"Shi-!" Dante grabbed the girl by her shirt collar, stopping her from falling to the floor. He hesitated a moment, then pulled her limp body close to the counter; close enough to lean her on it at least. He shoved her plate away as sighed before coming around to her side and picking her up into his arms. She was so tiny and light- it was a little weird for him to say the least. He wasn't used to this. Or course, he never really tried to pick children up before.

He sighed, then checked her forehead again for any trace of a fever. Magical of not, he'd think something painful in the brain was dangerous. Hopefully it wasn't serious whatever it was.

The young girl smiled brightly, committing all the names to memory. Her smile disappeared quickly though when she felt the small prod from the pink-haired girl. Chie blinked in alarm, her fork falling from her fingers and clattering against her plate. "You shouldn't snoop," said Chie quietly, but the girl seemed unable to control her own powers...well, she was quite young after all. A soft sigh escaped Chie; she hated to use her telepathic powers, but she would assist the girl in stopping the flood of memories. She had long since mastered the art of guarding her mind, she just wasn't used to having to do it. Already the girl was near losing consciousness from the flood of memories. Burgundy-colored eyes stared calmly at the child as she used her telepathic powers to reject the other girl's mind and reading power. "There...it should have stopped now." She blinked once and then gingerly picked up her fork and went back to eating, falling silent. Of course now she knew she'd have to keep up a guard constantly. After only a couple of bites of pancake, Chie put down her fork, sighing wearily. She turned her gaze back to the little girl again in Dante's arms. "You shouldn't pry, it's rude..." her tone was firm, but then she softened and smiled lightly, "I suppose I'll have to answer questions now..."

Michi was only 6, 7 in 2 months...she didnt know any better, with her parentdead at the age of 5 she didnt learn much.
"Mur...m..Michi cant...help it.."
She turned and clung to Dante, wanting to be away from the girl. She was hoping with another kid around she'd find a friend, but if being around this girl gave her pain, she was afraid.
"Dante.."
She tried not to cry as the memory's still pulsed painfully in her head.

Dante sighed as Michi stirred and clung to him. What was he supposed to do in this situation? He'd never had kids. He hardly was around them. How did you make them 'feel better'? They were so fragile and broke easy, physically and emotionally- he couldn't deal with that all the time; he didn't understand what those 'happy couples' always found so exciting about conceiving these things. "Let's go get some air." He said softly before heading out the front door. There was a soft chilly bite, but otherwise, it was nice out. IT would be fine for Michi, though. She was hugging Dante, and Dante had enough muscle to keep himself warm.

He found a bench outside and took a seat there with the girl in arms, hardly letting go of her until she either calmed down or pushed away from him. "Does it still hurt?"

Michi nodded, and enjoyed the warmth of Dante's body.
"uh-huh.."
She was slowly sorting the memories away as she did with all the ones she saw, causeing less stress on her mind.
"She...not human..."
The images of the other Atlantians moved through her head.

Chie's eyes rested steadily on the small child, a somewhat kind and knowing smile on her lips. This had happened time and time again to either telepaths who were too nosey, or those who couldn't control their powers. Her eyes followed the girl in Dante's arms as he rose and she followed quietly behind them, staying in the doorway while he took her outside. "She...not human..." "How far back did you see?" Chie asked curiously, wondering which time period the young child had seen of her lengthy life. Of course she was also probably being rude, not letting her rest before asking... well, it wouldn't happen again, Chie didn't like to bother other people so she would keep her guard up.

"You're acting as if that's not a common theme in this place." Dante chuckled. He didn't cared what that little girl was in all honesty. So far, he was the only somewhat normal person here. If it weren't for that curse of his, he'd really be the 'outcast' of the Inn. He placed a hand on the girl's head and smiled down at her. He was about to say more when the girl from before joined them. His expression fell quickly. "It doesn't matter what she saw. If you're worried she'll say something compromising, then you could always play the secret game with her." He looked to Michi with a weak grin. "She's doing very well so far."

Michi looked up wide eyed at Atlantian girl.
"You were a baby...Michi...bounces around memory"
She brought of the memory of baby Chie, so that if the girl read her mind, she could see for herself. She pouted and fought back tears.
"Michi sorry..."
She clung closer to Dante, not wanting to feel the pain from the girls head again.
"Another secret game?"

"Mmh. Another secret game. This time it's between you and this girl." Dante's expression was weakening. He couldn't believe he was saying all of this crap. He rubbed the girl's back and sighed. "You can do that, right, Michi?"

