This is the first night on the job, i'm working the night shift for the local police station, i love it, right next to a red cross. she thought to herself looking down at the laptop stationed on the desk in front of her, she was in a cubicle, though it was a boring job, it was calm. She winced and stood to her feet, pushing her way to the bathroom, though, she walked into the men's room filing down her fangs, careful to keep a human appearance.

we're getting a new kid tonite she again thought to herself, wondering what he would be like, or, she.

Kane had just moved into the new town and already had a job at the police station. He loved working for law enforcement, before he joined the police force he was a security guard. Unfortunately, a security guard wasn't an exciting job, and he like excitement.

Kane was driving around and looking from the street to a map constantly trying to find out if he was going the right way. He drove a Mitsubishi Eclipse, not something most cops drive, and had worked like hell to buy it. He would be given his gear and uniform at the station, or so he was told. After a while he finally found the station and nice parking spot near the front.

As he walked in, he noticed that not that many people took night shifts here. There were so little people that he could count them all on just two hands. He stood there for a few minutes looking around the place, associating himself with where he'd be working from now on.

Jean exited the bathroom and, tucked her file into her back pocket walking over to the new comer "Welcome" she grunted pushing her two-toned hair out of her face, usually cops were never allowed to have something out of regulation but, she was obviously more valuable then the others. When she approached him, he would immediately tell that she wasnt human "can i help you?"

while she looked at him, she was forced to look up at him, she was only a height of 5 feet even, what looked to be bottomless dark brown eyes, slender facial features and, age old wisdom. All the while she kept a hand on her file "why're you here?" she was slightly more demanding, there had been certain things happening during her shift that, she wasnt totally prepared for, one of them being the kidnap and murder of her partner.

Kane looked down at the lady who had greeted him. He noticed that something was off about her, like she wasn't normal, but he shrugged it of. Probably just my imagination. He looked around the room once more then back down to the lady,"I'm here to replace a," He averted his gaze when he tried to remember the deceased officers' name,"Oh, right, a Jack Scott."

He kept his arms crossed behind his back, he hoped she wasn't someone who had gotten attached the man. If she was, he knew his time here would be hell.

her entire body suddenly tensed, her contacts denigrated leaving just her glowing red yes, she snarled "no you're not" she walked away from him, unable to let him see her for who she was, not just yet. so, when she walked away from him, she pulled out her extra contacts slipping them in "Follow me. I'll get you your uniform" it was clear she didnt like him nor did she want to, her and jack had gotten close, they'd even fallen in love to an extent, dating and such.. he accepted her for the monster she is.

Oh great, she had gotten close to him... damn. Kane cursed himself for being so stupid. He quickly caught up her and followed her. He walked beside her, to her right, and looked back down at her,"So... was he a close friend?" Kane asked curiously and sincerely, he really did want to know a little about the guy who's position he'd been given.

"you can say that" she snarled looking up at him, her extra pair of contact lenses melting on her eye, she blinked and looked away, rubbing at them hoping to shake the paste from it, when she did, she screamed "damn it!" she wasnt happy, not at all "Dont ask" she finally snorted "how were you even given this position anyhow?" she caught the scent of his fresh blood, her fangs grew and mouth watered.

Kane sighed, he knew he wasn't getting any where with the lady. He looked straight ahead,"I was given the job, because I asked for it." That wasn't entirely true, but for the most part it was. He had asked for the job, yes, but the only reason they gave it to him, was because he could handle himself unlike the other security guards he worked with. They were all out of shape and didn't even want to be at work.

"so you just walked right on up to one of the higher ups and said 'give me the job?'" she rolled her eyes and looked over at him, directly into his, bright red eyes locking on his "how is that fair?" while she spoke, he would see her fangs, would he figure her out so soon? Perhaps not, she let out a small sigh after inhaling deeply, his scent was absolutely intoxicating.

Kane saw the fangs, but once again shrugged it off as his imagination. He stared into her bright red eyes,"They gave me the job, because I was better than everyone else." He stated flatly. He looked back up and around,"So... when do I get my stuff?" He was becoming very impatient with the lady. He was most likely going to ask the sheriff about her when he saw the sheriff next.

they turned the corner into the storage room, eyes closed she pointed to the extra uniforms, one had kane's name written on it "Ask the sheriff about me and you'll most likely loose your job" she grinned, she was hired by the sheriff as a peace treaty between human and vampire, this peace however would be disrupted "they dont take kindly to people asking about me" while she spoke, she grinned, laughing stupidly at her own comment

Kane was dumbfounded by what she said,Wow... She's good. He shook his head and walked over to his uniform, he started to take his shirt off and then turned back to the lady,"Do you mind?" If he couldn't get to know her, then he may as well have a little fun with her.

