone who he loved, someone he had a child with. But if that was so, where were they?

Amelyani 09-05-2009 10:04 AM

He glances at her again as she bit her lip. The smell of her blood fill his nostrils. He closes his eyes a bit, storing the scent of her blood for later use. When he opens them, he sees her wipe the blood away and there was a smile on her face.

Oh how does that smile stir something in him that he had not felt since he was human. He subtly takes in a deep breath to control himself. It makes him want to grab her and run away with her back to the cabin. To where he deems safe. But she can't stay with him. He knows the forest, and knows there are some dangers here that he cannot protect her from.

His fists open and close before blinking as her questions bring him back to reality. His eyes widen at realization at what her question is. "Yes. That is my home. And I live alone." That second question is coming way to close to the what he fears she will ask. He knew she is curious of the locket. He curses himself for telling her it's okay to ask questions. Maybe he is just happy to hear a human's voice for a change. The sound makes him remember the days when he was human. The days he wish he could go back to. Or maybe her voice is just that comforting to him. She knows what he is, yet she does not flee. She speaks to him, as if he is........human.

Unter Dem Eis 09-05-2009 10:19 AM

Probably to the man wolf's surprise, Christine did not ask the question he so feared. That question did bite at her, but she wasn't even sure if to ask if he lived alone. "You don't get lonely there? By yourself?" The girl asked, brushing a bit of hair from in front of her eye. What she asked was so far from what he had thought. "It seems so empty there, nice but in a way, almost sad." She looked directly in his eyes, looking at him respectively. Something the civilized from her town would never do. They'd sooner try and kill Adrian, and everything in the forest. But she looked him in the eyes as they spoke, not minding that trace of animal that lingered.

But the serious air that may have stung from her last words was easily brushed away, as another careless smile formed onto her lips and Christine shrugged. Her expression was almost playful. "But you know, I'll probably be coming back to see you soon. You and I both know that I wouldn't stick to some city Adrian, you've seen how much I like it here, and I'm not the calm, stay where I'm supposed to type."

Amelyani 09-05-2009 11:02 AM

He flinches. Yes, he feels so alone in that cabin. So lonely. "Not particularly....." when he glances over to her, his eyes meet hers. He quickly averts his gaze away. Damn that was close. His eyes are showing emotion, he knows that. He can't have Christine see what he is feeling. The need to be close to someone. Close to her.

He then grnts at her next words. "I know. That is what worries me." Especially if she came back on one of the nights of the full moon. The nights had no control over himself.

((night))

Unter Dem Eis 09-05-2009 05:49 PM

She was a bit curious as to why he kept looking away but didn't really question him about it. Walking a few paces behind him, off to the left she was taking admiring glances around the forest. Seeing movement in her far side vision, Christine looked over through the trees, pausing in her footsteps for a moment. A centaur child was running through an opening in the trees, chasing simple butterflies in the distance. Her eyes filled with awe and she looked back at Adrian. "It's amazing, this place. How long have you lived here?"

Christine blinked innocently as he grunted something she didn't entirely hear. She caught the words, worries and I know. "You're worried about me returning?" She giggled lightly, looking around. "Gee, I didn't know I was that annoying." Christine winked, only playing back with the man. The forest was indeed dense, very deep, and she for one liked that. More time to talk with Adrian. She still felt drawn to him, and if she could help it, Christine would just not leave. Who in their right mind from her town would go searching that far? Without just skipping to the next town over from assumption. She let out a quiet groan. Perhaps it wasn't a good idea to go to the next town. Maybe she'd live in a meadow or something. Hide in a stack of hay or whatnot... Or better, follow Adrian back to his cabin.

Amelyani 09-05-2009 06:38 PM

He doesn't see her in his sight so he slows to keep her in his vision. He too sees the movement and his muscles tense as his head darts in the that direction, relaxes when seeing a centaur child. He glances at her when she speaks again. "Grew up in the forest."

He runs his fingers through his mane of hair, pushing back some of the tangled and dirty locks from his face. "Not annoyed." He senses her thoughts. That annoyed him. "I you are thinking what I think you are thinking, forget it. I'll know if you are following me...." He growls a bit. Not to scare her, but to warn her.

