Rain felt a moment of sheer panic, her memories of rape and worse flashing through her head. She dismissed them as best she could, gripping his wrists as she focused and finally sent a spell that would work much like telekinesis. First pushing his hands to the side then him back into the couch. She held her throat, bruises already forming on the front of it….past scars ironically on the back.

Though her hand trembled she held him there, one hand towards him and one on her throat. She spoke softly “I will stop you if it’s best for Oni, no matter how bad you try to hurt me. You won’t scare me Xanic, He is family to me now and damn it you will never stop me from protecting him.” She grew louder towards the end, small tears in her eyes as her voice came out slightly gravely from the earlier clutch of her throat.

Xanic struggled against her spell, smirked and dove back in. He had spent the energy she had just given Oni a moment ago but now it was gone. He could not waste any more energy on the woman no matter how much she enraged him. He knew she wanted him dead but he would not give her the satisfaction. He would do what was necessary.

Oni's body went limp then Oni shuddered and said in an almost dead voice, "He did something bad again didn't he?"

Pre'acha'n jumped back, landing on his feet and stumbling a bit when Oni... Xanic?... threw himself at Rain. "Dude! We're trying to help! We can't do anything if we don't know what's going on!" he shouted, doing his best not to shift and fly away, or attack. "That's it! Really! Great, Oni's back..." He wanted to hit his head on something, hard.

“It’s fine.” Rain lied, forcing her hand to fall from her aching throat as she went on to a more truthful statement, trying to keep her hands from shaking from having a male grab her like that again. “but I do think he might accidentally do something very bad to me if you don’t tell me what’s going on before he can. I promise I’m doing this for a good reason. Just tell me the truth so I can help you Oni…” she said persistently. Rain was nothing if not stubborn, even as she felt old pain resurfacing though she tried to fight it back as she had a feeling that was exactly what Xanic wanted.

Oni had little strength. He said softly, "I can't tell. Rain will not help brother because Oni must be hurt. I must save Xanic. I can't let him go." He closed his eyes. He felt so weak. . everything seemed fuzzy. He wanted to save brother but he wanted to not just hurt Oni but other people too. What was the right thing to do? How could he let his brother die?

“if it’s what you want and for good enough reason I will allow it…Just tell me Oni” She whispered softly, as she leaned forward on one hand. She watched him, running a hand through her hair. Let him die? Rain inwardly shivered, fearing she knew what it could be. Two souls in one body….it had to be unstable…was it breaking apart? No she couldn’t lose her family…not again.

Pre'acha'n sat on the arm of the couch again. "We might be able to find a good way to help, Oni," he said, worry in his voice. "We need to know so that we can help. You say it's important, and we say helping you is." Send be to hell in a handbasket, I hate my curiosity...

Oni was too tired to argue. Quietly he said, "If Xanic does not hurt me he will die. I must help him. Do not worry. . .we will be okay, both of us." Even though he said that he wasn't sure if they would be. Xanic wanted them to become one and it scared Oni. What if it didn't work and Oni accidentally killed his brother?

He looked over at Brenden, "Way to help that is a good way?" He thought about this and continued, "I don't know if it's possible. . .I would have to talk to Xanic."

It was exactly as she feared and her hands curled into fists as Rain tried to suppress her anger. “No… You BOTH wont be alright….He’ll be alright. Oni…. The body can’t hold two souls it seems and xanic… Xanic is choosing himself over you….”For once Rain couldn’t hold it in, even for Oni. She said the blunt truth, reaching over to hug him into a tight hug. “Do not let him do that…don’t let him kill you Oni, we need you…. I’ll try to find a way to save him too but don’t’ you dare let him have his way… Oni, you’re family, don’t let him take you away…What about Lucas?” Rain said in a sharp fast whisper as she held him close. She shivered, trying desperately to find a way to show him… show him what his brother really was doing…. And a way to make Oni realize he needed to save himself.

Oni cried out, "No. . No! Rain is wrong! Xanic would not kill me! He loves me!" He tried to squirm away from her but he had not energy left and he couldn't get away. He went limp against her crying. He said, "Why does Rain want me to chose between Lukas and brother? Brother can make things okay and I won't have to lose either. Brother won't hurt me. Why does Rain say such bad things about Xanic?"

Because they’re true and you know it Oni……. You don’t want to believe it but you know it is….” Rain said simply, continuing to hold onto him. She buried her head in the other’s shoulder, shivering a little bit. She hated it was true…. She would do anything to make it not true…. But it was Xanic or Oni……that much was clear. And no prizes for guessing who of the two she wanted to live…

((Hehe she might if Oni convinces her to try try to create Xanic his own body instead <.<.... No promises that she'll be to nice to said body after Xanics in it buuuutt.))

"Uhh, the only thing I've seen from your brother is... not nice," Pre'acha'n said, scratching his head. "But if it is two souls, then maybe we can make a vessel for him... It would take a while, but you would both still be here... and you could live the life you want, without having to ask him about everything if you didn't want to." He started thinking of ways that a soul was held, and how they could make it so that it was a working body for it. "Gods, I'd have to look up a ton of stuff, but we might be able to pull it off."

Rin woke up on his bed once more. He saw the broken mirror and the bottle from the day before and set off to clean it up. Once he had made the room presentable once more he dressed himself and laid back on his bed for a moment his mind lost in thought about everything that had happened in the past few days.

((Sure the dragon can come out to play.))

Talianda woke slowly, feeling warm weight against his side. He opened bleary eyes to see Janu snuggled up to him. This is nice... She's comfortable there... He yawned, doing his best not to wake her, and curled his tail over her. She's so peaceful now. I almost miss the way she was, but I can't do anything about it. Whatever happened will work itself out.

Oni was too exhausted to argue or do anything for that matter. He just laid there and closed his eyes. He wanted to sleep so badly. He just said, "okay." With in seconds Oni was drifting off to sleep. Too much had happened both mentally and physically. He just couldn't stay awake any longer.

Rain sighed as he passed out, simply holding him close a moment. She stroked his back slightly, closing her eyes and speaking to the raven. “Do it…. Find the way… so I can beat the hell out of Xanic without hurting Oni if nothing else… I won’t let that bastard kill him…”




Janu woke up slowly, feeling his tail. She gripped him lightly, enough of her memory returning that she could remember a broken heart…. And that she liked kisses. She flushed at the memory, shivering a little and looking up at him. Janu wondered…. Would he feel good too? “Tal….Promise me something…” She whispered softly.

Rin took a deep breath. "Hopefully it will be quiet downstairs and no hugging session or whatever they were all about yesterday." He thought to himself. After a few moments he got up and made his way downstairs. He headed for the cooler and proceeded to grab some ice. He went back into the stores and scrounged for some oranges and headed into the kitchen with them and a glass. He felt like making something to wake him up.
