Time: Medieval
Place: The castle, the dungeon/prison

Name: Lillian
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Appearance: Green eyes. Dark red shoulder length hair. Sometimes ties it up with a strap. Pale skin and rather skinny from being locked in the prison for so long. About 5'3. Small chested.
Clothes: Basic light neutral colored commoner clothes. Wears loose clothing as easier to run or work with. Also wears pants not skirt. She is sometimes mistaken for a boy because of this.
Bio: Accidentally sold some stolen jewelry to an honest market man who became instantly suspicious. Was caught and placed into prison. Has been there for a few days now and is wondering what will become of here.

Name: Jonathan
gender: male
age: 20
Appearance: ice-blue eyes and dark brown hair that's almost black. His bangs are usually swept to the left and barely cover his eyebrow. He wears nice clothes in blues and such rich colors. But he'd love to change into his simple clothes and go ridding!
Bio: He's the younger son of the king so he's prince, but since he's not first in line for the throne he has more freedom. Not that he's not perfectly ready to take the throne if his only older brother should die.

((well I'll start then))

Lillian looked up at the stone ceiling. "Another day, I suppose." She didn't know how long she had been there. Days or weeks. She only knew the time by the food she was given. Her hands were chained to the wall. Not long but not too short that she couldn't pace around the room. She heard someone walking down the corridor. "Time for food I suppose," she muttered as a plate was pushed through the small opening at the bottom of the doorway.

It was the same thing she was given twice a day. A small hard loaf of bread, a bit of questionable soup, and a cup of dirty water. Lillian guessed the water came from the moat that surrounded the castle. She stood up from her mattress of hay and went to eat the food. She sat down by the food and placed herself so she was looking at the small window. "I wonder when I'll get out of here," she said out loud. Lillian could have cared less at that statement. Everyone knew the only way to get out of prison was death Whether it was in the prison or a sentence.

She ate her food in peace, not bothering to drink much of the water. When done she pushed the dishes outside through the opening. She went back to her bed and though about how she could get out of the place. The cuffs were easy as her wrists were now small enough to slip through at a slight twist. She didn't bother though as the cuffs chafed her when taken on and off. "Maybe a prince will come to save me," she joked.

Jonathan walked down the stairs to the dungeon behind his older brother Gareth. "Are you sure this is what father meant?" he asked as they walked. Gareth just gave his younger brother a look over his should and that shut Jonathan up, for a while at least.
"Well, I'll let you deal with the important stuff Gareth. I'm going to go talk to the prisoner."

Jonathan made his way down the hall until he came to the far end and leaned against the wall casually. He looked in at Lillian. "Hey there, little thief."

Lillian looked at the origin of the voice. A man with dark hair and wearing fancy clothing was standing at her door. "Speak of the devil," she muttered. She got up and looked at the boy. "What do you want?" she asked somewhat angry.

"Friendly aren't you..." Jonathan said with a sigh. "Well no, I guess I shouldn't expect much else. Actually, I'm hear because the king has a job for a good thief like you. You can take it and get out of here, or of course...rot."

Lillian was surprised at the boy. A job, from the king? "Well," she though, "Maybe a prince has come to save me."
She sighed, "Of course I'd like to get out. But what's the job?"

Jonathan came closer, an interesting grin on his face. "The king is looking for somthing of value and his own loyal knights could not help. A legendary object of power and it seems the talents of a thief are for more useful.

Lillian was rather intrigued at this. "Something the kings men can't get?" She stepped forward as far as her chains would let. "I get this object for your king and get set free as a payment? What is the item?" She loved legends and has been told quite a few. It was possibly one she knew, but then again it could be something unknown to her.

"Uh..." Jonathan gave her a blank look then shrugged. "I may have forgotten exactly what the object was called..." he said sheepishly. Obviously he hadn't been all that interested in legends until now. Actually, he thought the King was slightly crazy for beleiving the stuff and spending all this effort seeking for this mystical power. "I just know its a jewel that was said to have been cut in heaven and will give the wearer untold powers."

"Huh, haven't heard of that one," Lillian said. "So when do I start?" She was intrigued by this tale, although the boy had given her nothing to work with as a story goes. And she was glad of the prospect of getting out of jail.