"nope i dont" she grinned, leaning against the frame of the doorway and, watched. There was nothing better to do then to watch a cute boy get undressed, well, those were her thoughts "yes i know i'm good" she let out a small laugh, showing off her fangs slightly more. While she laughed her lips curled into a grimace, it was hard for her to smile after Jack's murder, even though he had been turned, she was forced to kill him since he'd gone insane.

"NO! Dont!" he cried while looking up at his lover, she held a blade to his neck, it looked to be a pocket knife, she sweetly kissed his lips when the tears came, she sliced his head clean from his shoulders, dropping it in it's own puddled blood, she shook her head from side to side, staring down at his lifeless corpse, eyes frozen wide open, jaw slacked revealing fangs, it was something she would never be able to rid herself of

Kane sighed and continued to take off his shirt. He stripped down to his boxers, then started to put on the police uniform. It was as uncomfortable as it looked, if not more. It was a plain black outfit, the usual night cop look. Once he had his pants on, he hooked on the belt which had an empty holster for his gun. He turned back to face the women who had shown him to lockers,"So when do I get my gun?" He smirked.

"in three months" she sighed and, turned around, she was impressed by kane, he didnt look like the type to have a six pack or be built like a tank, but, he was and she laughed to herself, making snide remarks of such things about his body, about the fact that he was of course surprisingly fit. When she turned back to him she grinned "good luck on convincing them to give you a gun. You're going to be stuck behind a desk for a short while" she shook her head laughing menacingly.

Kane hung his head in disappointment and let out a heavy sigh,"Oh great, more desk work. Not much difference here then at my other job." He looked around the locker room and headed for the door, after closing his locker. When he got to the door he turned and looked at Jean,"You know, I never got your name."

"and you wont" she grinned, unbuttoned her shirt and tore it off, she was ending her shift so she was allowed to run around in a black tank top and her uniform pants, when she looked back at him, she smirked, one that would send chills down her spine had she seen it, she had on a silver necklace with a gold ring hanging from the chain, she fiddled with it when she walked past him, it was only right for him to know, so, she turned back to him one last time "my name is jean"

"Well, that's good to now." He tapped the side of the door and headed to his desk. When he got to where all the desks were, he realized he had no clue which one was his,"Oh, wonderful." He sighed and walked around for about twenty minutes, until he finally found his desk. He sat down and waited, like the sheriff instructed him to when he told Kane that he had gotten the job.

Jean walked over to him and sat on the edge of his desk "you forgot this" she handed him his badge and laughed at him like a child "You know, you really are gona need me to train yeh" she tilted her head at him then, stood to her feet, she was rather attractive when she was happier, and, less frustrated with the situation at hand "Oh and, by the way" she whispered to him "you may want to keep the perverted thoughts to a minimal here"

Kane, once again, hung his head in disappointment and sighed,"Wow, I can't do anything here, can I?" He leaned back into his chair and put his feet up on his desk, as well as his hands behind his head. He looked back up at Jean,"So why do I need you to train me? Will you make me better than everyone else?" He asked slyly.

"hardly. I'm the best here" because if i get shot the bullet will just bounce off of me she thought to herself blinking then looking down at him "i will train you to keep your guard up, and, reflexes sharp" while she spoke she looked down at him, and, before he knew it he was on the ground, sprawled out with jean's foot just inches from his throat "your training starts now if you havent guessed" the others laughed at them "Jean go easy on 'em he's just a kid" charles, the sheriff spoke slyly "not a chance charlie"

When Kane hit the floor he was dazed, and little confused about how she moved so fast. He didn't have nearly enough room to roll out from under her foot, so he laid there, waiting for her to move. He could hear everybody laughing as well,Wonderful first impression. He tried to turn his head to look at Jean,"You couldn't have given me a warning first?" He grabbed her foot and twisted it, so she would follow.

when she didnt and a sickly snap echoed into the room everyone gasped, she didnt wince, she merely twisted her foot back, popping the bones back in place, they reformed almost instantly "shouldnt'a done that kid" she picked him up by the collar of his shirt, Jean then tossed him into the air, catching him on her shoulder and walked out back, they had a nice little clearing where she often trained the new men.

Wow, she's a lot stronger than she looks. He scratched his chin and felt that he needed to shave again. He looked back at Jean,"You know, I don't think I've been this close to yet." He found it quite fun to mess with her. Although his mind did drift back to how she just snapped her ankle back in place, and he knew that wasn't his imagination,"So, back in the cubicle, how did you snap you ankle back in place with such ease?"

she laughed wickedly shaking her head "nice ass" she laughed again more calm this time so, when she threw him to the ground she grinned "i'm not human" she raised an eyebrow looking down at him with such a look that it couldnt have been anything else but lust, blood lust "get up" she said coldly, while she waited she stared down at him.