Unter Dem Eis 09-05-2009 08:49 PM

Christine could not help but reveal another smile as he growled lowly. He was like a stubborn child, at the same time an over protective puppy. "Hm hm," she began, "You probably would know, somehow. I don't know why though. All right, I won't follow you back tonight, how is that?" She caught up with Adrian. "In fact, I won't have to follow you at all. Two steps into the forest and there you might be." The fact of being able to see him again so easily was nice, and she hoped that if she did try to enter the forest again that he would be right there to scold her against it. Christine felt like she wanted to see him again. It would be a bore to be greeted and spoken with by the gentlemen of other cities. Christine would not feel a strong difference between there and the place she had once thought was her home. That town.

Amelyani 09-05-2009 10:31 PM

"You have a peciliar scent. Even for a human." He pauses, closing his to take in the air's scent. Something was different. They were being followed. How could he not sense it before? The girl. He was so caught up in her, he left his alerts and defenses down. Dammit.

He reaches out a hand to grab her and keeps her close, his nose rising to sniff the air. "Stay right here." He orders, expecting her to obey. He sniffs out the area, circling her, but not move more than two paces from her. He growls. He knows somthing is there. And not just one, but atlwast half a dozen. He keeps his hand on her should, his grip tightening around the bone.

Unter Dem Eis 09-05-2009 11:07 PM

A confused look tore at her expression. "A peculiar smell...?" Christine repeated, looking herself over. "I don't think I smell funny." Her reply almost sounded sheepish. Wondering what she smelled like to him. Looking back at Adrian, she noticed his own face began to change. His expression looked to be almost foul. Something upset him, but what? Something he caught scent of in the air, what did he sense? He did not react this way to the centaur.

Christine allowed herself to be easily pulled over, not choosing to fuss. How close she was held was a bit shocking, but she remained quiet as she gazed up at Adrian. As he went to smell the air again. To her, it smelled like trees, pine. Wondering what vivid senses he had, she curiously wondered how a demon, a human, anything would smell. Especially a flower. Was it overpowering, or did it have the same smell it did for humans? Christine appreciated the small things that no one had ever intended to notice.

As he ordered her to stay, Christine curtly replied in agreement, sensing the serious tone carried in his voice. It did not scare her, nor did the situation, but Christine did not want him angry. She didn't want to see him hurt, so she would not be a bother to him. Remaining still, she watched as he began to circle her. The patterns he chose reminded that of a vulture, and she did her best to hold back a chuckle and only smiled. Watching as he gripped onto her shoulder, feeling his hand tighten. "What is it?" Christine finally asked, looking up.

Amelyani 09-06-2009 03:19 AM

"Witches." He growls.

Just then, a man who looks ageless. His ice blye eyes peered at them with a peircing gaze, his blak hair hung lifelessly down to his hips. He held a staff in his left hand. Following him were other, men and women, with the same eyes and gaze. Some held bows, arrows pointing at them. "Lychen. Gives us the girl. And we will bring no harm to you."

"No chance in hell Darien. I know what you plan, and I will not have her involved in your scheems to take you land back. She has nothing to do with it." He pulls the girl close to him, his nails extending as claws, his canines elongated.

"She has everything to do with it! She is the governor's daughter!" His voice is soft, but his tone is fierce.

"So you plan to use her as ransom?! How petty for a Witch! How desperate that idea is! She is a good and kind human! She sees us as equals and if you take her now, you will ruin that image she has for nonhumans! She will fear and hate you like the rest of them do!"

Unter Dem Eis 09-06-2009 04:22 AM

"Witches?" She repeated, looking over as one suddenly came into sight. Looking at the man, Christine was yet again in awe. Yet another being of the forest. She almost felt lucky to have been coming across so many. Her expression hardly changed as arrows pointed at the pair, just ready to rupture their bodies and run through their hearts and beings. Her eyes were soft, looking over the witches. Their stare was interesting in it's own, all of them having that same strange cold gaze that felt as sharp as the arrows they wielded. Even the same color. Christine's eyes remained kind, her expression filled with only slight concern.

She was drawn closer to Adrian's side, watching as his claws grew, being careful as not to shift too much or he might accidentally cut her arms. Christine felt comfortable this close to him, no matter what Adrian was. And Christine so far held no spite toward the witches for their behavior against her. She merely smiled, looking at their leader with curious eyes. Her vision soon averted, up to Adrian. His words surprised her. What kind words he spoke, supporting her. That she was good and kind. Christine drew closer against him, a smile forming back onto her lips and she looked back at the leading witch. Her eyes held no demeaning, Adrian's words seemed true.
