“It’s alright to be scared…. But protect Xanic? What do you mean?” She asked quietly, ignoring his request to be alone and simply reaching forward to hug him gently and rubbing his back. Rain closed her eyes, so Xanic must have told him something… So Xanic did still have the ability to communicate with him… he had been choosing to do so… he must have been trying to inflict pain on him… but why?

Oni didn't think he should tell Rain. He knew she wouldn't like it that he had to be hurt in order to help Xanic. He wasn't all that surprised either that she wouldn't let him be alone. He couldn't be mad at her though because he knew it was only because she cared about him. "I don't mean anything. . I'm just tired. Can we sit down?" he said really wanting to sit.

( Just say Dante snuck away upstairs. I can't do this anymore. TwT~ )

“Oni….. We can sit down but you’re a terrible liar.” Rain said simply sitting on the couch and pulling him with her by keeping her arm firmly around his shoulders. She then glanced to him, “Tell me the truth…” She said simply, her eyes meeting his. “What did Xanic tell you?” She then inwardly begin calculating, thinking over the possibilities.

Oni sat down with relief. It felt so good to sit. Well at least Xanic was succeeding . . . Oni was wiped. He was so scared. . .he didn't want to tell Rain but at the same time he did. He began shaking as he cuddled to her and cried. What was he suppose to do? Finally he said, "I can't say. It is really important though. . .but scary."

Pre'acha'n wandered back into the the main room from trying to find the baths. "Important, but scary? There's a lot that covers that..." he said, walking over to sit on the arm of the couch. "But things are less scary with friends around."

“Well if it’s so important then I should agree huh? So there will be no harm in telling me.” Rain said with a shrug, holding him close. She inwardly focused, trying to transfer a little of her energy to Oni…just Oni… with a small spell though her only hand gesture was to put both hands on his back. She’d never tried this so wasn’t sure if she even could do it but it was worth a try… he looked like he was going to pass out….

Oni looked at both of them wanting to tell them everything. He felt a little surge of energy then felt it being pulled at. Oni sighed and let the energy slide deep inside and fade. He sagged a little. "I want to tell you but I don't think I could even if I wanted to . . .I think it's a secret. I won't betray brother. . .he watches out for me," he said weakly. No he couldn't tell. . .not to these people. They weren't family, why should he trust them? No they had tried to hurt them . . had tried to stop us. Oni let out a little growl. They wanted to stop brother. Oni shook his head. Weird thoughts that were his but not his. What was happening? Was this brother? Oni shook in fear. Brother was so angry. . .no Oni couldn't tell.

“You need to tell us Oni…you know you do. Don’t let Xanic stop you, he’s just afraid. If it’s a good reason don’t you think we’ll stop fighting and let Xanic do what he wants?” Rain whispered softly, taking his cheeks in her hand. She focused, saying Oni’s name over and over in the spell so Xanic wouldn’t be able to use it. She shivered inwardly, feeling her own body grow weak from focusing on Oni’s soul and putting a barrier around it as best she could so that Xanic wouldn‘t try to lie to him. She could protect him for a while… but eventually her own energy would give out…

"Hey, we might even help," Pre'acha'n said, touching Oni's shoulder gently. He could sense Rain's magic, and that it was trying to help Oni. "We might as well be a family here, from what I've seen. Even I feel like I belong here, and I'm supposed to be always traveling. The curse of being a raven, I suppose."

Enraged Xanic burst forth and grabbed Rain's neck choking her. His eyes half crazy and the other with intent to kill. Screaming he said, "YOU WILL NOT STOP US!" Using any weapon available Xanic lunged for her intent on biting her face off if he had to.