Michi nodded and looked back at the girl/
"Michi wont tell....Michi and Chie be...friends?"
She started to drift off, the strain on her head lightening, causing her to pass out.
"Dante...."
She snuggled into him, passing out in him arms, clinging to his warmth.

Dante sighed as Michi lost consciousness. He relaxed finally, losing his smile or whatever comforting atmosphere he had feigned. He really did find it annoying. Children were worse than women. So easy to wound, so hard to fix.

He carefully lifted her up before looking down at the overly mature Chie. "You don't have to put an act on for me if you'd feel more comfortable that way." He knew that when he shrunk, he hardly liked acting like a child. In fact, he hated it. It was embarrassing and degrading.

( Oni, Oni. =O Stop sleeping with every man in the Inn! xD )

Chie sighed. "It's not a secret game..." Her eyes drifted to the girl again when she spoke. Wouldn't tell? Again the blue-haired girl sighed. How bothersome; she didn't know just how far back into her past this girl had seen. The Middle Ages? Ancient Rome? The Bronze Age? Or all the way back to her birth in the legendary lost city of Atlantis? It was bothersome not to know, but she nodded, smiling lightly. "Very well, friends..." she trailed off slightly, looking at the child a bit kindly, "I'll be sure to keep it contained so you don't have to try too hard." Though she wasn't quite sure if Michi actually caught the last bit as the small girl lost consciousness.

Chie's wine-colored eyes drifted to Dante, catching his words. A small smile formed on her lips, a weary expression. "It's far easier on you humans if I maintain my facade, I learned my lesson long ago." She chuckled, turning slightly to make space for him to pass through the doorway - he looked as if he would carry the child to her room. "If there's anything you wish to know, I do not sharing my knowledge," her lips twitched slightly, "That child should have simply asked..."

"I don't care." Dante said simply. "I honestly don't care what or who you are. I don't act if you act adult, and I don't care if you turn out to be incredibly sassy." He looked down to the girl and sighed heavily. "I'd prefer it, actually." At least he wouldn't have to worry about that girl turning into an emotional disaster.

He held Michi a bit awkwardly and carried her to one of the couches. He sat down, keeping the girl with him for now. Hell, he didn't have anything better to do. Maybe he'd go ahead and take a nap himself.

( Phht. xD If he wasn't innocent, Dante would have ditched him. )

She had to laugh at his reply. Ah, most people just wanted to forget her existence, it tickled her to think he was more annoyed with her pretending to be a child. "Very well," she said with a smile, closing the door after he reentered the establishment. "Ah! Almost forgot..." That's right, she had dissolved the lock earlier...they'd be needing that returned most certainly. Chie touched a small finger to the doorknob, silently reassembling the lock system properly. Good, she thought to herself. The young girl stepped quietly around the furniture in the room, removing her charcoal gray traveling cloak at last and throwing it over the back of a chair. She flitted back across the room in her simple white cotton dress, settling herself on the couch across from Dante and Michi. Her eyes flickered from Michi to Dante, tilting her head slightly. "She seems close to you." It seemed a marvel to the Atlantian, she'd never have figured that a child like Michi would be attached to such grouch...made her curious.

Arina rolled out of bed and walked over to her closet. She dressed in a simple warm fur lined velvet dress with a slit on each side, like she had aquired of late. She did her hair, put on some shoes and made her way down the stairs. She yawned a little moving behind the bar and then nodding her head to the new girl "Hello Miss, I hope this lively bunch hasn't caused you trouble." She said softly while pouring herself a cup of warm tea. "Michi, we're going to have to go into town in a bit so if you can make sure to wear something to keep you warm ok?"

"Ah. Weird isn't it?" Dante shrugged. "I've never had a kid cling to me like this." He looked down at Michi, then sighed heavily. Well, it was an experience. It was like walking across a floor covered in glass- every step was risky as Hell. He brought a hand up to cover his mouth as he yawned. He was exhausted. Most of the shaking in his hands had calmed, but he still felt jittery. Not to mention he was exhausted. He hadn't had a good nights rest, after all.

He'd had more nightmares- it was nothing new. His mind just wouldn't let go of the past. "So, why did you come here? Just passing by?" Well, that was Dante's excuse.

Also The maps are done but I want to color them and add a few last details. So I won't have them to you till. . . what day it today? . . .um either Monday night or Tuesday at the latest. ))

He said getting up and going to the small closet, opening it and taking out a shirt and pants and such and dressing. He went to the mirror in front of the sink, brushing his hair and his teeth then moving out down and nodding his head to Arina and the rest of the people as he poured himself a cup of coffee.
