The world of Azeroth is a dangerous place. The outland even more so.
The great and terrible Illidian rules with an iron fist, his reach reaches far and wide. The people of Shatterath city have called on two heroes to dispatch this menace at his home in the Black Temple.

Their journey begins in Shatterath City just after they are asked to take up this task.

Enzeru stood before the shining being. She had just been asked to do what would certainly be suicide. How was she supposed to raid Illidian's home and kill him? The place was sure to be guarded by the most fearsome of creatures.

She sighed and thought a moment. Maybe someone cold help her but who else would be foolhardy enough to attempt such a risky quest?

The young drenei ran her fingers through her hair and tapped her hammer. She had to give them an answer quickly. The being before her was waiting for an answer. It was frightfully rude for a drenei to linger when a naru asked them to do something for them.

What am I supposed to do? We own the naru our lives and now here I am being asked to give them what they are owed and I am scared to death.

After a few deep breaths the paladin looked up at the naru and smiled, "It will be an honor to serve you my lord."

Death hung in the air here. He could smell it, the acrid sickly smell burning his muzzle as he prowled along the blasted corrupted lands on Shadowmoon Valley. The great cat's ears flicked, golden gaze scanning the landscape before him as he paused to orient himself to his surroundings. To the unobservant eye, the oddly greenish-hued cat was simply one of the few surviving pieces of wildlife in the valley, on the prowl for food or keeping a wary eye out for danger.

But there had never been such creatures in Shadowmoon Valley.

This being was no cat. It's softly glowing golden eyes were too alert, too intelligent to compare with those few natural beings still clinging to life in this blasted remnant of the Outlands. And the leather cords that decorated the best... Night Elven in their pattern. This was no wild cat. This was a druid, alone and far away from those few outposts his allies had managed to eke out upon the crumbling planet.

With a low growl, the cat's form seemed to flash in a glimmering of smoke and soft green light, leaving the creature's true form for all to see. He was a Night elf male, and a young one at that. Of course, determining age amongst Night Elves was never the easiest of tasks. he was clad in rough leathers- sturdy and serviceable, but rather plain and uninteresting to look at due to their lack of mystical charms and designs that so many seemed to favor. Dark green hair, more vibrant than the pelt of his feline form, hung loosely over his shoulders and down his back.

He was on a suicide run. He knew it. Kill Illidan? Madness. And to do it alone...! How could he? Twice the druid had attempted to slip past the temple's defenses, and twice he had been forced to flee for his life. But that seemed to not deter the young druid's ambitions in the least. He was doing to kill the betrayer. He had sworn it. But.. how?

"Hm..." This was going to be tricky indeed.

Enzeru hung her head as she walked the bridge to the exit of Shatterath city, her white hair hanging down in her face as her back curved horns pointed almost skyward. Maybe there would be someone else seeking help, maybe they would team up, but as likely as that was it was foolish to even get her hopes up. After all, everyone who opposed the dreaded demon king died.

She approached the stable master who kept her steed. "I'm ready to get my horse back."

"But you are a drenei, why would you have a horse?"
The man growled, his hand bleeding.

Enzeru said nothing. She grabbed his hand and whispered something quickly. When she removed her hand from his it was healed.

"Oh, I see, excuse me lady paladin." He hurried off to fetch her reigns.

"Thank you," Enzeru said upon the man's return.

"Light's speed to where ever you are going."

"Naru bless you, but I plan to take my time."

She mounted her steed and spurred it on. This was it, the last stretch before the dreaded encounter with the worst fiends she would ever see. The crown domain of Illidian was before her.

The sound of hoof beats caught Lunir's sensitive ears. Hm? No one ever came out this way. Not on horse, at least. Frowning at this new development, the night elf's golden gaze turned towards the blasted and barely usable road. This was new.

his eyebrows raised in surprise once the mounted figure came into view. Though Lunir had only recently been allowed to venture beyond the sacred groves from whence he grew up, he had been here in the Outlands long enough to recognize a draenei... and a paladin at that.