Jonathan pulled a ring of keys from his pocket and twirled them around his finger. "Now if you like," he said, leaning over to unlock the door. He opened it wide. "But you have to swear a bit of obedience and such. You got to behave if I let you out of those chains okay."

An obedience factor. Lillian glared at the thought "Only as much as you deserve," She looked at the keys longingly. "I am the one who's doing the stealing," she smiled.

Jonathan sighed and released her from the chains. "I suppose I can settle for that," he said. "Other people might not have, but so long as you don't attack me or make a run for it, I seriously don't care." He walked back out of her cell and looked back at it disgusted. "My brother has gotten things prepared already so let's get you out of this dungeon."

Lillian rubbed her wrists. They were somewhat red from the chafing but she'd be fine in a day or two. "I'm betting it's a long way from here," she said as she followed him cautiously out of the cell. "At least I'm not going there in chains."

Jonathan looked back at her. "I doubt you would be much use in chains." He led the way out of the dungeon and down a hallway out into the sunlight. He gazed out at the courtyard, such a lovely place compared to the lower depths of the castle. "We'll get us some horses and start out ridding east," he said. "Since the legends seem to have originated in that area."

Lillian shielded her eyes from the light. Being used to the dark had it's cons. She stopped for a bit, waiting until her vision cleared so she wouldn't trip over anything. "So you have no idea where the object even is?" she was rather shocked. Most people planned ahead before going on some whimsical quest. She wondered what the king might be thinking sending a thief for such a job.

"Hey, I have a map!" Jonathan said, annoyed. He pulled the map out and waved it at her. "Unfortuanatly the legends are conflicted. This jewel is either high in the mountains or some say it was taken and hidden in the forest surrouding the mountains to the east."

Lillian giggled at this man's antics, "You don't have to get defensive." She looked at the courtyard. A beautiful place indeed with it's green grass and colorful flowers. To Lillian it looked like a paradise compared to her stay in the dungeon. "So I guess we look at the forest first?" She wasn't all that excited about horseback-riding as she wasn't what you would call an expert. Thieves didn't like things that made noise. To hard to steal or sell for that matter. At least gold was small enough to fit in one's pocket.

"Yes, I suppose so," Jonathan said. Just then three soldiers rode up leading horses.

"Prince Gareth wishes you luck." one of the soldiers said.

Jonathan nodded and said, "Alright, just hand over those two horses and we will be on our way."

The soldier looked down at him. "You brother and the King also say we are to accompany you."

"What?!" Jonathan exclaimed. "You're going to tell me I still can't escape you idiot royal guards?"

"You believe you're capable of traveling by yourself?" Lillian was puzzled by the man's statement. Not expecting an answer, she looked at the horses and saw two lovely brown ones for her and the prince. She walked over to the horse with a white muzzle. "This one looks reliable," she though. The girl approached the horse cautiously not wanting to be stepped on. Two horses were fine. But five? "I might need some help getting on this thing." she shyly stated as the prince finished his small rant.

((I'm going off now but looks like the RP's doing well.))

"It would be nice to not be constantly protected..." Jonathan muttered under his breath. He then looked at Lillian awkwardly. "Have you ever riden before," he asked.

((yes, it does seem to be doing well. Since its 3 I think I will go to sleep...))

Lillian looked at Jonathan, "Well not exactly. I know how to ride them, I'm just not used to them. The make too much noise for my liking," She looked back at the animal, "Besides I'm rather small," she slightly grimaced, "A little boost is all I'd need. For now." All Lillian needed was a little practice and she'd be able to mount a horse by herself in no time. She was rather proud of her learning skills, but she didn't exactly hesitate when needing help.

Jonathan just looked at Lillian. "I'm a prince! You don't really expect me to help you mount your horse do you?" he said, looking at one of his soldiers to help Lillian. They just smirked at him. "Oh, alright..." he grumbled and moved to help her up, muttering under his breath the whole time.

"Why thank you," Lillian said as she got up on the horse. She was tempted to flick the reigns and make a run for it but thought otherwise. The adventure might be worthwhile she figured. That and it was somewhat frightening being so high on top of something that moved. "Well, lead the way," she quietly said not wanting this prince to be completely mad at her. Otherwise it would be a long trip ahead of them.
