She nodded to Violetta, knowing itd be easier then having to tell herself. She then glanced to the forest as she thought she heard a sound….It sounded almost like a cat…where was Lily anyway? She shrugged inwardly and walked towards the door, saying quietly “And…thanks…”




Seeing the change in eyes the cat focused on its bones, constantly changing their size to slightly larger and slightly smaller so the crushing attempt caused only pain but the constant shifting resisted some damage and healed the rest. It nearly teared at the words, however, for that’s what hurt most. It tried desperately to help rain but always seemed to fail….it was being here that allowed her memory to surface more then anything…not lily. ..

As she was thrown she whimpered in pain, every bone wringing out from the constant shifting. She didn’t care, however, knowing she couldn’t leave them alone. Changing to the size of a panther she began to run after him though each bone made her cringe every few steps with pain. The shifting had saved from breakage but it still felt like every bone had been stretched and cracked several times…being they had and all. She let out a load yowl, hoping others would hear because she knew she’d havce trouble keeping up with her bones like this.

Xanic grinned as he heard the cat following him. Yes that's right follow me little kitten. Come rescue my vulnerable little brother. Xanic slid to a stop, pulled out the knife he had taken from the kitchen earlier and smiling drove it deep into their body and shoved Oni back out.

Oni blinked confused. . .where was he? Something felt wrong. Looking down Oni saw the blade in his gut and his eyes went wide as he fell over.

"Well, is it working? Are you cheering up any?" Saorla gave a small smile, hoping that just maybe her being here would brighten his mood up somewhat. The blush that she saw appear on his cheeks surprised her a bit, but even though she wanted to ask, the fairy stayed quiet so that she wouldn't embarrass him. "Uriel..." She said, shrugging. "I have not seen him around too often lately... He's probably hiding. I wish that I could tell you more, but you probably already knew." Saorla sat up straight again, letting her hand fall softly against the counter.

She couldn’t reach him in time and she let out a sound of sorrow, shifting to her human form even though it caused her to release a sound of pain and she nearly fell over as she reached him. “I… I’m going to shift to a large form to carry you, you’re going to have to trust me to take you to Rain to heal you, you have to hold on though okay? I’m so sorry…. He surprised me and I couldn’t get to you in time…”

She whispered, growing larger even though it felt like every bone in her body was breaking. She then picked him up, it taking all her strength to do so without screaming. She then began to carry him towards the Inn, whispering through her own pain “P…Please hold on Oni…. We need you….” She let her tears drop, feeling like she could be loosing her twin brother all over again.

( Oh, come on! xD Oni, you had to do this when Dante was itty ibtty! )

Dante heard the loud growl from outside before growling irritably. He had already guessed what had or would happen. He wasn't going to be of any damned help how he was now. "OI! RAIN! GO PICK UP YOUR DAMNED EMO!" He was loud, sure, but he needed to be. If she didn't hear him, then someone else sure as Hell would.

He sighed heavily, lowering his head. "A little. But... I think I'd be better if I took a walk." He hopped off the bar stool and headed towards the front door. "Will you come with me?"

Oni was going in and out and not really understanding what the person was saying. Things hurt and he was getting cold.

(( of course Dante :P I like to make things difficult. sorry for short post ))

Rain bit her lip as she heard Dante, not even looking at Violetta as she instantly knew who he had to be talking about Oni. Not again….she’d only remembered the pain of losing her family now, but that simply made it fresher in her heart and mind. Made it feel like it was yesterday…and happening again today.

She ran to the stairs and slid down the banister, leaping off and running outwards towards where she heard the sound. She could see the shadow of lily moving…looking so much like when she was human save the wings and cat tail/ears. Those bouncing curls, she could remember combing through them and braiding them …..

She didn’t have a moment to spare thinking as she reached her sister who fell as she reached them. Her sister fainted then and returend to cat form, and Rain leaped forward to catch him. She instantly started her healing spell, slowly drawing the dagger out as she healed it so as to not have the bleeding start. She kept one hand over his wound and the other wrapped around his hand. “Oni…” She whispered softly, “Come back to me…” she whispered softly.

His eyes opened and Xanic grinned at her and whispered, "They all die Rain. . .all of them and you can't stop it." He retreated and pushed Oni forward once more.

Oni blinked and said softly, "Rain what happened? I. . .it was all weird again."

Rain said nothing to Xanic, simply looking at him a moment. She knew exactly who it was now, it was Xanic…just as she feared. How could she tell Oni? How could she…. It’d break his heart…just as the fear he was right broke hers. She bit her lip as she looked down at him, her hands staying on the wound. She felt her mind slip back, seeing another man here…one with light brown hair burning in fire. He too said she couldn’t save them…that in killing him she’d killed them…..and she could hear their screams….

As Oni awoke for a moment Rain did not feel her usual uncertainty to touch, simply grapping the now healed Oni to her chest after throwing the dagger aside. She hugged him tightly, shivering a little at the memory. She didn’t say a word for a moment then whispered softly, “The bad one came again, but it’s okay…we saved you….”