Curious. What was she doing out here, all alone? Surely she wasn't about to go running in the temple alone, either. There was nothing else out this way as far as he was aware. Some blasted ruins, maybe. And the Dragonmaw orcs... but the pat to them was far from here. Interesting. What would a Draenei want with the temple? He knew little of the place, admittedly. All he was aware of was the fact that Illidan lay within, surrounded by more minions than a single druid could take on.

Regardless, the druid slid down the dusty hill closer to the roadside, where he would be more easily capable of flagging down the passing paladin. At the very least he'd be able to garner some news, which was rather scarce out in these parts. "Ishnu-alah," he greeted in a soft voice, slightly raspy from disuse. "It's not often I see a friendly face out here..."

Enzeru halter her steed at the sight of a figure. She heard what she had to say and smiled, "Good day stranger," she began, in no real hurry to rush to her death, "I wouldn't doubt the lack of friendly faces in these parts, yours is the only one I've seen since I arrived in this kingdom."

Out of respect she slid down off her steed and bowed her head lightly, "I am Enzeru, paladin of the Naru and helping hand to those in need." She looked around, "Is there a good place to make camp around here? I'd like to be fully rested before I continue on my journey."

She made it a point not to mention where she was going, fearing the druid would just laugh at her. After all, most people who claimed to be off to fight Illidian were proclaimed crazy and sent to a temple for healing.

Lunir nodded his head in reply to the paladin's introduction. "An honor. I am Lunir Duskweaver of the Cenarion Expedition." If he had any introduction or greeting to make beyond that, he withheld it for the time being. Considering the organization he worked under had a decent presence here int he Outlands, he assumed it would be enough to let the female piece it together herself.

The request for a camp intrigued him. Those few he saw passing through these areas rarely stayed, and even then they stuck to more... hospitable locations. Interesting. "There are few enough places around here," he replied, casually toying with a long strand of hair and trying not to look to interested in the matter. "But I do have some old ruins cleared out for the time being. There is more than enough space to pitch camp there while the peace maintains, at least." Unless one had a sizable patrol force to keep watch and the area maintained, the damnable demons and whatnot were always quick to reassert their territory. Thankfully, they had generally left Lunir's latest encampment unmolested so far. It was doubtful it would last for long.

A wave of his violet-tinted arm indicated that the druid would be more than happy to lead her to the spot he had mentioned. "If you would like, it's not far." A pause as he half turned to show her the way. "Though if it is not too rude of me, I am curious as to why you're out here. Are the Alliance moving in to claim the place?"

Enzeru shook her blue head, her straight white hair moving with it. "The alliance have no claim here. They do however want the same thing most sensible people want, the demons gone."

She followed the druid, leading her steed. "I am here on a much more frightful quest, one that is most certain to fail." The paladin looked around, "It is not safe to discuss it here, perhaps when we make camp."

The drenei knew of the company she kept. The expedition had been nothing but helpful since her journey began. She felt this was no different.

So she was on a quest? Lunir was interested to hear what sort of a quest she was on. It certainly had to be an important one, considering how she was all the way out here. Alone, though... No great undertaking meant sending one person out alone, did it? A big party could attract too much attention, he surmised. Especially... instinctively, the druid's gaze drifted towards the Balck Temple, looming tauntingly over the desolate landscape. Especially under Illidan's nose, yes.

The druid had not lied- his camp was not far away at all. Nestled in the shattered remnants of what was once a Draenei temple (or city? He could not tell), the shattered walls of the building nonetheless provided the duo with some degree of cover from the landscape's less than friendly denizens.

"Here we are," he announced, almost cheerfully. The so-called camp of his was a scarce one- a single bedroll lay in a corner, near several small, but decently-full bags. A lone fire pit lay near the bedroll, the ashen remnants of last night's fire still contained within. It was one of those hasty,t emporary affairs- able to be broken down in almost as much time as it took to set up. Permanence did not have as much value as mobility here.

Salvaging a few burnt logs from the pit and adding a fresh one for god measure, the druid went about cheering up the camp with a practiced ease. The bags, it turned out, were filled with preserved food, which were soon cooking over a small but comfortable fire.

"Sit," he offered, waving a hand at the shattered tile and dirt ground. "And tell me of this quest of yours. We're safe enough here."