Oni screamed as pain shot through his mind. It was like someone not only took away his empathic control but turned the volume up to maximum. Rain and Ebony's emotions hit him like a semi truck hitting a cat. It's reach was much more than he had ever experienced before. He could feel the panic of a rabbit trying to evade a fox way out in the woods. He could feel everyone who was in the inn. There was so many emotions and so strong. Then suddenly he passed out because of the sensory overload.

Rain bit her lip as he fainted, looking at the kitten now also collapsed at her side from her earlier pain. She sighed, sitting the small furball on Oni’s stomach before she lifted him despite the pain in her hand. She shivered a moment and walked back to the inn, using a small spell to make him lighter for a moment.

Once inside she lay him on the couch gently, sitting next to him and laying his head on her lap. She wouldn’t move…she had to make sure to keep him safe. She closed her eyes, drifting absently into a half sleep, half wake, her hand still throbbing.



((Hehe thank you XD. I might eventually get rid of Lily though xD. I’m thinking of making her go poof when Rain remembers everything XD…her spirit moving on to join the rest of the family Xd. She was kinda made as a side /more npc type character but isn’t staying one lol. ))

Some time had passed and Oni let out a little moan at the pain of his headache. He felt warmth and snuggled to it. His head hurt too much to think but at least the emotions had died down. He said very quietly, "my head. . .hurts bad." He had tried to open his eyes but the light hurt too much and he closed them."

(( Oni will help Rain remember but don't let him know the kitty will *poof* or he might not :P))

“I’m sorry sweety…” Rain said with a sigh, waking up slowly and looking down at him. She stroked his hair a moment and putting as much healing energy in it could as she cast a soft spell. She studied him a moment, thinking of how close to death he’d been. Xanic…Xanic had become willing to kill him. But how could she tell him? “You want something to eat?” She asked quietly, glancing towards the kitchen.

((Hehe easy, Rain doesn’t know and Lily’s hardly going to say something so hurtful to her sister hehe))

Oni could feel the spell go over him but not sink in. He wasn't surprised. For some reason their headaches were the only thing that couldn't be healed with powers. Even Xanic could not fix it when they got headaches. He tried to smile at Rain and said softly, "Thank you Rain. Yes some food . . .red meat, some sugar, juice, and headache pills. Sorry for being so needed . . . and for causing trouble." Oni got quiet and said shamefully, "I did bad things again didn't I?"

((hehe. . I feel like I'm in some sort of conspiracy ))

Rain nodded, feeling that same discomfort and fear she often did when being motherly but now knowing why so it faded quickly. She couldn’t let herself feel it…because then Oni would. She smiled softly and raised a hand, using a small spell so that the listed items would float from their places over to her. She then began to slowly pour some juice for him. She would have to get Xanic away from him…but how?

She then looked u p at the last question, tilting her head to the side. “It’s okay, you just hurt yourself a little….it’s okay…” She said softly, using a quick fire spell to sear a stake lightly for him. She then brought a few candies to herself to give him one. She sat them on the table nearby, glancing at Lily still asleep.

Oni drank the juice and swallowed the pills hoping they would work quickly. He felt a brush of uneasiness from Rain but ignored it to hungry to think. He ate the meat rather quickly grateful that it was still juicy inside. He licked his fingers and began eating the candy next. He snuggled against her while he munched the candies and closed his eyes. He said, "I'm glad. . .I don't want to hurt other people. If I do bad things at least it is to myself. I don't want to hurt you guys." It made him think of Lukas. . what if he ever hurt him?

((dun dun dun. . .beware, hehehe))

“I’m not….” Rain said with a sigh, simply hugging over his shoulders a moment. “Oni….You’re family to me, I don’t want to see you hurt.” she said softly, glancing at the candy. It was a quandary. Perhaps if she could find the right spell… she could transfer Xanic’s soul somewhere she can have a nice little talk with him…but where. It wasn’t exactly easy to find a vessel strong enough to hold an unwilling soul….and she’d never done such a spell before…..

( Beware? o-o )

Oni said her softly with feeling in his voice, "Rain thinks of me like family? I am very happy because I like Rain." He was scared though but did not want to tell Rain why. When he first left the Inn the things he wanted to do seemed like things Xanic would do, not him. What if Xanic was doing bad things? He shivered and thought that there was no way his brother would do such a thing.

Rain smiled softly, leaning forward and hugging him again before pointing towards the juice and medicine. “Might want to take that for your head.” She said softly, reaching over to pet Lily softly and then glancing at Oni again. “I miss having a family….. And I barely remember mine, funny huh?” She said with a laugh, trying to change the subject. She wasn’t use to this…but a little brother…felt right.

((Hmm lets see, not much happened. xD. Xanic hurt Oni again, Rain saved Oni again, Rain told Violetta about the witch hunters who agreed to tell Dante for her.... Ummm... Lily(Ebony, Rain's cat) gained her human form a few minutes XD...... ummm Dante's friend arrived and She and Dante went for a walk... I think that's it))
